EP #17: Holding Space for Healing ~ The Root of Your Trauma can Show Up in Unexpected Ways
Show Notes

On this episode of “Active Allyship…it’s more than a #hashtag!” … On the “Did you Know?” segment, Sunni and Lisa share two great news articles related to the voter process!  According to Good Black News - NBA Legend Michael Jordan and his Jordan Brand Donate $2.5 Million to Combat Black Voter Suppression and The NAACP and LeBron Jame’s “More Than A Vote” Initiative Attracts 10,000 Volunteer Poll Works. We all know that there’s voter suppression, in addition to voter suppression, we are in the midst of a pandemic where people are feeling unsafe and vulnerable.

Our guest Vanessa Codorniu shares her marination as a Latinx person in this country.  She shares the pain, the process, the nurturing, the healing and the wisdom of her journey.  Love is Love and that is made clear when she shares the story of her father’s unexpected interaction on a New York subway train. What an amazing journey and life changing story!

Vanessa is called The Urban Priestess, who is a bilingual educator and wellness activist. She is an acclaimed Latinx teacher of intuition and clinical hypnosis, with over 27 years of experience and more than 10,000 individual sessions.  Vanessa shares her heritage discussing an array of sensitive topics. Who knew that Sunni’s vulnerability would show up the way it did?  Not even Sunni excepted the raw emotions to present during the taping.  You already know you’re going to have to listen.  What things are you carrying? Just now, Erykah Badu’s “Bag Lady” came to mind. Vanessa shares her vulnerabilities as a Healer and learning to protect herself as an immigrant and BIPOC from those with misconceptions based on programming and stereotypical beliefs.  We realize that people are dealing with unprecedented levels of grief, collective trauma and fear of the unknown at the moment.  Are you interested in healing your trauma? Do you believe in alternative healing?  Have you considered alternative healing?  How about ancestral healing?  The root of your trauma can be hard to pinpoint, which means it’s easier to be triggered or rekindled.  You’ve got to listen to this show, especially if you’re interested in individual and collective healing.  Be sure to follow us and chime in on our facebook page ~ Active Allyship…it’s more than a #hashtag!
