Today’s guest is Sarah Powell, someone I’ve known for a couple of years since she was working as a Store Manager at Sports Direct and wanted my help in transitioning to a HR career. She’s now two years into a HR career and absolutely flying.
So I specifically asked Sarah if she’d be a guest as I get approached by a lot of people who are working in an operational role, maybe in retail or contact centres or in hospitality, and I know that by listening to Sarah’s story of how she successfully made the move, it will help them do the same.
There’s lots of great tips about reworking your CV, how to be tenacious and never give up, but how taking a leap of faith can also pay off in the long run. It certainly wasn’t an easy process and Sarah talks about the lows and how she wondered if she had really made the right decision. However, she stuck with her conviction and it really paid off in the end.
