Today on the Evangelists Podcast, The Ascension and Why It's the Answer to Terrorism, Trump, and the Transfer Market.

SPEAKER_00

The Evangelists Podcast. Encouragement to speak life to a needy world. With Glenn Scrivener and Andy Brinkley.

SPEAKER_03

This is the Evangelist Podcast, encouraging you in sharing your faith. I'm Andy Brinkley, Media Producer, and you are Glenn Scrivener.

SPEAKER_02

I am indeed. You keep getting that right. You've nailed it. Now how many how many podcast episodes have we done here?

SPEAKER_03

I think this is 161. 161. I think.

SPEAKER_02

We should make a bigger deal of that. That's kind of a big deal, isn't it? 161. Yeah. Wow. How many can you remember? I can remember about two. I don't know. I I don't know. We did we did we did a series on atheism that sticks in the mind. Okay, yeah. What atheists get right.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Uh one of the most popular ones is um Can I really believe the Bible, I think? Or is Can I believe the Bible's true or something? Really?

SPEAKER_02

That's been downloaded a lot. I forget. Can you remember what they were? No. No.

SPEAKER_03

I think eight what what Atheists Get Right.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. Could be an all-time. Is is up there.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Can I can I really trust the Bible, I think was one of the things. Um we did Brexit and the Blame game. Yeah. Emma's one was very popular. Was it? Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Oh man, she's always man, she's always one-upping me. She's trumping you. She's trumping me. I was gonna say trump, but I just didn't want I didn't want to speak his name. But yeah, it's like everywhere I go I speak, and there's you know everywhere Emma goes, the there are cues of people afterwards who want to tell her how much she has helped them. And everywhere I go and I speak, and there are cues waiting for people to tell me how much Emma has helped them. But that's okay. It is good. Because it's our wedding anniversary, actually, today. Today. Yeah, today. So fourteen years married. And uh so for all her success as a writer, actually, I made her a writer because scrivener means writer. So like without me, she'd be nothing. I remind her of that daily. Morning love. Without me, you'd be nothing. So if you're gonna ask me about the secret of a happy marriage, it's uh just don't do what we do.

SPEAKER_03

So regardless of uh uh uh Emma. Love you, Emma. Mwa. What are we talking about today? Because this is a this is a a big title, isn't it?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so I hope everybody's done all your Ascension shopping. Uh it's that last minute thing, isn't it? It's it's Ascension Day Eve as we record this, and the shops are just you know madness. People trying to get their Ascension Day bargains before they hunker down and you know, gather around their Ascension roast, whatever it is, as long as it's not turkey, it's fine. And uh actually in some in some countries, Ascension Day is a holiday and people make a big deal out of it, and we don't make a deal out of it here, and that is gonna end right now, Andy. We are gonna we're gonna double-handedly, we are going to rehabilitate Ascension Day, and people are gonna be mad for it. Trust me.

SPEAKER_03

Can I go home then?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, tomorrow. I I would. I I give you tomorrow off if you want. If you're gonna go home and meditate on the truths of the Ascension, that's a good way to spend the day. Yeah, so we're gonna think about the Ascension and how it speaks into current issues of today. You might think that the Ascension is this obscure little part of Christian theology. Actually, I think it's it's it's kind of the centrepiece of my spiritual life, actually. Um the fact that there is a high priest, you know, at the right hand of the Father, praying for me right now. Um that is the most amazing good news. And uh we're gonna see how it speaks into all the issues of today, like Trump, like Brexit, like the election, like terrorism, and like the football transfer market.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I can't quite see the connection at the moment. I'm sure. Go with me. By the end of it, by the end of it.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, well, we before we uh dive into the ascension, dive into jump up to rise to the raise our eyes to the ascension.

SPEAKER_03

Um Tell us uh what you've been doing the last couple of weeks or so.

