Tiger Woods, NCAA Tourney, MLB Baseball opening weekend.

SPEAKER_01

We can't get to that right now. Because there's something else to talk about that's happened over the last two days. And I'm sure my listeners know what I'm gonna talk about. Oh, that's right. Tiger Woods. Tiger Woods was involved in an accident on Friday afternoon, Eastern time. He was speeding along in his Range Rover and tried to pass some uh landscapers or somebody with a trailer and flipped his SUV. Now, that's all we knew at the time. We didn't know later on more of the story. That's all we knew. Tiger Woods was involved in an accident flipping his SUV. I immediately, after hearing this news, now you know how the host is. You know what the host sometimes likes to say things maybe that you know shouldn't be out there. Maybe the host shouldn't go down the road sometimes that he says, because the host has all these theories all the time. So I said, without even knowing more information yet, I texted a friend. I said, hey, because my friend, my one friend, is a big Tiger Woods fan. No matter what Tiger does, he's a fan. It doesn't matter. Loves the guy, can't do anything wrong in his eye. So I I I texted him and said, I think your boy Tiger needs to take driving lessons. And I forget what he texted back. And the next text I said, and this is this is probably, I'm not kidding. This is probably 15 minutes after finding out this news happened. I said, I wouldn't put it past Tiger that he got in the accident on purpose so he could back out of not playing in the Masters. That's exactly what I thought. Because you just saw this past week, Tiger allegedly came back and returned to TGL, you know, the stupid indoor golf league that, you know, nobody watches, by the way. Ratings were down 35% from last year. So keep that in mind. Nobody watches this. I don't know any. I don't know, besides the one guy I texted my friend who loves Tiger Woods. I don't know of anybody that watches this show. The TGL league. I don't know of anybody that watches it. Again, you know how hard it is to hit on a simulator. I talked about it on the show. Why would I want to watch a bunch of pro golfers hit on a simulator in some league where these guys can make even more money? Now that's a whole different show we could talk about. But you saw Tiger compete on the show last Tuesday or Wednesday or whatever it was, and he wasn't that good. He didn't play good at all. And yet, the stories and the rumors afterwards, is Tiger gonna be in the Masters? Are you gonna be in the Masters? Wouldn't answer the question. Wouldn't answer the question. He was on the Genesis Open a few weeks ago with Jim Nance in the booth, and they legit asked him right to his face if he was gonna compete at the Masters, and he said, we'll see. Didn't give an answer. Well, I think we all know the answer now. He ain't gonna play in the Masters after this incident. Because after I said that, the news starts to break. And again, we didn't know more of the details yet. Tiger Woods was arrested on suspicion of DUI. Tiger Woods again involved in another rollover accident. And again, a suspicion of some kind something under the influence. You think this guy would get a driver by now? Oh, I got a little story about that too at the end of this whole Tiger Woods thing. I got a little story about having a driver. I'll tell you that story. More news comes out. Tiger, the police had a press conference. Tiger did not have any smell of alcohol on it. But, but refused to take a urine test on the scene to prove that he wasn't on any other drugs. And the officers said that they took into consideration of all the surgeries Tiger had and the medications he could have been on at the time of the accident. Tiger Woods flipped the car on his side and he crawled out the passenger side. Later the mugshot was released. Tiger had red blood shot eyes in the mugshot. Now I don't know what he's on. And he could legitimately be on pills that he's taken for his back, or he's taken for his leg, or he's taken for his Achilles. He could be on any anything, any kind of pain medication, any kind of muscle reliever, whatever it could be. It's obviously something more than that. Obviously, it has to be. Yeah. Look it up. Look it up if you don't remember. There's something wrong here. Is Tiger Woods one of the greatest pro golfers to ever play the game? Absolutely. Absolutely. We're not taking any of that away. If he didn't get hurt or tear his ACL or have all the surgeries, who knows how many majors this guy would have won? And who knows how many majors he would have won more than Jack Nick. But it didn't happen. Now he's got a legit excuse to not play in the Masters in a couple weeks. There's no way he could be ready. Not now. He's not gonna play. He can't. He's not gonna go out and face the public two weeks after this