Today on the Evangelist Podcast, O Christmas Dream.

SPEAKER_00

The Evangelist Podcast from Revival. Find out what's new in telling people the good news about God, the world, and you with Andy Brinkley and Glenn Scrivener.

SPEAKER_01

Welcome back to the Evangelist Podcast. We're doing an impromptu impromptu recording today from Glenn's office. It's a bit more echoey, but uh computer fan noise and cars going by. It's uh very authentic. That's right. This is what it's like to be me. Yeah, welcome.

SPEAKER_05

Welcome into my head.

SPEAKER_01

Um we're just quickly going to um uh run through what uh what we've been doing recently. We've been doing this uh this video. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Uh and uh we you've heard all about it if you're a regular listener to the podcast. Yes, okay. We we finally released it. Yeah. Um give us a little uh teaser, then.

SPEAKER_05

I think it began it began life as a sort of a sermon illustration, and then I've used it in 321 as an illustration of you know the race of Adam is sort of cut off from God. Um used it in various places, but we thought we'd film it. That the human race is like a Christmas tree, cut off, wrenched from its natural habitat, disconnected, perishing, but dressed up in all sorts of you know, decorations and you know this is the human race. But the good news of Christmas is that Jesus is really earthed into our humanity, but he is also connected to his life sourcing God, and so he is the true flourishing tree that we can get grafted into. So that's the big idea behind it. And uh I kind of I thought I was just gonna sort of speak to camera and do the story, but as I sort of started writing the script, um I just kept having a Christmas tree going through my head, so I thought, well, let's let's just give this a go and try and doctor the words. So that's what we tried to do, and then we got a choir together, um, a wonderful choir together, so um it all came together.

SPEAKER_01

So uh we'll give you the link for that because uh it would be great if you could watch it uh and pass it on to your Facebook friends or Twitter feed. Um you just simply go to revivalmedia.org slash o Christmas Tree, and that's O without the H. That's right. O Christmas Reader.

SPEAKER_05

Not the letter not the number zero, but the the letter O. Okay. Yes. O Christmas tree.

SPEAKER_01

Uh but also we've had uh you've had an a baby born.

SPEAKER_05

Well, uh yes, the less exciting baby born is my book. Um so yeah, 321, the book is out, and it's it's a really beautiful little thing to hold in your hand. So Jeremy Poyner, who did the cover and the and the typesetting, did a fantastic job, and it's all nicely embossed, and uh it's very nice to hold in your hand. I'm not gonna I'm not gonna say it's uh it's any good on the inside, you'll have to be the judge of that. But um yeah, it's great to hold and great to give away to a friend. So uh perhaps that's something you can uh purchase, buy it, read it, and pass it on. That's the idea.

SPEAKER_01

Excellent. Uh and the actual baby.

SPEAKER_05

The actual baby, yes, the scrivener baby is due uh goodness like in nine days' time, so um could come anytime. So uh yes, we're we're waiting. Our donkey is saddled, uh waiting to take us to Bethlehem uh for the birth of a less important baby, but for quite important to us.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah, excellent. Okay, well this time we're going to uh we're gonna play the music of the video, the background track to it. Um do go and watch it on uh revivalmedia.org slash o Christmas Tree. Um and as I say, do share it. Uh you can find the links to get the book as well, uh, and we'll we'll embed the video as well on this podcast page, which is revivalmedia.org slash TEP79. Uh and next week uh we're going to do uh you're gonna preach a sermon.

SPEAKER_05

I'm gonna preach a sermon from the past. Yeah. A little bit of a time machine. So uh yes, I'll I'll hopefully be off. Um not only with Christmas, but then with baby. And so uh yeah. So we'll we'll listen to a sermon of mine in the in the past, and hopefully that'll tide you over until the new year.

SPEAKER_01

Okay, that's it for now. See you next time. Bye.
