Soaring

Welcome to Guided harmonies, a podcast where I put words to my therapeutic music. My name is Margaret Dahlberg and today’s episode: Soaring, is all about promoting feeling good with ourselves and our world, at a time in which many of us are struggling to find our way with so many differing perspectives. While the words guide you with imagery, the vibrations in the music with connect to your body’s own vibrations and frequencies, creating a greater sense of well being.

Let’s get started.

Find a quiet place and sit back or lie down. Close your eyes and let the Guided Harmonies take you to a better place.

As the music surrounds you, think about your favourite place to be in the outdoors when it is warm and sunny. Imagine you are resting in that place. What do you see around you? What can you hear? Imagine that warm sun is helping you relax.

Check in with your breathing. Do not change anything, just notice what your body is doing to take in the air as well as releasing it. How far does the air go when you inhale? How smooth is your exhale? Just notice.

Now imagine a balloon the size of your torso. And every time you breathe, you gently fill that balloon. It continues to expand with every breath, ever so gradually. And as your balloon continues to grow and expand, you notice a lightness in your body. And as your body grows lighter, it begins to lift you right off of the ground. You begin to float upwards, moving above your favourite spot. You have a great view of that beloved place now. No wonder you love it so much!

You are now above your world and looking down. You may continue floating in the warm sun, feeling the gentle breeze on your body. Or perhaps you’d rather be in the basket of a hot air balloon. Or sitting on a magic carpet? Or maybe in a private jet? Or an invisible jet? You decide.

Now you are looking down at your world. And from here you can see everything. You feel no stress and have no questions about your past or future. Everything makes sense from way up here. You have a bird’s eye view. And it is beautiful. You can see your life and you feel a deep understanding and acceptance for how you have come to be who you are now.

Who can you see? Think about the people in your life, knowing that as you look down upon them, you suddenly accept where they come from. From here you can see why they do what they do, why they think what they think and why they say what they say. And now you feel you can love them more wholly. And you do not have to agree with them any more. You do not have to take what they say or do personally. You feel safe and secure with all that is.

Now as you listen to these words and this music, tune into your breathing again. With each exhale, imagine your torso balloon begins to every so gradually deflate. You slowly begin to descend back down and are gently deposited into your favourite spot again. You feel the warm sun, you feel invigorated by your journey in the sky. And most of all, you feel love and acceptance for all. Especially yourself.

Take some time before you open your eyes. Feel the support beneath you. And underneath that, the ground and the earth, holding you here now. Invite your breaths to intensify as you prepare to return to your world.

Thank you for joining me today.
