Oh my goodness. I told you I was gonna be back on. I told you we got all kinds of stuff to talk about. I was so excited to do another show for you guys this week that I'm out in the Audi Mobile studio. And folks, today, today, it's 112 degrees out here in Las Vegas. And I'm sitting in my car. I don't have the AC on. I'm sitting in my car doing this show for you. I might be, I might melt away by the time I end up doing this podcast. So this may not be a long podcast, but there's stuff out there to talk about. I still have a whole list of stuff here that I haven't even gotten over yet. I gotta talk about the branded Soresby story. I haven't even mentioned yet the ongoing uh what's happening right now at the World Cup and all the soccer hooligans that have let loose into our country. They're just all over the place. And we have more NFL over and unders to do. The first list. Yes, congrats to the Carolina Hurricades for capturing their second Stanley Cup on Sunday night as they shut out the Vegas Golden Grams three to nothing, and they just dominated them in game six. I mean, dominated them. That defense of Carolina clamped it down so hard on all those offensive skill players on the Golden Grams that at one point in the game, the Golden Grams had two shots on goal in 30 minutes of ice time. Two! That is just an amazing defensive scheme they came up with, an amazing defensive performance, and man, shout out to Carolina for stepping it up when they had to. Now, uh Stahl, the guy I talked about previously on the show, the uh center for Carolina, whose specialty is winning face-offs, and he happened to score a goal in uh, I believe, four or five straight Stanley Cup final games. Um, so of course, they gave him the MVP trophy. Now, I don't know if he deserved the MVP trophy. I'm gonna tell you why. I thought Bussey, the goalie for Carolina, was the MVP. He's the backup. Anderson, their main goalie, was very shaky in the first three games for Carolina. Busy came in in game four, played great, they won. He went, but they went back to Carolina, he played great in that game, he stonewalled Jack Eichel on a one-on-one loose puck off a face-off. He stopped him. And then in game six, under immense pressure on the road, the guy pitches a shutout against one of the top offensive teams in the league. So I know it's only a small three-game performance, and the Conn Smythe trophy for MVP in the Stanley Cup is not just based on the Stanley Cup finals, it's based on the whole your whole playoff performance, who was the MVP. But man, if it wasn't for Busy uh getting red hot for Carolina, would they have won the series? Would they have been in that same situation? I I don't I don't have an answer for you. I don't know. We don't know. But he's the reason they they uh they won that game. Like crazy that he came up with that kind of performance to you know ensure that the Carolina Panthers came away with their second Stanley Cup. And how about this, Golden Graham fans? That's the second time you've lost the Stan Cup on home ice. That's the second time you've seen a visiting team hoist Lord Stanley in your building. Twice. Twice you've lost the finals on home ice. You're not supposed to lose on home ice, but that's not twice. Of course, the first time was to the Washington Capitals, uh, you know, many years ago when uh Vegas ended up playing them in the finals. And how about Rob Brandamore? Uh he won a Stanley Cup with the Carolina Panthers in 2007, hoisting that up. Now he gets to hoist the Stanley Cup up as a head coach. Uh you know, one of the very few player slash head coaches to both win a Stanley Cup as a player and as a head coach. Uh congrats to uh Rob Brandamore for you know you know doing that accomplishment and you know succeeding with Carolina. They stuck with him as a head coach. Uh he's finally rewarded them with victory. And you know, Carolina was one of the best teams all year. 55 wins, one of the most balanced teams all year. You wouldn't think, though, with a team with 55 wins, I think what they have, 113 points, maybe more than that. You wouldn't think of a team like that, well balanced the way they were, scoring evenly across the board, goals, assists with their players. Their defense was phenomenal. The fore-checking demand, the checking was phenomenal. Great goalie with Anderson all year. You would think that they wouldn't have to rely on a backup goalie the last three games to clinch the Stanley Cup finals, but they did. And that's what teams are all about. You put in the right players at the right time, and they perform, and that's what Bussey did. And now Carolina goes into, you know, coming back with basically the same team. They might make some slight adjustments, improvements here and there with uh players