kind of incident. You can write that off right now. And we gotta hear every time is Tiger gonna play? Is Tiger gonna come back? Is Tiger gonna join the tour? He hasn't played a legit round of golf since 2024. And you think he's gonna come back out to Masters and make the cut? That's what you people want to see? Don't you wanna do don't the fans out there of Tiger Woods who really love Tiger Woods, don't the fans out there want to remember Tiger being Tiger? Do you really want to see Tiger go out in a couple weeks and shoot 78 and 78 and go home? Maybe he shoot he won't even shoot that low. Is that what you want from your hero? And he just he just can't seem to stay out of trouble. And it's not bad trouble. It's not like he's you know, you know, in trouble shooting someone or or beating people up or or you know doing some other bad stuff. He just doesn't know how to drive a car. He just keeps getting in trouble when he gets behind the wheel. And that's what I said. Like, you're Tiger Woods. You've made more money than anybody in your PGA career. You still have sponsors. You can't get anybody to drive you around. No one will drive you around. You don't want to pay anybody? And again, you know the saying the rich stay richer for a reason. He's he's probably a little frugal. Doesn't want to pay a driver. Doesn't want to give it have to give the guy a tip. How about an Uber? If if you've been popping prescription drugs all day, and I maybe it it messes with his mind so much that he doesn't know what he's doing. If you're popping prescription drugs all day, all you gotta do is pick up your phone. You hit Uber. You hit lift. The instructions are easy to follow. Just type where you want to go, put where you're gonna be, and the people will show up. It's that simple. And Tiger can't do that. I'll give you an example of a celebrity I actually know and saw do this. Now, I don't know him personally. And that is Dana White. Me living here in Las Vegas, I've had many interactions with Dana White, believe it or not. Now, he wouldn't know the host by name at all, okay? And I'm not saying I know him that way, and I'll explain how I know him. So uh my daughter, Cookie, who's been on the show for people who have listened, been listening a long time, and she hasn't been on a while, but she used to go to a school here in Las Vegas called Faith Lutheran. She was recruited by Faith Rutheran to play on the tennis team. So she went to Faith Lutheran for one year to play on the tennis team as a freshman. And her getting a free ride, free scholarship, because the caught the school to go there cost some bucks. And the host didn't want to pay. We worked out a deal with the school where she got a full scholarship to go there and play just because they wanted her to play tennis, because they wanted to have the best tennis team. So she went there to play tennis. Now, the only downfall with that is that I had to volunteer my time to do activities for the school. I had to volunteer to help out with the other sports programs in the school. And I had to do so many hours. Once I reached my hours, I was relieved of my duties. I didn't have to go and help and volunteer anymore. Well, during the football season, Faith Lutheran had a pretty good football team. Not as good as Bishop Gorman, for those who know Las Vegas area. Bishop Gorman, of course, is like a college team around here in high school. But Faith Uther did have a pretty decent football team. Dana White's sons played on the football team. And as my duties of volunteering and helping for the school, I had to park cars for the home games on Friday night. That was one of the voluntary duties I had to do. I stood with an orange vest on, I stood by a cone, and as the cars came in, the people got out and I went and parked their car for them. That's what I did. Well, when Dana White showed up to park his car, oh, he wasn't driving. He had a driver. The driver got out, Dana White would go out and come out of the back seat. Say hi to me, talk to me for a few minutes, give me the keys of the car, and I went and parked it. And Dana White went in the stadium, watched his two sons play their high school game. Dana White had a driver. He's just as popular as Tiger Woods. He's got just as much money as Tiger Woods. He had no problem with having a driver. He always had a driver. Every home game I parked cars. Dana White would show up, and he was in the backseat of his vehicle. Every time. And his driver that got out of the car couldn't have been any more nicer than he was. He was a really down-to-earth guy and great. And always shook my hand. Every time. Nobody, none of the other parents shook my hand when I took their car and parked it for them. Nobody else talked to me and said hi to me. Nobody else striked up a conversation with me. But Dana White did. Every time. He couldn't