We are officially rolling. So we've got, isn't this fun? Huh. one second. um We are going live. Should I restart it? Like it's live on Instagram and every, not Instagram, YouTube. em So anybody could hop in right now if they wanted. could hop in on YouTube and see us. We didn't announce it or anything, but it's live on YouTube and our Twitch. is the, the, is the screen, is the video working this time? Cause we did it. work this the video will work this time the last time it didn't work with this one would work. So. Oh man, I wish I was wearing my cute Santa outfit. I know we didn't get dressed up for this one last time we had it all dressed up at the lights going already. It wasn't the video wasn't working. I We did this live at him where we were like actually like playing songs live and everything and then after we got done Mike texted me he goes. shit. I didn't turn the we didn't turn the video on so whole time we just added on No, hey, are you Mike are you getting Doug lagging too or is that just me? It is lagging a little bit on Dug's end, um But I'm getting you, Doug. I get you. I get you. Thank you guys. Well, I can go try to turn off, is it really bad? Should I go turn off my internet? Or should I go change my internet? no, I think you're good for now. Right now it's coming through okay. I think we just go for it. Well, first of all, we've got a familiar face. Should we introduce Adam? Hello, Adam. Adam was on a podcast earlier this year with us and it was one of our most listened to and most popular ones of the year. we thought as we wrap up 2025, we better bring back the heavy hitters. So welcome Adam, we're glad you're here. Thanks, thanks. It's nice of you to say that that was one of your big episodes, but I assume that that's because of my racist rants that people really connect with. Yeah, man, a big portion of our listening audience is pretty super mega. Yeah, that seems like it. And, but really, Adam, I just really like, we were talking about this when we were in, uh, that weekend, when we spent in park city, but I just really, um, admire your taste in things, music, TV shows, whatever art. You're like an art connoisseur and like a. Yeah. Samoyed of art. And, and so, yeah. So I'm like, I want, I'm just decided to do this top 10 list with you, you know, Yeah, I'm excited to do it too. And that's, mean, that's, I've never been complimented on that before, but thank you. I like my taste. I like Justin Bieber. Same, dude. Hey, before we start our, yeah, before we start our best, like our top 10, can I ask you guys about something that would be on my bottom 10 real quick? Yeah. Have you guys seen the Christmas movie Red One starring Dwayne The Rock Johnson and Chris Evans? No, but I know what you're talking about. remember that came out like last year, didn't it? I think. Yeah. So my wife had a coworker recommend it to her. And so she was like, yeah, let's watch it. Said it was funny. So we were like, all right, let's do it. It is not funny and it is not good. So first of all, the main premise is that the way Santa Claus is able to perform all of his magical feats. of like getting from house to house in one night is because he's super physically fit. That's like the main premise. So Santa runs from house to house? Is this... Yeah, he's like rappelling into the houses and has a magic thing that makes him become small and then big again, kind of like Ant-Man. And he's just super strong and ripped in his J.K. Simmons. That's a major plot point of the whole movie. my gosh. Anyway, reminding me of all the Santa Claus movies throughout the years, and like, uh, remember guys remember the, like, the, wasn't there. Yeah, there was that one. And then there was like the Santa Claus movie. This one came out in like the eighties and Moore? Maybe it was that what was with that they had to do the super duper looper in order to save Christmas for that. Yeah, I do remember that. Adam, do you remember that? We used to watch that movie every year. The super duper looper? Yeah. It's the only way you could save Christmas and you had to do that with this reindeer. Do um you guys uh have movies that you watch every single year that your kids are into and all that stuff? Or are you kind of just like not a Christmas movie guy? We watch a couple every year. We watch It's a Wonderful Life and uh National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation and Elf. Those are the three we watch every year. do you okay I like it's a wonderful what no what's going can you see me oh sorry I got a my screen shut down and I got a notice like I have to update my McCaffey software or something so it's a wonderful life I love but I hate Jimmy Stewart man like he has the widest voice in that entire Shit ever like that's it's that's the confusing thing to me is how that movie ever got huge with him being the star dude, I don't stand for, know, uh, it's a wonderful life shade in this. No, I can't, I can't, I can't go there. I can't go there. uh hogwash. That's what Mr. Potter says to George. Sentimental hogwash when he's trying to make sure that people get money. Hey, am I? money, Why, it's down at Jim's house. And Doris, I don't have your money either. You used that $10? He's just like... Why Doris, built a dog house for you a year ago, remember that? You Hey, am I too echoey? Sorry to bring this up in the middle of a conversation. I'm in an echoey room. or click your, see your little thing that says echo cancellation, turn it on. on. It's on. You're good. I don't hear echo in my end. All right. Mine comes automatically off for some reason. So I always have to turn it on every week. Every week as if we've recorded an episode every week this whole year. We've done a little bit better lately, but still it's like every other week, isn't it? that's true. But I'm glad we're doing this one. mean, this is one of my favorite, the last year, this was like one of my favorite ones. I'm glad we're doing it again. And I don't know. It's fun. I mean, everyone loves making lists. I love making lists. And it's fun to, yeah. So should we just get into it? So we've got 10 things. We're going to go from 10 to one. If one of us has a similar thing on our list, let's just say it. So if I say something at 10 and Adam, it's your third, just say, oh, I have this one at three. And then we'll just talk about it at the same time. works for me. So I can go first here. So I'm cheating on this one a little bit. Like I said, was going to do a couple of ones I was going to cheat on. But this one, feel like, I feel like they're similar. So we already talked about Wake Up Dead Man on the podcast a little bit, the new Knives Out movie. So this year we got a new Knives Out movie and we had a new White Lotus season. And they're both the third installment. And I just love both of these franchises. I get excited for both of them. They both have kind of like a mystery element, like a who done it or who's gonna die kind of thing going on. And the premise of both of them is just kind of like, let's just get actors, put them in a scenario and let them have the time of their lives. And it's gonna translate into good TV or movies. And it feels like when I'm watching both of them, that it's like, I'm just watching people have... a good time on screen and it comes through. so I just, mean, I don't know if they're necessarily my favorite movies of the year, but like, just get excited when a new installment of these things come out. So I'm just put them together at my number 10. Dude, I did love that new Knives Out movie. um Cause you're right, all it is is people just like chewing up every scene. By the way, have a chat. We have a question in the chat that says, we have long journeys that says, why does everyone have beards? Do you guys want to try to fucking explain yourselves? Why do you have beards? I'll speak for myself, but you guys have to answer your own questions. Well, I have a beard because I have a real bad disfigurement on my cheek. So whoever asked that question, fuck you. I do it to cover it. I'm just kidding. I do it because it's trendy, I think. And I'm afraid to shave it at this point because I've had it for so long, but I think I would look like I think my chin would probably go straight into my neck. I think I'd look like the vulture from Looney Tunes. So that's why I don't shave my beard. I've just got it. I've thought about shaving it a couple times, but anytime I trim it really short, I look so weird. feel like I look... Yeah, I feel like I have no chin anymore. I've just gotten so used to having it. Well, I've got a, sorry, I was gonna say, I like to go with a mustache on occasion. So I'll trim it down to a mustache, but the beard is where I really get to hide myself behind some kind of like facial hair mask, you know? Yeah. Yeah. mean, I, I, I originally grew one when I was leaving the church and have had it ever since I shaved it off one time and my wife came home and saw me and said, no, grow your beard back. So I guess I've had a beard for 13 or 14 years now. Well, it looks good on you. I've been meaning to tell you that for the past 13 years. I like it. like where I can get my silver coming through in these little these little streaks right here, you know. I can't grow a very cool one. grow like a little spot. I mean, if I try and go beyond this and I