and pickups or trades or maybe free agency, but they're gonna be right back there next year. They've been a steady team uh, you know, in the NHL the last five years, a very competitive team. So I wouldn't I wouldn't write them off uh you know to try to come back and win next year. You know, Florida went to the Stanley Cup three years in a row. So, you know, why can't Carolina do the same? They got a young team, uh, great coach, great players, two goalies if they can get Anderson's head fixed for uh you know his meltdown in the in the uh finals. So, you know, a lot to look forward to in Carolina. The Golden Grams, on the other hand. I had written down here when I was writing this out, would John Torotella remain as head coach? Well, that's not gonna happen. Because it was already announced by the Golden Grams this morning that John Torotella will not uh be kept as head coach of the Golden Grams. They thanked him for his service, they uh thanked him for uh coming in and uh you know being the head coach for eight regular season games, and they thanked him for their Stanley Cup playoff run. And they got to the finals, and the GM decides not to keep them. The balls on this general manager, thinking that they can go out and get somebody better. And as you can see from their history, they have no problem getting a head coach and getting him right out the door when they don't like him. They have no problem with that. I mean what if they've had five head coaches already in the eight years of existence, four head coaches already? This team has had in their existence in the NHL. They got no problem, no problem throwing the head coach right under the bust and changing head coaches. So why would they keep John Tortell? This GM obviously thinks he can go out and get somebody else, somebody better, somebody that's gonna be able to, you know, lead this team to victory. The arrogance and the balls on this guy. The thinking that can do that. Now, one thing this guy should be worried about is again, I'm gonna stick with this. I know it's not the right win total, but prior to John Torotello coming on, this team had 32 wins. 32. Who got hot with the new head coach and made an impressive run in the Stanley Cup playoffs. We're gonna give them credit where credit's due. Okay, I'm not gonna take that away from but remember, this team's a 32-win team. And you heard uh Sue Ban and Marc Messier during the uh broadcast every time stating how bad the Golden Grams defense was all series. So you gotta think that sometime here, Carolina, I'm just I'm sorry, sometime here in the future that this GM for the Vegas, Mr. Arrogant, has to address the defensive issues with the Golden Grams. Now the other thing, the other thing that is a rumor around town and what's going on, is Jack Eichel staying. There's a rumor around that he wants out. Now he just signed an eight-year, $100 million deal two seasons or a season ago. And there's rumors flying around that Jack Eichel wants out of Vegas. He wants to be traded to another team. This is the same Jack Eichel that had was drafted by the Buffalo Savers, had issues up in Buffalo with some kind of injury, wanted the uh Sabres to pay for it, or he didn't want to pay for it, or was it going to be covered by the team? Some kind of issue going on. Red Filth has the whole history on that. He could he got a trade out of Buffalo, he got a trade here to Vegas. Now there's a rumor flying around that he's unhappy here. So uh American gold medal gold medal winner Jack Eichel made one out of Vegas. So we don't know if he's returning. And I'm gonna throw this out there. And I'm I and I know I've had my issues with this player, and I've made fun of this guy on the show before, and I actually went to a game and the guy stuck a hat trick in my face. And of course, that's Mark Stone. I'm telling you right now, I'm telling you right now, as much as I can't stand the guy, I'm telling you, he won't be back with the team next year. There's no way they keep him on the team. The guy is useless. He can't play a full season, he hasn't played a full season in six seasons. Why would you want to be paying a guy on your team a full salary, the money that uh Mark Stone makes, where he can't even play a full season of games? And he's not productive. The only time Mark Stone is productive, and when he when he puts his fat body in front of the goal is able to muscle his way and get a power play goal. Other than that, the guy is useless on the ice. And I think the Golden Grams are gonna get rid of him. They don't stick with their players long, they aren't afraid to move on from guys on the team. So, you know, this general manager, you know, arrogance and the balls he has on him, he has no problem getting rid of guys and making adjustments