Pete's retirement ceremony takes center stage as the Unpopular Celebrities crew unpacks what made it special—from General Sherman's unprecedented gesture of kneeling before Pete's family to the diamond formation that sparked passionate debate among the hosts. The raw emotions, careful planning, and inevitable "Bridezilla" moments of military farewells reveal deeper truths about service and separation.

Against this celebration of service, the conversation shifts to profound loss. The hosts discuss the tragic death of 21-year-old Airman Lovin after an accidental weapon discharge, questioning whether the M18 handgun has fundamental safety issues or if this represents a failure of training and procedures. This thoughtful examination of accountability and responsibility highlights the real-world consequences when systems fail young defenders.

The discussion weaves through recent celebrity passings—Malcolm Jamal Warner's heroic final act saving his daughter, Hulk Hogan's complicated legacy, and what it means to see the icons of your youth departing. These reflections on mortality lead into lighter territory with Glorilla's bizarre arrest after reporting her own home robbery (prompting the practical advice: "If you got drugs in your house, don't call the cops!"), Travis Hunter's apparent marital troubles after rejecting prenup advice, and a spirited debate about WNBA pay demands.

Through personal stories, unfiltered opinions, and genuine camaraderie, this episode balances serious subjects with humor and heart. Whether you've served in uniform or simply appreciate authentic conversation about life's transitions, this candid discussion offers wisdom wrapped in wit and delivered with unflinching honesty.

Speaker 2

The other guy.

Speaker 1

Yes.

Speaker 2

Everybody put in the comments in the chat. Congratulations to my boy, pete, for retiring yesterday at the 20 plus years and the united states air force. His ceremony was off the chain. It was good. Thanks big homie timely it was timely, great words. My man said some great words on stage. That's memorable, you know, probably the only downside or negative point was, you know, he dropped some f-bombs but you know, cops, you know I gotta drop the a didn't.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I gotta drop the bombs. Yeah, they didn't have this. So we're gonna talk about his ceremony.

Speaker 2

We're gonna talk about some other things Warren, the untimely passing of a young airman in FE. Warren, after the weapons discharge. We're going to talk about some passing of some folks the immortal Hulk Hogan, malcolm Jamal Warner, ozzy Osbourne and such. And then we'll talk a little bit about the WNBA and, of course, anything you guys want to talk about. Chime in in the comments if it's something you want us to cover, so, that being said, over to you first of all, terrell Farrar what up, big dog?

Speaker 1

the diamond formation was a big success, a big hit, big success, and everybody except for one person loves it, and that person is not me.

Speaker 2

I didn't say I didn't like it. I just think it's kind of lame you know, what I'm saying.

Speaker 2

I'm good with it. Diamond, diamond, sharp, sharp diamond. Diamond, diamond, diamond, sharp, sharp, sharp, sharp, sharp. The formation is off the chain. I like that, I like the precision, I like the professionalism. Y'all look sharp in service dress with your diamonds shining. It's just that chant man, he be sharp, sharp, sharp, sharp, sharp. Diamond, diamond, diamond, diamond, sharp, sharp, sharp, sharp. Hey, real talk. Somebody behind me was like yo, chief, why did Chief still have a chant? Because we smart. I was about to say that. That's why we don't need no chat. We too busy doing shit.

Speaker 1

No, but first of all BS, y'all too busy doing stuff. That's number one. Oh, I ain't got YouTube up. God dog it. Davis, I see your PJ, I see your thing. Uh, why don't I have this set up? Hold on hold on hold on peace, peace, peace, peace, peace, peace peace peace, peace, peace, peace.

Speaker 2

Current time is local, as every event uh, I gotta set this up.

Speaker 1

Alright, pause. I can see his comments. I don't know why they're not coming through, so I'll stop this. Select my activation already added. No, it didn't, so cancel that. Select it. There we go yo.

Speaker 2

While he's doing that, anybody else was there at Pete's joint or maybe watch it virtually. Put down in the chat your comments thumbs up, halfway or down.

Speaker 1

I'm struggling. So all you two people, I'll see your comments, I'll read them in. If you're on Facebook, they'll arrive on the screen, but right now youtube is not trying to roll with your boy. Very irritating, uh. So let's do this.

Speaker 2

Oh man, why every time I do that it kicks me out what you guys been doing this weekend, putting the comments which I've been doing this weekend, putting the comments which I've been doing this weekend. I'm looking at the comments, man. I don't see no comments. Y'all, let's see, I see a couple. I see Justin. He says congratulations on your retirement ceremony, pete. Much appreciated my bro.

Speaker 1

My boy PJ. If you're still in YouTube, can you throw a comment up there? What's up? Loggins Yo, not Loggins in the stream, Todd Simmons in the stream. Man, we must be somebody, Got to be somebody.

Speaker 2

Todd, what's up bro?

Speaker 1

Nah, him saying congratulations, Said we made it. I know you wanted to be there, I know it's just so. Tell your daughter happy birthday, it's all right. I know you wanted to be there, I know it's just so. Tell your daughter happy birthday, it's all right, it's all good. We'll see each other again, definitely, definitely see each other again.

Speaker 2

Hey, shameless plug man. Y'all check out Todd and K Wright's podcast Two.

Speaker 1

Nights in the Mic yeah.

Speaker 2

Yeah, Two Nights, Two Nights in the Mic Todd. Was that based off of that nine song?

Speaker 1

there's a night song. I'm curious. Justin said just got back from AFSA conference it was great per usual that's what's up. I'm curious got it active. Thank you, pj, good looking out. Yes, sir Loggins, you ain't nothing, I know, I know I'm about to call you later. I might be headed out to Utah in a couple weeks. Might, big, big might on that. Yeah, let's see. Ferrari said congratulations, pete Philly. A hater, though Mad because the Chiefs passed the cheap-ass horse and don't say nothing.

Speaker 2

You hater, that's what I was going to say. You hater, what's up, shanks? They hate us because they ain't us.

Speaker 1

Thanks, we got to talk about job opportunities. Yo what?

Speaker 3

are the illest dudes that got out.

Speaker 1

Doubled down, tripled down, got a job. Successful young man, most definitely. I can't wait to see Todd's comment. It feels a lot better calling you Todd now that I'm officially unofficially retired. It feels a lot easier.

Speaker 2

Yo, columbia Southern University mascot our sponsors. What did I?

Speaker 1

miss Columbia Southern. It's on the nights. Did you say it's off of the night songs? Two Nights and a Night is off of Columbia Southern University. What was?

Speaker 2

that song? Oh, you know what I'm thinking about, that Black Moon song. What was that song? Oh, you know what I'm thinking about, that Black Moon song, two Turntables and a Mic.

Speaker 1

Oh yeah, hey, so real quick. Retirement ceremony was a huge success. Shout out to my lieutenant and Davis for putting that together. For me, man, that was huge bro. If anybody knows, putting together any retirement ceremony is quite difficult.

Speaker 2

Farrar called me Bridezilla. Bridezilla, oh, you got just playing. What's up girl?

Speaker 1

oh, hold on, let me throw her in. Hold on, hold on, hold on, don't nobody say nothing.

Speaker 2

Hold on oh, you got the. You got the triangle defense in. Now shoot triangle defense.

Speaker 3

Congratulations p.

Speaker 1

Thank you I appreciate it, thank you. Give me whatever I was talking yesterday. I'm sure you were, I'm sure you were I got you big homie, uh. But yeah, they call me bridezilla man. I just you don't want things to go correctly, you know. I mean just want to make sure everything goes right. I just want to make sure protocol is done. Just got to be making successful. I didn't want to be too far over the top. I didn't want to be 10 hours long, like somebody was, so I want to just make it shorter. I want to respect people's times as you guys go into your retirement ceremony. Respect people's time. We shouldn't be there for no god blessing, three freaking hours hearing about when you were a baby in the day.

Speaker 1

Woo how you was. Salute your mama's belly and shit. That's not what we need to hear about, are we you?

Speaker 3

know, like, like, oh, I can't wait, like peace.

Speaker 1

Like peace, like peace, like Peace. Oh, I can't wait. Hey, I'm finna. Call out Laves. I don't give a damn, I was. Hello, come on.

Speaker 3

Right Hold on Hold on Hold on Hold on Hold on Hold on Hold on Hold on.

Speaker 2

Hold on.

Speaker 3

Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. I don't think you downloaded that DD214 yet, right? Because baby.

Speaker 1

It's not till January, Yo, but like.

Speaker 3

I was already like.

Speaker 1

Well, hold up, mine's gonna be eight hours. I ain't gonna be there, I'm gonna walk out.

Speaker 2

Oh man, Eight hours.

Speaker 1

Yeah, ain't nobody gonna be there for eight hours sitting there with a slumber party and bringing out snacks like we on an airplane and stuff. Got a stewardess coming around passing out fruits and drinks and stuff what the hell we doing? But my retirement ceremony was really good. I think it went really well. Everything went flawless. With all the practice that we do, you know you're always nervous if it's going to go right. Technology is one thing, so everything went really well. Hopefully the food was good. Everybody said they enjoyed the food, enjoyed the diamond formation. Of course General Sherman was General Sherman.

Speaker 1

Yeah, shout out to General Sherman man man, when y'all can speak on his level, bruh, bruh joint's impossible. That dude has a memory like what's that movie? Oh, y'all seen that show Suits? Y'all ain't never seen Suits, no.

Speaker 3

I know you ain't looking at us Like we crazy. We ain't never seen Suits Like. Know you ain't looking at us like we crazy. You ain't never seen us Like you. The same person ain't never seen us. I know, hey, cuckoo, cuckoo, that's Cuckoo, I'm not looking at us like y'all ain't never seen suits like you, right, I have Dora with boots and suits like hey, uh, I don't think I really cried.

Speaker 1

I don't think I really cried, I don't know, philly.

Speaker 2

You drank a lot of water.

Speaker 3

He had to get up and use the bathroom.

Speaker 2

Every time he's about to start crying. Well, I see your point.

Speaker 1

I didn't really cry, but allergies is a real thing in Arizona. You know my tears. My eyes were watering because of allergies. That's really about it, but the barbecue was banging. I like the barbecue that we had, so that was a good choice.

Speaker 2

It was good. It's just the mac and cheese was a little bit squishy man. It was not caramelized. I like it caramelized man man, a little burnt on the top okay, well for yours, we better have good back really you talking about that macaroni and cheese being burnt on the top?

Speaker 3

I thought that was, yeah, caramelized. Just you know how. I was just glad you ain't saying like what Cardi B be saying you know, in his song. Like I miss that.

Speaker 1

Look, Philly is a hater Hating on everything.

Speaker 3

Oh my goodness.

Speaker 1

Drink so much water he had to do an intermission in his ceremony. Yo, that water was clutch to keep me from crying, I ain't gonna lie. That little break I needed, that pause I needed. But it's hard to get up there and thank people. That journey's difficult. You gonna see, you gonna see.

Speaker 2

Oh me, yeah, man, I'm used to it, man, hey, y'all remember this.

Speaker 1

Y'all remember this. What's today, july 20,? What 7th, 28th, whatever today is, y'all remember this? What a month out from his.

Speaker 2

Mm-hmm. Yep, your boy got maybe two, three weeks to go, man Yo. But let me just unpack this for you. Right, it was a sunny day in Phoenix. My man gets up there. You know he's on stage. It's funny. This dude was him, was Pete? Through and through, through the walk, the mannerisms and everything. Who's the officiating your ceremony? Philly, this guy no.

Speaker 1

I'm emceeing it. Who's your official? Are you?

Speaker 2

Oh, my bad, my bad. Yeah, peter's emceeing it and my boss, major General Allen, he's going to officiate it.

Speaker 3

So if you're emceeing it, who's going to be the DJ? Tell Bracelet to slide.

Speaker 2

Oh, Bracelet is DJing, yeah.

Speaker 3

I need to see who's need to DJ during the day.

Speaker 2

Yo. So I'm going to let y'all know those who are coming. Reception that same night or same day, 1800 at the Randolph Club, kitty Bracely's going to be on the wheels of steel. Yo get there early. Pete Carey MC. Yo feel it though you. Pete Carey MC, yo feel it go, but he's going to memorize it though. Yep, you give me the script, he's going to memorize the script.

Speaker 1

Look at, dooley, you give me the script two weeks in advance.

Speaker 2

I'm going to be good, I'm going to be good.

Speaker 3

Oh wow, you got to commit to memory.