SPEAKER_02

Oh, it's been fun. Um the th the most fun thing is that I've stopped travelling. Hey so since the end of January until really I just came back from Belfast uh on Monday and I've kind of been travelling at least one day, if not six, of every week really since the end of January. So it's been great to to be back, and uh I'm not really travelling again until doing a mission in June. Um but then yeah, really for the summer I'm back and uh getting my head down and writing some stuff. But uh yeah, last two weeks I was in um Portsmouth at uh KCC Church, King's Community Church in Hedge End, just next to um just next to Southampton. Uh two Sundays ago. Um so a big sort of New Frontiers Church, Charismatic Church. Um and they they really build it as a um a guest Sunday and bring along your friends, and yeah, people did bring along friends, and we we saw four people coming forward afterwards and saying I want to follow Jesus. That was that was really um exciting. And then what was interesting for me is the following Sunday I was preaching at um uh a very straight-laced um Presbyterian church in Northern Ireland, um, and it wasn't even a guest service. It was um it was actually meant to be equipping them in mission. I did a thing on on uh Philippians chapter two and how an outgoing God makes an outgoing people, and I just preached on that for Christians to enthuse them about about mission. And uh and a guy seems to have trusted Christ for the first time there as well. I just thought, isn't that brilliant that the you know the gospel is powerful? Yeah. Whenever it's unleashed, for whatever purpose that it's unleashed, in whatever context that it's unleashed. Um yeah, the gospel is powerful. The word of God is like seed and it brings life in all sorts of different conditions.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, all sorts of different denominations, you know, and you can the gospel isn't denominational.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah, exactly. Exactly. And as as long as you're lifting up the name of Jesus, that's powerful. Um so yeah, so that was encouraging to see. I was working with uh that church and a whole bunch of different churches in Bangor in Northern Ireland, and I'll be going back again next year to do some mission, uh some more concerted uh a week of mission in May twenty eighteen. But uh yeah, but it's been nice to come back to Eastbourne and sort of yeah, to be able to settle down and and uh and face a summer of of writing and uh doing some more resources.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. So this has been like the end of a a missionary journey, if you like. Reading this morning about you know they completed the completed the work. The journey, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, yeah. So my my first missionary journey of twenty seventeen is over. And uh yeah, no, it's it's been good. God God's been very good, actually, and uh it's just such a privilege to be able to scatter the seed far and wide, both university missions and church-based missions, and yeah, as far far afield as Northern Ireland and and and close closer to home as well. So praise God and uh let's let's be praying for a different kind of fruitfulness as as we work on resources, videos and books and courses.

SPEAKER_03

So if you wanted to uh keep up with uh our updates, we've got updates on our website which kind of give you a little bit of a flavour of uh what goes on at Speak Life. Just go to speaklife.org.uk and you can sign up as well to the emails and uh we can keep you informed of what's going on. We've also got in September a new um uh term, if you like, of uh studying with Union and studying with us in September if uh folks wanted to do um like a a day study with us whilst in a placement somewhere.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, so a day a week of study, well a day a week of lectures and then a further day a week um of uh of of reading and and uh and assignments and that sort of thing. So yeah, would you like to are you in a position to do a part-time theology degree? Uh we uh we would love to have you with us studying together, but even more than that, can you join us and go on mission together with us and produce resources together with us? Um get in touch, we'd love to hear from you.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, great. Okay, so the ascension then. Yeah. You say it's uh the answer to the terrorism Trump Brexit.

SPEAKER_01

Yes.

SPEAKER_03

It's the answer to everything, man. Football tr yeah, whatever. Um but first uh what what is the ascension? Let's define what is the ascension?