to his team. So I think he's gonna make that. But that it the hockey season's over, we have a Stanley Cup champion, and you know how the NHL is, oh, they'll be back on the ice in October. So look out for that. The other story I have for you the Brandon Sorsby story. Now, I was gonna I almost did this show yesterday, and then we had the late breaking news about him last night, and we'll top that off at the end of this. So, Brandon Sorsby, of course, anybody who doesn't know, he was a quarterback last year for the Cincinnati Bearcats. He orchestrated, of course, uh transfer portal, NIL deal, and ended up at Texas Tech. Got five million to go to Texas Tech. Now, anybody who's watched Cincinnati last year and Brandon Surz me, okay, eh? Nothing special. Doesn't do anything that sticks out. The one thing that did stick out to me was him mouthing off to the other team when he threw a touchdown pass. You're Cincinnati Bearcats. Who are you mouthing off to? You're in the Big 12. Who are you mouthing off to with that? Well, he went to Texas Tech for five million in NIL money. When he got there, it was found out that he was been gambling on college sports. The whole scandal happened. The college NCA found out about it and suspended him to play for the entire 2026 season. There was a rumors that he was gonna enter the supplemental draft and that he wasn't gonna play at all in college. So there were rumors about him entering the supplemental draft. Then, out of nowhere, a judge grants injunction to the in a in a Soresby hearing, and they make him eligible to play, and he only has to be suspended for the first two games of the collegiate season. Brandon Soresby bet over $90,000 on college sports. He was also sent to uh, of course, you know, classes and uh, you know, where he had to go and talk to somebody about his addiction to betting and gambling on sports. Boy, if only Pete Rose played college football. Right? Here's Brandon Soresby betting $90,000 on college sports. Gets granted by a judge to play back in college football, but only has to be suspended two games. Yeah, Pete Rose bet on sports, and he's banned for the rest of his life from Major League Baseball. Pete Rose gotta be rolling over in his grave right now, listening to this whole story. He's gotta be this, like shaking his head, like unbelievable. Well, the the pressure from Texas Tech and the pressure from the NCAA was getting to Brandon Sorsby, and he kept on not wanting to hear about it. So late last night, Brandon Sorsby announced that he was gonna put himself in the supplemental draft and forgo his college eligibility of being with the Cincinnati Bearcats this season and enter the NFL supplemental draft. So here's the other thing. Think about this. Brandon Sorsby's gonna enter the NFL supplemental draft. How about Calvin Ridley and Jamison Williams? They bet on games, they bet money on football. They were suspended by the NFL. Here's Brandon Soresby doesn't want to be suspended, was gonna be suspended in college, says, screw it, I'm entering the NFL supplemental draft. Does he get a free pass by the NFL? Again, he bet over $90,000 on NFL games. And the NFL might give him a free pass. The NFL is not gonna say, hey, you gotta you gotta abide by everybody else who's coming in the NFL. Yeah, you were betting on football when you were in college. These other guys, Calvin Ridley and Jameson Williams, they bet on football when they were playing on pro teams. But we have to set an example here. The NFL has to suspend Brandon Soresby, whoever particles him in the supplemental draft. And you ask yourself, how does the supplemental draft work? Well, I got that for you right here. Their draft order for the supplemental draft is determined via lottery system based on the previous win-loss records. The draft order is divided into three groups. Tier one, teams with six or fewer wins. Tier two, the rest of the non-playoff teams, and tier three, the 14 playoff teams. The order of each group is randomly selected. If a team is interested in drafting a prospect, they place a bid on that player in a certain round. If multiple teams submit bids on a player in the same round, the team picking first in the order is awarded the player. So that's how the supplemental draft will work for uh Brandon Soresby. Who's gonna take him? Who the hell knows is gonna take the time and make a pick on Brandon Soresby? I mean, what team currently needs another quarterback? Especially a rookie one, and especially a guy with a gambling problem. What team is going to, you know, offer draft picks to pick Brandon Sorsby and put him on their team? Who would be dumb enough to do that? Cleveland Browns? That's the first team that rolls off my tongue that I could think of that would do something stupid