Speaker 1

That's all I do. That's the only way I can do it.

Speaker 2

That just shows how much faith I have on this guy, I'm going to have him do it.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's the only way I can do it. It's going to be my memory.

Speaker 2

Yeah, Kenny Brazley's going to DJ man. But anyway, this dude, you know how Pete, if y'all seen Pete, you know how he walks. There was no change in that during the ceremony, that same old you know what I'm saying the man changed. But yo, yo, yo, I will give my boy credit. I'm going to give my boy credit Because not only did he have a hope, he stayed practicing six months ago.

Speaker 3

Pete Bay Yo Terrell is on that neck tonight. Oh yeah, it's been crazy 22 August.

Speaker 2

Yeah, Dooley, man, you dirtbag. You said you couldn't come. Man, You're going to miss out. Hey, make sure y'all get there early.

Speaker 3

I'm putting 50 bucks on the bar man, I was just about to ask you have you increased it? Do we need to start a GoFundMe just for?

Speaker 2

that. That's funny, my man, Torrin Williams man. He said he's going to add another $10. So we have $60.

Speaker 3

Celebrities can add another $50. Hold on now, if y'all bring y'all bottles. You know, I got that Mixology certification. There you go oh.

Speaker 2

Yo change of plan. Kitty Brazley DJ, your girl, just Playa, gonna be doing mixology out there. You know what I'm saying. Get your old fashions together your mojitos, your exotic drinks and whatnot.

Speaker 3

Yep, I'm trying to create me one, now called Player on the Rocks.

Speaker 2

Oh, dooley, you good you coming. Hey, dooley, make sure you bring a gift, bro, bring a gift for your boy.

Speaker 1

GTC that thing, they're going to audit your paycheck. Before you get that last paycheck, go get audited.

Speaker 2

My supreme boss, Wendy, says retire with all your stripes.

Speaker 1

I can't do that.

Speaker 2

Retire with all your stripes Real quick. Let me give you your flowers, though. Here we go. Not only did he have General Sherman officiated, general Sherman went down there. I've never seen anyone, let alone a general officer, two-star leave the stage. Come down from the stage, get on one knee, look Pete's family in the eye and thank them personally for supporting this dude Everybody in the eye and thank them personally for supporting this dude, bro. Everybody in the audience was like oh. We was like what's going on? This dude, yo, that dude was smooth as silk.

Speaker 2

I was starting to wonder like damn, maybe I made a mistake. Maybe I should have had him initiate mine too. Sir, if you're listening, I'm still good with you, sir, I'm just saying, anyway, number two Pete didn't tell his family you know how you prep your family, especially if they've never been to an event Like, hey, this is what's the sequence of events, this is what's going to happen. Pete didn't do that, but it was perfect. You know why? Because the portion when they were handing out the flag, they went, folded the flag or whatever. Pete went down there, got the flag, walked to the second aisle because his, his, um, cousins and stuff was in the second aisle right and then he gave them the flag. You should have heard the, the crying and the gas of air from the people. She didn't know it was coming and, man, she was in tears. Man, I was like man. That was smooth as silk and it gets better.

Speaker 2

The part when they did the little diamond chant, that was kind of cool. When they went to the part, when the dude had the flag out the front, they got on for the first iron diamond. Pete called up his wife, his lovely bride Takiyah, to come up there and put the guide on on it. I'm like, bro, you go boy, you go boy. I was like man, don't mess it up, pete. I'm trying to give you a flower, don't mess it up. I was extremely impressed. Even my wife Wendy was like you know what? This is weird. Pete actually has a heart. He has a softer side.

Speaker 3

I'm telling you, it's like you're with somebody from the Wizard of Oz.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's you, pete. What about the slideshow?

Speaker 2

The slideshow was good. I thought it was really good. I think my only thing about the slide show was is at first there was some parts where there was some pauses and this was at the very end before he went up there did his remarks. But what I thought was great was he put some videos in there to catch some people off guard. There was this one video he did like a rendition of Training Day with this new trainer trainee he was doing for Training Day. He got some laughs and pops in the audience. You know I am a little disappointed, Wendy, and I are disappointed you did not put the picture in there of you with the afro, with the soccer ball.

Speaker 1

I'm a little disappointed in that. I don't have it. It got lost in TMO. Unfortunately, lost in TMO.

Paying for Retirement Functions

Speaker 2

Unfortunately, you guys need to see that picture. Maybe I don't know if I took a picture. Oh, one more flower. I'll give them a now pause. There was a part after the ceremony because Pete Sensei, who actually was on the show, shout out to him. He was there in attendance. Pete gave his Sensei his MSM decoration.

Speaker 2

That's right, this dude, this dude, look like you don't want to find him in the alleyway. He'll kick the snot out, kick your anyway. This dude was in tears, choked up, when he got his decoration. Man, I like man, look at pete. I won't tell the story about what happened when we went to the wmba game because he, he saved himself after that, because I'll pause uh, so I appreciate all that.

Speaker 1

But yeah, I mean, I've been knowing him since I was five years old, so how do I not give him something? I was gonna give my retirement decoration or, excuse me, that decoration my retirement order. But I was like, nah, it needs to be something more. And I I mean people that know me know I don't really keep decorations. I ain't gonna paint my wall with all kinds of stuff. I'd rather put motivational quotes up and stuff. But yeah, he said he appreciated it. He texted me afterwards.

Speaker 1

So shout out to everybody who came near and far to come through, like I really really appreciate it. I can't say thank you enough and I think the worst thing about this and Jess, you probably attest I miss so many people on my speech that I should have said thank you to it is and I wrote stuff down and I still was like god dog, I mean you only got one shot and when it's over, it's over and you can't be up there for 20 minutes just sitting there talking, and so you're trying to get everybody and talk about everybody. Thank everybody. But you don't just want to say thank you, because you can just be like thank you Pete, thank you Philly. Thank you Jess. Thank you dale. You know it gets kind of stupid after a while so it's hard to thank people. Have some kind of reason why you're thanking them and hit everybody just over to you for any comments on that.

Speaker 3

To help philly I mean, phil, I'm gonna be honest and I agree with pete, in that moment it's like a rush of emotions, like you could prepare or get up there and wing it. But even when you're in that moment of your retirement ceremony and you are looking out at everybody, even just looking at a person stirs up the memories that you had with that person. So then you, you know, you start talking about that. I remember I had called my best friend, one of my best friends, by her maiden name, and keep in mind she was there for years. So her husband was like hold on, she ain't free, you know, she jumps in. I was like look, but I went back to when we were like in our young airmen days.

Speaker 3

But I just think, you know, it's your retirement ceremony. I tell people this all the time. That is your moment. It's like a flashback. You get to picture like, oh my god, like I made it, like I'm up here at the end because you've watched everybody else retire.

Speaker 3

And now it's your moment, that rush of emotions. I mean it's just a gratitude position to be in, and I say that from a position of you know, the people that have served with us, that weren't able to get to that moment. We're honoring so many people, we're honoring our family and I think for me, when I got up there towards the end, like I just started talking, thinking about my cousin Darius, you know I'm like yo, you supposed to be here, but you, you know, um, it's your moment, is what you make of it. Cause I'm not gonna lie, just like Pete said, even after you're, you're still hiding after a few days and you know you're still going to be reaching out and telling people like hey, thank you for coming, thank you for the impact you gave on my life. But I always tell people that you're going to miss some people. I think when they know who you are at your core, they'll charge it to your head, not your heart.

Speaker 2

So Great point.

Speaker 3

Great point.

Speaker 2

Yeah, they really rock with you. They get it. They not going to hold that against you if you don't thank them. So, Jess, I do have a question, and also to shout out to everybody in the comments that's giving Pete love, Much appreciated. Give my boy love. There was a message from I think it was Royster said it's your day Now. That being said, Pete, know where it's coming. Faith, what's up girl, what's up man? It's been a long time since I seen that girl. I'm glad she's doing all right Anyway, yeah, so for you and anybody else who want to chime in the chat, what is considered too long for your special day, for your ceremony? Is it three hours, two hours, hour and a half, what?

Speaker 3

I mean, pete, you attended mine, so I was like shots fired because he know my ass was long. I just think it is. How can I say?

Speaker 2

it Maybe long with substance, maybe long with substance. Yeah, say it maybe long with substance maybe long with there you go.

Speaker 3

yeah, it was long with substance and I think the people that know me and that was there and I gotta give a shout out to what's his name, william bill franklin, because, baby, his laugh captivated my whole video so I'd be messing with him. I'm like if I could just get your laugh down, minimize my ceremony, that would be good. I just think I don't agree with putting time limits on it, because I do think and believe that people that come out for that event for you, they're flexible, they will adapt, they're there to celebrate you, so you'll have some people. I ain't getting up there and talking a long time. I'm going to be 20 minutes and out. You, yeah, but did you really give your all? Did you give your message of what you wanted to leave people with? Because I'm happy, like you know, I love y'all. I'm happy y'all are finally retiring, because you know, as a retiree, I get tired of talking about military topics sometimes, right? Oh, so I think, as you retire, that's kind of your legacy, that you're just putting a nice bow on it. It's like at this moment, these are what I'm going to give to you all my last nuggets, because I think I told y'all this before.

Speaker 3

I don't think we do a good job of transitioning the right way. So, pete, you're getting ready to sit with yourself, and what I mean by that all of the psychological emotions and feelings or thoughts, are normal. That's something that we don't talk a lot about. The I got to hurry up and get up and do this no longer exists. You're going to freak out. I remember, like my body, like clockwork, still gets up at four four 30, but you know, let's go to the gym, cause I ain't trying to look like no busted can of biscuits, but it's certain things that's going to be forever ingrained in you. So I don't think any event is too long. Like it's your day. For real, it's your day, so I wouldn't put a time limit. Even preparing some people pre-prepare with their speech. Now I think that take a lot of good thought too, because you got to think about, like, the people that may chime in when you call their name, or even, if you want to make it more personalized, but I just think, um, it's what y'all want to do.

Speaker 1

again, it is your day yeah, well, okay, as much as I agree. Spent 20 years making surprises, spent 3 to 4 hours in the light. Um, it's your time to tell your story. I agree with that. What up, dunn? Congratulations on your retirement too. I saw yours as well, so congratulations. He did his in Texas at the military working dog facility, so that's really dope now Rodney Dunn is that a different Rodney?

Speaker 3

Dunn. Huh, is that a different Rodney Dunn?

Speaker 1

A little short 4'7" pit bull, rodney Dunn. He might be 5'7". He might be 5'7".

Speaker 3

I done told you. Well, under your height you're a fun size like the candy bar. Do you hear me? Fun size?

Speaker 1

4'7", 5'7" Lakers at five, whatever it is.

Speaker 3

Al Fortune told us just how much we were for this, and I love it yo Al.

Speaker 1

Oh, I thought you retired. Yeah, that's how we were you got me to retire that's horrible confusing here with somebody else.

Speaker 1

That's crazy. That's great. But thanks for the retirement shout out. But let me say this All the and Philly, let me help you out because I'm emceeing your shit. If yours goes as long as the person went the day after mine, I'm walking off the stage. I, the person went the day after mine, I'm walking off the stage. I'm leaving the stage. I'm walking off the building. I'm out because I'm gonna go to the bathroom. I'm finna sit down. I'm not staying up there that long. So, as much as I agree, it's your day, as long as it has a flow, I'm good. As long as it has a meaning and purpose, I'm good. I don't need you up there during your presiding officer time and having an effing podcast for two hours about when you were seven years old, what your daddy told you. I don't give a shit at all.

Speaker 1

Tell me about how you affected fatality I don't care that, what you did and how you told this chief that he ate crap 25 years ago. I don't care what. You joined the school 12 years ago and this is your stupid number I don't care. Nobody else cares. When I do cares if you can fit all that in a 20 minute basket, but don't give me a six hour rendition. I don't need a Tyler Perry story about your freaking life. That's not what I need right now.

Speaker 3

That's not what nobody needs I don't know. Don't do that to him. He may have horns there in the audience and I may need to meet horns.

Speaker 1

You know what that's fine. But you know, when you do that at your reception, you do that at fine, that's fine.

Speaker 3

But you know, when you do that at your reception, you do that at one of your 12 parties.

Speaker 1

You had you do that. One of your after parties, your family event, you do it. Then don't waste people's time, don't start late and go three freaking hours that's not what you do.