have been more nicer. But the whole moral of the story is he had his own driver. He wasn't driving to the game by himself. Why can't Tiger get up drive? Why is he always driving by himself? That's it. I mean, that's simple. You would think, right? All the money that these athletes have. You hear all the accidents these guys get into? You hear all the mistakes these guys make when they get behind the wheel? Miles Garrett, what? He can't he hundreds of miles per hour going and getting speeding tickets? You can't make it up, people. These guys with the most money think they're in invulnerable. Nothing can happen to them. That's twice now Tiger Woods has rolled a car. Twice! And who knows? Right? Let's be honest here. How many times do you think Tiger Woods might have gotten in some kind of altercation with a vehicle? And the cops let him go. Right? Think about that. Because he's Tiger Woods. There might be incidents out there that we don't know about. So, you know, some cops probably said, oh my god, it's Tiger Woods. Well, we'll just let him go. Some cops are like that. Most cops aren't. So, you know, it is with the whole situation with Tiger, but man. I doubt we see him in a few weeks, play it Augusta. I really do. I can't wait to do the Master Show next week with the guest. I can't wait to hear what the guest says about it. But man, this is crazy to think about it, isn't it? It's crazy that he can't get a driver. And I just told you another story about Dana White. He's got a driver. But Tiger Woods doesn't. Excuse me. Well, we got ourselves a Final Four, people. And man, what a game we just saw, right? If for those who watch the the uh Duke UConn game, I mean, I thought Duke had the game in the back. And uh we'll talk about that in a second. But uh yesterday we had uh Arizona rolling, uh number one seed. They rolled uh easily uh to uh victory yesterday. They didn't have uh any problems uh taking care of Purdue and winning their game. And Illinois, uh, which were in trouble for a while against Iowa. Iowa is the ninth seed. But as I told you people, remember I told you last week, none of these lowers are none of these higher seeds are making. Now Iowa got to the elite eight, which was surprising. They got to the elite eight, but they weren't getting any farther. And Illinois, being a number third, uh third seed, uh, pulled out the victory there in the Final Four. And then earlier today, uh, you saw Tennessee get to the Elite Eight, I think for the third year in a row. How about that? Tennessee, three years in a row in Elite Eight, uh shows you that when they get into the Elite Eight, that they're just not the power team that needs to keep it going to get to the Final Four because Michigan uh buried them in their game. Uh they won pretty easily. So Arizona, Illinois, Michigan is in, and then I hope you watch the last game. Duke up big. Yukon comes storming back. Duke with the inbounds pass, tried to get it up the foot up the court. Guy tried to throw it over to Yukon players. They knocked it down, passed it to the one white kid. White kid makes a three, 0.4 seconds left. Duke tries to inbound the ball. No good. Yukon, the number two seed, goes on to beat Duke, and another heartbreaking loss for John Shire and Duke as they don't get to the Final Four this year. Now, Bobby Hurley, the nut job that he is, and Yukon, uh, you know, always loves to spin it that he never does anything wrong. He's this hard-nosed coach and everything. Well, he did it again, folks. A team that's probably not as talented as Michigan. Probably not as talented as Arizona. Could be on the same level as Illinois because that's who they play. Uh, they probably got a good shot of beating them uh next Saturday, but here he is again, you know, just willing his team to victory and getting in the Final Four. They beat, of course, St. John's uh in the Sweet 16 to get to this game, and now he moves on to the Final Four again. And Duke, Duke, Duke, Duke. When, and I haven't checked anything since the game ended. When's the fire John Shire tweets and articles gonna come out? Because you know that's what's gonna happen. You know someone's gonna say, That wouldn't have happened if Krasowski was coaching the team. I know it's Mike Khrushchevsky. I know, but that's what we call him. Krasowski. Wouldn't it have happened if Krzyski inbounding the ball like that wouldn't have happened under Mike Krasowski's watch? That's what you're going to hear the next day or so as we move into the Final Four. And you're going to hear, well, I think Duke needs to move on from John Shire. Look, today's basketball is way different than when Kruzwski was coaching just a few years ago. Every year, John Shire has a brand new team. Every year, he's got to get that team to play with each other. And this isn't just Duke. This is most of the schools these