try and grow it long, then it looks like little long strands, you know? Looks like I've got pubic hairs growing out of my chin. feel like mine kind of looks like that a little bit, doesn't it? No, you look good. Little pubie. be honest, Mike, haven't seen the new Knives Out movie this year. I've been saving. I mean, I think it's up there with the other ones. It plus has a lot to do with like faith and religion and it, you know, there's like a MAGA kind of element of feigned, uh, religiosity and then, but versus spirituality. don't know. It was, I thought it was a good one. And the main character, uh Adam, is a young Catholic priest and he is, I don't know who that actor is, but he is phenomenal in that movie. It's so good. really? Yeah, I'll have to check it out. Netflix for free. Well, if you have Netflix. So, okay. All right, Adam, you want to give your number 10 or whatever you wrote down? I'm gonna start my number 10 because maybe I'm doing this the wrong way, but You know I'm supposed to talk about things I've learned or different specific things or whatever just anything goes but Let me tell you my number 10 my number 10 is kind of a gripe It's kind of like Festivus and I'm gonna air a grievance right now the number 10 thing that I've learned I started noticing it this year and I read about it like a couple weeks ago that it's true is the dumbing down of TV to cater to the second screen audience. That's bothering me because I feel like I'm trying to watch shows lately and I'm not a big like stay on my phone while I watch a show guy. I put it down and trying to get into the show and the last year I've been noticing these redundancies in shows. It's like there's a huge recap and then there's a narrator that has to explain everything and then it's like they have to lay things out. very clearly and then the next show will kind of go back over that same stuff. And I'm like, why are we doing this again? So I had a suspicion. I'm like, maybe we're dumbing things down. And I started Googling around and looking into it. And sure enough, there's a new push right now from TV studios, streaming ones especially, to cater to the second screen audience. And I noticed that this year. So I think TV is getting dumber and starting in 2025. It's like it's like the characters are always giving exposition right they're like they're like catching the audience up on okay. Here's what just happened as part of my be like the weirdest times. It'll be like, I'm trying to think of a show, you like you'll watch a show and somebody will come in and it's like a guy talking to his wife or something and he'll come in and he'll be like, hey, do remember that scheme that we're involved in where I took all that money 10 years ago and then I had to hide it for a few years? You remember that? I don't know. my... Grievance of 2025 is that I felt like I was watching TV get dumber for a dumber audience. So there you go. And Long Journeys agrees with me. He says they're using AI to write now. So that's probably it too. I think AI is dumb. It has that. this chat? Oh, I got it now. I got it up. I didn't know how to see it. I didn't know how it. All right, well, I'll give you my number number 10 thing of my best of 2025. I think both of you guys have watched this. It's the studio on Apple TV with Seth Rogen. I love that show. You have it on your list, dude. I I love the pace of that show. I love the the uh sort of like the it almost makes you feel bad for this guy and the way he has to like cater to the investors, cater to egos, kill certain ideas, uh go for cash grabs. This guy's super selfish and super greedy, but also wants to make art. And it makes you feel bad for a studio head. know what I mean? You're like, man, yeah, he does have a little bit of a tough go. I love that show. Well, and speaks to a little bit what you were talking about there, Adam, with like dumbing down TV shows. see that the like the struggle between art and commerce, right? And it's like, and he's he's swimming in it. And uh those last two episodes where you have Zoe Kravitz and Brian Cranston on mushrooms. So I think for Mormons on mushrooms, it's one of the best mushroom like trip. journeys I've ever seen on television to see them both just crushed that those last two episodes was just When he's in, I can't remember what he says, but when Bryan Cranston is in the Venetian and they're like chasing him around and he kind of like falls backward in the water, like just the things that he is saying is, I have a hard time believing he's not tripping on something. He's like so believable in that and it's hilarious. Well, and then I mean, what was it? Maybe the second or third episode where they did the, you know, it was the kind of the meta thing of it was called the one or or the one shot kind of thing. And the whole episode was filmed. They're trying to do a one shot thing, you know, in a movie or TV show. But they ended up that episode was also like a one or is that what they call it a winner? oh I don't know. They'd sell out of cool things in that. And I love the. too. I liked it too. Okay, so my number nine, this goes... uh out though. Sorry to cut you off, but that's, I get a little Seth Rogen burned out. Oh, is it because he. was in another one this year. Did you watch the other one he was in? didn't see it. I don't know what this other one he was in. what else? Apple TV one. think it was like one of those things where it's like one for you, one for me kind of thing. think a lot of studios are doing that where with these creative people, it's like, okay, make one for us. And I don't know if I think the studio might've been one for him and it actually was a more successful one. The other one. I forget what it's called. I don't know. I didn't see it. one with Keanu Reeves and Aziz Ansari that was like a, it was kind of like a, it's a wonderful life kind of vibe. Did you see that one? I can't remember what it was called. No, I didn't. maybe that's what it was. All right, Mike, what's your number nine? Okay. Well, I mean, last year I put the Dodgers World Series. It was way up there and I had to put the Dodgers repeat. It was so fun to be. It was uh one of the, it was probably my favorite baseball game ever. I mean, one, the series was just incredible, that World Series. But that last game, I was watching it at a bar and I've never had, I've never had more fun watching a baseball game in my whole life. And, and it was fun because it was like, You know, I've never been in a city where I've been cheering for the team who ends up winning like a major championship. And last year was fun. So I went out there and everyone's partying and, and this year just kind of, it's almost like, all right, soak it up. And so I was even like able to soak it in even more this year, even though it feels a little greedy to win two years in a row, you know, when the entire city of Toronto is like on suicide watch that night, but it was so, it was still fun. I'm going to jump in because I had Chohe Otani on my list of my favorite things of the year. Yeah, dude. And it was, the guy is just so cool, man. Like he walks up to the batter's box before every game and he like bows to the opposing coach and he checks in with the umpire. He's just like such a cool guy. You know what I mean? Like I kind of found myself like fangirling after him and being like kind of giddy about, you know what I mean? Like he's just dreamy, dude. He's so cool. And then he does the, he's the Most clutch player ever. It's just incredible to watch the guy is so cool to me. He's on the Mount Rushmore of cool He's already on the Mount Rushmore of baseball, if you ask me. I don't know who else is on that, but I'll tell you, he's on the Mount Rushmore of cool. So far, it's Brad Pitt and Shohei Otani. Oh, Rich has got to on there. Dude, for sure. What about Barack Obama on there? Maybe. he's just cool, huh? He's a cool guy. Barack Obama as on my Mount Rushmore of Cool. I think that's a pretty good Mount Rushmore of Cool actually. Shohei Otani, Brad Pitt, Prince, and Obama. That's a pretty fucking good list right there. Holy cow. Alright Adam, what's your next one? Oh, okay, so uh kind of staying in the TV theme, I did a re-watch of The Sopranos this year. I still haven't watched that. dude let me tell you I didn't appreciate I had last maybe watched it like 10 years ago so I was like I'm gonna do a rewatch of the Sopranos this year it blew everything away that I was watching it's just such it's so good man and let me tell you this this little nugget that I took from it that I wrote down and this has been I've been applying this this year so there's a scene where Tony Soprano and his wife Carmela are thinking about buying a beach house He wants to do it, she's kind of hesitant about it, but then she comes around and is like, yeah, I think we should do it. And he's kind of hammering and hawing. And she says to him, you lose more by indecision than you ever do with the wrong decision. Yeah, so I've been like incorporating that this year like be more decisive because you lose more from indecision than you could ever lose with the wrong decision You know what that reminds me, Doug? That reminds me of early on in the podcast, we did that workshop with Chrissy Firemane, who was the guest a couple of times. And that was one of the things they