Speaker 3

Someone started late again. I don't know. You know I've been and late is okay.

Speaker 1

you know you start 10 minutes late. Whatever, that's fine. You're trying to get people in the building.

Speaker 3

Understand that I mean I wait on my sister. I was like I told you we were starting at this time. I was like just walking and everybody may be standing up, but I ain't waiting on you.

Speaker 1

We started like five mind, but that was just my nerves trying to figure it out. Philly, I'll leave this over to you because I'm going to spaz out if I keep talking about this but don't have a podcast and then sit there and have a flag-folding thing talking about when you were airman. It's the exact same thing we just heard on the podcast. I don't even hear that twice. Let him cook. What'd you say, Jess?

Speaker 3

I just need the wiki notes later, so I'll get you when we go off the air. I'll get you to the real. Real. I'm holding back a lot but, man, when I'm sitting there and I'm just like what is going on?

Speaker 1

we still talking, and then you know it's crazy. We were sitting down so long. When we got up to do the retirement order. Man, it took me five minutes to get up. My knees was hurting. I never minutes to get up. My knees was hurting. I never had to get up. We even sat down so long. It felt like a flight to New York I was after your retirement, your knees locking up, that time, whoa man Okay, all right.

Speaker 2

All right, tell us how you really feel.

Speaker 1

But congratulations to that better retirement. I'm happy that you got to retire. Your family probably enjoyed the six hours that we were there and everybody else you know probably enjoyed it as well.

Speaker 2

But shout out to you hey, you only get one day so it's and it's difficult because it's hard, and this is just point and a couple people, people in the comments, it's hard to critique someone. Retirement ceremony I would assume they built it or they constructed it the way they want it.

Speaker 2

You know it's their ceremony and I agree. This is your special day. All I would ask is you're going to have your family members, they get it. Your close friends they get it, but your folks who are not close friends they may not get all of the different things that you added to your ceremony, and if it goes long, people are going to get fidgety, they're going to want to leave or whatever. And there was a couple of retirements. I've been to where people were actually walking out because it was too long, and you've been to where people were actually walking out. Thanks, owen, because it was too long and you've got to be cognizant of that. Wait, hold that moment.

Speaker 1

Jess, it was so long people was walking out. All right, go ahead, Go ahead.

Speaker 2

For me. My goal is to keep mine at 90 minutes, Meaning anything extra I want to do, I will save it for the reception.

Speaker 2

So if my true friends or family are coming to the reception, that's when I will save the antics for that one and I want to make sure, within that 90 minutes, there is purpose behind it, meaning I don't want to spend me personally, I don't want to spend my ceremony going over all the stuff I did in my career. I want to just spend that time to do a quick blurp. You know and this is coming from the presiding official, not for me. I'm not going to sit up there and say I did this, did this because of me, I'm not doing it. I will lead to my presiding official whoever else that wants to say, but for me this is a time to thank my family. Number one well, number one. Thank the lord above my family and my friends who helped me get to where I'm at and then leave or offer some words of advice to people that I am leaving behind in the air force, and then all the other fun stuff I'm gonna do. I'm gonna save it for the reception.

Speaker 2

Let's see 90 minutes is perfect. Yeah, I agree, if it flows well.

Speaker 1

Yeah, if it flows well. Like Jess was about an hour and a half, but it flowed well, so it didn't seem like an hour and a half. When this flow is all over the place, an hour and a half seems like six hours. Flow is all over the place An hour and a half seems like six hours.

Speaker 2

You know what it's like. It's like being, it's like getting on a ship with people who've been on a ship before and you don't know where you're going. Right, it's like you thinking you're going to the shore and this up it makes another turn. You'd like shit, Like when we get into the shore. Man, you know what I mean. But the people on the ship, namely the family, their close friends and the people who organize it, they know when the end's coming, you don't know. So you're sitting there like this. At first you're excited, You're like this Right. Then midway you're like yeah, I don't even want to clap, no more.

Speaker 1

My clap went from.

Speaker 3

And you know, I think, like you said, the orchestration of it all and that's why I had three people speak on my behalf, because they were three people in an instrumental point in my career. Like you know, annie Hollins got to see the rough. You know Airman Jones, with the hairstyles galore, the nails, and then you know you had to seealie bell who kind of started to help me shape who I was, and then I had jamie eisenbeck who kind of like just grew me. But I think each, because you know people that latch on to you towards the end of your career too, they think sometimes you've been like that your whole time. So by them getting to hear like your career and what you have been through, also I look at it as icing on the cake, because they get to see like, okay, this person ain't always been like this, because I I tell people every time I come into contact with someone I was like, look, let me put something into perspective for you.

Speaker 3

I used to be that person. When the air force say jump, I used to be like damn jumping. I wasn't asking how high, but like after traumatic events and experiences it was like hold on, pimpin'. Alabama started to come out a little bit more. You ain't getting that. This is what you're supposed to deal with. So your ceremony is basically the. I always don't laugh, but I'm like it's the sugar, it's the diabetes that you're willing to give to everybody that day.

Speaker 2

And we're trying to work on.

Speaker 3

DC.

Speaker 2

Sure you know he expand his pool of you know tab on the bar. That's true.

Speaker 3

I'll add another 50 cents. I had to do the Uno reverse. Go back to that.

Speaker 2

And I want to, just I want to. I want to pose this to you guys too, cause me and Pete had a great conversation to this when your family comes to see your ceremony, should you pay for their dinner? Like, for instance, y'all go out for group dinner, right, and you got family coming in, do you pay, or does the family pay individually what you think?

Speaker 3

So I paid.

Speaker 3

Oh hell no like even you know my actual retirement party. It was people so like we were late because it was going to get the food and then I had rayolas, you know who was tony's um business, do the buffet for me. But like I had my closest friends there, even being my servers with Tony. But when I tell you like I had to tell my auntie, I was like, look, don't ask me for nothing when I didn't pay for all y'all meals. If you gotta wait 45 minutes to all of us in there, wait 45 minutes because you ain't have to pay a dime. That's all I'm saying. Like and I look at it like this is my gift to y'all. Like this is my gift to y'all, like this is my gift to y'all.

Speaker 3

My family had to pay for nothing. All I wanted was their time. Like, just come, enjoy. Like I look at my retirement pictures right now we be joking I was like, damn, y'all made me feel like it was y'all's Because all my pictures is my family posted up taking their pictures. But it's an experience for them to get to see. Because I think when your family comes to your retirement, your family only gets to see one glimpse of you and I will honestly say, I think a lot of service members are very humble when they go back home, like they don't always tell their family what they're doing or what they're going through. If I paid to fly there, you better.

Speaker 1

If you fly from Japan, I'll get your food.

Speaker 2

That's different, but I'll put it like this Is it fair for me to say all right, if I'm paying 20 bucks a person, 20 bucks a person, Anything else after that you paying no.

Speaker 1

Just say I'm not giving you nothing at all, Because my thing is like we retiring right.

Speaker 2

It's not like you know when you retire. It's like you having to look for another job, like it's like getting married. Give me money, contribute, you know what I'm saying. Contribute, I know I get it.

Speaker 3

I'm glad you said that, though, because when I went for like how much did you pay, I said I paid $15,000 for everything. That's the shadow box, the dinner, right, right. So like when I played that Gideon, that Heartbreak anniversary, I'm like that's what it was, because I was married to the Air Force and now this is my divorce from the Air Force, but I tell you, my whole meal, my whole thing, cost me like $1,000.

Speaker 1

The food was $700.

Speaker 3

See, my food was probably $1,200.

Speaker 1

And then I got all the senior NCOs a bottle of wine and tequila. So that was about 15 bottles of wine and tequila that I got. So that was the rest of it. That was like $200.

Speaker 3

And see, I put a little money, I put more than $50 on my bar, but I also had my coin. That was the coin that I actually passed out. But I'm going to be honest, mine was kind of different because I knew I was turning 40 this year and I didn't want like a big birthday party. So that was like my 40th early and my retirement all together. So that's so much. That's fair.

Recent Celebrity Deaths and Mortality

Speaker 1

To put a bow on this, philly, I say it's a lot easier for 10 people, eight people, 20 people to pay for one person than one person to pay for eight people, 10 people or 20 people. That's how I feel. Don't assume.

Speaker 2

Don't assume Cause like I get it to faith point, I agree. Like if my, your family's coming to see you, they're bearing some form of expense, but they got to look at it from the other end. You got a person that's retiring. They're paying for a ceremony, they're paying for a reception, they're paying to feed you. At some point there's a line. You've got to be like look bro, no, I got it. I have, I have a rule. I'll give you three chances to not take the check after third time. Oh well, you got it.

Speaker 1

Yeah, give me three chances I guess it depends on the restaurant too, like if you're taking me to a five star and expect me to pay for my food. I'm like bro, I ain't got 300 bucks for my plate, I'm just gonna get an appetizer family's point of view as well.

Speaker 3

this, this is where your family is like look you come home, we don't complain. All we know is that you come home and we're about to lay out this spread for you. We gather, and everybody I'm my family, you pay 15k for your retirement man.

Speaker 1

if y'all don't make me at the, meet me at the Waffle House.

Speaker 3

Rod, don't meet me at the Waffle House, rodney, you gotta help me, rodney. Just for me, though, that was my first time in retirement altogether.

Speaker 1

What do you mean? Three oh no eye contact. I lost Royce just said three oh no eye contact.

Speaker 2

I must have said something no, I think he was talking about when I said you get three chances.

Speaker 1

Oh, okay to take the check after your third time.

Speaker 2

I'm like you got it, bro. You know I love it when you go TDY and everybody want to pull out the American Express card to get the points. I got it. I'm like you get three chances after that. I'm like, hey, take the whole check, I ain't gonna feel bad about it. Last question then we can move on if you like, pete and Jess, since y'all both technically well. Jess, you're officially retired. Pete, you're just about there. You had your ceremony. Are there three things that you are going to do now that you're retired, meaning like some people get a retirement hat, some people get a tattoo, some people jump, do a bungee jump, whatever? What were those three?

Speaker 1

things. It sounds like you just say your three things. I don't have anything. Every day is the same Dang Nothing at all.

Speaker 2

Why am I not surprised? I went to Turks and Caicos surprised.

Speaker 3

I went to Turks and Caicos. I went to Turks and Caicos just to relax. I went with a group of women and, I'm going to be honest, when I came back it was more of decompression, like I tried some things. I'm just going to say that I got my, but other than that, you know what Somebody say expensive vehicle. I did buy A car last year okay.

Speaker 3

You got my truck, but I got the car Because you know Ty Is about to be a junior and people like why I did? I got him a 2023 Cadillac with ct5.

Speaker 1

Damn First car?

Speaker 3

I sure did, but it Was look people be sleeping on car. I got him a 2023 Cadillac CT5. Damn For his first car. I sure did People be sleeping on CarMax, carmax. I got that car with it was a 2023, 26,000 miles. I got it for $29,000. But yeah, this is my first car.

Speaker 1

That's what's up, you know what Shout out to Tony?

Speaker 3

because I love Tony. Tony, be so quick to be like, I'll get the insurance, cool brother, and I get the car Because you know there's insurance and you don't go deep. Yeah, I'll get the car.

Speaker 1

Yeah, that's kind of crazy.

Speaker 2

I got a plan. I got a plan when I retire I'll get me tattoos on both. When I retire, I'm getting me tattoos on both my arms. I'm getting tattoos. I'm gonna start wearing my nose ring do you have tattoos? I got one, just one, of my gal on my arm. Her name on my arm, okay, okay, nobody can see that little man shut up, man, man Shut up, shut up, you ain't going to do nothing. You boring anyway, anyway that's all I'm saying I got a real tattoo.

Speaker 1

What is it?

Speaker 2

What is it? A dollar sign.

Speaker 1

This is a Scorpio Mind, y'all mother asses.

Speaker 2

I'm a Scorpio, oh Lord.

Speaker 1

Speaker 2

Speaker 1

I wasn't but I'm going to roast you in a second. This is the Panther ripping out, so don't let the beast out.

Speaker 2

Like I said, I'm getting some tattoos on my forearms and stuff.

Speaker 1

And I'm going to wear my nose ring.

Speaker 2

I'm going to start wearing my nose ring again.

Speaker 3

You're not getting no nose ring I got one already.

Speaker 2

Yeah right, I have one, since I was an airman. I just haven't worn it in almost 20 years. You think you too?

