Hi, welcome back to my podcast!

Since my last episode, the second book of what I fondly refer to as The Truth Trilogy has been well-received. The third and final one is coming out on 15th July and I am very grateful to those of you who have already pre-ordered a copy. This is the first time I’ve had a book climb to #3 in new releases without yet being published!

A Blazing Truth was fun to write, but also challenging. The phenomenon of priests being cancelled by their superiors for doing their job properly is, I think, a new one and it is to be seen how it will play out in real life.

A Church in Danger

In the introduction to the book, I make the point that I, and much smarter people than myself, believe that the Catholic Church will eventually have to go underground. The current secular agenda being pushed on us is very hostile to Christians in general, and the Catholic Church in particular. A culture which insists there is no objective truth does not tolerate a religion which insists there is.

Sin Has Been Cancelled

Unfortunately, there exists within the Catholic Church a powerful cadre that wishes to do away with the objective truth that there is such a thing as sin. While we as Christians are supposed to be in the world but not of the world, these persons have chosen to pander to the whims of the times. They imagine themselves to know better than the saints of the past two thousand years, to be wiser than the martyrs and holy people who have defended the truth at the cost of their lives. Apparently, they had no idea what they were talking about. The Bible got it wrong. Times have changed, we’ve moved on, and the Church has to do the same.

Unenlightened Priests Must Go!

So any priests who don’t go along with this ‘enlightened’ thinking must be punished. And so, the number of cancelled clergy is growing. They are being robbed of their vocations and we, the laity, are being robbed of our good and holy shepherds.

In the introduction to this latest book, I also mention the example of a priest who was removed from ministry by his bishop. The prelate clarifies that the priest didn’t overstep Catholic teaching, but caused division ‘by presenting such teaching so clearly that it causes offense.’  Christ often caused offense; the Truth will always divide people into those who accept it and those who don’t.  Jesus at least told them what the Truth was, so they could decide for themselves.

Take the passage in Luke’s Gospel (12:51) where Christ asks his Apostles if they imagine that He’s come to bring peace to the earth? Jesus responds, “No, I tell you, but division.”

Shepherds of the Future

We need to help those priests who refuse to cave into the muddled thinking of so many in the Church today. Which is why I am such a strong supporter of the Coalition for Canceled Priests. We will need these men to fortify our faith in the dark days ahead. They are the shepherds of the future, the leaders who will bring truth and light to the world when the current madness is over, when Satan loses his foothold, and a smaller but purer Catholic Church emerges from the rubble to glorify God.

A Blazing Truth

I wish the situations described in A Blazing Truth were purely fictitious. Nevertheless I hope you enjoy reading this last book of the trilogy, in which Father James, Bishop Marsden and Mark Boulder face choices that will determine where they spend eternity.

Thank you for listening, and thank you for reading!

 God bless.
