Healing Waters - Day 60
Proverbs 18:21 – Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Words have a creative power; words written, spoke, or add to music all carry great influence. Proverbs 16:24 says, "Pleasant words are like a honeycomb, sweetness to the soul and health to the bones." Proverbs 6:2 says, "You are snared by the words of your mouth; You are taken by the words of your mouth." Meaning we can speak pleasant words that bring healing or speak words that will harm ourselves and others.
We are encouraged throughout the Bible to pay attention, listen, and obey God's Words. John 6:63 tells us that God's words bring Life, "It is the Spirit who gives Life; the flesh profits nothing. The words that I speak to you are Spirit, and they are Life." In the last 59 devotionals, I have discussed God's words concerning your healing, and it is my hope and my prayer that you understand fully that our God wants you well, in your mind, body, soul, and Spirit. God has given us His last will and testaments; the Bible, the Words of Life, and our belief in those words and our actions based on that belief will determine the rest of our today, tomorrow, and our eternity. When you are experiencing pain or distress, it matters what you say. The Bible; God's testaments are clear. He came to save us, to bring us relief and healing. Jesus Christ came to deliverance from the works of evil and to give us Life. A life that has Godly significance; a life that brings Him glory; a life that is free from the oppression of Satan; a life that is abundant and flourishing. John 10:10 says, "The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have Life, and that they may have it more abundantly."
Let's make sure our words are in alignment with God's words. Friends, let's use our faith and the creative power of words we've been given and speak Life. It takes faith to see the feel pain, see the effects of sickness and devastation, hear the doctor's reports, and then turn around and speak something different, but that is precisely what God is asking you and me to do. To believe His words above all else and speak His words, not your feeling, not what you see, not what they did, not what the doctor said, or the news, financial, or school report is saying! He wants us to speak Life. In Genesis 1:2, "the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was on the face of the deep, And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters." God looked at that which was void and without form, He looked out into the darkness, and verse 3 says, "Then God said, Let there be light, and there was light." He called something into being that did not priorly exist. Romans 4:16-18 tells us that it is "God who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did." These verses also tell us that Abraham, "who is the father of us all, contrary to hope, in hope believed, so that he became the father of many nations, according to what was spoken, "So shall your descendants be." God gave Abraham a promise, and everything around him seemed contrary to what God had said, but Abraham, in hope, believed what God had said to him, and He received the fulfillment of God's promise.
Friends, God has given you and me many promises regarding our healing. He asks us to believe Him, believe His words, His words of Life, and not yield and give in to our circumstances. Faith demands it, faith calls those things which do not exist as though they did, faith speaks Life, faith believes God, and faith yields the impossible! Today's devotional text is Proverbs 18:21 - Death and Life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit. Friends, "Let's hold fast the confession of our faith without wavering, for He who promised is faithful." (Hebrews 10:23). Let's believe God for the impossible and Speak Life!
Let's Pray
Lord, I thank you that you are a promise-keeper! I thank you, Lord because I can and do trust Your Word, Words of Life! Isaiah 55: 11 says your Words shall not return to you void, but it shall accomplish what you please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto it was sent." Your Words, Lord! Today, I meditate on; I observe to obey your Word! I choose to believe and speak your Words, not what I see and not how I feel but your words of Life!
Psalm 18:2 says that you are my rock, my fortress, my deliverer, and my strength. So, I thank you for your protection, for your sustaining grace, and deliverance from evil. John 14:27 says that you have come to give me peace. So, I receive and walk in that peace today, In Jesus Name! Isaiah 53:5 says by the stripes of Jesus, I am healed, so I speak to every fiber of my physical, mental, and emotional being, and I command it to line up with your Word, right now In Jesus Mighty Name! And I thank Father for health and wholeness! Lord, you said in Proverbs 3:5-7 that if I acknowledged you in all my ways, you would give me direction. You said in John 16:13 that the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Truth would guide me into all truth, so be my guidance today, Lord and every day for the rest of my Life, In Jesus Name! Thank you, Lord, for helping us to understand the creative power of Words. Today, I purpose to speak Life and not death, may your glory be revealed in our midst as I obey you in speaking your Words, Words of Life, in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!