Speaker 3

pop 2.0. Hey, I did not know, you had a nose ring, yeah I do, man, I'm gonna start wearing it again.

Speaker 2

Pop right back in. That's crazy, holla, if you hear me. No, necktie cheap. I don't know, maybe I thought about getting one right here, I don't know. My wife ain't going to let me do that anyway. My wife ain't going to let me do that. Ernetta says, when I retire, I'm taking See that's dope.

Speaker 3

That's what I'm talking about. Just give me a call, Ernetta, please.

Speaker 1

Sorry, jose, I had to give him a reminder.

Speaker 2

Anyway, I'm going to give me a retirement hat with some buttons on it. Oh my God, I'm going to be dazzled at joint. Oh my God.

Speaker 1

Yeah, you're going to get the license plate I was thinking about getting the license plate holder, I was like maybe I won't get pulled over.

Speaker 3

I had one and I took it off. I was like I don't like it, I'm sorry.

Speaker 1

I was just worried about. You know, if I get pulled over they might let me go if it says US Air Force retired make sure you get the tag though the DV tag. Oh yeah, I can just do that.

Speaker 3

I got my DV tag, but I got my Delta stuff. I was like I don't need nobody, no, I'm retired.

Speaker 1

But you only get DV tag on the VA side right.

Speaker 3

You can get one with a DD-214.

Speaker 1

Oh okay, shoot, okay. Yes, please let the hat go. The hat is for Vietnam and before.

Speaker 2

That's what I'm going to do I'm going to get a hat Do you have a hat for our era, because I rarely see it.

Speaker 3

There's an OIF one.

Speaker 1

Okay, I haven't seen it, you know who had one, that mother effer who had that three-hour retirement. That's how I know, because that mother effer who had the three-hour retirement, Pieces.

Speaker 2

Okay, so let's so putting a bow on it. Hey, first again. Congratulations, my boy you know, congratulations on your retirement. You killed it, man. Everybody get to do the round of applause. You know what I'm saying. She's gonna get that happy one early. Yeah, god dang right, Especially for the A-Fee's birthday joint which they had the other day I got my free 10% off too.

Speaker 1

Anyway, when we were waiting three hours for that dang retirement ceremony, we had to go to Starbucks. We did it was.

Speaker 2

A-Fee's birthday. We did, we did man.

Speaker 1

Anyway, I'm done with the retirement. Thanks for the congratulations.

Airman Lovin's Tragic Death

Speaker 2

I forgot her name. Webster, I think. Shout out, I think her name is Webster. Shout out to Chief Webster, chief Hatcher, all those that endured with us in the audience, man, shout out to y'all man RT all y'all man.

Speaker 1

Yeah, chief Arbona, Don't forget about that.

Speaker 2

Yeah, charmaine, what's up? Congratulations on your retirement, girl Congratulations. She retired about, I think, a month ago. Please forgive me if I get it wrong, but she's retired now. All these retirees in here, that's what's up. But to put a bow on it, let's transition and talk about some sad news. Hey, thanks for following Along with it. Let's transition and talk about some sad news, hey, thanks. We had, along with a couple of retirement ceremonies, we had some untimely passing, you know, some deaths. We had first malcolm jamal warner. You know him from different, different pieces of his work in hollywood, but more importantly, as his role as theo on a bill on the Cosby show. Uh, he passed away unfortunately. He drowned trying to save his daughter. And then you have, regardless of what you think about them some people think different things, bob but the immortal Hulk Hogan, as they call him he passed away two

Speaker 2

uh, they referred to him as the Prince of Darkness, ozzy Osbourne, for those who are fans, he passed away. So anyway, just to bring that up I tell you, is it me or do you guys feel I feel like my? My mortality, I guess, if that's the right word, is in question with all the people I grew up with that are passing away. I mean, like I grew up on Theo Malcolm Jamal Warner, I grew up with that are passing away. I mean, like I grew up on Theo Malcolm Jamal Warner, I grew up on Hulk Hogan Can't mention anything about Ozzy Osbourne, but with them two and they're gone, not to mention the people beforehand that had passed away. It just makes me really realize, like as it should already. How life is short time is short. Man Like geez man. As it should already. How life is short time is short, man like jeez man. And then, just the way he you know, malcolm Jamal Warner passed by trying to save his daughter. Man, that was just like you just don't know thoughts real quick.

Speaker 1

Let me throw in a plug. If you want to throw a tip out to the to the podcast, please go on my website below. Alright, moving on terrible time out to the podcast. Please go on their website below. All right Moving on Terrible time.

Speaker 2

Terrible time. Anyway, go on.

Speaker 1

How did Hulk Hogan die?

Speaker 2

I can't remember, but he was like 70-something years old.

Speaker 1

Okay, I think Malcolm Jamal is probably the one that kind of hit the hardest out of all of them Because, like you said, kind of grew up on him. I didn't know that dude's been acting since 12 years old, almost nonstop, nonstop, and I forgot that he was in a comedy script, skip or show with I forgot the comedian's name, but he had his own show. Oh, hulk Hogan was a heart attack.

Speaker 1

OK, cardiac arrest, yeah the comedian's name, but he had his own show. Uh, oh, hulk hogan was a heart attack, okay, cardiac arrest, yeah, um, so I think he's the one that hit the hardest and it sucks like you're trying to save your daughter and die yourself, like what is going on in his head five minutes, ten minutes before that. I have no idea. But, um, that's kind of tough, that one's tough, that one's tough. But I agree with what you're saying is all these people that you knew are now passing away? I don't know if you're saying like I'm sure, as people were passing away. Thank you, gary, jerry, eddie Griffin. He had a show with Eddie Griffin.

Speaker 1

It's just like you know, I was looking at when basketball players make the Hall of Fame or NFL players make the Hall of Fame, like before, when I was growing up, like I didn't know who these players were. And then, as I started growing up, I heard the names but never seen them play. And now it's like I seen them play and they're in the hall of fame. Just remind me how old I'm getting. Uh, so I think that's really where it goes to is like either how old I'm getting or my time is catching up. I don't know.

Speaker 3

I don't want to say it like that, but that's really what kind of goes through my head, jess so I'll say like um, I logged on to social media this week and saw that, like internally, we lost a fellow equal opportunity colleague by the name of sergeant daniel mendez. Um, it's just when you think about death to me, I always say like we're on borrowed time, and a lot of people don't understand that, being on borrowed time, I always um about you, know your core, like are you living a life? And I think he's. He lived a life of legacy that has touched everyone. What I love the most about Michael Jamal Warner, though, is that the women that he had been involved with platonic or not had been involved with platonic or not. I like how they spoke on his presence and his legacy in a loving way, but they were also respectful to his wife and his daughter. So when you think about the impact or influence that you have had on somebody's life and they can speak on you in that manner, that speaks to that person's character, and I think that's the biggest one.

Speaker 3

I think it just caught so many people off guard. No offense, I wasn't following like Hulk Hogan, I'm not a WWE person. I just when you think about politics because that's my arena, like from political or social action, I enjoy that atmosphere and just to see the things that he did, or the things that he even stopped when it came to benefits in the WWE, I just, like you, got to get right with self. I'm not saying like this has no bearing on religion, but sometimes it's like do you already know? And I think Michael Jamal Warner, like when you heard on the news that it was two people in a come to find out that that was actually his daughter. I do believe you know a dad's love and I'm going to say that, like as a girl, like you're always her protector and I think in that moment you know he was protecting her. Even if you go back and listen to how he spoke about his daughter before pictures came out of her, like that man that's his pride and joy was his wife and his daughter.

Speaker 1

Billy, what'd you think?

Speaker 2

Yeah, jess, I want to ask you a question, like for any of the females in the chat. So after his untimely passing, there was a you know, a pouring outpouring of comments. His untimely passing, there was a pouring outpouring of comments about wishing passing condolences to Malcolm Jamal Warner's family and his spouse. There was one particular one that caused a little bit of a stir and it was one from actress Karen Molina White. She says, and I quote love you always and always. So there was a couple of people that may have taken that two different ways, maybe in a sexual sense, I guess, I don't know. But she does say after that comment, she passes her deepest condolences to his spouse and his family. But what is your take on that? What do you think? What did you get away from that? What did you take away from that? What do you take from that?

Speaker 3

You know, like when I read stuff like that, as a female I'm I'm torn anyway. You know, and I say I'm torn anyway because I grew up understanding, like you know, we call it being a girl's girl, like I am a girl's girl where I can see what she meant from again a platonic relationship, but to also extend condolences to that family, his wife and his daughter. For me I didn't take it in a sexual manner, I took it as if and I'm going to use myself for example I remember being married to Tony at that time. Tony is a player. Tony had a lot of women friends and even to this day he has a good group of women that care about his emotional, social and spiritual well-being. And I think, being married in that capacity, I had to learn look, it's nothing sexual, they fill out a part of his personality in a capacity that I can't. But it also made me mature as a woman to understand like Jessica, you got the same thing in guys when it comes to guy friends. Like they give you a perspective on how to be a better woman for your mate.

Speaker 3

I'm not saying that that happened with them, but I'm just like sometimes we overextend our experiences into other people's situations and think that we're the ruler or the measurement for how other people need to operate. And when I read that comment at a backlash, that's what I thought about. I'm like, why are y'all trying to be the ruler or the measurement of how she chooses to grieve? Now, on the flip side, when you look at people like rich kwan homie I don't even know yeah, because my kids be like you always messing up his name but I don't like how women came out on the flip side like from not. That is completely disrespectful, because now you're open the wounds that maybe him and his family had already discussed in a private manner, but now you're trying to make yourself relevant. So for hers, no, dc. I don't think it was in a sexual nature, I think it was hey. We had a genuine good relationship with each other and this is.

Speaker 2

I'm sad that my friend is no longer here got you and switching gears to hulk hogan, the back and forth comments about him. Are there some different comments he said throughout his career that were racial? And there was racial, so to speak, I guess, african-americans, and so there were some people that vilified him even after his passing. And there was some like give this guy a pass, you know, because he's a human being, people make mistakes, things of that nature. So, um, curious, have any of you guys heard what he's said, or aware of it? And then, what are your thoughts on it?

Speaker 1

I thought I heard something about the uh on the political side, but that's the only thing I heard and I don't remember what it was but uh, that's the only thing I remember, and if it don't remember what it was, but that's the only thing I remember. And if it's not that big of a deal that I remembered, I guess it wasn't that big of a deal to me at the time.

Speaker 3

So the one that I want to point out, that I pay particular interest in, only because, growing up like, my dad and my grandfather used to always look at WWE and that's probably why I don't like it.

Speaker 3

But I remember when Hulk Hogan played a role in preventing Jesse Ventura from forming a wrestler's union back in the 80s, so that was a big thing. It's like he went a snitch to McMahon about what these group of people were trying to do. But it's like from a human rights perspective like you're a fellow wrestler as well with them, I get it Like he was very instrumental in transforming it from what he like I don't know, um, but at the the, the point is like, look, you had this guy that was seeking to try to revolutionize it through the union and instead of being a contributor, you decided to be someone that dismantle their efforts. So when it came to his comments about African-Americans, I'm like, look, can you say that he's a racist? I'm going to be honest, I just felt like I don't know if he was a racist or just he just was ill-equipped and illiterate when it came to people not being him. And that's when I always say he thought he was the ruler or the measurement for how everybody else should operate.

Speaker 1

I think you know. Can't forget, I'll let you go Philly after this. Can't forget Hulk Hogan as a character and not a person. I can't remember his real name, terry something.

Speaker 2

Terry, something not Bogard, but that's the dude from Fatal Fury. It's like it's terry something.

Speaker 1

Yeah, yeah, but it's a character. Hulk hogan was a character and you get so uh caught up in his character that you think that's him in real life. And you gotta remember he's playing a character in a movie, a character on tv, a character whatever, to make his money for his living. So as much as he put out great content and he took a act and made it look reality, that's probably not him in reality. When you get to know somebody reality, get to know somebody in reality it's probably different from the character they display on tv thanks, justin.

Speaker 2

you're rightri Bolia. So there was a couple of comments he made in the past, one particularly about his daughter dating someone who was Black 2007. And then he also made a comment that said I'm a racist to a point, but for adding a slur against Black people, according to a transcript.