taught in that workshop was just like, look, make a decision, like the energy you spend in indecision. this is yeah, this is just reminding me of that. And I think it's good advice. it was good. And then, yeah. it's, it's sorry, I don't, I know I'm lagging a little bit. Sorry. No, I think it was just you. indecision, the indecision thing is true for like big things, like for huge things like buying a beach house if you're a mob don. But also just for like think about the frustration that comes from like trying to like the most cliche thing ever, which is trying to decide where to eat with a group of people. Think about like the heightened levels of like. God, nobody wants to step on toes and suggest something that nobody else wants or nobody wants to seem like they're trying to force anybody into eating, you know, chicken wings or whatever. But everyone just gets more and more a little bit like everyone gets a little bit more and more frustrated. And then no decision is the good decision because everybody like everybody like settles on a thing that nobody really wanted, but was safe. Do you know what I mean? It's like even the littlest things. the biggest, the bigger uh distraction in that kind of situation comes from everybody worrying about making the wrong decision when it's the indecision. If somebody were to just step in and say, we're going to, we're going to go to Big Bill's Burger Barn, you know, then everybody's like, okay, that's what we're doing. I we're going to Big Bill's Burger Bar. You know, it's like, you kind of forget about what's right or wrong. Somebody just made the decision. So anyway, that's been a big thing for me this year is like decisiveness saves you a lot of time and effort. And that comes from the sopranos. Plus, plus that's the opposite of your last one, which is like the Sopranos has so much subtlety and and and nuance and like reading between the lines. Right. Like not only is it well written TV, but also it uses kind of like that that mafia kind of code speak that you have to kind of like pick up on. And there's so many storylines that you can have to remember everything what's going on. And they don't just they don't just ham fist. They don't just ham fist the plot to you. You have to kind of like, even the ending is like, open to interpretation as to what really happens. So it's like the opposite of your first one. Yeah, no, exactly. All right, that's my next one. Doug, you go ahead. You guys ready for my number nine? My my labor of love for 2025 was finishing the Mark Twain biography. And like. I have to tell you that I I've talked about it on the podcast where it was quite a slog to get through it because it's just so fucking long. But I did get through it and I really loved it. And I I feel like I know more about Mark Twain than I've ever wanted to know about any human being. in whole world, you know? Like, I know more about Mark Twain than I know about my own wife. Like, I don't know what she's up to. I don't know what her secret, like, life is going on. I don't know what her hopes and dreams are. I know everything about Mark Twain's hopes and dreams. I know everything he was up to. I know that guy backwards and forefront. Anyway, so was my number nine on my list. you, you told me you were reading that, recommended it to me and I started it. And it was like one of those things where I started it, probably got like 200 pages into it. And you know do that thing when you're reading a book where you kind of look to see where you're at and what's left. Dude, I'm telling you, that's like a 2,000 page book, dude. I hadn't even read a typing amount yet. It's so long. you, did you listen to it on Audible, Doug? Or did you? listened to it on audible and it 44 hours long. Oh Jesus. Uh, have to admit, I mean, you've talked about it several times on the podcast and it sounds like fast. I'd what it did for you. I still think I'm going to read it. Godspeed to you if you want to read it. I recommended it to Adam when I was not even halfway done. it was one of those things that I regretted uh recommending. So I'm like, shit, nobody's going to read this thing. It's too long. You Yeah, no, it's, mean, hey, what I read was good, but I'm not even into like him being born quite yet. You're still learning about the circumstances through which he was born. You're still in the 116 pages plates of Lehi, bro. You haven't even gotten to Nephi being born yet. uh I'm still learning about the rules of riverboat captaining. Like just randomly throw them in the middle. Here's the question. did his, you know, his famous book of Mormon quote about the book of Mormon, about it being chloroform and plant print or whatever, did that ever make it to the biography? Did he talk or, it did. Okay. didn't. Yeah. yeah. It talks about him having a couple of run ins with the with the Mormons when he was traveling out west and he read the Book of Mormon and he was just like, dude, this guy is this this Joseph Smith guy is up to something no good. You know, so it talks about it. uh Long Journey says, I think you can skip boring parts of books and still claim to have read the uh The problem is how do you know what are the boring parts when you're just listening to it on the on the audio thing? It's just like maybe I just maybe I should put this at two times speed and just I get the gist of it. You know, that's like that. if you're reading, that's one of things about reading like a physical book, sometimes you're like, okay, this chapter I can like, you know, you just kind of eye the chapters and skim read, right? But you can't really do that when you're listening to the audio. I don't know, I don't need this chapter about the history of, of type setting press and how it like that works and how Mark Twain tried to like scam the system about it. All right. So this year for me, you I went to a lot of concerts again this year and it's hard to pick my favorite concert. mean, Doug, we went to like our first concert together and we had the time of our life with seeing Darius Rucker. So good. But I put because one that really surprised me and it just popped up for me. I put 21 Pilots because I these guys haven't been on my radar in 10 years. I think I listened to like two of their their first couple albums back in 2010 and you know, I liked him. I was a fan, but then I kind of forgot about him. And then a few months ago, a coworker just kind of sent out this email like, hey, they're doing a special radio show in like a small venue here in LA and I've got a ticket if you want it. I'm like, yeah, how much? He's like, it's free. I'm like, okay, yeah, I definitely want the ticket. And I show up and Um, you know, they were, they were playing two stadium shows that weekend in LA with like, you know, the soccer stadium, which holds like 30, 40,000 people. And that we were in a venue that maybe had a thousand or 1500. And it just, to me, it was, they brought the energy of that stadium show into that little venue. And it just showed me just how much performance and energy and the way they manage the energy of the crowd. It's so much more than just like. the music and is the music good. It's how they are out there just performing and they just, was, it was an incredible experience. And it was probably like my favorite concert experience there. used to, I listened to them a lot back, you know, in the day. I haven't listened to them since, but yeah, I can see how they'd be. didn't play any of old stuff. I guess it was, so in order to get in the venue, unless someone gives you a ticket, I think you had to win it, the ticket through the radio station here. Yeah. How else would you do it? oh And so it was filled with, mean, I think a lot of like really diehard fans were there and so they could do no wrong, but like the way they just, they were just masters of the craft. was just, it was awesome. You know, uh side note to how you started this, the first concert I ever went to with Doug was Darius Rucker. When I was in high school, Holy shit. Yeah. and the blowfish back in the 90s. I was, were you a junior in high school? And so that meant I would have been an eighth grader, maybe seventh or eighth grader. But yeah, we went through a Hootie and the Blowfish concert at the height of their popularity, man. uh blowfish? we all think we were dugs first, but we're not. Dugs, santa. Yeah. who's your first? Voice to Men was my first concert. You true. Mine was the Beach Boys in Park City. yeah, we went to that together as well. It was for your birthday, I think. Yeah, dude, that was a great. Did you go with me to my first concert? Did you go with me to the Smash Mouth thing in the metal ceremony in? Yeah, I didn't go to a concert. I didn't go to a concert in high school. So my first concert was when I got back from my mission and we went to that metal. It was for the Winter Olympics and it was a metal ceremony slash concert and it was Smash Mouth. Me and your brother. That was also the three of us, or however many, I don't remember who else, if the other guy was there that we hung out with, but uh we went to the mall in Salt Lake City, the three of us, you and me your brother, and went to Abercrombie to go shopping. And like the manager pulled us aside and was like, hey, we're really busy for the Olympics. Would you guys like to come? be models for