Language is no doubt the most effective medium which messages or thoughts are expressed, hence it is very important to human existence. But how many Nigerians can speak their mothers tongue?

The Yoruba people are known for their love of and pride in their music, culture and tradition. How many of them understand the language, music and culture completely? Is the Yoruba language near extinction? Has civilization affected the Yoruba language?