Speaker 2

So, that being said, despite of all that, in his history, folks like Dwayne Rock Johnson came out and gave him, you know, condolences, credited him to making his career the way it is today, and other folks, and so I guess my, my, um, I guess comment would be is could he? Was he a racist? Probably there's a lot of people we work with you don't know they're racist or not until it's revealed to you. Does that mean that he deserves to like not get any recognition or condolences? I mean, I don't think so. I think he still deserves. You know sad to see him leave.

Speaker 2

His character as Hulk Hogan has inspired a lot of young folks, including myself. When I was a little kid I wasn't a huge Hulk Hogan fan, but I like the stuff that he did in his ring. Everything outside the ring I'm not 100% a fan of to Pete's point earlier when he supported the Republican Party this past election, but I am sad to see him pass. He was quite the entertainer. Let's see.

Speaker 2

There was a comment here. Marquis says he was. I think he's referring to him being a racist. Justin says polar opposite of Hulk is Ric Flair, ric Flair. Yes, he's right, ric Flair is Ric Flair. I would argue, almost to his detriment, that you know what. I'm glad you brought this. It's drawing my memory. This kind of reminds me of folks who are retiring and senior positions in the military, because when Ric Flair isn't wrestling, no more, he's still Ric Flair, right? He cannot, he's not doing anything else, it's all Ric Flair. And so I think for folks in the military, retiring and senior positions, you got to get out of the point where it's you're no longer General this, you're no longer Chief that or First Sarnet. You're your name, but if you can't get around that, you're going to still stuck in that rut. Tony says he was talking about Kamala just last year, anyway.

Speaker 3

Kamala.

Speaker 1

Kamala.

Speaker 2

Kamala. I'm sorry, kamala.

Speaker 1

Yeah, rick Flay's 30 for 30 was really good. Actually, there was another death that we had for anybody in 3po community. Uh, a young airman lost his life to a tragic, tragic, tragic uh accident. Will I call it incident accident, whatever you want to say? Uh, young, 21 year old. I can't remember his name, philly. Do you remember his name?

Speaker 1

uh, I'll look it up here, okay but uh, young, 21 year old, I think it was an fe warn uh got shot in the chest by a fellow 3po member from an accidental discharge, uh, and the crazy thing is it was with the ma team, which is the new era, the, the handgun that the uh cops use, or anybody in the military now uses, or at least the Air Force uses. I think the Army got rid of it, but the M18 is the handgun that is associated with the cops or anybody who's using the handgun, and there were some faulty things that was going on with this gun and it got exploited and sorry to say that somebody lost their life because of it.

Speaker 1

Airman Braden Lovin he was uh Lovin, he was 21 years old, from Kentucky yeah uh, but he's gone, got shot in the chest and uh couldn't save him. Um, a couple things with this um, and I know Philly's gonna talk about a little bit more, but gotta be tough. Gotta be tough for that security forces member who, I want to say, shot him because it was an accidental discharge. From what I'm understanding from the story, he put his gun on the table and it went off. That's what I understand, and so how does he live with that? I have no idea. How do people still arm up with this weapon? I have no idea. And how does somebody forgive this member for what happened? I have no idea.

Speaker 2

Comments, questions so the the tricky thing about this is the initial report came out as if the airman holster, yeah, it was because he took his.

Speaker 2

He took his equipment off and when he took it off, it hit the ground or table and it went off. So the initial thought was there was an issue with the weapon. And so, uh, credit to general busier out of global strike command. He actually went right and he had the cattle instructors go through the same thing again of how it could have happened, and they had reason to believe there was a defect in the weapon and so they paused all use of handguns in M18A1 and Global Strike. Now the investigation is still ongoing. So there could be a possibility. It's not the handgun, it could have been a weapon safety issue with the airmen. So that we don't know. Let me just make sure I make that perfectly clear. We don't know if there's an issue strictly with the handgun or if it was the security forces. Airmen had doing something that was against safety procedures for the weapon. But one thing is clear across the Security Forces Enterprise they sent out a message to encourage Battalion commanders, reinforce weapon safety with all defenders across the Security Forces Enterprise and to do an examination of M18A1 handgun. So I know on Global Strike they paused it, but across the security forces they're still. They're still, they are still using the handgun.

Speaker 2

I think one thing I gather from this story is. I mean, it's just, I won't Monday night quarterback it and say what should have been done. What I will say is we always say how it's interesting, how you have airmen come in the military and at young ages 18, 19 years old they're carrying weapons, they are protected, million dollar aircraft, fix a million dollar aircraft and such, but they can't drink a beer, which is weird. And this is not about beer. This is mostly about the type of responsibility we give young airmen each and every day and how.

Speaker 2

And I'm not saying let me be clear, I am not saying it is the airman's fault that put the weapon on the ground or whatever, but it highlights how, if you lose focus of what you're doing during that day, whatever your mind is going or something, something tragic can happen, and it's more than just firearm discharges, it's vehicle safety incidents, you name it. So my heart goes out to the family, airman Lovin's family in Kentucky. My heart goes out to the defender who is dealing with the guilt of potentially being a part of this untimely death of this airman, and hopefully we will get some more fidelity of what happened during this whole ordeal. But it has been quite the conversation across the formation in this respect.

Speaker 3

Jess, you got anything to add, because I just have a question, if not, I just think it saddens me that oftentimes our policies or procedures are often changed due to tragedy. I always say we focus so much on on critical thinking, but there's so many other things of thinking and I'm going to give this to mike perot who, um, we've been talking or we talked about, like the paradox of thinking where you know there's justice in following rules and regulations and procedures, but so often we make decisions or policies and we don't incorporate that grace from a human race perspective. And, like you said, if we knew that this was faulty, I will always say the Air Force or any military. We are data rich and decision poor. Because if the data is there, what is the problem with making a decision that may not be liked by everybody? And that's like we got to learn how to make decisions that are not attached to emotions and feelings, like you can feel some way about it.

Speaker 3

But from a cognitive perspective, have you thought about? This is what the federal state law says, that our left and right parameters are, but from a human perspective, like you talk about the safety and security of the people that is actually going to be performing these jobs, what questions have we not answered? But the data is there. So that's the piece that I struggle with when we talk about losing people, and it's due to some of our decisions. The data is there, just like you said. The data was there about this weapon, but our eagerness to try to always look at us military people like we have superpowers Decent to your point. We don't have superpowers. We try our best to equip our people with the tools and abilities superpowers. We try our best to equip our people with the tools and abilities to be successful in their jobs, but, at the same time, there's still a lot of things that we haven't equipped our people with when it comes to the decisions that we've made.

Speaker 1

Sorry, just took a three point.

Speaker 3

Great, you know I'd be going into the nerdish I it.

Speaker 1

I love it. It's a great point of uh weaponizing people to be able to do their job successfully. I will say uh philly, to your point. I don't know how you feel about this. I got my own opinions, which I'll ask yours and then give mine. When something like this happens and then we do weapon safety training, what's your thoughts of that? Because my thought is I thought we do weapons safety every day what changes?

Speaker 2

Yeah, I agree. But you know, when stuff like this happens, there's always that knee jerk reaction. They're kind of like I hate to say CYA, but you're going to make sure you're reinforced and double down on it. But I think to your point. Maybe what you're trying to say is when we say, oh, when we have an incident like this, let's all go back and do weapons safety training.

Speaker 2

Like we already doing that every day, so I do, in that regard, I agree. I think in the cases like this, we need more intrusive. Intrusive leadership, or followup, you know, because, let's be honest, man, like we've been cops for a long time. Marquise is in the chat. He's been a cop for a long time. How many times when people at the brow don't pay attention to what they're doing?

Speaker 1

Yeah, I mean, let's be honest, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2

Because it's the same mundane chore every day. You go in in the morning, you clear your weapon, you load your weapon, whatever, and so there is a high probability that one day somebody is going to either not pay attention they're a little bit fatigued, they may have something going on at home and they're not paying attention and a round goes off. So I think, if anything, we need more instead of the weapon safety, maybe in addition to it, as we need folks who are at the barrel and folks who are around the barrel Be a little bit more observant of the procedures and start holding people a little bit more accountable. And accidents happen. I'm it, but I don't know about you. But when I had my weapon, even when I was carrying a Beretta, I was always very careful when I took off my web belt.

Speaker 1

Yeah, they say it's like two different types of safeties on it weapon.

Speaker 2

Even though I was carrying a Beretta, I was always very careful when I took off my web belt. They said it's like two different types of safeties on it F that.

Speaker 1

I'm not going to just throw my weapon across the table. Take a number two. You can't care for how you take that web belt off. What do I do with this gun? I'll tell you. It goes through your mind like what do I do with this right now? Do I hold it Do?

Speaker 2

I put it on the floor Like what do I do with it?

Speaker 1

Put it on a little thing on the back of the bathroom, but you know.

Speaker 2

But I want to ask you a quick question though. Someone in the comments on social media said they vilified the Air Force when they said why are we carrying around in the chamber?

Speaker 1

That was stupid. I heard the same thing. You know it's crazy. A lot of people came to me personally. It was like I didn't know, y'all carried around in the chamber and it's like you can't take one incident and be like, okay, the solve for this is this when this is how we've been doing it for shoot since 1974, like you can't have that big of a knee-jerk reaction accidental discharges have been going off in clearing barrels since I came in the military. Uh, I feel like one goes off at least once a year, if not twice a year, and especially when we went to the new weapon system as an m18, they were going off ever, all all over the place and so, um, you can't really equate that to being like.

Speaker 1

This would have solved the problem, probably, but people were saying what is the difference between taking your weapon out, loading around and then, you know, engaging an enemy, or just taking your weapon out and engaging an enemy if you have to? Is that risk worth it, especially if you're talking about millions and millions of dollar assets? You know every second is crucial. Do we fire a weapon at people every day? No, do we do as much as regular police? Probably not, but it's still an asset that we need to have ready to go, and this is how we've been trained. Like to take that out of my head and then you have to rack and fire. Man, it'll take a long time for me to recalibrate that, because we're just used to just taking our weapon out and shooting, even when we go to the range or whatever.

Speaker 3

It's not three, papa. When you think about that, though, it always makes me think like there are a lot of weapon systems that we keep safe. But I, every time it comes to y'all, when you think about weapons training, I do think about the nuke side as well from my time being stationed at Barksdale. So, like that little umbrella of you, know it's safety, security, reliability. But how do y'all know, like when y'all utilize these weapons, that is actually reliable in that capacity and based off of this, it that weapon isn't reliable? So it's like who in the industry um selects like what weapons you all were utilized at that time?

Speaker 1

If I'm not mistaken, you have like a, somebody who needs a star, go ahead. No, I wouldn't say that.

Glorilla's House Robbery Turns to Arrest

Speaker 2

I wish my brother from Tim Weiser, chief Weiser, the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center they handle all of the research when it comes to things such as that nature, like doing the research, checking to see if the weapon system is feasible for what we do, article. I was trying to find it here where the Lifecycle Management Center approved or brought in the M18 handgun for usage. I think it was in 2022. Oh, wait, a minute, I thought I had pulled it up here. Okay, 2020. So yeah, the Lifecycle Management Center. They moved forward with the M18, bringing it into the Air Force Enterprise, so they do research, but as always, you know, things come out later. I know the Army was having problems with this pistol as well.

Speaker 1

Contracts money. You know a lot of that.

Speaker 3

I was going to say contract, the loyalty towards certain contractors, contractors and as it like. It makes me mad when we think about, like the products that we receive as a federal agency from said contractors, because some of this stuff is already in play. Like, over the last few weeks I've learned so much just about contracts and you know how you bid and like getting in on, but I'm like some of the data is fabricated in order for people to secure that bid and get that contract. So my thing is, when we talk about Doge and being insufficient or ineffective, when are we going to put a light on that Like the data that is submitted for people to secure certain contracts because it's fabricated?

Speaker 2

So I want to ask a question. I see Marquise Daniels in the chat. He's a cattle instructor. Marquise, and anybody who else want to answer, just out of curiosity. What do you think is the right course of action in a situation like this? Do you cease all operations of the handgun and have all defenders carry long guns and four rifles until the investigation is over? Or do you mandate all defenders still carry the handgun but not put around in chamber? Or do you have them just press on and carry the handgun?

Speaker 1

just curious to see what y'all guys thoughts were yeah, I think, uh, while we're waiting for him to comment because I'm interested in this comment you don't change anything at all. You keep everything status quo is the same, because if that's the case, you should have changed it. Well, be before an incident happened, if it was a problem. You can't wait for a problem to come up and then, all of a sudden, be like we're going to change everything, like you have been doing this for 20 years, 30 years, 40 years, 50 years, carrying your weapon this way because the incident happened. One incident, because there's been a bunch of people who have had an accidental discharge. This one just happened to take somebody's life.