days. This isn't just Duke. Most of the schools are like this. They put a team together, they got to learn to play in a short period of time. And then they got 25 or so games to figure it out. They got to start playing good down the stretch. They got to play good in their conference tournament, and they got to be playing their best, come the tournament. That's how it goes for most of these teams. So for John Shire to take five guys different last year and make it as far as they did. And this year to take another five guys, coach them up, get them ready, get them to play with each other, get them into the Elite Eight. I think he's doing a great job. Now, is he going to learn from his mistakes? I don't know. We'll see. You know, Duke never fired Mike Krasowski right away when he wasn't winning. It took Krasowski a few seasons to get Duke basketball going to be a legit, legitimate powerhouse, to be a blue chip team. I hope Duke has some patience and gives John Shire a chance. Because you know it's coming. You know the chance for him are coming. So here's the thing with these with these teams. And this is how it is for the tournament. And whenever we talk about this, no mid-major teams are gonna make it. All the big seeds were gonna win. And look, you got two ones, a two, and a three in the Final Four. Nothing higher than that. And here's here's how 80% of the games went, if you watched a lot of them. 80% of them. The higher seed team, most of them stayed in it the whole first half. Some were even winning the game. Some were even winning the game in the second half. And then as soon as the lower seed team took the lead, got ahead five or six points, the higher seed team panicked. They started taking threes to catch up. They couldn't make them anymore. The lower seed team just took advantage of that, went down, scored a two. Then the higher seed team panics again, and they take another three. The lower seed team just smells victory, smells blood in the water. They take the ball, they go right back down the field, they score again, and there you next thing you know, a game that was three or four or five points close. The next thing you know, it's nine or ten or eleven point blowout. And I don't know how many times we saw that in the turn. I don't know how many times that happened. It seemed like it was every game. Seems like every game, the higher seed played great in the first half, played a little better in the second half, and then the team that has the better players, that was the lower seed, just put it all together and put the foot on the gas and beat them out. Now the other thing, too, here's the other thing. Higher seed team comes down, they miss. Lower seed team gets the ball, they come down, they may miss, but they always seem to get the offensive rebound to get another chance to score. They then pass it, pass it around. Next thing you know, three, and now the higher seed team is down again. It seems like every time the higher seed team had a chance to stay in the game, they'd miss. Then the lower seed would come down, miss a shot, but their offensive rebounding abilities took over, they'd get the ball, and they would score again. That was the two scenarios I saw enough of in this tournament so far. Now we got three games left. Two final, four games, and of course the final uh a week from tomorrow night on Monday. I don't know if that's gonna be the case in these four games. Now we got Yukon and Illinois. I think Yukon can easily beat Illinois. I don't think, I don't think Yukon is scared at all of Illinois. I think that's gonna be it. I think that would be of the two games, I think Illinois is not gonna be able to put up a fight with Yukon. I think Yukon will will its way to win that game. Now the other game, Arizona and Michigan, that's the championship right there. Because whoever wins that game is gonna beat Yukon. So the championship game is the second Final Four game on Saturday, Arizona and Michigan. That's gonna be the game. That's gonna be a great game. That's gonna come down to the wire. That's gonna be a fantastic game. That will be your championship game. Because, as I just said, whoever wins is gonna wipe UConn or Illinois happens to win, wipe Illinois off the court. There's no way. No way. So that will be uh something to see. Now, I didn't bring this up last week because I forgot about it. And one of the reasons why I didn't bring it up last week with all the games being played, you know, over the course of four days last week. Uh and a lot of the games I didn't watch with the sound because I was getting annoyed with the announcer. I forgot about Bill Rafford. I forgot with about all the stupid sayings this guy does when we're watching a game when they go to a commercial. He does something, he does he that's how his voice goes. And he does all these stupid sayings.