it. Like, I guess that's they call their staff is models. And we're like, no, think you're all right. We're going to smash mouth. Leave us alone. He just really liked your frosted tips. That's what it was. That Puka Shell necklace was going hard, you know. Yeah, now I've moved on to a douchebag chain. That chain is awesome. Um, okay. Uh, so I did a lot of traveling this year, more than I've ever done in my life, like in a, in a cons, you know, consecutive year. And so I'm going have a lot of things from different places. And I forewarn everybody, I don't mean to sound like a douche bag because to me, it's a big deal. I've been able to travel this year. It's not me being the Instagram or like catch flights, not feelings. I'm not that I'm just like things have worked out. I've got to go to some cool places this year and it's had an impact on me. em I went to the Pride Parade in Amsterdam where they did the parade going through the canals and it was incredible. And it was incredible because it was not what I expected it to be. I was going in thinking it's Amsterdam, it's kind of the Vegas of Europe or something. It's going to be, you know, wild and it's going to be sex everywhere. it's, you know, I was like, it's going to be crazy. And it wasn't that, it was like a family event. know, people are bringing their kids out. There wasn't like dildos swinging from the ceiling and like, was like a colorful event and people were in costumes and loud music and dancing, but it never felt like, um they did it in a way that felt very like inclusive of all, you know, and I know that's a weird thing to say, but families were there and. Businesses were chipping. It was just it was a fun event that wasn't like I expected it to me I was I was expecting to go in and like if you go to a pride parade here, you know, especially in certain areas It's gonna be protesters on one side and the parade on the other it was just the whole City was unified around this in a very fun like wholesome Cool event. It was it was really fun. I had a blast with that And that when you're describing that to me, I that it sounded just like like a watershed moment, you know, just like an experience like like the experience. I also have to tell you, Adam, that one of the things I like to do is I like to tie dildos to my ceiling fan so that dildos are swinging from the ceiling. And then I turn the I turn the fan on and then I just try to dodge those dildos like like I'm training for like a boxing match. Well, it's, you know, it's how we grew up. It's how our grandparents used to do it when we'd go over for holidays. Tildo swinging from the ceiling, baby! That's just way it goes. I'm swinging from a ceiling. But I mean, it was just cool. was a cool experience because I guess it wasn't what I expected it to be. was more than I expected it to be. It was different than I expected. It was just very cool. And it was cool to see how it works in a different culture that's more accepting of different lifestyles. And it was just it was fun to be a part of that. soon. Amsterdam's such a city. Alright, Doug. too, yeah. All right, my number seven. Well, but if it makes you feel better Doug, when I went I was still Mormon. Oh man. So my number seven, Mike, you joined me for, we got to spend a few days this year in studios, like recording our music. And that was just a life, that was just like a life goal, kind of changing like event. It's uncomfortable, it's super rewarding when you get to hear the product. It's also real, super challenging and you feel like you're really on like a schedule and people are just like listening very closely to the way you play your music and the way you sing and your lyrics. You have to like stay on and it's super, I mean, like I said, it feels sweaty the whole time, but then it's like also this creative cooker where you get to like really explore and collaborate with, you know, like a producer, with other people just to make music come to life. And that was like a really amazing experience for me this year. Yeah, Doug, actually have it my number three. I was going to even put it maybe number one, but we haven't released any of them yet. So was kind of like, well, I can't just, you know, but, uh, but I put it up there because it was such like, I, I, I, I, I felt like I was in my element there, even though it was hard. And it's so weird that first time playing it. then, you know, when you came out here for a weekend, we did it. And then I've had to go several times with Evan to kind of keep recording and cleaning things up. And I can't wait every time we're going to go to the studio to record music. I'm like, I just can't wait. And I hope we get to do it more this year too. we got to get these songs out there. Yeah. yeah, so that was on my two duck and I loved it. Um, and Adam, I have another, I have a travel one of my seven too. So I went to Portugal for the first time. Yeah. First time. Yeah. How do you say it? Yeah. Yeah. That's how they say it. And they, it was my, it was my first time traveling like alone, really, uh, on like a trip alone. And, uh, just had the time of my life, but like, I learned about Fado music, which is their music of like longing. It's like their ancestral music that they do out there. And several nights I just found myself just camping out in a Fado tavern, making friends from like, you know, meeting like, uh, this lesbian German couple, these other people, it would just like cycle through and, know, just tuned up drunk and listening to like this beautiful. like music of longing. was like the perfect music to go out there like when you're feeling heartbreak and then they're just singing heartbreak in this tavern. And it just felt like I was back in like medieval times, just drinking wine and meeting people from all over the, you know, Europe. And I just love Europe. I mean, it was the middle of the week. I know it was like a touristy city in Lisbon. And so a lot of tourists were out there, but it's Wednesday. morning and we're out there till 5am drinking and just like meeting people on the streets. It's just an incredible experience and yeah. sound amazing. Well, plus you got to experience like a wedding, like you're there for a wedding, right? So just got to get like cultural, yeah, like cool stuff. gotta get matching tattoos with a woman on a 3AM one. uh um Okay, so uh What number am I on? Six? Six, five, six. So probably one of the dorkiest things about me is I am one of the biggest fans of the Tron franchise. And I have been since I saw the very first one, you know what mean? Like I love the music. I love the colors, the neon lights. I love the characters, the stupid storylines. And so it was a big deal for me that the Neutron movie came out this year. And yeah, I loved it. I've gotten like, my kids are big into it with me. they begged to go see it with me. It's like... how most people feel about like maybe a Marvel movie coming out or like so I love Tron I go nuts for Tron so that was a big deal for me. As you're talking about I see your face like lighting up like a little schoolboy right? It's so good. Yeah. Well, have you guys ever seen them, any of the Tron movies? I grew up with the mean, I love the original and I guess I just didn't get into too much of like the newer ones, but maybe I didn't see the recent one. So in the, there's only three of them. The second one, like Daft Punk does the entire soundtrack. And so it's almost like you're watching a Daft Punk visual kind of like concert or something. It's like a music video, but there's a movie to it and stuff. And then the newest one, Nine Inch Nails did the soundtrack and Trent Reznor. And it's just like, my God, dude, it's so cool. It's like watching this mix of electronic music and... guys writing light cycles and stuff. I can't get enough of it. Like if I could insert myself into a movie, it would be Tron. That's so good. It's the new one. The new one's good. You love the new one? Yeah, I mean, they're not good movies. It's not like the storyline's good. Am I here? I'm getting kind of checked on my internet connection. a lag and first thing I thought you were like muted, but it's working. Yeah. So anyway, yeah, like, it's not good storytelling. It's not good anything. It's just good visuals and good music and it like the kind of music you can feel in your chest when you're watching it and stuff. So yeah, I loved it. I mean, Jared Leto's in it. He's never, he's never fucking good, but yeah. Alright, my number seven is also a movie and specifically a scene from a movie, which is the history of music scene in Sinners. I love that movie and I love that scene where they went through like the history and evolution of music. God damn, dude. Yeah. Did that scene when it like, know we did a whole episode on sinners and I have actually had it at number two. Um. sorry man. Why? do mean? Sorry. is good. It was just I just when the two of the scenes, one of the scenes when he's playing the music and it's bridging the times and everyone's doing, you know, it's it's and then the guy comes out there busting out the electric guitar from the future. And then the scene where the vampires are out there singing the Irish song, just like. Yeah, dude, that's crazy. Okay, so I haven't seen it. damn. No. I think you'll like it. I think you should see it. now that it's on your