Speaker 3

But that's the point that you're like, that's my problem. It's like I I agree with what you're saying, but it makes me, as an outsider, think like if you had these issues previously. That's quality, but your job as leaders above me is to determine how do we get to quality, like I want to make sure that I'm supplying my people with quality products that are protecting them from a safety, security and reliability perspective, not just the mission.

Speaker 1

Marquise is saying don't press on. Maybe he says do press on.

Speaker 3

We have to look at safety, as it is power mount.

Speaker 1

Yeah.

Speaker 2

So my only concern? Let's see, I saw a comment from Justin said DM is just carrying rifles now because of what happened. So here's my thing. It's a delicate situation.

Speaker 2

Here's why, as a defender, you have two forms of weapons you can use. Right. So you're carrying an M4 and you're carrying an M18 as a secondary weapon, of course, with your taser or pepper spray or baton that you're carrying. So when you say, okay, well, we're going to cease all handguns, we're only going to carry rifles, remember you're not carrying a round in the chamber in your M4. And so chances are, if you get in a situation you got to use that rifle, you're going to lose some response time because now you're going to have to chamber a round in M4. Not to mention if you are a law enforcement patrolman and you can't carry a handgun.

Speaker 2

What's the other option? Correct, shotgun. I haven't seen too many patrolmen carry a shotgun, certified on that, no more so. And maybe that's what the security forces enterprise is thinking like. Hey, look, we need to have a backup weapon. So if we tell people to stop carrying m18, what are they going to? What are they going? Why are they going to carry? I think. However, I think if I was the parents of airman lovin.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, I mean man, I mean, come on like he's I think he's barely 20 some years old, 21, 21, 21, yeah. And you got to be able to tell their parents like, hey, look, you know, I'm sorry, the untimely passing of your son because of an accident of a handgun and there's question on the operational capability of a handgun.

Speaker 1

You know that's a delicate dance, you know. You know it reminds me I'm sorry to cut you off to uh soze's point. Uh, it could be a problem with the holster. I'm not sure if it was in the holster, they took it out of the holster, but that could be a problem as well. Holster, I'm not sure if it was in the holster or they took it out of the holster, but that could be a problem as well.

Speaker 1

So I think, man, it's just like when I was security forces and we were using this weapon, everybody knew the weapon had issues. Like I said, when it first came out the Anyaka Research, there was a bunch of accidental discharges all over the place and they were giving people Article 15s because they thought it was a personnel problem. We weren't doing procedures correctly and everybody was saying, like, man, this is a problem with this gun, but what does CADM do? They do the political thing that we're supposed to do, that we all taught to do. These people told us we need to use the weapon. This is all we got. We're going to train you the best we can and you need to do the best you can to move forward, because we trust the people that are over us that gave us a safe, reliable resource to get the job done.

Speaker 1

And when the resource is not safe and reliable, somebody needs to come down and say, hey, let me take this away. But they wait for an incident to happen. And then people want to say, hey, let me look at me, I'll save y'all. Nobody hold, handle this weapon, no more. To philly's point. Now, this is a resource that the cops don't have. So now you're at the gate. It's a lot easier to carry m9 than m4, so you're getting fatigued quicker. You're carrying a whole bunch of extra rounds with you that you're probably never going to use. So there's a whole bunch of factors than just saying take the weapon away from everybody, you need to look. That should have been looked at way beforehand, way, way beforehand. I'm ready to uh, move on to this subject, but if you got anything, yeah yeah, I'll just.

Speaker 2

I'll just. Let's see joe kimbrough. What's up, bro? He's from the security force center. He would know a lot more than me. Joe says uh I missed it.

Speaker 1

My concerns outside of the recent loss is, uh, the confidence of our defenders with the mat.

Speaker 2

That's exactly what I just talked about.

Speaker 1

Great point what great point do you see? Great point. He put it more. He says follow the money, follow the money.

Speaker 2

Yeah uh, let's put a bow on this and then move on. Let's see, hold on. Faith says different point of view, but as if you know this was an issue and you don't make the change now that something tragic has happened and you just verified that my defender life means less.

Speaker 1

Oh man, I thought we were putting a bow on it. Yeah, that's a, that's a tough one.

Speaker 2

I'll just I'll just say this and we can move on again. My my deepest condolences to Aaron Lovin's hopefully I'm pronouncing his last name correctly family for their untimely loss. Hopefully we can get to the bottom of what happened. Moving on Before I jump into the next topic, did any of you guys have something you? Guys wanted to bring up.

Speaker 1

Yes.

Speaker 2

Nope, I'm good.

Speaker 3

Pete.

Speaker 1

No, I'm good.

Speaker 2

Pete, no, we're good.

Speaker 3

What DC guy is he about to bring up?

Speaker 2

Pete how much time we got. What I don't want to do is 20 minutes. We good, Okay, good.

Speaker 3

He going to be asking for permission to cut you off.

Travis Hunter's Marriage Troubles

Speaker 2

Yo, let me put this in perspective. Let's say you guys are away from the house and you get news of somebody robbing your house and you come home and you meet the police and next thing you know you're in handcuffs. How would you feel? Well, that happened to the superstar Glorilla, and she had some folks break into her house and when the police went in her house to investigate they found marijuana and some drug paraphernalia and then she was taken to jail. Thoughts on that. It's a good mug shot too, it is.

Speaker 3

It is. I was like she didn't miss.

Speaker 1

So why she got arrested? Because there was paraphernalia drugs in her house, because she has a house here in Georgia.

Speaker 3

So my problem is, because it's been on the news since it happened, I'm like, first of all it's her house. She's calling y'all to let y'all know, but in my mind I'm playing devil's advocate. How y'all know that ain't left from the people that tried to rob my house right, like that you can laugh. But I'm like, how y'all know that's not from them. They were, I'm not there and then you're trying to charge me with it. But I'm calling let y'all know like, hey, somebody is in my house, but that's probably their stuff.

Speaker 1

I mean, hey, philly, I'm not going to lie, that's your stupid fault. If that is your drug, that's your stupid fault. Like if I'm doing cocaine in my house and somebody rides in my house. I'm not going to call the cops and be like.

Speaker 3

Help me now.

Speaker 1

Messed up man. Yo yo hey, if I'm sitting there running a coke shop and I'm freaking the cartel in my house. I'm not going to call the cops and be like hey, somebody stole these drugs from me, Come help me.

Speaker 3

I mean, I mean, I mean, I mean.

Speaker 2

I'm looking it up. I'm looking it up now.

Speaker 3

I don't think it's a joke, like when I saw it I was like she probably has some squatters sitting in her house. That was going on and shout out to anybody who's from Georgia. But Georgia's a whole different beast when we talk about. You can go on Instagram and follow this page called Atlanta Scoop ATL Scoop.

Speaker 3

When I tell you like I got side swiped on Friday night, like your girl was chilling at the sushi lounge by myself, got in my car, I was like, okay, I'm about to go home. Like this dude was in, he was in own like oncoming traffic illegally trying to pass me. And then, pete, you'll see, now that I'm retired, it'd be like two tears in a bucket. You know what? Right, I ain't gonna lie. He, he tried to force his way in and I wouldn't move. So I just let him side swipe my car and I I was like and then I just pulled up in a gas station and I got out and looked at the damage on the car and he was like, now why you had to go. Do that right, you got me up because I wasn't moving. I was not moving. So atlanta is a whole different type of beast, I'm telling y'all. I waited two hours for the cop to come Two hours. Do you hear me?

Speaker 1

That's about right, you right, so Philly.

Speaker 3

I'm going to let you go.

Speaker 2

PJ said 21 pounds.

Speaker 1

Girl, if you got 20, it ain't like you got a pound and you forgot about it 21 pounds is crazy.

Speaker 3

If you got 20, it ain't like you got a pound and you forgot about it 21 pounds is crazy. That ain't hers. That's why I'm telling you them folks came in there Probably, Probably 21 pounds. Gorilla probably is 21 pounds. I'm just kidding. But, in no way I feel like them people brought that with them. They were like she ain't here, we about to set her up.

Speaker 2

It's probably why she was performing at the WNBA.

Speaker 1

While we here, oh, pj said two pounds. Two pounds. Okay, you just forgot about your two pounds. Okay, you ain't getting a lot of jail time for that. You be good.

Speaker 2

But someone put that there. You think somebody set her up, huh.

Speaker 3

People that came in trying to rob me left it there and I'm calling y'all the po-po. You're all arrested. Yes, it was in Duluth, I want to say so Duluth is, I want to say I think it was in Duluth, so Duluth is a nice area.

Speaker 1

Thanks, Faith.

Speaker 3

Love you, Faith.

Speaker 1

Hit me up later, yo. That's like Jess. That's like you get sideswiped and you got five pounds of cocaine in your car. You can't call the cops.

Speaker 3

Well, first of all, I'm not. I went to DARE. Don't do drugs, Right?

Speaker 1

Went to DARE. It's crazy.

Speaker 3

They're going to be here somewhere. If they're not Really going to go there, mine is going to be here, like Pete, I'm from the country. You can hide them under the wheel. Well, like, we're going to figure out, but they're going to real. Well, like, we gonna figure out, like, but they gonna be hit Right.

Speaker 1

I'm telling you, pete, it probably wasn't hers, it probably wasn't hers, but you can't call the cops when you got drugs in your house.

Speaker 3

I'm not gonna lie to you. Out here it's different. It might be Okay, pete, I had sake at the sushi lounge and then, like I'm calling my family, I was like yo, I just got in a car accident. Here go my daughter. Was you drinking? I was like yeah, I was, but I said it was 0013. She was like what the hell is that? Because I was like don't worry about it, I'm calling the police. So when the police showed up, I was like yo, I was drinking, I had was. Like yo, I was drinking.

Speaker 1

I had one drink, though, like and you never. I just right on my accident report. Yeah, yeah, all right, go ahead, philly. We talked a lot.

Speaker 2

Go ahead yo y'all bugging boy yo I'm retired, my head hurt. Pete your assessment that you said. You know she definitely.

Speaker 1

Yeah, she threw me, don't call the cops, put the wheel up?

Speaker 2

You don't think she was set up, though Probably.

Speaker 1

Why would they set her up though?

Speaker 3

If you were set up, then you could defend it in court.

Speaker 1

Yep, you could defend it in court. You can defend it in court and, like Jess said, when I go to court I'm going to tell them they planted this. How do you know that wasn't planted in my house. That's an easy argument.

Speaker 3

And then I guarantee you, I'm like she has to have cameras in her house. I'm pretty sure that's what I'm thinking.

Speaker 1

So why would you even call the cops? Look at the camera and just turn over the tape. Don't let them in your house.

Speaker 3

He can still do insurance Insurance too Because I ain't going to get no door fixed that somebody else picked in Like I won't pick up my insurance.

Speaker 1

But you give them the ring camera footage, like hey, y'all ain't got to come in the house, I'll just give you everything that was stolen. I don't need y'all licking stuff, just do a quick report and be on your way, y'all bugging boy.

Speaker 2

Okay, moving on. Oh, let's try a bonus. If you got yayo in the house, don't call the cops. If you get robbed, just take the L.

Speaker 1

Just take the L.

Speaker 3

If you going in there and we bathing and list the ring.

Speaker 1

I'm going to call the cops, we calling the cops Like Mr Cassette flush it down the toilet and then call the cops.

Speaker 2

Yo Marquis said you have to wait to call some brigadier to pop up. And like hey, yo, I got burglars coming in my house. Police, hey, but don't go in this room behind this door, underneath the bed, underneath the floorboard second floorboard for the right Don't touch that, no, yeah.

Speaker 1

All right, moving on Kitchen and right five feet in the living room. That's it, anything beyond? That you ain't got no word to search nothing now moving on.

Speaker 2

Some of you if you remember previous shows ago, we had a long discussion about Travis Hunter and his new bride and about prenups. We also discussed Jalen Hurts not getting a prenup when he married his wife. Now reports have come out that Travis Hunter and his bride are considering a divorce after only two months. Of course, sounds like somebody might be losing their bag.

Speaker 3

Don't smile and say it now.

