Asheville Triathlon Recap: What we learned about having a triathlon during COVID-19
Jul 28, 2020 Season 1 Episode 4
Daphne Kirkwood and Stephanie Buss

Owner and Race Director Daphne Kirkwood and Marketing Coordinator Stephanie Buss discuss a recap of the Asheville Triathlon in Hendersonville, which took place Sunday, July 19th. The event had to be moved to a new location due to COVID-19, and many new guidelines were put in place including changes such as transition zones in vehicles, temperature screenings, distanced wave starts and limited spectators and volunteers, just to name a few. The event was a success and participants were happy to be racing again in a world where sport events have changed significantly and most events have been cancelled. The Asheville Triathlon is the only triathlon taking place currently in the Western Carolina Area.