SPEAKER_00

Put the clothes in a wash, put them in the dryer, what do you got? You got the pile of dry to clean clothes, CBS.

SPEAKER_01

That's Bill Rafferty. I know he's old. He's great, does great analysis, but we don't need the stupid sayings at the end before we go to a commercial.

SPEAKER_00

Get a bunch get some meat, get some cheese, what do you got? You got a double cheeseburger, Bill Rafferty. I mean, enough.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, I don't know how many we heard today during the during the the uh Duke Yukon game.

SPEAKER_00

Get some dough! Get some sauce, get a little topping, what do you got? You got a pizza in a muffin! Bill Rafferty.

SPEAKER_01

I mean, it's just this ridiculous. This ridiculous you get with the Bill Rafferty stuff. And now we got three more games with him next weekend. Pay attention, folks. Pay attention to Bill Rafferty. Because he's got all these stupid sayings.

SPEAKER_00

Got a dirty car, put some money in the machine, go through the car wash, your car's clean, Bill Rafferty. Hold me back, CBS.

SPEAKER_01

And then you got on the other side of Bill Rafferty, you got Grant Hill. Does Grant Hill know what game he's watching? Because he never says anything legit, just goes off on tangents. He sometimes interrupts Iron Eagle. Ian Eagle's trying to do a play-by-play. Grant Hill's still talking about some nonsense. And Grant Hill's a great college player. He's also a good NBA player. And here he is on the action. He's just talking away, and the play's going on. Ion Eagles probably elbowing him. Shut up! Shut up, Grant! They're the number one team. And Iron Eagle's great. I told you Iron Eagles should replace Jim Nats on CBS number one team on football. Iron Eagle's the best. He's great. I'm glad they got rid of Jim Nats on the basketball. Iron Eagle is awesome. Should have got rid of it, should have had Iron Eagle on there a long time ago. Great play by play. And his son's not bad either for NBC. Noah Eagle. He's not bad either. He's good. All right, Noah Eagle should replace Tariqo on NBC. We need more Eagle than Ouncers. But man. Bill Raffrey. Pay attention now. For those of you watching the tournament, pay attention next weekend about Bill Raffrey. You'll hear all the stupid catchphrases and sayings he does. Oh my god.

SPEAKER_00

Put your pencil in a pencil sharpener. What do you got? You got a sharper pencil.