Speaker 1

Yeah, exactly these are quick thoughts. You, exactly, these are the quick thoughts. You rich dummy, you balling ass, dum-dum, all I think about?

Speaker 3

is that picture of him smiling Right?

Speaker 1

How you get the bag and lose the bag that quick, bro. You getting tackled by your girl. You ain't got tackled in NFL yet you are getting you getting the balls in front of the girl.

Speaker 3

I'm talking about me.

Speaker 2

I promise you.

Speaker 3

Mom like when it comes to time like get back, like get out of his face. But you know what, when she first, this is how crazy he is, and I'm not even talking about the man who tried to put him on free game and everybody was like, oh, he's getting attacked. This is the one time in this generation that I honestly saw men I'm talking about. I don't care if you black, white, purple men came together to try to give you free game and you didn't appreciate it. You thought that everybody was against you and I was like man. It's an outpour of respect from these men who have been there and done that, trying to get him together to understand. But, baby, when she sat on that sofa and she wants to stand up for you, that's right. That was strike number one. Strike number two is when she got a terrible aim up there, I'm about to knock my pipe, baby.

Speaker 3

Buster up a hole. You're about to knock your ass over the window. Reagan, Do you hear me?

Speaker 1

She up there getting his Hall of Fame trophy. She up there with the. Oh yeah, I can't wait.

Speaker 3

She about to clean up like she had to do. You hear me.

Speaker 1

He fumbled the bag before he fumbled the ball.

Speaker 2

Wait a minute, somebody help me out. No one believes in taking a chance on love. Yeah, sure, go ahead.

Speaker 1

Not when you're getting a million dollars, not when you're getting millions of dollars. That's not the time to take a chance when you broke. Like me, you can take as many chances as you want. You got some money.

Speaker 3

You know what I would honestly say. It's a protection factor. I would get a prenup At this stage in my life. Let me make it somewhere and I get married. Guess what, pimpin what you had before you came. I like to look at it like this Whatever we build together, we can divide, but you're not getting what I know that I have worked hard for, but that pretty much doesn't come in place, but.

Speaker 2

Jess no no, philly, just give me a second Pause. Give me a second, jess. Think in your mind right now of the guy that you would put together aesthetically that is very attractive to you okay, that's good, easy on the eyes now this dude don't have the degrees or the money you have, but but he look damn good.

Speaker 2

Just looks like me and y'all going out, he winding it down you at McDonald's or whatever, or Chili's or whatever, because he ain't got a lot of money, mind you, but he look damn good. You would get a prenup. If he want to marry you, come on Just love.

Speaker 3

Let me tell you something. I'm from the country where we getting that prenup. You know what my family be like. You so picky, I will get somebody. I think Sherry, one of the comedians, said it I'll get me a man that work at a gas station. Baby, guess what? I will press that shirt out for you and make sure you're on Uber, because I'm not dropping you off and you're not using my car. I'm just not in the stage of my life like you said. Aesthetically pleasing, you can only beat me so far.

Speaker 1

This ain't he don't look like. You beat me, you a hater. You a hater. You a hater. You about to get back in there.

Speaker 3

No, I want a prenup. That's right. No offense, dc. You and Wendy got that good old school love where you know it reminds me of the move of the wood. Like you, probably Y'all got that kind of love. Pete got that love from love and basketball. I'm just trying to get that love from brown sugar, you know, because I love them. I do not want no dude trying to make me pay for all the hurt that another woman has caused you.

Speaker 2

And.

Speaker 3

I think right now, men and women are so paranoid. So's my problem with travis hunter. You're living in an era where everything is superficial, that's right, everything is. And like I tell my son, like please, please. I said I'm trying my best to lead and show you what a woman is supposed to be like, even your sister, but please don't bring home somebody that can't measure up, because, number one, we're gonna clown them. They better have a good sense of humor and they better have a strong mental capacity, because it ran over. But I just think with him it's like what were you missing? And you had your mom. Like you had your mom there.

Speaker 1

That was, you should have had Jalen Daniels mama baby.

Speaker 3

I said that's gonna be me baby Jalen.

Speaker 1

No you can't date her. You can't date my son.

Speaker 3

I think she's doing sexerycom, so we can really figure out where she from. That's right. I think she's doing Sestricom, so we can really figure out where she from.

Speaker 1

That's right. Listen, they get married and get that from Tricare and the BX benefits. Yeah, exactly, exactly.

Speaker 2

Okay, so let's put a bow on this, Yo. If you ain't making no money like Pete, no need for a prenup If you making money pete no need for a prenup.

Speaker 1

If you making money like travis hunter, get a prenup I ain't got the money symbol, but yeah, 100 give yourself one, all right, so I'm sure you guys have before we go. Oh, okay you said you had I'm sorry, and then I'm done and there I go, okay, uh, okay, okay. Yeah, jess, I'm sorry, we're going to go there. Everybody in the comments, it's your time to roast me and I'm okay with that.

Speaker 3

What he done opened up the floodgate.

Speaker 1

For all the members of the WNBA.

Speaker 3

Hold on, you know who really need to be here and who name ain't see pop up, is Chuck Charles Davis. Oh, no, no, no, no, charles Davis on vacation.

Speaker 1

Look For all the women in the WNBA. Shut the F*** up. You're not gonna get paid yet. It is not your time to get Paid yet. I don't need you Coming out there talking about pay me what you owe me. We don't owe you S***. We owe you what you're getting paid. Put a better product out there and you'll get paid more. You've been in the red for dang 25 years, the one year you might be in the black. All of a sudden, you want to get paid. You're not gonna get paid. Stop hating on Kaitlyn Clark. She is y'all golden goose. Stop hating on Kaitlyn Clark. She is your golden goose. Stop hating on her. Ride her Pause.

Speaker 2

Jess, I'm going to let you have this one, I'll be, quiet.

Speaker 3

First of all, you really want to get down roasted today. That's a former ball player. He was supposed to be assistant basketball coach at green county high school. Let me put you on game about basketball. There were legends. Before caitlyn cart, you had leslie, you had cheryl swoots. Yeah, cynthia cooper like let me know all the way back. So like, right so the area that we're currently in. It's called the equal pay act. So with the equal, oh yeah, look at you.

Speaker 1

I can't wait I can't.

WNBA Pay Dispute Controversy

Speaker 3

Oh yeah, look at you so that equal pay act. All they're doing is saying like hey, when? Because it's more of an interest now because of the type of players that you have. But when I saw the shirts because some I saw the shirts that they initially had, and then I saw what somebody created a meme and changed what the shirt said. But I'm just like seriously like why are y'all acting like that when it comes to women playing basketball? I just think things that, like bird and car malone and John Stockman got away with back in the day. It's like they're doing it in a women's capacity now. And why is it an issue?

Speaker 1

Because that's what I look for, jess. Here's the issue the WNBA isn't making any money. How are you going to ask for money when the company's not making money? That's like you working for a company and saying, hey, I need to get paid more. It's like you working for a company and saying, hey, I need to get paid more. It's like yo, we're not making more money. Once we make more money, then you could get paid more. And I understand they want percentages, but they want their percentage to go up.

Speaker 1

Cool, where do you want that money to come from? Because because they wanted to have the title of nba. If they would have created a women's league that didn't have nba in it, they wouldn't have to pay the nba 500 million dollars every year to keep that title. So let the title go and then maybe you'll make more money. The other thing is what is that noise? I don't know, dc what the just sit. Still, I'm cooking right now.

Speaker 1

The other thing is y'all didn't have to fly private last year. You would have been in the black if you didn't fly private. But you will not only want to fly private now. You want more money because of Kaitlyn. Clark is the majority of the reason why your marketing is going up, your TV advertisements are going up, your sales for tickets when she plays goes up is because yo, it's like michael jordan, don't hate on her, use her and she don't care. Because she's getting 11 million dollars in endorsements more than any other wmba player. Some is more than nba players, wmba players combined. I love the game. I love the WNBA game I do. I think it has its place, but right now y'all cannot ask huh what about Wilson?

Speaker 3

you seen him talking about Tate McClure.

Speaker 1

Asia Wilson. Yeah, I love Asia Wilson, but you know what sucks. She's a big woman, big men, big women don't move, doesn't move, the doesn't move the league, just like Shaq, shaq, shaq. Shaq was the only one, but Shaq had his time. Once Shaq's time was up, it's up. Somebody like Curry will always move the needle, because not a lot of women can relate to being a 6'5 woman, just like a lot of women can relate to being a 6'5 woman, just like a lot of men can't relate to be seven foot 303 how tall is candace parker?

Speaker 3

because I can't remember four or six, five and so, like you know, britney got um now he's a beast too.

Speaker 1

Let me get to all these comments. Wnba plays half the games and half the teams also. Well, they play Yep. No, I think they play every team, but they only play half the games as the men. Very true, very, very true. They about to get their money in new TV deals, okay, well, wait till next year. Wait till next year. Don't ask for the money now. You ain't doing shit now.

Speaker 3

Close my eyes, don't get fed.

Speaker 1

But don't make it a protest, don't make it look like a protest. You're going. Every NBA has never protested how much they get paid and they get astronomical deals.

Speaker 2

You said they never protest, how much they got paid.

Speaker 1

They went on strike a couple times they did go on strike. Strike is different than a protest. Strike is like F y'all, If you don't pay me, I ain't coming. Protest is saying we're still going to show up, but we're going to wear T-shirts that say pay us our money.

Speaker 2

So let me provide a different take.

Speaker 2

Can you do you agree that, even though they're not making money, they've made more money in the past two years, right, and who came in the league two years ago? I, I? I'm not talking about that yet. I'm talking about the players. Maybe, from the players perspective, they're saying hey, we're getting more attention, we're bringing in more money all albeit not as much as the nba, and it's still in the red but they said we are still bringing in more money, so we deserve a piece of the pie. Maybe that's what they're saying but what?

Speaker 1

I'm already losing money. So this bigger piece of the pie you're getting, I'm already in the red because I'm giving you a piece of the pie then you want a bigger piece of the pie.

Speaker 3

Like, who do they have at the top when it comes to strategizing?

Speaker 1

because, like no, that it's.

Speaker 1

It's an upper management issue absolutely, that's what I'm trying to say I will give you that it's definitely an upper management issue because they are taking too many profits away from coaches maybe, owners maybe, but owners by the team. They want to get their money back. But but players, you're okay, it's not like you're. I mean, I think the average is like 70,000 or the minimum I think it is is 70,000 for the WNBA. You're fine, you are fine. It's not like you're getting paid $10,000. Now you only play four months out the year. That's all the WNBA season is the. The year that's all the wmba season is. The nba season is seven months. So maybe if you expand once you expand and get more teams you're going to get more teams next year the money will come. Stop making protests to ask for just I. I almost sound like somebody else when I say just play basketball, work on the product being better.

Speaker 2

Alright. So I'm going to provide another view, Because even though they're not making money, is it the player's fault? Nope, no, it's the league. So that's what I'm saying when people say. When you say play ball, it's more than that. There's only been so much they can do. And can we agree? The WNBA has has gained more traction and more attention in the past two, three years, with, to your point earlier, caitlin Clark coming in right Correct. So what's more? What more can they do? I guess here's the problem.

Speaker 1

The players who have been there for five, six, seven years are the ones asking for more money.

Speaker 3

You had your time to make the league great.

Speaker 1

Now, all of a sudden, the league is good, mostly because of one person.

Speaker 2

But you got, you got to talk about sports analysis perspective.

Speaker 3

So like sports has changed so much. And I'm'm like I know we're talking about the wnba and the nba, but it makes me think too about the football. When you're looking at the portal, like they done paid back so much down there that dude ain't even got to consider the nfl, in my opinion, because it's like why look how much I'm getting paid just to be on this college football team? Why would I even go to the NFL? So I think when you're looking at the Kaitlyn Clark coming in, those more seasoned players are like, look, before you pump out extra money to these youngins, where is ours?

Speaker 1

but you had time to make the league good. Y'all couldn't do it. This one woman, come it, came in and lit a spark to y'all. So y'all, it's not like they didn't have the opportunity, but a lot of things happen over time. Right, inflation happens over time, tv deals happens over time, networks happen over time. There's a lot that goes into it. But saying like pay us what you owe us, hold on, what are you doing? Saying that we owe you extra money, what has changed?

