Hello and welcome to the Speak Life Podcast. My name is Thomas Thoroughgood, media producer at Speak Life. We thought we'd give you a bit of a week off. There have been a lot of hour-long episodes and interviews being released every week without fail for the past year. So we thought we'd have a quieter week and just have this short episode to give you an update about some of the things that are happening in Speak Life, which you can be a part of in the coming term. So think of this as a bit of a summer update. The first thing to mention is the Oak Hill event, which is going to happen on the 3rd of September. And we're really excited for that. Two talks. The first is with Christy Mayer, Paul Van der Clear, and Glenn Scrivener, Speak Life's very own Glenn Scrivener. And then the second event is Mission and the Meaning Crisis with Tom Holland, Paul Van der Clear, and Glenn Scrivener. And the first event is free, but you need to reserve a place. The second one is five pounds, and you can find the booking links for both of those at speaklife.org.uk forward slash meaning. So we would love to see as many of you there as possible. I think it's going to tap into some really interesting conversations around the sort of air we breathe stuff in Glenn's new book. Speaking of the Air We Breathe, I'm really excited actually for the amount of resources that we we have to go along with the Air We Breathe. So, in terms of the book itself, it's available for purchase as a paper copy, as an ebook, or an audiobook. We actually recorded an audiobook as well. And you can access all of those via the Good Book Company website or Amazon. And the audiobook is, of course, on Audible. So the Good Book Company and Amazon direct you to Audible if you want to buy the audiobook. We also have a ton of videos relating to the air we breathe. So we have a Christmas poem the night before Christmas that we we brought out actually, uh Christmas 2021, and that's a poem by Glenn Scrivener. We have Easter Uprising, which is a documentary about the weekend that made our world, why the cross has become such a prominent symbol, and why that's so significant that it has. So that was made in Rome. So do check that out if you haven't done so already. It's on our YouTube channel, Easter Uprising. And there's also an animation which uh Speak Life intern Jack Mowit made called Everyone Has Faith, What's Yours? And that's kind of a uh an interesting way of depicting the the premise of the Air We Brieve. We've also prepared small group discussion questions and videos for each chapter. So if you go to speaklife.org.uk forward slash TAWB, the Air We Brief, Torb, so speaklife.org.uk forward slash Torb, that will bring you to all our discussion resources. And so we want to make it as accessible as possible. Each chapter has a set of questions, a Bible study, and a video with Glenn talking about it. And you are welcome to use those resources in your church small groups if you want to do that. If you're if working through the book with a non-Christian friend, for example, and you'd like some sort of questions to think about, those are all very open to you. And on that page, you can also download the Good Book Company have made a PDF with the discussion questions. So there's a link to download that on the Torb page. Just to draw your attention as well to Glenn's debate with Bart Ehrman on the Unbelievable channel, so that discusses a lot of the things raised in the book, and that's available via the Unbelievable podcast and their YouTube channel. Glenn was also a keynote speaker at the Unbelievable conference, and he talks about the air we breathe in that, and you can listen to that the highlights from that via the Unbelievable podcast. And finally, Glenn has done a ton of other podcast interviews. That's right, other podcasts are available, including the upstream podcast, which we've released on our YouTube channel this week. So that's a discussion about the Air We Brieve. We didn't want to release that via this podcast, of course, because we don't want we don't want to duplicate podcasts, so we want to direct you to the upstream podcast, but do check out that interview. I think it's a very interesting discussion. So ton of resources to go with the Air We Brieve. I'm really excited about all of those, and I hope you find them a blessing. I hope they allow you to get into some really good conversations with people of all faiths and none. Final thing to mention is speak life intensives. So our next one is 19th to 23rd of September 2022, and we're going to be talking about captivating proclamation. It's an opportunity to hear about getting into the Bible, theology, creativity, filmmaking, social media, the intersection of those things. So we would love to have you in person in Eastbourne to attend that, and all the information for that and the sign up link is found on speaklife.org.uk forward slash foundry. And do have a browse of the new Speak Life website, by the way. We're very excited about it. I think it has a nice clean look. And so enjoy browsing that. Sorry, I feel like that was a bit of a bombardment, but loads of cool things to come. And I don't want to make this episode too long to give you guys a bit of a break over the summer. I know sometimes it feels like there's a lot of Speak Life content coming out, and it's hard to catch up. So maybe this week if you want to go back and catch up on any of our episodes that you've missed. But I think that's all from me. God bless. Have a great summer, and we will be back next week.
