Speaker 1:

Hi, everybody. Welcome back. And thank you for joining me today on the topic of becoming our best self. The last few weeks I focused on the mind, body and spirit. I shared how important these areas are. As we focus on becoming our best self, I stated that the mind, body and spirit are all interconnected. They all affect each other. They're intertwined, right? The mind, body, and spirit. It is a part of our wellness. It is our wellness. That is where our wellness starts. One thing that I've learned is that taking care of our mind, body and spirit is critical as we focus on becoming our best self. And it is okay. It is okay that if we're asked to do something and we do not have the capacity to do it, is it okay to say no, it is okay to say no, we don't have to take everything on. That is a part of our wellness learning to say no, right. Well, when we talk about self cure, is it okay to engage in self care? Yes, it is okay to engage in self-care, uh, not only is it okay to engage in self care, but it is critical for ourselves. It is critical in becoming our best selves that we are engaging in self care, right? It is important that we are taking care of our mind, body and spirit. In order for us to take care of our loved ones, we must also make sure that we are taking care of ourselves. Taking care of ourselves means taking care of our mind, body and spirit. It means taking time out to make sure that we are engaging in self-care activities. And I remember when I started to do self care workshops, many of the participants felt guilty and engaging in self-care activities because they had other responsibilities such as children, um, such as their families, right? There's other responsibilities that we have. However, we don't need to feel guilty when we are engaging in self care activities. It is important. As I mentioned before that we are healthy, that our minds are healthy in order for us to take care of our families. If we cannot take care of ourselves, we won't be capable of taking care of our loved ones. That means also practicing and incorporating healthy habits in our daily routines and all life. This may include change. I may have to change some behaviors and habits. Another thing that I want to mention is negative environments and people, is it okay for us to distance ourselves from negative environments and people? Yes. In my, it is okay. It is necessary for our growth and for our development to be around positive people and be in positive, safe places where we can grow and we can develop. So the answer is, yes, it is okay for us to distance ourselves from negative people, right. And negative environments. So, but we can now be in a safe place where we can grow, learn, and engage, right? We need to engage in practicing healthy habits to become our best self. Now, what is the challenge that we face now that we have this information? We know how important the mind, body and spirit are. Right? We know that it's important. I've been focusing on the mind, body and spirit is important for us to become our best selves. But the question is, what do we do with the information that we have now received? That's the question? What do we do now? Have we made a list of how we're going to move forward? What are we going to do? As we focus in, on our mind, body and spirit and becoming our best selves, what steps do we need to take? Do we need support in this area? Right? Do we need help? Do we need support in helping us to create and devise a plan? What resources can we access? What resources are in our communities? Who can we network with? Right? This is the challenge. Now that we have the information, what do we do with the instrument? With the information? What we need to do is that we need to activate. We can't just receive and hold it and not do anything with it. We have to act on what we've received, correct? We have to act on what we've received. So that means that the, we have to take steps going forward, right? There may be some things that we have to take out of our lives. There may be some things that we have to change. We have to practice healthy habits. And when we practice healthy habits, they become a part of our daily lives. And our routines, these habits become natural to us, right? So these are some of the things that we have to assess. We're going to have to look and we have to ask ourselves, well, what does taking care of our minds, body, and spirit look like we have to assess. We have to reflect, right? We have to assess and reflect on our lives and on our habits to see if there's anything, anything that we need to change and habits are not easy to change habits, take time to change. But the important thing is to identify what it is that we need to change. So we can work towards changing those habits, the change process, right? The process of change, which takes time. One of the things I want us to remember is that we matter, you matter, you are important and being important means taking care of your mind, body, and spirit with purpose and intent, it doesn't happen overnight, right? It doesn't happen instantly. I want us to remember that it's a process. It's a gradual process each day. As I mentioned before, we're practicing healthy habits that help us to become our best selves. So one thing that I want us to focus on, right? One thing, what is the next step that you need to take? What is the next step I need to take? These are questions I have to ask myself as well. What do we need to do? What I may need to be doing may be different than what you have to do. So what I may need to do will not be the same thing that you need to do. Differentiation. And I want us to remember that, right? I want to make sure that we understand that what somebody else may need to do to become their best self will be different than what you need to do to become your best self. However, taking the first step to focus in on the mind, body and spirit is important for all of us taking the time to reflect and say to ourselves, what do I need to do for my mind? What do I need to do for my spirit? What steps do I need to take for my body? Right? I want to remind us that the process for each one of us will be different, but your mind matters. Your body matters. Your spirit matters. You are important as you work towards becoming your best selves. And remember things don't happen overnight. It's a gradual process, delayed gratification. It takes time, but we're all in this together. And I want to encourage you to continue to focus on becoming your best self. Remember that the process is different. Our journeys are different, but we're all in this together. We are all focusing on becoming our best self it's gradual. It will not happen overnight. It takes time. Okay? It's not instant. But what is important is that we are working towards becoming our best self. And I want to remind you again, that your mind matters. Your body matters. Your spirit matters. You are important and becoming our best self is a process. It doesn't happen instantly. And I just want to thank you again for tuning in.
