Gospel of Luke - Week 9

Celebration Church Season 4 Episode 9

Join Pastors Mike Day, Melissa Perry, and Jennifer Davis as they tackle Luke 16:1–15—one of the most difficult parables Jesus shared—and discover what Jesus’ story of the dishonest manager exposes about commitment, creativity, and calling.

  • Commitment: The manager’s crisis sparked shrewd, focused action. Are we that committed to the life-changing news we carry, or do we treat discipleship like a short-lived diet?
  • Crisis clarifies: When life shakes, priorities surface. A sturdy foundation in Christ holds; a flimsy one shows.
  • Creativity with the gospel: Don’t stay inside church walls. See everyday spaces—bleachers, workplaces, neighborhood game nights—as mission fields.
  • New metrics: Health isn’t just “How many were here Sunday?” but “How many were sent and active Monday–Saturday?” Testimonies and even anonymous prayer requests show people embedded in others’ lives.
  • Keep it simple, prayerful: You don’t need all the answers. Pray, “Lord, show me opportunities,” notice them, and show up. Share what God is doing when you come back.

A practical, hope-filled episode inviting us to live as sent people—present, prayerful, and ready to report back what God does.

This podcast is designed to go hand-in-hand with our church-wide Luke series—helping us dig deeper, ask honest questions, and keep our faith stirred with fresh wonder at who Jesus is and what He calls us to.