Speaker 3

But I think it comes, like we just said, from an upper management perspective. We are missing from an upper management perspective where, like I think, if I'm not mistaken, liberty just invested in their team so much money, Like they got state of the art, like facilities now Right, right, right, it was like championship team, right, but their owners also invest in them well, if you win, I got more money to invest in you one of their connecticut sons who won three games this year.

Speaker 3

They're not going to get a new stadium but one of the ladies I don't remember her name, but she spoke when we were at the essence festival about that like just trying to pull the wmba up and then just giving them if not the same opportunities of nba, but bringing them up to the same capacity no, that's impossible, because y'all I mean ticket prices alone for a wmba game are probably an eighth for what they are for an NBA game.

Speaker 1

So if your ticket price, if your revenue is not good, I can't give you more money. There's no, just play ball. And if revenue gets better, ticket price gets better. We can raise ticket prices because it's really like you said, it's an upper management thing. Upper management is not going to give you more money unless they're getting more money. It's just like if you work for at&t, the, the ceo of at&t is making more than the ceo of boost mobile because they get more customers. So it's like if boost mobile had the customers at&t then ask for more money. But right now you can't. And how you can help yourself out? Don't hate on each other. Help each other, build each other up. It doesn't matter if Caitlin Clark is the goat or not, or the goat of the league, which I don't think she is. I think Asia Wilson is, but the girl really.

Speaker 1

I think Nafisa is you just like how she looks?

Speaker 2

no, it's more than that, man. She going to be MVP man.

Speaker 1

But I think those girls. She's also a big woman, but I think those girls.

Speaker 3

Hold on, pete, I don't like how you be. I know exactly. Thank you, jess, you know how she's a big woman, just be like the Amazon. But when you say big woman, it makes me think of Rasputia. Big woman, it makes me think of Rasputia. She's a taller woman, big woman.

Speaker 1

She plays a taller person position. Thank, you.

Speaker 2

I think they're trying to explore.

Speaker 1

Caitlyn Clark, but I think y'all need to, just whoever the person is they're trying to push up. Stop fighting against it and fight with it. Go with the tide and then you'll get your money later on. I think it's healthy oh sorry, no, it wouldn't change. It wouldn't change because I'm not gonna live my life like I'm making millions of dollars. If I'm not, if I'm making, like, kayla Clark ain't complaining how much money she's getting, she's not saying pay me what you owe me.

Speaker 2

Does anybody? Did she wear the t-shirt?

Speaker 1

Yeah, she did, but she got forced to wear it pretty much. How do you know she got?

Speaker 3

forced to wear it.

Speaker 1

Well, Kelsey Plum came out in an interview and said that they had a meeting about wearing the shirt.

Speaker 2

Oh yeah, I think her whole team wasn't wearing it, correct.

Speaker 1

But here's what I get pissed off at. You got your girl, who's very beautiful. What's her name? Nafisa. She won that All-Star Game MVP. She's getting her interview and behind you, this sorry-ass, lackluster player is holding up a sign saying pay us what you owe. This is not your time to protest. You did it before the game, now you want to do it when somebody is getting their flowers. Let her have her moment.

Speaker 1

The one time of your year that you get interviewed. Then you can have your moment and protest whatever you want, but don't fuck up somebody else's, Don't mess up somebody else's moment because you want to sit here and protest. That is not your time. Stop working against the tide. Work with the tide. Get a bigger ship and break through the tide. I'm done.

Speaker 3

Keep that same energy when college football started break through the tide.

Speaker 1

Keep that same energy when college football starts. Roll, tide Roll tide.

Speaker 2

Only thing I will say on this is I'm sure the players are aware that the WNBA is not making as much money as they should be making. I'm sure they know, but they probably still feel that they have. Their worth has ascended in the past two, three years, like I mentioned before. So they're like yo, we are making more money, maybe not as much as y'all want us to make. How about we see some of it? That's what they're thinking, not saying I agree with them, not saying I don't agree with them. I'm just saying in their mind they're like we don't care that we're not making the money that the NBA is making or what you think we should be making. We just know because of the popularity we see butts in seats and because of that we're like well, where's our money at? Why can't we make more money? But I will say to your point about kaylin clark you are right. I think kaylin clark unfortunately has anointed the chosen one. Right, because she's bringing people in seats. They want to see kaylin clark but unfortunately it it it puts a shadow on other good players, even previous players like who they like yo.

Speaker 2

Cheryl swoops was great. Lisa leslie was great. Uh, diana, what's her name that they know. You know I'm saying even today, um page beckers. Asia, what's asia? Who's it? Asia wilson, um what's her name? From new york, sabrina Neske. You know what I'm saying. New School, whatever her name is. But Kaitlyn Clark gets all the attention. I also argue Angel Reese too, for some theatrics. I personally think 2K messed up by putting her on the cover they should have paid the money.

Speaker 2

Put Kaitlyn Clark on it.

Speaker 1

I agree with everything you say. Let me address Thomas White because he says bro, bro, they just signed a $2.2 billion deal.

Speaker 2

Let me address Thomas White. Let me address hey, I need some of that.

Speaker 1

I don't care what you talk about. Here's the problem, thomas. Here's the problem. They've been losing money for 25 years. Some of the owners have been with. So, yeah, they get a $2.2 billion deal next year. So that's going to take two, three years for the players to see it. It's not my fault. You're the player To Philly's point.

Speaker 1

It sucked when LeBron James came in the league because they said he was the chosen one. Put him all over. Espn magazines Gave him a Nike endorsement deal. That was the biggest endorsement deal ever done and you have players that's been playing that deserved it way before he did.

Speaker 1

But they don't hate on LeBron James. They let the media hate on him. They let other people you had nowhere. Kobe Bryant came out and said man, this dude LeBron James sucks. This is LeBron James. No, they don't do that. That's what I'm saying the WNBA needs to do. Stop hating on whoever is chosen to be the golden one, because it's not. You Ride the same wave. I think there's a saying that all rises ships are all waves. Rise, all ships or whatever it is. Just be a ship in the ocean and when the wave rises, you'll ride too. Stop trying to be the best, stop trying to be the number one, because you know what. There's enough money, there's enough endorsements that, if you are that good, people recognize you and give you a shoe contract, give you a whatever a jersey contract, give you a a perfume.

Speaker 2

But you really think that's true? Like what other wmba player besides caitlyn clark, angel reese, has got a legitimate shoe deal? Sabrina nescu angel, oh, is there anybody in the chat know have seen Sabrina Inescu's sneaker or heard of it. Stand by, wait, wait, wait, just because you all heard of it.

Speaker 3

You watch Shannon Sharp. Are we going to talk about him?

Speaker 2

Oh yes, we have to. We have to. Let's put this to the bone and move on.

Speaker 3

Why he done printed out some white letters and put them on a shoe, exactly.

Speaker 1

Sabrina too. Those are Sabrina too, I love.

Speaker 2

Sabrina. Charmaine said Wilson, forgive me, charmaine, asia, oh, she's got a shoe.

Speaker 1

Yeah, I got those too, those are over there.

Speaker 3

Yeah, he likes Sabrina the teenager. You know what he called them a Sabrina too.

Speaker 2

I would give Pete credit. This is a man who is excited about a female WNBA shoe. Hey, this tells you the WNBA has credibility.

Speaker 1

It does, but give it some time. I buy the shoes. How much is?

Speaker 2

time. How long has WNBA been around? Like 20-something years 25.

Speaker 1

There ain't enough time? No, because they've been losing money for 25 years can you?

Speaker 2

can you clarify something? When you say losing money, can you be more specific sure?

Speaker 1

so the league owes the nba 500 million dollars a year. Every year they have to pay back 500 million dollars. That's the first check. Foul 500 million because they want to use the nba's name. So the nba say, hey, we'll market y'all, we'll share some nba players with you know, nba players have to go to wmba players games. That's in their contract to go to w because they are trying to push the wmba. So there has been things out there that has tried to move the needle I just have I stand educated, thank you, I didn't say.

Speaker 1

Pete got the payload box with the label okay, but but let's, let's put this in the bowl.

Speaker 2

Put this in the bowl, pete, and let's quickly move on and talk about, uh, uncle, uncle shannon I don't know anything about oh that he got off the uh, he paid, or there was an undisclosed amount that he paid yeah, yes two days ago he reached a settlement what was the settlement or it's undisclosed put the bow on it, so we can move on 50 million oh no, the bow is on it. I got roasted enough okay, thank you, thomas white, for being in the comments.

Speaker 1

Love you, bruh all right I'm sorry, just go ahead so what?

Speaker 3

a few days ago, shannon sharp reaches settlement in 50 million dollar lawsuit. So he resolved the lawsuit accusing him of sexual assault. 50 million dollars, yes, sir, for pain and suffering, psychological and emotional distress, mental anguish, embarrassment, humiliation. I was like, hey, you would never do stuff. All that stuff you put in those text messages. And then it says additionally sharp alleged recorded allegedly recorded that sexual encounters without her consent and was physically abusive, choked and struck though and threatened her life multiple times $50 million.

Speaker 2

Baby Yo, if he didn't do it, would he pay $50 million?

Speaker 1

What did he ask for in the beginning? Or what did she ask for? Was it $20 million? She? Asked for something I thought it was $20 million at the beginning.

Speaker 3

What do you really want to know? Because I'm trying to not say it, but you know she really wanted a big black baby, oh she wanted that 18-year bag.

Speaker 1

That's what she wanted. Fatality.

Speaker 3

Fatality. I can't help it. I learned I'm going to be black.

Speaker 2

Just the spicy one today. That's crazy. You get the spicy one.

Speaker 3

Hey, I had brunch today. You know that's crazy. That's not my new bartender skills.

Speaker 2

Yo, what my new bartender skills. So tell me like is it? I'm not a, obviously I'm not a millionaire and I'm not a big personality, but why would you pay her 50 million dollars? Oh, it's a settlement. Does it hold? Does that make y'all think that he did something? He did do it? Yeah, that's all he was receiving. So should he still keep his job? Should we still watch him and have the same respect for him? I?

Speaker 1

don't think he should be cancelled.

Speaker 3

I don't think he should be cancelled, but this should teach his ass a lesson on who to mess with.

Speaker 1

What was that?

Speaker 3

comedian name is like he like big women in pete's voice, um, but to see him with that, that little bit of girl look like a string bean. I was just shocked, like I was really shocked. I was like girlfriend ain't even got no plums, let alone pe, and you done sat up here and did all this in a text message with a 19-year-old. I just wish he would do like Monique said Go find somebody your age with him.

Speaker 1

Yeah, Monique said it.

Speaker 2

Sharma, you said he settled because she could get more. Does that mean he did something? Yeah, he chose. How come? Jay-z right?

Speaker 1

Jay-Z was like they tried to get Jay-Z many times he was on voicemails and text messages. You know what.

Speaker 2

But did Jay-Z ever get? Did they ever get Jay-Z ever?

Speaker 3

Baby Jay-Z had that stuff so locked, so tight. That's what I'm saying. But no, but you know what? I read something the other day about Jay Z. Every time somebody comes out, one thing about him he don't open up his mouth. That's my type of dude like he going to the grave, he gonna be, he mute. What more can?

Speaker 2

I say, huh. So Joe said he wouldn't pay if he didn't do it. That's what he say. Joe Kimbrough said he wouldn't pay if he didn't do it. Thomas says's what you say. Joe Kimbrough said he wouldn't pay if he didn't do it. Thomas says absolutely, Michelle will be likely fired.

Speaker 1

Talking about that. She didn't know she was being recorded. That's what I would have said. She gonna be next.

Speaker 2

How is it that if we did something like that, we get canceled, but if you're a celebrity you get a pass? Is?

Speaker 3

that right? No, it's not a pass. I think it's the type of celebrity you are. I don't think you get a pass. I just think it is who you are, because.

Speaker 1

Jordan.

Speaker 3

Sharp, I think what helps him? He's not married. He's not married, he can do whatever he want to do. We just question for me, I question the age, like it just makes me think, like as many women I'm pretty sure that are throwing themselves at you. When I saw her picture and then no offense when I saw the ex-girlfriend that he used to deal with, I'm like damn, like you, like I tell people, like I think I look good, but I was just like yo ain't no way. I was like I'm pretty sure he could have found another, like would you say dc, aesthetically pleasing, but between the washer and the dryer I was like where he get the?

Speaker 2

Like we locked in, like if you ain't like me and my man, like I'm not sending you that, if we just like buddies, like ain't, no way, I'm gonna sit up there and be like oh, I want you to do this.