top tens, both, I should see it. Yeah, I mean, it's been one of my favorite movies in the last few years that I've seen. Okay, I'll check it out. All right, it, anything, yeah, okay, we'll just go in. Yeah. it's the main thing as long as we're being honest with each other. The thing that's kept me from seeing it is it's like the two guys playing twins or the same guy playing two characters. Does that not get distracting or kind of annoying? No, it's Michael B. Jordan, man. Can't get annoying. He I think he's it's the basketball player, right? Yeah, it's Michael Jordan from the Chicago Bulls playing two characters. One of them always wears red and the other one always wears blue. And it's symbolic of the Bloods and the Crips. That's why they did it that way, is because they're like, this is going to tell the story of like the struggle of music in the past, present and future. So yeah, Sinners takes a while to build up, but the payoff is worth it. uh I'm loving long journeys. I'm so glad he's here for this long journey we're going on too. Yeah, thank you, Long Journeys. He or she, we don't know where you or anything in between. We love you. Um, so the next on my list, uh, last year, Doug, you know how I had like, it was my diva era and I was talking about like all the, like going through a heartbreak and listening to Dua Lipa and Olivia Rodrigo and that Brazilian woman, Mariana Froez and stuff. Well, I got another one this year to add to the list and that's the Olivia Dean. I just cannot get enough of Olivia, Olivia Dean lately. I think she's adorable and she's like the energy that the world needs right now and I'm just soaking her up lately. So I had to add her to my list. Yeah, I can get down with some Olivia Dean, bro. she the one on Saturday Night Live, maybe? A few... she was on, she was on that live a few weeks ago. Yeah. I mean, just her vibe. mean, no. and dancing like that. yeah. It's like, it's not like, I mean, she's got it. She's got a tremendous voice, but it's not like the greatest voice and she's not like the, but the way she just brings like this energy of like, we're just going to have fun and groove and it's just contagious. It's this lovely little cute, adorable, vibey energy. And I obviously have a big crush on her. So she made my list. Yeah, really so. Bet she did, bud. Yeah. Okay, I'm going I'm doing another travel one and I'll do something normal next but I Also went to it was on the same trip that I did going to Amsterdam We then went to Italy and in Italy went to the Vatican and did all that Which was I mean, that's super interesting, you know But going to the Sistine Chapel was as cool as I could have anticipated You know what mean? Just like the the beauty of The artwork in there is unbelievable. And we had this cool tour guide who was like a Russian lady doing this tour for us in the Vatican, which was kind of funny in itself. But she was telling us like when Michelangelo did the ceiling, he painted that, you know, there's the famous picture of God and Adam. It probably has a name, Touching Fingers. Does that have a name? Creation of man, I think. creation of man. Yeah. So if you look at that picture, there's Adam and he's reaching up to God. And if you look at God, and I had never seen this before, he looks like he's in a brain. Like the area he's in is shaped like a brain. And if you haven't seen it, look it up. It looks like he's in a brain that's been cut in half and he's in there and he's reaching out to touch Adam. And so there's I there was speculation, you I'd never heard it before, but there was speculation that when Michelangelo was doing this, he wasn't really a believer. He'd been driven so hard that he had to paint his, he didn't even want to do it after a certain time because he'd been pushed so hard. And so there's speculation. Did he believe in God? Did he think it was, you know, God lives in your mind or it's uh figment of your imagination kind of a thing, but there's a lot to be interpreted. I'd never even seen that before. And then there's Another picture in the chapel where he depicts himself as being a man that's been skinned. All you see is his hollow skin. And it kind of ties in that this thing just drained him of his soul to do this because the church ordered him to do it. And so it was cool like to see it, the artwork of it, and then to hear kind of these backstories of it I'd never heard about. But anyway, long story short, pull up that picture, the creation of Adam, if you haven't, and look at God in that picture specifically. pretty unmistakable once you see it. Dude, I'm so glad you said the Sistine Chapel because you're right. I can't name a thing that has bigger expectations than the Sistine Chapel, right? There's not a thing out there that has more buildup. And you go in there and you are still awestruck by it. It lives up to its reputation and more somehow. Meanwhile, everybody wants... Everybody wants you to go visit Mormon temple before they open and come look at our Mormon temple. And it's like, dude, the celestial room of a temple looks no different than the waiting room for baptisms for the dead. Like there's no different aesthetic and it looks no different. No, exactly. mean, it's just like the character in there. know, mean, everything's so unique and you go into a temple and it's all the same. It's just the same thing. It's very cool to see the artwork incorporated into that and then know that there is meaning behind how they did it. Well, and I assume you also didn't go to the Rome temple in Rome. They built like 10 years ago or whatever, then they built like a temple in Rome. actually got baptized on behalf of Michelangelo. Did you? Okay. Oh, so he's Mormon now. Okay, good. I was waiting for that one to happen. Okay, good. He's doing a lot of good Mormon work in heaven. He visited Adam in a dream and begged for Adam to do his work because he couldn't progress until Adam did his work. So basically, the Sistine Chapel is just another win for the Mormons. That's exactly, now we get to claim it. gotta claim it. oh man, that's pretty funny. All right, my number six is very simple. uh We even dedicated a whole episode to him. Aussie Bear, the dog that I adopted this year has brought me. my gosh, I'm so glad he made the list. He has brought me to life, man. He's brought me out of kind of a depressive slump. And he just brought like presence and just joy to my life. So he had to make the list. I love that dog. I love Aussie Bear. I love that dog. and he saved you from that snake, man. Yeah, he saved me from that snake. He's so other stories about him. He's such a good dog though. was up there Doug visiting soon after you got him and I instantly fell in love with that dog too. He's one of the most lovable dogs you've ever met from jump. He's the lovable dog. instantly, right? He's instantly happy to be around. Hey, have you guys ever seen a dog breed called a duck toller? Ducktolar that's gonna be my next dog. I'd never stumbled on it and it's gonna be my next dog. It's dude it looks kind of like a like a like a Australian Shepherd mixed with a golden retriever kind of Okay, yeah, there's no, there's no. Doug? I'm trying to. Ducktoler. Yeah, look at that guy. I mean Doug screams kind of blurry but yeah that's gorgeous. What is that a new type of breed or has they been around for a while? I've been around for a long time, guess, ever since you started tolling ducks. I feel like I switched timelines. This is a new breed that I'm not like... Alright, my number five was the studio, so go ahead Adam. that's so good. man. Okay, so my number five uh was my mother had a pretty drastic surgery this year, heart surgery. uh it was, think the first time, know, my parents are older, like they're not, you know, significantly old, they're older. And it was the first time I think that I've had to face any sort of mortality with my parents. And it was hard to see because, you know, like my mom was depleted from this heart surgery that she had, this really intense heart surgery. Watching my dad kind of break down after it was really hard on me to experience. so, I don't know, was kind of, Doug was there with me and I felt maybe, and I haven't even asked him about this to be honest, I felt there was like kind of an unspoken little bond that happened that was like, hey, like we got to... we're gonna be the ones taking care of these people, you know? And it was, I don't know, it's kind of a, it's interesting. It's like a watershed moment when you see your parents go through some mortality. Yeah, dude, that's funny that you mentioned that. That's exactly what I was feeling. It was like a different, it changed our relationship with them and it also bonded you and I even closer, I think. Yeah. Yeah, I think so. Yeah. that didn't make me. I feel like a bad son, but that didn't make my list. So feel like a total dipshit. Thanks for nothing, Adam. Like now I'm sitting here going that didn't even make my top 10. That didn't even make my honorable mentions. me tell you, let me tell you, I was going to tell you one year for Christmas, I specifically remember I got like this cool, like six disc stereo changer, like big speakers and everything and amazing present. I was like so over the moon about it. And then I was excited to see what Doug got that year. And he opened up like a