On this episode we have Annabel Bass who is someone that made the transition from Recruitment Consultant to HR Advisor. I’ve spoken with lots of people over the years who are in recruitment but don’t enjoy the sales and want to know how they can leverage on the skills they have to move into HR. Therefore, I hope Annabel’s story will be a useful one to listen to.
Annabel was a Psychology graduate who had planned on getting into HR straight after university but was unsuccessful in securing a role on a graduate scheme. However, she tactically applied for alternative recruitment-orientated roles that would help her but, after a few years, felt she’d left it too long before making the transition. A chance opportunity presenting itself combined with her being vocal about her desire to get into HR meant that she ultimately made that leap.
We also chew the fat a bit on the recruitment industry itself but to be honest, we could have probably done a whole podcast altogether on us talking about that topic itself. Maybe one for another day, eh?
