Thunderbird & Sasquatch: The Folklore
Show Notes

This week, we explore the history of two great legendary cryptids through the stories and folklore of the indigenous communities that created them: the Thunderbird and the Sasquatch. Has humankind been watched over by powerful birds and secretive ape-men for thousands of years? Are they prehistoric creatures that live on in hiding? Could a bigfoot sighting trigger the end of the world? We explore folklore from many different First Nations and Native American tribes, describing these creatures in many different ways: as protectors, as creators, as both good and bad omens, and most of all, as reminders to care for the land we all belong to.
