Focus: Feeling love(d). This episode is about trusting the relationship between the vibrations of the music and your brain. It is also about feeling love and feeling loved. Our conscious brains are such a small portion of our brain's function. And often, our conscious brain's need for control can get in our way. Let this episode allow you to let go and simply let things happen FOR you.

Welcome to Guided Harmonies, the podcast where I put words to my therapeutic music. My name is Margaret Dahlberg, and these episodes are designed to provide short moments of reconnect. Because I don't know about you, but I don't always have an hour to meditate. So I created these to take just a few minutes to recenter. My music is key to allowing such depth in a short time. All you need to do is sit back and listen with a gentle curiosity. If you doze off, it's not a big deal because your unconscious brain will respond to the vibrations of the music. And when you come back to presence, you will find you feel better. Today's episode is about trusting the process and allowing your brain and this music to work together to create the shift you are looking for. I wanted to reinforce this after doing some accelerated resolution trauma therapy myself. My therapist simply said, your brain will do it all. Just move your eyes back and forth. I was moved with how hard my conscious thoughts were trying to take control and do it right. What a gift to just be able to back off and let my brain do what it's programmed to do in that therapeutic modality. It was pretty cool. Anyway, the first song, Mindful Beauty, was written for a lovely and kind woman who strives for beauty in her life that has depth with her family of four children. And she truly exudes this beautiful vibration. Reverent Determination was written for another wonderful mother who strives to bring reverence for all that is. She recognizes how we can only do what we can, and that there is more to our stories than we have control over. These women's podcast episodes can be found on my other podcast, Miss Tweety's Parents. Just look up the titles of the songs and you'll find them. Let's get started. Sit back or lie down if you are able and close your eyes. Let these harmonies guide you to a better place. It could be a person or a pet from the past or present. Picture them as you lie here. Imagine that they are sitting here with you. Feel this love you have shared and experienced. It is pure and simple. This is something you can bask in, just like the warm sun. Perhaps it's in your chest around your heart. Maybe in your warm belly. Perhaps it's a full sensation that is hard to pin down. Just feel that love wherever or whatever it is. Imagine it is nourishing you, covering you in warmth and comfort. Continue basking in this image of this person or pet that you shared so much love with. Feel that warmth. Feel that acceptance. Feel that love. As the music shifts, know that this music and your brain will work together while you just lie here and breathe. Do not change anything. Love is unconscious power. Just breathe. Notice your ribcage moving as your lungs fill and empty without any conscious effort from you. Do not change anything. Just notice. Love is an enveloping energy. Just breathe and notice how deep are your breaths. Do not change anything. Just notice. Love is strength. Just breathe and notice how smoothly your breaths enter your body. Do not change anything, just notice. The music will do the rest. Just breathe. See if you can notice any places where there may be tension. Do not change anything. Just bring your focus to that part of your body. From there, the music and your brain will do the rest. It's as though you're simply shining a light on a dark spot on the wall. Maybe you notice holding in your jaw. Or your eyebrows. Or perhaps it's your neck or your shoulders. It may be a tightness in your belly. Wherever there is tension, just notice. It could be your toes or your ankles. Perhaps your knees. Just be curious. Maybe it's your pelvis or your hips. While you breathe, let the music and your brain do the rest. Love is calm. Just breathe. Notice the stillness of your body. Where do you feel the most heavy? Do not change anything. Just notice. Love is warmth. Just breathe. Can you feel pockets of warmth in your body? Where are they? Do not change anything, just notice love is love. Just believe? Notice the love enveloping your body. What is it to you? Is this love a color? An image? A vibration? An energy? An aura? Maybe it is simply a feeling. It can be anything. Love is love. If your breaths have slowed and deepened, you can energize them a bit before you let in the light. When you are ready, allow your eyes to crack open ever so gradually. Be sure to move slowly at first. Thank you for joining me today.