like that. How about the Houston Texans? They could take a chance at Brandon Sorsby. CJ Stroud very shaky at the end of last season, shaky in the playoffs? Maybe Brandon Sorsby would put some fire under CJ Stroud. Maybe the Jets take a shot at Brandon Soresby. You know, how long is Geno Smith gonna play in this league? You know, what about Arizona? They got rid of Kyler Murray. They could take a shot with Brandon Sorsby. Maybe they maybe they had Brandon Sorsby on their draft board uh, you know, during the draft process. So you you don't know what what these teams are thinking. You don't know what team is eyeing up Brandon Sorsby and thinking of taking him. Now I bet you Brandon Sorsby now has uh you know like some kind of uh uh mini throw session for some teams. I bet you he goes and has a uh uh a pro day and you know shows off his arm, shows off his legs, shows off his you know, his skill set, shows off his accuracy. You know, maybe Brandon Sorsby goes and does that now uh to get to to try to entice teams to draft him. But again, there could be the possibility. Now he again, he there would be a possibility of him not actually playing. The NFL might suspend him. So teams that are picking him have to have that in the back of their mind. Or will the NFL announce beforehand, before a team picks Brandon Sorsby in this supplemental draft, maybe they might say, hey, this guy's gonna be suspended a few games. So, but again, we don't know what's gonna happen. But man, that whole thing with Brandon Sorsby is just, you know, just wild what has happened with that whole story. From being suspended the whole season to being put back on the team to then being suspended two games to find it out that he bet $90,000 in bets, and now I don't want to deal with what's going on here at Texas Tech. I'm going in the supplemental draft. Whoever talked him into that, man. Man, I hope, I hope a team uh that's uh you know can suit his needs and he'll fit in. I hope he'll go to a team that you know he could actually learn and maybe become a better quarterback and become a better person. But as I said, the World Cup is going on. And boy oh boy, ah, the host is already sick of it. It's on all day. The soccer hooligans are everywhere. Every four years this happens. Every four years, these soccer hooligans come out of the woodwork. You know, which what's that insect that comes out every seven years and makes it oh, the cicada. That's what the soccer hool soccer fans are. They're like cicadas. All of a sudden they come out of nowhere and they're all around you, acting like they're big fans. Acting like they're they're they're you know, soccer is the best thing happening. Now, there's two guys, I'll give this, I'll say this. There's two guys I work with. They talk and watch soccer all year round. Those two guys I work with, they get a pass. They are not soccer hooligans. They can talk about the World Cup all they want, they can talk about the games, and I will not be bothered about by them discussing it in the office. You know why? Because they're true fans of soccer and they can talk about it. But everybody else, you get no pass. I can't wait. I can't wait until there's a game in the afternoon, and you'll get all the fake fans in the office piled in the conference room, acting like they want to watch the game. And the only reason they're in there watching the game in the conference room is because they don't want to work. You know that's gonna happen in our office for those people who listen, who listen to the show here. You know that's gonna happen. All the fake fans are gonna come out of the woodwork and end up going in there and watching the game. They're like cicadas. You don't hear anything about soccer in the United States. No one cares about soccer in the United States. World Cup shows up, oh, I'm a big fan, let me wrap myself around in my USA flag, let me wrap myself around in my Mexico flag, let me wrap myself around in my Korean flag. You get all these fans out of nowhere. They're crazy, these people. That's why they're called soccer hooligans. Now, you can bet on it on the William Hill. And I'll say the host and the guest have uh, you know, dipped in for a little taste of the soccer. Boy, it's a hard, believe it or not, with the games the way they are, and you know, there's just so much scoring. Uh, you know, it is hard to bet. It is a hard sport to bet. Um, if you're looking for a nice nap in the afternoon or you're looking to go to bed early, just put the soccer game on. I mean, you'll fall right to sleep because nothing's going on. Nothing happens in a soccer game. Yet, allegedly, they got the biggest fans. It's the greatest sport in the world. But it's the most boring sport. I'd rather watch bocce ball. I'd rather watch the