SPEAKER_01

It's out of control with the Bill Raffi. I know a lot of people probably haven't been paying attention, but Major League Baseball has started. I know people were not even in April yet. April doesn't start until Wednesday. We've already had uh games been played since Thursday. With the Yankees and the Giants. Or wait, Wednesday they started. Last Wednesday baseball started. Here's the thing with baseball these days. Now, I wasn't really trying to watch any baseball this weekend. I know it's the first weekend. I did tune in to see the Netflix coverage about how it's going to be. But here's the thing. Here's the thing with baseball. It's on MLB TV, it's on ESPN. It's on Fox. It's on FS1. It's on NBC. It's on Peacock. It's on Netflix. It's on Apple TV. Holy cow! So many options to try to find a game. You can't keep track of it, baseball. The more and more we get into the streaming business. The more and more streaming keeps on expanding. We keep on getting, you know, all these other streaming options to watch games. Baseball's going to be baseball's 162 games per team. Baseball is going to be spread so far across all these all these streaming abilities, all these TV networks, that you're going to get so confused on where to find your team every game that if you were a legit baseball fan, like the Guests, for example, let's just use the Guest's example. Guess is a New York Yankees fan. He wants to watch the Yankees play every game. He's old school. He wants to watch his Yankees play every night. And, you know, I walk around the neighborhood at night here. And people have their windows open. So you can see what they're watching when I walk when I walk the dog. And there's a lot of Dodgers fans that live in this neighborhood that I live in. And you walk around, you see them watching the Dodgers. And you want to watch your team play every game, how much is it costing you to be able to do that? Because the Yankees, their home network is the Yes Network. And not every game's on Yes Network. Yankees this past weekend. Game on Netflix, game on Fox, a game on the Yes Network. A game on NBC Sports. The Yankees were everywhere. So if you're a legit Yankee fan, how many services are you paying for to be able to watch every game? Just as if you were a Dodger fan, just as if you were a Cincinnati Red fan, just if you were a Philadelphia Phillies fan, maybe you're even a somehow, I don't know why, a Florida Marlins fan. Maybe you want to watch every one of their games. How much is it costing you to watch all your team's games? And maybe I maybe I maybe the hostess is wrong. Maybe the hostess doesn't know enough of it. Maybe if you sign up for MLB TV, maybe you do get every game, regardless of what network it's on. Maybe they pass you through anyway. But I I thought, I thought, and I could be wrong, if the game is on one of these other streaming services, Netflix, Apple TV, whatever, you're not getting it on the local channel. For example, the Yankees are on Netflix or Apple TV, you're not getting it on Yes. You're screwed. You gotta, you, you won't get it on Yes. You gotta watch it on one of these streaming services. So, you know, for all you people out there who love baseball, and there's a lot of people who love baseball. For all you people out there, yeah, what are you paying to watch your game? I mean, to watch your team. Better off getting season tickets and going to the games. Better off buying a ticket in the upper deck. You can just go to all the games to see your team play. Then you won't have to worry about streaming it. You gotta worry about parking and eating and having some drinks and all that other stuff. But you won't have to worry about seeing the game, you'd have to see the ticket. But that's just like that's just unbelievable out there. What you gotta do to be able to follow your team if you really want to see every game. And baseball, you know, over the years, you know, viewership has declined. Now they had a great, of course, remember we talked about it on here, they had a great viewership for the World Series, great viewership, great ratings for the World Series this past for the Dodgers and Blue Jets. You would think, you would think that Major League Baseball would put everything under one umbrella to get all their fans to sign up in one spot so they could see every game. You didn't think they would do that. But they don't. So they just make it harder for the fans to watch all their games. Now, of course, since baseball has started, I do have some crazy stats already. And we're only what? One weekend in to the Major League Baseball season. There have been over 25,000 days of games of baseball in Major League Baseball history. Yesterday, Saturday, is the only day one of the where three different players homered in their Major League MLB debut. Carson Benge of the Mets, Manutu Marakama of the White Sox, and JJ Weatherholt of the St. Louis Cardinals. Think about that stat. 25,000 days of games in Major League Baseball history. Yesterday was the first day three players all hit a home run in their debut game. Now, JJ Weatherholt of the Cardinals is the first player in Major League Baseball history with a home run in his first career game and a walk-off hit in his second career game. So think about that. What about JJ Weatherholt? He's one of the three players that hit a home run in their debut, and in his second major league game, he hits a walk-off hit for the Cardinals to seal a victory. So JJ Weatherholt already making a name for himself. Pretty uh odd name. Weatherholt. Weatherholt! Yes, sir. Anyway, Chase DeLauder. There's another guy. He is one, he is only one of one other player with four home runs in their first three career regular season games. The only other player to do that was Trevor Story in 2016. So three players, I'm sorry, two players have hit four home runs in their first three career games. That is Chase DeLoder and Trevor Story. So that was the that's the only players to have done that in Major League Baseball history. Now, the Yankees, on the other hand, they swept