SPEAKER_02

Okay, first thing to think is Jesus is our great high priest. And what does a priest do? A priest kind of brings God to you and brings you to God. That's the priest's job. Jesus is the eternal high priest of the Father, and he is kind of God towards man and he is man towards God. So think about it that way. So so the eternal Son of God is, he's God towards man. So as Jesus comes towards us in his high priestly role, he is mediating God's presence to us. So read through the gospels, and what are you saying? You're saying Jesus being God to you and doing good to you with all his divine omnipotence. That that is what Jesus is, he's the great high priest bringing God to you, but as he comes to us, he's coming to us in all our sin and wickedness and rebellion and darkness, and what does he have to do as the great high priest is he has to take that onto himself. So as he he is he is the God man bringing God to us, but he assumes all our darkness and wickedness and sin and rebellion, he takes that to the hellish death it deserves on the cross, and he rises up again, and then he kind of turns around, and now he is man facing God. So the first movement of the great high priest is he is God facing man, takes all that belongs to man, puts it to death, rises up again, and then he is man facing God. And the beauty of the ascension is we are we are watching our brother, the great high priest, ascend the hill of the Lord and go back into God's presence on our behalf. So one of the Psalms I'm thinking of is is Psalm twenty-four, this this beautiful Psalm of Ascension. Um who may ascend the hill of the Lord, who may stand in his holy place? This is Psalm twenty-four, verse three. Psalm twenty four verse four, he who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false, he will receive blessing from the Lord and vindication from God his Saviour. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. So you know, who can stand in heaven? Which which man can possibly stand on the holy hill of the Lord? And the answer is really none of us. None of us. We we are all sinful, we should all be barred from heaven. But suddenly here is this man who is ascending up to God. And verse seven, you've got this this sort of the call from the angels Lift up your heads, O you gates, be lifted up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is this King of Glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle. Lift up your heads, O you gates, lift them up, you ancient doors, that the King of glory may come in. Who is he this King of Glory? The Lord Almighty, he is the King of glory. And what's wonderful about the Ascension is not only is he the Lord of Almighty, not only is he the King of glory, he is my brother. He is my priest, he is bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. He is a man entering heaven on his own account, under his own steam, because of his own righteousness, and this is unprecedented. You know, no man belongs in heaven because God has eyes too pure to even look on evil, and yet here is this man ascending up to the Father. And he hasn't just gone up there on his own behalf, he's gone up there as my great high priest. So beautifully, you know, you go back to the Old Testament and you and you ask, what does the high priest wear when he does his priestly activity? And actually, one of the things he wears is a breastplate that has the twelve gemstones. Why twelve?

SPEAKER_03

Twelve uh tribes.

SPEAKER_02

Twelve tribes, exactly. The twelve sons of Israel are on his heart. So he's wearing God's people on his heart. And then his his whole thing, the high priest in the Old Testament, was to perform the sacrifices, and then on the day of atonement, he would go into, he would ascend into the most holy place, and he would, you know, spread around incense, which refers to the prayers of the saints. And on the basis of the blood that was shed in sacrifice, the great high priest ascends into the most holy place, and he carries his people with him on his heart. What do we see when we see the ascension? We see the great high priest, we see the eternal Son of God, he has come towards us as the great God man, he has assumed our humanity, he's put it to death in all all its sin, and he's raised it up again, and now as the great man God, he is now man towards the Father, and he is ascending the hill of the Lord, and he's carrying us on his heart with him. So that now, what can we say because of our ascended high priest, because of our ascended high priest, there is someone on the throne of the Lord, someone who is praying right now that the true incense of his prayer is being spread around in the most holy place, and he's praying for you and me. And I just find that stunning, you know. If you knew that in the next room Jesus was there and he was praying for you, if you knew that literally through that wall, Jesus is there and he's on his knees and he's praying for you, wouldn't that give you courage? That would give you huge courage. Well, distance makes no difference. He's still praying for you. And he's actually praying for you in the throne room of God, and he's doing that for you right now, and all because of the ascension. So hallelujah. Happy Ascension Day.

SPEAKER_03

That's all very well, Glenn, but uh, what has he got to do with the election?

SPEAKER_02

What's that got to do with the election? Okay, so that's that's the truth of the ascension. Now, how does it refer to these other things? Okay, so the election. It's fascinating, isn't it, that we believe in democracy, and you know, um you know not as this absolute thing, because absolute you know, God's kind of a monarchist in the in the sense that, you know, um nobody elected him, you know. Um, but in in the sense that, you know, in terms of human government, it seems to be, you know, the worst kind of human government barring all the others, right? Um but the whole idea of uh of democracy is kind of it's rule of the people, for the people, and by the people. Right? And so what is the ascension? It's actually that one of us gets to sit on the throne and be in charge. So that literally if democracy is about sending your representative to the seat of power, you know, uh on election day, June the 8th, in in in the UK, we'll be sending our representative to Westminster, you know, in our name and on our behalf. And that representative, wherever we are, in what whatever constituency we're in, that's our representative. And you know, there used to be a saying, you know, send your man to Westminster, send your man to the seat of power back before, you know, it was men or women. But you know, so now it's it's it's sending your representative so that as one of you they sit in the seat of power and they have a place at the table, and you know, they rule the rule, the rule is, you know, of the people, for the people, and by the people.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so what is what is the ascension? The ascension is literally our representative has gone to the seat of power, and he's one of us. He's from our constituency, he's a local. He's a local. Like he knows he knows everything about the needs of our constituency, right?

