On today’s show I have Geoff Cawley join me.
Geoff and I connected a few months ago when he asked me to support his search for a new HR role. I asked him if he’d come on and talk about his career as Geoff has operated as a very senior level and, for me, is in the top percentile bracket of HR practitioners in the UK – although he will probably disagree with me.
Therefore I think anyone with aspirations of career progression can take insights away from hearing Geoff talk about his career.
He actually started out in banking before transitioning into HR whilst working for the Royal Bank of Scotland. He has since worked as a Global HR Business Partner for Astra Zeneca, and most recently as Associate HR Director for Arup, including a secondment as their European HR Director.
It's a long episode as there was so much to cover and I felt as though we still only scratched the surface. However, there are plenty of lessons that can be taken away from listening to Geoff that will hopefully help you with your own career goals.