World Championship bocce ball going on than watching a soccer match. Is there wiffle ball on? I'd rather watch wiffle ball than a soccer match. And I know there's guys that have kids that play soccer and they go and sit there and watch the games every weekend, and some kids are on travel teams, and you know, it's soccer's a big sport for kids. Why is it when we get adults that we don't care about it anymore? Nobody watches it. Yeah, it's the biggest thing around here now. The only thing good about the World Cup, the the only thing good right now about the World Cup, that it's on and it's talked about, and when it's all over, NFL training camp starts. And then we'll be into football. And we won't hear from soccer again for another four years. We won't hear about it anymore. That's it. It'll be gone, the hooligans will be shipped out, and you won't hear a thing about soccer again. And then you'll hear, you know, little tidbits here and there, you know, who's on Team USA and all that, but then after that, it just goes away again. The cicadas go to sleep, and everything is peaceful again. No more soccer. So, you know, that's the one thing to look forward to with the World Cup is that when it's over, it's gonna be NFL training camp time. And you know what that means. Speaking of NFL training camp, we have to move in to our over and unders once again. Now, we first started off with the AFC South. We went through all those teams. If you have if you didn't get to hear those predictions, go back to episode 554, go back to episode 553. You can hear two teams each from the AFC South that the host gave his prediction on. So, usually I like to mix it up. And I'm gonna go right to the AFC North. That is gonna be my second division I'm gonna do. And you know what? I'm gonna start off with the host team, the Pittsburgh Steelers. Their 2,025 record was 10-7. Their new head coach is Mike McCarthy. Their leading QB is Aaron Rodgers, 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns, seven interceptions. Their leading receiver is DK Metcalf, 59 receptions, 850 yards and six touchdowns. Their leading running back was Jalen Warden, 958 yards with three touchdowns. Their leading sacker, Alex Highsmith, had 9.5 sacks. Their leading tackler was Patrick Wilson with 126. They had the 25th ranked offense and the 26th ranked defense with the most expensive defense in the NFL. The odds to win the division plus 550. The odds to win the conference plus 3,300. The odds to win the Super Bowl plus 7,000. Their 2,026 over and under is 8.5. Plus 118 to the over, minus 140 to the under. Their 2,025 over and under was 8.5. The host predicted them to go 8-9. Another loss for the host because of course they were 10 and 7. That makes the host 1-4 in his 2025 over and under. The key additions, Michael Pittman Jr. in a trade. Rico Dow, two years, $12.5 million deal. And James Deal from Tampa Bay, three years, $36 million at $7.5 deal. Their key departures, Calvin Austin III, left to sign with the Giants. Kenneth Gainwell, Miles Kilbrew, their awesome special teams guy, and Isaac Salmell, a guard. They drafted Max, I don't even know how to say this guy's name, an offensive tackle, Jermaine Bernard, receiver, and Drew Aller, their QB, their schedule. And here we go with the host 2026 prediction of the Pittsburgh Steelers. They open up at home against Atlanta. Win. They traveled to New England. Same thing they did last year in the second week. Traveling to New England. They happen to win that game last year. I'm going to give them a loss this year. Cincinnati at home, win. At Cleveland on Thursday night football. At Cleveland again for another Thursday night game. This is the third year in a row, loss. Indianapolis at home, win. At Tampa Bay, loss. At New Orleans, but that game's in Paris, France, win. Cleveland at home, win. Bye. Cincinnati on Sunday night football. Loss. At lost. They haven't won in Philadelphia since 1962. Denver on Black Friday at home. Loss. Houston at home on Sunday night football. Loss. At Jacksonville, Monday night football. Win. Baltimore at home. Win. Carolina at home. Win. At Tennessee, win. At Baltimore, last game of the season, loss. I got Pittsburgh going 9-8. That would be over the 8.5. That would be plus 118 to the over for the 2026 Pittsburgh Steelers. I've discussed many, many times on this show over the last month and a half about these Pittsburgh Steelers. I'm not going to go in depth here. You know my reasonings. You know what my thoughts are. You've been listening to this show. I don't like the Mike McCarthy hire. I don't like bringing Aaron Rodgers back. I just wish this team would have just started over. I wish they would have traded TJ Watt. I wish they would have traded Alex Highsmith. But they didn't do