Walmart electric guitar. and the Michael McLean uh whatever that fucking CD is that has the song homeless on it that's what Doug got for Christmas so I think I think I know my place in the world Dude, I used to like really rock out of the Forgotten Carols. to that one. I am a man forgotten. No one recalls my name. Thousands of years will fail to that innkeeper song. But I turn the profit. joke, It is unfair. That innkeeper gets more shit and hate in the world history than anyone possible. Like that innkeeper is like a... He's like a scorned, like... person in history. It's like, dude, what's he supposed to do? We're literally full. Like we don't have any vacancy. I'm sorry. I don't know that you're carrying the Christ child. I just know that you didn't make it a point, a reservation or whatever. And the song is reimagined through the lens of Mormon guilt where he's just like, thousands of years have failed to fully erase my shame. Like this guy, he's like, you had no room and you're in dude, you're fine, like, let it go, but. and even then, like, imagine if you were to go to a hotel now and they're like, hey, we are booked, no occupancy for the night. But you can go stay out here in the maintenance shed, I'll put a nice little bed in there for you. And you might have to, there may be some rats in there or something like, I think it is. Yeah, above and beyond. So. That's so funny. So my number five, I think is what we're up to is Tramiel Tillman as Mr. Milchek in Season two of Severance is the best is the single best acting performance I've ever seen in a television show by far like second only to like John Hamm as Don Draper or fucking Matthew McConaughey in season one of True Detective, Tramell Tillman is fucking incredible in Severance. So that's my number five. Unbelievable. I love Severance, season one and two. And I told you I rode an elevator with that guy in this. Did I tell you that? It's Terrell Tillman. Yeah. I didn't know that. He was like, I'm in the elevator. I'm just chatting him up and we're just chatting back and forth. And all of someone gets in the elevator and I'm mind you, I'm watching Severance as we speak. Like I'm in the middle of season two and I'm on the elevator and I just like chatting with this guy. And then all of a sudden someone walks in the elevator and they're looking around and all of sudden they're like, I just have to say, I'm such a big fan. And he's like, oh, thank you. Thank you. You know, kind of like, I was like, wait, should I know this guy? That's the most Mike story that could ever be told, by the way. I don't need screens. And then I said, and talk to another coworker. Cause I was like, they said his name Tramell. And I was like, okay. And I was like, okay, who's famous that names it Tramell. And they're like, Tramell from, from Severance. And I'm like, where is he? I'm like, they just got off the elevator and then they, But anyway, but such a good performance and such a, such a good, I just love that show. Such a good show. who is the most famous famous person you've ever met that you would say I think Mitt Romney, maybe. But in that same elevator I'm talking about, I also ran into Fred Savage. That was kind of a cool one. And the Fred Savage one, I didn't say a word to it, was just him and I. And I didn't know it was him and I had to run to the elevator, like, oh, catch the elevator. then, so it made it look like I really wanted to ride the elevator with Cause I get in like, oh my gosh, there's Fred Savage. just be glad you couldn't hear the Daniel Stern narration going on. And I just wrote, we wrote. Elevators were a rough time for me growing up. Until my brother Wayne showed up and one time got us stuck. And these weird guys just like, want to ride the elevator with me in silence from the ninth floor down to the... Dude, did you look at him at any point in the ride and be like, hey, Fred, show me that smile again. No, that's growing pain, sorry. the growing pains song. Hmm. Well, okay about this when you ask him to stop the elevator did you get on out of breath and be like, thanks Sometimes I just need a little help from my friends Ha You know, what could have been? Joe Cocker version instead of the Ringo Starr version, you know, what would you do if I said... You oh Okay, my next one's Sinner, so let's keep moving. Sinners. Well, okay, what do I got here? I'm gonna say this one. I hope this isn't, I'm gonna put you two on the spot for a second. You both have been through some things this year, health related to yourselves, people you love. You've both had some things that have been going on. And I've watched you both handle that with a lot of grace and a lot of courage and a lot of uh class and how you deal with it, you know? And I think, you know, as I would like to think that I'm one of both of your good friends and you know, there's not any times where you've had to, or you've called me to, you know, just bitch and complain and I know I've done that to both of you on different things and you've both gone through some serious stuff this year. And so I just wanna... uh give you both credit for how you've handled that. It's been a good uh example for me on how to handle some things. Thanks, man. That's, I don't know to respond to that. That means a lot, Well, it's only number four, so don't get too excited. No, I'll just add one thing to it real quick with that, Adam. That means a lot because I don't know, there's been a couple of times just the last couple of months where uh one night I'm like this, I've never felt so dark in a lot. Like there was just this feeling of like utter hopelessness, you know? um And I'm glad we had that weekend in um Park City. because I was able to kind of think back on that and like, um just what came out of that and like, I don't know, just, in those moments, picturing you and Doug there and like, ah get me through a couple of those nights, because it was dark, but yeah, so thank you. Well, thank you. mean, Park City's on this list very high up for me. So we'll probably hop into that later, I'm sure, for somebody. But no, anyway, so both of you, for anybody listening about these guys who talk a big game and preach things about mindfulness and presence and peace and all that, mean, you guys really did that. And I watched you both do it this year in a very impressive way. Thanks man. your money where your big mouths are. Ha! You duck was opening your mouth really big. Is that what you were doing? trying to show how big my mouth was. My number four is live Real Salt Lake games, baby. Come on, come on, live Real Salt Lake. dude. Yeah, yeah. That's all I got. My first ever like non- people who are more than double digits in age soccer game I ever went to. And so was really amazing. uh live soccer will hook you into being a soccer fan. It's probably my second favorite sport right now, just from going to live soccer. to it's same. love life soccer. When we talked about this earlier, I went to my first live soccer game last year, an LAFC one, and loved it. And then I started watching that TV show, Welcome to Wrexham, and so I've been getting into soccer lately. But I feel like with soccer, the more you know the surrounding story, the more intriguing the game is. I don't know. Anyway, after all this time, I thought going to Brazil for two years would convert me on soccer, but it didn't. Um, but I find in my forties, I'm finally coming around to soccer. Yeah, man, I love it. Same, same page. 40s, Mike. Grow up, Mike. For God's sake. You know No, so the my next one I'll show I'm not growing up because um I'm I'm flipping a couple of these because I think there's gonna be some on your list maybe coming up maybe but like I put and or up there so Oh yeah. and or. Andor is my favorite season two, and there's only two seasons of it. And it's been the best Star Wars thing since the first two Star Wars, hands down. It's been so good. And so I had to be high on my list. And it's very relevant. I mean, it's the rise of the Empire, so it's very relevant to fascism and the rise of fascism and how, you know, things, I don't know, very, very relevant to current events. And, um... It surprised me that the same studio can release so much shitty like Star Wars in the last few years, but then come out with this one. And it was just always meant to be a two season thing and they did it in two seasons. And Tony Gilroy is the guy, you know, running it and I just, I fucking loved it. So. Did you ever watch the Star Wars? Sorry, I think I lagged. Do you ever watch the, uh did you ever see the Star Wars Christmas uh special back in the olden days? Where they sing about life day and like, and then you have the ones the scene with the Wookiees are all doing their thing. And they have the Wookiee unk. so much Wookie in that movie. That wookie uncle is watching porn on his screen. on his VR headset in the middle of the living room. You And know what? It's actually better than a lot of the stuff that's come out, you know, and it's not the worst Star Wars thing. Okay, so what are we on number three is that what you just did great uh Okay, so back on the travel theme I went to this island this year called Jost van Dyck maybe Jost van Dyck. I don't know which is this cool island in the British Virgin Islands that my friends rented a place and invited me along and uh It's