SPEAKER_03

And he's in communion with the father, and yeah, he can bring uh things, you know, that trouble us.

SPEAKER_02

Yes. Yeah, exactly. Exactly. So, you know, someone someone in your local constituency who can say, Look, I'm a local, I grew up here, and I know that our hospital trust is underfunded because, you know, I had this, you know, my child was sick, and you know, I w I would send lots more money to the NHS because I've had this local experience in this local constituency. Like that's a real a a real vote winner because we want the person in charge to know what it's like here in the trenches. Well, hallelujah. Actually, the one who is actually in charge is not Theresa May, and it's it's it's not Donald Trump and it's not any of these earthly rulers. Actually, it's it's a local boy, right? It's a local lad who has gone through the suffering of this world so much more than us, and human role rulers will come and will go, and this election will come and this election will go, but the true representative who truly represents our interests has gone to the seat of power, and that gives you confidence, I think.

SPEAKER_03

So why is the Ascension the answer to Brexit then?

SPEAKER_02

Brexit, okay. I mean it's interesting with Brexit. Um a friend of mine straight after you know like the June twenty fourth decision on the UK leaving the EU was a shock to everybody. And I remember you know waking up and seeing it on the BBC News, you know, app. I was like, really? Am I have I read that right? And then I went on Twitter and the first thing I read was from a a friend of mine, and he just said, Oh well, still united to Jesus.

unknown

Right?

SPEAKER_02

Still united to Jesus. And I think um amid all the sort of the turmoil of what will what will Brexit mean? And will and will it be a hard Brexit or a soft Brexit or that kind of thing. It it it is that uncertainty of what does life look like when you're out of union because you've been used to that kind of union and and you won't be used to that. It'll it'll be a new kind of relationship that you've got to forge both with Europe and the rest of the world on your own two feet, and that's and that's hugely um anxiety producing for for a lot of people. But uh, you know, while there will be a Brexit, there cannot be a Crexit, okay? There can be no exit of Christ from heaven, right? Which means there can be no exit of me from heaven. Which is stunning, isn't it? That I've I've been carried on the heart of Christ into the throne room of God, and the only way I can tumble into hell now is if Jesus does. I am so united to Christ now that He is my identity, He is you know the centre of my world, and He has taken me into the heart of God's. And I'm not going anywhere. There will not be a Brexit in that sense, there will not be a Crexit, okay? There will be no exit of Christ from heaven, which means there can be no exit of myself from heaven. So whatever else happens in the in the political realm, I'm okay, you know. Still united to Jesus.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, yeah. Um we've just recently had the um the terrorist attack in Manchester. Um so what can we l learn from its relation to to terrorism?

