Now with words, I released the music alone back in May. The waves were recorded in Northern California as I sat in the warm sun on a peaceful and beautiful beach. Let the words added to this podcast episode take you to a relaxing beach where you can allow yourself to let go.

Waves

While the music & waves surround you, see if you can create an image in your mind. Place yourself on a beach, taking in the sights and the sounds. Decide if you are lying down or sitting. Notice that you are feeling quite peaceful. As you fill in your vision, consider these elements: Is the air hot or cold? How does the sand feel against your hands or feet? How far out toward the horizon can you see? What is the colour of the water as the waves crash against the shore? Is the sky clear or cloudy? Are there other people on your beach, either with you or in their own spots? Are there people in the water? Beyond the sounds of the music and the waves, can you hear other people or birds? Make this your own personal image. It is A place where you feel safe and cared for.

Now as you picture yourself on this beach, notice your body. How does it feel? Do you feel heavy and weighted against the sand? Do you notice any tension? Check in with your breathing. Do not change anything as you notice how deep are your breaths? Are they shallow or laboured? Or maybe they are nice and smooth? Where does the air go as it enters your torso? How far does it expand toward your pelvis and shoulders? When you inhale and exhale can you feel your ribs expanding and contracting? Whatever you notice, see if you can gently invite your breaths to grow a slight bit more deep and smoother.

Now scan your body, noticing if there is tension. Just breathe and focus. Start with your feet, toes and ankles. Then check in with your calves, knees and thighs. Now notice your pelvis, buttocks and hips. Breathe into your belly and lower back. FEel your sternum, ribs and chest. How are your shoulders, arms and hands? Now tune into your neck, your jaw and your tongue. Finish with your eyes, brows and forehead. Imagine you can feel the top of your scalp.

Come back to your image. You are on a beach where you feel peaceful, secure and cared for.
