Like many business owners, Tomas was working 12-hour days, add to that a 2-hour commute each day. Tomas is working 80+ hour working week. However, his business, a small gym, is only able to pay him approximately £ 1,500 per month and even that was inconsistent. Other months it could pay him on time, other months he had to wait.
Tomas was making significantly less than the minimum wage. Even the 18-year-old receptionist was making more than the owner of the company.
Tomas' story is not uncommon. I hear stories like this most weeks. So, my question is, are you building your business on slave labour?