any of that. Now they're coming back with the same team, which is a different head coach who's more offensive-minded. Will the offense be more exciting? I don't know. Aaron Rodgers is 42 years old. Don't ask me. Ask Aaron if he's gonna get along with Mike McCarthy. But that's my prediction for the 2026 Pittsburgh CR. Our second team that we're doing in the AFC North on this show. The Cincinnati Bengals. Now, I've made over and under predictions for the Cincinnati Bengals the last five seasons. I'm 0-5 getting their over and under right. I always pick the over on this team because of Joe Burrow, but Joe Burrow constantly gets hurt. Their 2025 record was 6-11. Their head coach is Zach Taylor, the only head coach in the AFC North to remain from all the head coaches last year. Their QB, of course, last year, their leading QB, who only played half the games, was Joe Burrow, 1,809 yards, 17 touchdowns, 5 interceptions. Their leading receiver, Jamar Chase, 1,412 yards with eight touchdowns. Their leading running back is Chase Brown, 1,019 yards with six touchdowns. Leading sacker, Miles Murphy, 5.5. Their leading tackler was Jordan Battle with 125. Their offensive rank was 17. Their defensive rank was 31st. Their odds to win the division plus 190. Their odds to win the conference plus 1,100. Odds to win the Super Bowl plus 2200. Their 2026 over and under is 9.5. Minus 150 to the over, plus 126 to the under. Last year, their over and under was 10.5. The host had 11 and 6. Boo! Another loss for the host. He starts off the 2025 over and under is at 1-5, folks. Their key additions is Jonathan Allen, Boy Amafa, Joe Flacco resigning, a trade for Dexter Lawrence from the New York Jets at signing offensive lineman Orlando Brown. Their key departures, of course, is Trey Hendrickson, who jumped ship and went to the Baltimore Ravens. Jalen Davis, they drafted Kaskas Howell, an edge rusher, Takario Davis, a cornerback, and Connor Lewis center. Now here's their schedule. And again, this whole schedule is based on, I'm basing this on if Joe Burrow is gonna play a full season. They open up the season home against Tampa Bay, win. At Houston, loss. At Pittsburgh, loss. Jacksonville at home, win. At Miami, win. They have a bye. At Baltimore, loss. Tennessee at home, win. At Atlanta, deck games in Spain, loss. Pittsburgh at home on Sunday night football, win. At Washington on Monday night football, win. New Orleans at home, win. At Cleveland, loss. Kansas City at home, win. At Carolina loss. At Indianapolis loss. Baltimore, Thursday night football, home, win. Cleveland at home to wrap up the season, win. I'm doing it again, folks. I got Cincinnati going 10 and 7. One of these years I gotta get the over on this team. One of these years I gotta get the win. Again, this whole season for Cincinnati is gonna fall upon Joe Burrow. And probably Jamar Chase and T. Higgins. T. Higgins suffered some injuries. He missed some time last year. Jamar Chase didn't. Now they did get rid of Trey Hendrickson, who was injured all last year. They did draft that edge rusher. So he may come in and be an impact right away, Kaskis Howell. He may come in and wreck some havoc for that team. They did draft a lot of defensive guys in the draft. Their defense was ranked 31st. If their defense can improve, let's just say, I'm not asking the Cincinnati Bengals to improve, you know, drastically defensively. Say they go from 31st to 22, they get some turnovers with their new defensive players, Joe Burrow stays healthy, they can move the football with Joe Burrow. This team, they can easily get the 10 wins. They can easily get the 10 wins and be a 10-17. Especially with that schedule. Look at some of the teams on this schedule. Atlanta, Cleveland twice, New Orleans, Tennessee. There's some teams on this schedule that they can easily take care of. And I think they can get the 10 wins. They always have a hard time with Baltimore. They could split with Baltimore. The prize split with the Steelers. If they beat Cleveland twice, that's four wins right there. Four wins right there. Plus Atlanta. Saints. Tennessee, that's seven. Carolina, that's eight. They just have to win two of these other games against harder teams. I think Cincinnati can do that if Joe Burrow remains healthy and the offense. So I think that I'll be, I think they'll be right in there. I think they can do it. I think Cincinnati will get over. And that is my prediction for the Cincinnati Bengals. So that is my two AFC North teams to start off. Of course, we still have Cleveland and the Baltimore Ravens to left to do on this show. Now that's all I want to do because I'm starting to melt here out here in the Audi Mobile Studios. It's 112 degrees out here. Remember, I I teased, I teased this on the last show.
