I'm back with another terrific group of UVA Law students who will guide us through the latest research, legal debates, and current events surrounding markets that make us uncomfortable.
This season, we'll explore where the boundaries of the marketplace come from,
why they change,
and whether some trades we consider taboo should be accepted.
In theory, we'll also consider whether some trades we currently accept should become taboo.
But you know us,
we have a fascinating lineup of guests and topics that I know you'll enjoy.
So now I'll turn things over to the real stars of the show, the Taboo Trade student host for season seven.
Speaker B: Hi, my name is Mia Armstrong. I'm a 3L at UVA Law and I'm interested and excited to learn about the law law and how it interacts with markets that we don't always want to talk about or acknowledge.

I'm Sahanya vakhtaram and I'm a 2L here at Uva Law.
I'm really excited for this class. I remember being in fall semester 1L and my contracts professor recommending it. So I've had it on my list forever. And I'm really excited to be here and get to discuss taboo traits.
Speaker D: Hi, my name is Tyler Donovan. I'm a 2L. I'm very excited to be in this class and hear what all of us here have to say about various topics, as well as learn from some really amazing guests.
Hi, I'm Katherine garmer. I am A3L here at Uva Law and I'm very excited to get to delve into topics that our society typically doesn't put at the forefront of discussions and that we don't typically see discussed in the mainstream media and get to understand a little bit more about the market mechanisms and legal regimes behind them.

This class was recommended to me by my antitrust professor in Office Hours last year, Professor Fishman. And so I'm very excited that I get to actually take it now.
Speaker A: Hello, my name is Bin SEO angelica Kim. I'm a 2L. I'm particularly excited exploring the history of Taboo in law, especially as a reflection of the moral underpinnings of society.
Speaker D: Hi, I'm Virginia pillion. I'm a 2L. I'm really excited this semester to get to talk about these topics with such a diverse and intelligent group of people who have so many different perspectives and learn from all of them.
Speaker E: Hi,
my name's Jake Ross. I'm A2L here at UVA Law.
I consider myself kind of an economics nerd. So I've been really interested in a long time and kind of like what can and can't be bought. So I'm really excited to dive into that this semester.
Speaker B: Hi, my name is linnea celendi. I'm A2L here at UVA,
and I actually got this class recommended to me by my peer on my journal and spoke very highly about it. And I'm really excited to learn more about important aspects of the law that are often put sort of in the background or discussed as if they're in the outskirts of society.
Speaker E: And my name is Damon Stefankowicz. I'm a 2L here at the University of Virginia School of Law.
And I'm really excited to learn about the economics underlying these things we should or shouldn't buy and maybe the rationales for why.
So I'm very excited to learn about those.