SPEAKER_02

It's uh I mean it's absolutely heartbreaking, absolutely heartbreaking. And and to I was just in in in floods of tears driving home yesterday, just hearing mothers who didn't know where their daughters were and say, I just want to hold her in my arms again. I just want to hold her in my arms again. And that that is probably the most anguished cry that you can imagine. The cry of a mother for her little girl who doesn't just want to see her little girl again, who wants to hold her in her arms again. And you know, there's lots to say on the subject of suffering. One thing to say on the subject of suffering is look, the one who is on the throne is someone who knows about suffering. And if it was just that there is a god who is distant and has never experienced life in the raw and they are in power, um, I don't think that would be any comfort to anybody. But the idea that the one on the s on the throne of the universe has scars that's that's something in the midst of suffering. And the fact that Christ has gone through suffering and out the other side into a risen glory, that the bodily, physical, resurrected Jesus Christ has gone to the throne room and he is a pledge of what creation is being, you know, drawn into that gives hope as well. That that our hope beyond death is not just some kind of grand reunion of souls at the end of all things, but our hope is that those in Christ will see one another and hold each other in our arms again. Um So those are a couple of things that you can say about it, but but also I mean it's been very interesting with the um every every time terrorism strikes, you know, instantly there's a pray for Manchester, and instantly there's a kind of a well prayer is the problem, religion is the problem, right? You know, and so there's this undifferentiated view of all religion, and so some guy, he's obviously representing all Islam, and not just all Islam, he's obviously representing all religion. Um and so what we need is is less of the religious stuff, because religion leads to bombings and those sorts of things. What is what does the you know so so Ricky Gervais, for instance, um he he tweeted out he's you know he's always such a you know cool headed man in a crisis, don't you think? He kind of Poor Pouring oil on troubled waters, Ricky Gervais tweets remember, a fundamentalist terrorist is Just someone who takes the crazy evil mental bleep in their guide book seriously. Um and so he's just basically saying, you know, that terrorist was just doing what all religious people do, but he's just taking it a little bit more seriously. Um but you know, it uh it it we should never tire of saying it depends what you follow extremely. Extremism is neither here nor there. It depends what it is you're following extremely. Radicalism is neither here nor there, it defend it depends what you are following radically. And yeah, if if you do follow a warlord who did say, I have been made victorious through terror, then m there will be people who who follow that leader to extremes and you get that kind of outcome. That's true, but what if you what if you follow Jesus to extremes? And the the incredible thing about the ascension is at the centre of the throne is a lamb. Right? So so Revelation a couple of times says the lamb is at the centre of the throne. That's the truth of the ascension. But the truth of the ascension is the one that died for his enemies is the one now ruling the world. So at the very centre of godness at the very centre of deity, at the very centre of divine glory, is a bleeding sacrifice who loves his enemies. And the more you extremely follow him, the more you'd be likely to die for your enemies rather than kill them. So Ricky Gervais, you know, there are fundamentalisms that you don't want to follow because there are there are extremes that you can take things to.

SPEAKER_03

I mean he he's an outspoken atheist. Yeah. Um I mean atheism itself through, you know, Stalin or Lenin or any of those has has been just if not terribly worse than many religious.

SPEAKER_02

So yeah, so let's translate Ricky Gervais's tweet. Remember, a fundamentalist Stalinist is just someone who takes the crazy evil mental bleep in Das Capital seriously, or you know. So yeah, so it's not just a it's not just a problem for religion. What about what about taking Marx to extremes? What about taking Darwin to extremes? You know, and saying that the survival of the fittest means that the fittest should survive? Well, you're only a hop, skip, and a jump. You know, from just saying that the fittest do survive to saying the fit the fittest should survive. Isn't that somebody taking Darwin to extremes? Um So it's not about extremism, it's it's about what it is that you take to extremes. And the an Ascension Day teaches us that at the very centre of what it is to be God is to be self-giving love. So if you're gonna centre yourself extremely on the lamb at the centre of the throne, then you're gonna be somebody who's actually a person of peace rather than a person of war.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Okay. Well, we'll move on. Why is the Ascension the answer to Trump?

SPEAKER_02

The answer to Trump, well, I mean it's you don't you don't want to just jump on a bandwagon. It's very easy to lay into Trump because he is He does seem morally unqualified for the job. Um and this is not to you know politically and politically Yeah, I mean I'm not gonna comment on on any any of his policies, but you know, here is a man who is extremely indiscreet in what he says, and then when in his candid moments, lets us into a whole pile of um bigotry and s and sexism and and all sorts of stuff, which which is not great, is it, let's be honest. Um so I I think, you know, some of the war on Trump um i is unfair in one sense, but oh my goodness, um doesn't he bring it on himself um in in terms of some of the statements that he makes. But what do we what do we what do we get when we come to Jesus? Our the true one at the centre of power is not Donald Trump. And praise God, what we've got in Hebrews 7 verse 26 is Jesus Christ, who such a high priest meets our need, one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens. Isn't that what we want? Um holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners. And it's so easy to lay into Trump and just forget that every ruler um is deficient morally, because I'm deficient morally. You know, and actually one of the one of the reasons why we absolutely crucify our leaders is cause we because we kind of expect them to be gods. We expect them to be messiahs, right? And you know, I mean rem remember Obama and those, you know, very messianic kind of expectations that were placed on his shoulders in 08, and he was the candidate of hope, and yes we can, and he used to say, you know, we are the ones that we've been waiting for. So the the whole Obama movement. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the Messiah, right? And then on on the other side of you know, him being in power, you just look around and you say, Well, the world is still going on and it's still nonsense, and you know, that country then event elects Trump, and you know. So So the Ascension absolutely prevents us from making earthly rulers into the Messiah because they are not the ones who are on the throne. Jesus is. And how wonderful to know that He is one who is holy, blameless, pure, and set apart from sinners. Hallelujah.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, then last one. Why is the Ascension the answer to the football transfer market?