like a three square mile island with 300 people. And I think by the end of my trip, I was friends with 200 people on the island. You know what I mean? Like it was the most welcoming, fun place ever. And it was just like the most truly laid back. Everybody kind of hung out every night, very community oriented. Like we got invited to this little... private local barbecue that just was like in somebody's backyard. You know what I mean? It was just like the coolest experience that, yeah, it was just like fun. It was fun to meet people, you kind like you're talking about when you were in uh Portugal. It was just meeting people, letting them accept you into their culture, you being cool about not trying to be like too aggressively trying to, you know, just making friends with people by being yourself. had a blast. It was so much fun. and obviously like an ideal setting. It was very fun. So to keep up with my, you know. learned that from you two. Like, I feel like, you know, when I go out, I talk about it in Portugal, like, and, you know, when I go out just drinking here or whatever, like, I'm always just meeting friends. And I've learned that from Adam and Doug. Yeah, man, it's it. It just takes a smile and I'll be willing to talk to somebody, huh? It's like a good old time. And then you end up like Adam, like your friends with two thirds of an entire entire island, you know, it's just like. I love that. Yeah, I mean, the thing is, you know, it's just making friends is the same thing you did when you were in kindergarten to make a friend. Do you know what I mean? Like, it's so easy to overcomplicate it. And you just go up to somebody and you say, Hi, my name is Adam. Are you scared of snakes? You know what mean? And it's like, you'll have a best friend by the end of the day. You told Doug this story. Remember the pictures I've sent you guys a few nights ago where I like, so I was at like this reunion of sorts and you know, for the holidays and I'm tuned up and one of my friends gives me his jacket and it looks really cool. And I send you guys that picture. like, do I look cute? I'm wearing this like really snazzy jacket. But then I walk into this bar and there's this like Chinese guy wearing this Mickey Mouse bomber jacket. And I go up and I'm like, Dude, that's the coolest jacket I've ever seen. And he's like, no, yours is the coolest jacket I've ever seen. I'm like, wait, no, we just were complimenting each other's jackets. And I'm like, do you want to trade? He's like, he's like, you would trade jackets with me? I'm like, hell yeah, would. So we traded jackets. And look, when he put on that jacket, the one I was wearing, dude, it looks so good on this guy. And I have to say that the bomber jacket looked better on me. So like it was a win-win. Yeah. on you. Yeah, that was a good trade all around, dude. I love that. All right, boys. You ready for my number three? I don't know if you guys have seen it yet, but one battle after another is just incredible. I think it's going to win every Oscar possible. And as my number three thing I've seen this year, it's it's a little hard to follow going to Yost Van Dyke Island and making a bunch of like lifetime friends. And then I'm just like, this Leonardo DiCaprio movie is really good. No, dude, I'm laughing because I'm so torn on that movie. Like, I love Leonardo DiCaprio. I love the storyline. I hate Sean Penn as an actor, man. I don't know. It just is because I feel like I'm watching a guy pretending to be Sean Penn all the time. Yeah dude, I agree. You and I talked about that a little bit. He really is just like... He doesn't let the role get in the way of him being Sean Penn who's doing acting for us. Like, just so you all guys know, there's a script and there's lines and there's a character here, but above all, I'm Sean Penn! Can you guys believe it? Like, I'm doing this Sean Penn thing! This is Sean Penn doing a Sean Penn thing, man. I don't know. you have to admit Benicio Del Toro is incredible in that movie. Oh, amazing. he's great. Leonardo DiCaprio is great in that movie. I'm hooked. I'm a sucker for Leonardo. I told you this Adam. I am a sucker for Leonardo DiCaprio. I can't help myself. He's like, like he can do the, he can do the, he can do the like, like sort of pitiful, confused guy better than anybody I've ever seen in my life. Was he on our Mount Rushmore of cool? He wasn't, huh? Is he like an honorable mention? I don't know. just a great actor, not that cool. But in that movie, the thing I love is you can tell about him. He is a guy that definitely in real life smokes marijuana, vape pens, because the way he's hitting it in that Marie is something that takes years of experience to see how he's like thinking and just like mindlessly hitting the pen or like panicking and hitting pen. Yeah, dude, it's so true. His little sneaky hits, too. Like, he's, like, to sneak them in between sentences. I haven't seen that one yet, so I've been wanting to. I remember even the last one, was like, that's what I wanted to see before we did our top 10, but I didn't get to it. Set aside half of your weekend for it, because it's the longest fucking movie you'll ever see in your life. Well, we all I had the kids, I had everyone talked into watching it last night and they got it and then we saw it was two hours and 40 minutes. They're like, let's watch something else. I'm like, OK. And I didn't want, know, yeah. It's so good though. Oh, okay. My number two, I mean, it's good that we started out Adam with like TV and going downhill and everything and AI, you long journeys brought up. They're using AI to write TV shows. I did a two for on this one and maybe it's on your list, Doug, maybe not, but like there's two, two shows. There's no AI writing either these shows and that's the chair company and the rehearsal and the stuff, the stuff that The stuff that Tim Robinson and Nathan Fielder are doing, it's like, just... Someone. So I saw this post on Reddit the other day that had a picture of Tim Robinson and Nathan Fielder and it said, how about a true detective season with these two? I actually rewatched a lot of rehearsal last week with my son and I just forgot how brilliant it is. You He's insane, right? He's insane. is next level like genius, right? I mean like you've got to put him on genius Mount Rushmore. For sure he is. learning to fly a plane, a 747 and he's landing, it's just, I don't know. And then with Tim Robinson, the chair company, I just, I just was soaking that all up. could not. Robinson has a stranglehold on comedy right now. Like, all comedy roads lead to Tim Robinson right now. Well, it's weird. Do you guys ever watch SNL anymore? Um, I haven't watched it. Last season I was watching a lot of it when it was their 50th, but I haven't watched a lot of the season. So, I mean, my girlfriend's huge into it. So she's got me big into it for the past couple years. And it's like their family thing, you know, growing up, they'd always watch SNL. So we watched it every weekend. In the past two years, there have been so many sketches where the person is trying to act like Tim Robinson. It's like a direct ripoff of a Tim Robinson sketch or how his character would act or something. That guy is owning everything right now comedy wise. Yeah, dude, he's everywhere. His influence is everywhere, too. Yeah, you're right. all right. So my number two is, I'm going to bring up park city right now for me. Park city is my number two, probably number one, but we're going to go number two. Hell yeah dude, it's my number one, so we'll talk about it right now. Go ahead. Well, okay, so we all went on a retreat to Park City for a few days and rented a house there and cool house, great company. just like, you know, spent the whole weekend. We really didn't do much. I mean, we were around the house. were hanging out, you know, having a bunch of like experiences, conversations, everything. And it was such a good um feeling for me. Like it just, felt good to have people I care about close by that I could talk about things with. You I think sometimes it's hard when you're a guy to find people that you can talk to and comfortably share emotions and feelings and, you know, not feel like you have to put up a front because of your family or your coworkers or something like that. And so just being around people I cared about and love and being able to just truly be myself and talk about things that helped me. I mean, it felt like years of therapy combined into one weekend. So it was definitely near the top of my list. And it is it's it's my number one thing. So I'll just add a couple of things like I couldn't agree more. It really is in those settings, amazing to be able to get vulnerable. And I love doing those things with guys only because it really does give that opportunity to do a thing that you don't get to do very often, which is be vulnerable. Speaking of vulnerable, I mean, speaking of vulnerability, we were in that living room that had those big like two two walls versus worth of windows and anybody in that floor to ceiling windows we couldn't cover up and anybody that was outside or in another house around there could look right in and see the four of us dipshit sitting like crisscross applesauce in a tight little circle on the living room floor just cranking those whippets dude like just like