the San Francisco Giants all on the road this past weekend in their first three games of the season. The Yankees have swept the opening series for the third straight season. The only other team to do that in Major League Baseball history? The Detroit Tigers did it in 2014, 2015, and 2016. Today, the Yankees, or yesterday, the Yankees joined them in doing it in 2024, 2025, and 2026. So the Yankees joined that stat. On Major League Baseball's opening day, the NL East is the first division in MLB history to have every team start 1-0. That's right, every NLS team, NL East team won their season opener, and all five teams in that division were 1-0. That's the first time that has ever happened on their new alignment in Major League Baseball. So some pretty uh crazy stats so far. And we're just three games into the season, and we got these crazy stats already with baseball. Man, I don't know what's going to happen with this season, the way it's going to go. But that's unbelievable that the stats are that, you know, baseball. So much can happen over a course of season. And so much can happen with all the different players, the way baseball's played, uh, you know, just anything can just happen in a baseball game that you get all these crazy stats. And, you know, I love I like seeing them, and I like sharing them with you guys. You know, just to get people thinking about baseball, because we don't normally talk a lot baseball on this show. We know who for those who've listened to the show. 537 episodes. We've probably talked about baseball on this show maybe 50 times. Maybe even a little more than that. We we say things here and there about baseball. We don't focus that on it as our main topics every week. Look at, I've done a whole show already today. I haven't mentioned football once. But I'm gonna. I got all kinds of football stuff here. I'm just not gonna talk about it on this show. I'm gonna save it for uh, you know, other other shows that are uh coming up here in the uh you know future. So I'm not gonna talk about those yet. But some crazy baseball stats to start the season. Uh the only thing I really wanted to talk about football-wise, and we'll get into more football stuff and stats and everything. We've got the draft coming up. Uh, but first we've got to get through March Madness. We've got to get through the Masters, and we've got to get through the start of baseball before we get dive into some more football stuff. But I do want to talk about Jackson Smith the Big Bo signing a four-year 168.6 million dollar extension with the Seattle Seahawks. He got a hundred and twenty million guarantee. He is now the top highest paid receiver in the NFL at$42.7 million per season. Man, that I'm sorry,$42.15 million per season. He is number one. Jamar Chase now is second at 40.25. Justin Jefferson is third at 35. CeeDee Lamb is fourth at 34 million. DK Metcalf is fifth at 33 million. Garrett Wilson, sixth at 32.5 million. AJ Brown at 32 million. Amon St. Brown at 30 million. Brandon Ayuk, who's not even on anybody's team at 30 million. And Terry McLaurin is at 29 million. Those are your top receivers now after the Jackson Smith is a big of a deal. Now look. I know he was a great receiver this past season. Made Sam Darnold look great. Had a great season. Won the Super Bowl. Gets open. First down. Make a play. How many people out there think he's worth 42 or 43 million? Honestly. I mean, I know it's going right now in the NFL for these times. But you think he's on the same level as Jamar Chase? You think he's on the same level as Justin Jefferson? I don't. But Justin Jefferson had Sam Darnold. Just like Jackson Smith Bigman did this past year. He had. Do I think that Smith Bigman is good as those two? No. But that's the price you gotta pay. You won the Super Bowl. He's your top receiver. You gotta pay him. They also gave money to uh the the guy that they uh Rashid. They also gave money to him this past for a free agency. They re-signed him. So Seattle not paying Sam Darnold a huge contract at quarterback, like you know, Dallas is paying Dak Prescott, like Since I'm paying Joe Burrow, like the Bills are paying Josh Allen. You know, Sam Darnold's on the lower end of that. So they got a little bit more money to spend on some, you know, some of their you know playmates. So Jackson's picture bigger cashed in. He cashed in more than he should have probably. But he was able to cash into that because of the Sam Darnold. So that's that's one of the positives of Sam Darnold. Yeah, you may not think he's as good as Josh Allen. You may not think he's as good as the Mahomes, you might not think he's as good as Dak Prescott, you might think not think he's good as Joe Burrow. But he's on a team where they're keeping their core players now. He's on a team where he's not making as much as the top players in the league, and he's on a team where they can take the money and give it to some of the other players. Whereas the Buffalo Bills can't. Whereas the Mahomes can't. Whereas Joe Burrow can't, they can't on their defense. They did on their offense, but they can't on their defense. So there's advantages and disadvantages of having a top-tier quarterback. Seattle is showing you one of the advantages disadvantages of not having a top-tier quarterback. Sorry, they're showing you the advantages of having a below top-tier quarterback because they could sign other players to build around their quarterback. Whereas these other teams have their top quarterback and paying them top dollar, they gotta build underneath him. The big difference. Big difference when you got all your money going to one guy and you gotta spread the other money to build up beneath him. But if you got medium money going to the top quarterback, you got more money to give to other legitimate players. I probably didn't explain that very well. I probably screwed that up a little bit. I think I did. I think I should rewind this and resay it. But I hope you can figure out what it said. I know. Sometimes the host steps on his own words when he's trying to describe something.
