In this practice, I first explain the purpose of relaxation meditations versus active meditations, before diving into how this particular active mindfulness practice works.

Sometimes our mind can feel really busy when we sit to meditate or try to be mindful, but instead of going into the story behind each thought and getting caught way up in them, it's a useful tool to practice objecting observing thoughts and then categorising them based on common themes or characteristics.

This way, we're acknowledging the thought, but using the information from it rather than having to unpack it all, all at once.

The first half is more educational and explanation, with the second half being your guided practice.