they can just or like dancing or like crying to each other like people who just look right in and we're just like oh it's the middle of the day we better we better grab some more Whip its voice, it's time! man, that's all I if I ever need a good laugh during the day I just think about what it must have looked like at night when it literally two-story floor-to-ceiling windows that wrap around the house that we couldn't cover up that had a direct view from like six neighbors they could just look at and see us having a dance party and like hugging and laser beam lights uh Dude, if they watched a couple of times when we hit in those whippets and the weird things we were doing on like, with like time, like froze, but we're all in these like weird poses. It's like so good. know what? It not only was my favorite weekend of the year, it was also just like, it's so timely for me, you guys, you know, like going through grief and going through it's really scary moment in my life, but also, um, and this came up during that weekend. I know you don't talk, we don't talk about fight club, but I'm going to talk about fight club for just a minute because. Doug, had recommended that I rewatch Fight Club and I hadn't seen it in 20 years. And show, mean, it just, I'm talking about Brad Pitt. it just, um I feel like we are facing a male loneliness epidemic right now. And to be able to be in this space where men can just be weird and wild and vulnerable and held. And I just, it was so important for me and I want to keep doing it. And I want to almost like start an LA fight club chapter and then we can come and you know, and then we can have our own fight club and whatever. But because it just was, yeah, my favorite weekend of the year. And I can't, I just love you both so much for it. Yeah. Same, same. Yeah, it was a good time. hey, look, it was something I don't ever get to do, which is just be fully open about how I'm feeling, and I just felt great to do that. um good one. So that was my number one. So my last one on my list, know, speaking of Adam, you brought up Saturday Night Live. The Saturday Night Live uh 50 anniversary music, like the concert that they did was just hog heaven for me. Like you think about, you know, Post Malone singing with Nirvana or um God, what was it? Robin singing with David Byrne or randomly David Byrne also getting in with like Arcade Fire and St. Vincent for no reason at all. um Dude, that thing was like, that's like the biggest, star-studded music thing that like, it's maybe happened since Woodstock. That thing was amazing. Did you guys watch that thing? Yeah, that was my second favorite thing that happened in 2025. I loved it. I'm trying to think of having anything else to say about it, but no, just I loved it. I love it. The wine's kicking in a lot right now. I'm done with my list, Adam. So what's yours? Wrap it up. My number one ahead of my mom's heart surgery and my weekend with you guys and Making friends with everybody my number one is for about the last three months. I've been addicted to a YouTube guy and His name is judge Cedric Simpson, and he just live streams his court from Michigan Ha ha ha ha ha! And this is the number one thing that brings me joy this year is if I'm ever bored or sad or lonely, I just tap into watching videos of Judge Cedric Simpson's courtroom. Ha ha! You guys should all look it up man. He's this very animated guy. He's like this very handsome black guy that has a white like little mustache and He's got a camera right in front of him and cameras facing the crowd and if he's got zoom cameras or whatever and he'll he'll talk and he'll like Be real expressive and whatever and then if he ever gets real mad at people which he does all the time before he makes a decision he'll say I gotta go take a recess for like three minutes and he goes and calms himself down and then comes back out and like issues a very impartial fair decision so yeah I'm addicted to this guy he's my number one I'm sorry you guys I'm hanging out with us or going to Italy. Yeah. it could be more perfect. I fucking love it. Oh man, that's so funny. Man. Well, boys, we had pretty good lists this time around. went an hour and almost an hour and a half, went an hour and 22 minutes. any honorable mentions that you wish you could have talked about? The only honorable mention... Go ahead. was gonna give an honorable mention to uh Doug's flute that I got to play at the retreat. I was watching some, You were a natural. so emotional, I like I was crying. That flute was so awesome! the one moment we were all just in it at one point and then Doug started playing the guitar and you started harmonizing with that flute and like we were just like in that spell that was like, it was so fun. I was doing something, I think maybe it was the drum. Yeah, I think I had the drum going. Mike not only had the drum, but he was also just kind of vocalizing some stuff. That was like the most perfect moment. We were all involved. of it, we did it. just went for like maybe 30 seconds to a minute, and we were all just kind of zoning out on our world. And then it stopped at the same time. And we all just kind of like look around like, what the fuck just happened? What was that? The fourth guy that was with us doesn't feel very comfortable with music, but if you looked over at him, he was going like this. yeah, I used this. He was doing that head bob, but he wasn't like he just kind of liked doing like that little like head bob to the whole thing. That was so great So good. he's a thundercat so He's a thundercat. My my only honorable mention that I have, Mike, is in a libasa way. Adam, that's this. That's that's a word I made up this year to describe everything being a OK, even though it's like good or bad or tough times or heartbreak or anger or frustration or depression or joy or just everything. Like if you zoom out far enough. You can sort of appreciate everything and there's not there's not quite a word that describes that. And so I made up the word, which is in a libasa way. And uh my kids say it now, too. So I love it. Doug, it's so funny you bring that up because I almost texted you today because in a little boss way. You got to send him the song, Doug. But I was going to even text you today about it because the last couple of times when I've gotten really high and just played music and like, you know, I kind of go all over the place with different songs and all of my songs at one point, I was just like. singing in a a libasa way at some point like that lyric that word came up you know in whatever tune I was singing it just happened to rhyme with whatever was like coming out and so I was like Doug this this word clearly has cast a spell on me because I just keep singing it over and over and over again no matter what like tune I'm singing. It's in a La Bossa way is standing in a field of tall grass with the Sun on your face with all of your loved ones no matter what kind of like no matter what kind of status your relationship is in maybe there's been a big breakup or a fight or Whatever but or your madly in love, but you're standing there with everyone and the Sun is on your face And you just say in a La Bossa way Is it, like are you saying it's a way? Like a way? hey, how are you doing? Oh, I'm in a LaBossa way. Or is it just like, like just the sound of the word? I-N-N-A-L-O-B-S-S-A-W-E-I is how you spell it. So in a LaBossa way is all one word. It's not, it's not, you know, that's not in a, so it's not just the word LaBossa. It's not in, I'm in a LaBossa way. uh And for me, it's not a word you use in a s- you don't use it in a sentence. real LaBossa way. I'm in a definite LaBassa I was going to say, don't feel like I use it. It's like, it's not a word you use in a sentence. It's when you just kind of got, just, it's the word. You don't use it with a sentence. It's just the word, you know, you kind of just like when you know the word kind of works, you just, that word comes. We, me and my boys have a word that we do with that, which is kato mate. That's just our telling everybody to calm down, kato mate. day. doesn't mean anything. got it from watching Reverend Run's house on MTV one time and I heard him say it and it doesn't mean anything. So we just started saying it to help people to calm down around here. Hey, Cato Mate. I like that. There's I I've been you you can make up words that I've been using that word and the police have not come yet. So you can just make up words. There's no rules. Well, as long as you can figure out how to make the question mark with a comma underneath it happen, we got ourselves a stew. God damn, thank you for saying that. That's right. When you need to ask multiple questions, you need a question mark with a comma underneath instead of a period. Hey, do you need anything? Because I'm going to the store. Period. Exactly. Do you need anything? Can of beans? Dog food? don't know what my grocery list is here. But the first thing I thought of was a can of beans. no big, not to brag, but that's my top priorities. Can of beans and dog food. going on the rails? HAHAHAHA Alright boys, what a good, what a fun time. Alright boys. could ring in the newer year with all of you. So let's do another like weekend soon, please. So, okay. Happy New Year, Fellers. Merry Christmas everyone. Love you guys. Bye. Doug.
