Show Notes

On this episode of “Active Allyship…it’s more than a #hashtag!” …

On the “Did you Know?” segment, Sunni and Lisa discuss the occupant of the White House’s LIES regarding COVID-19!!!!!!  According to CNN, Play it down Trump, admits to concealing the true threat of coronavirus in the new Woodward book called “Rage”. Trump actually admitted (out loud) that he was knowledgeable about the seriousness of COVID-19 and intentionally downplayed it!!!!! What in the entire FCUK could he have been thinking?!  You’ve got to listen!

Of course, Sunni and Lisa start the show by hearing what Anne Boudreau was marinated in as a child - she was bullied relentlessly.  Thankfully, there’s so much more to the tapestry that makes her the beautiful person she is today!  Makes you think, if white people can be so mean to each other, do other races really stand a chance (but I digress)?

Anne is the author of A Human Mosaic: Heal, Renew & Develop Self-Worth.   During our conversation, we discuss ways in which we can more effectively deal with the craziness of the world today, specifically 2020!  People can and do change, we are capable of embracing change and growing from it.  She shares her experience from the eyes of a six year old who realized that mean people are this way because they have low self-value and zero, zip, zilch self-worth.  Imagine that!  Have you ever wondered if you have the ability to change? Like, change your thoughts, your beliefs (real or imagined) about others?  Well, there’s this thing called Neuroplasticity that basically helps you rewire your brain.  Does it work, absolutely!  Don’t just take our word for it, there are former white supremacists, i.e. kkk, neo-nazis etc. who can attest to the validity of it. At the beginning, middle or end of the day, as human beings, we should be accepting and tolerant, minimally.  Do yourself a favor if you haven’t already… ask yourself… Am I accepting and tolerant of others, if not, why?  Check yourself, that’s where the love begins. Challenge yourself, DO NOT allow your brain to take the “shortcut”!