SPEAKER_02

That's the question everyone's asking, isn't it? Um Well, I mean, big it's a big week in football, so we're we're recording before the Europa Cup final, and we're recording before the FA Cup final, so I don't know who's gonna win those. But once those are over, the big news on the back pages is gonna be the football transfer markets. And how much silly money we're gonna throw at these teenagers from Brazil and Spain and Italy. Um and the answer is gonna be a lot, a lot of money is gonna be thrown at people and the big speculation is Alexe Sanchez gonna go to Bayern Munich, is he gonna go to Manchester City? Who knows? But we all know that he's gonna be paid a lot of money to kick a ball around. Like, why? Why? Well, it's because of the myth of the one man, okay. The myth of the one man is that Alexis Sanchez is gonna come into somebody's team and absolutely turn their fortunes around and you know they might have been headed for relegation and now they're gonna be headed for glory because the one man coming into the team is gonna, you know, absolutely change everything. And of course it's a myth and it never works, but we still throw buckets of money um at this myth. But imagine that it works. And imagine the one man comes into your football team, and they are failing, and they are headed for relegation, but somehow he turns it all around and he changes the the the the the whole attitude in the in the dressing room and he scores in every game and he gets you up through the league and down through the cup, and you're there at Wembley at the final, and he scores twice in the final minute to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, and you're jumping up and down because you've always believed in this guy, and he's done it, and he wins, and you celebrate because he is your champion, and that's how Christians feel about Jesus, right? Yeah. Yeah, of course it is. Of course it is. Because he is he is the one man who has come into a failing situation. Team Earth is headed for relegation, but he is the great high priest, and he comes and he wears our colours, he becomes man, and he takes onto his shoulders everything that we are about. You know, when a footballer joins a new club, every goal they score now accumulates to accrues to the football team. Everything Jesus does, he does for us. Every goal he scores. You know, he scores the winner over sin and sickness and death and hell and nature and evil. He scores the winner over them all, and he comes to us and he says, It's for you, it's for you. He wins and we celebrate. So the myth of the one man comes true in Jesus. So maybe we don't need to spend so much money on these footballers as though they are Messiah figures. And if your team is Arsenal, and I don't know if they're gonna win or lose the FA Cup final. I know they're out of Europe next next year, and that's a that's a massive tragedy, and they're gonna lose Alexei Sanchez. But you know, that's okay because the one man Jesus Christ has scored the winner, and 1 Corinthians 15, verse 57 says, Thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

SPEAKER_03

Well, we've done it, Glenn.

SPEAKER_02

We've done it. We've done it. Happy Ascension Day.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah terrorism, Trump, Brexit, the election, and football transfers.

SPEAKER_02

And football transfers. Yeah, we've done it all. It's the ascension, the ascension is a lot more central than than people think. You know, it's and it's just true. Right now, Jesus Christ is at the right hand of the Father, interceding for you. That's pretty good to know. And your your Christian life is not as good as your last week. Okay? If it was, you'd be in trouble. Okay. If it was, you'd be yo-yoing in and out of God's presence. But you're not yo-yoing in and out of God's presence. You're always up.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Because you're always in Christ, and there he is, and the only way you're going to hell is if Christ goes to hell. He's not going to hell. He's ascended on high. Hallelujah.

SPEAKER_03

Excellent. Amen. Okay, well, we better begin to sign off now.

SPEAKER_02

Begin to sign off.

SPEAKER_03
