Hello and welcome to SI Voices, where we give a global voice to women and girls.
Today you’re listening to Allie and Sarah from the Communications team at Soroptimist International (SI) HQ, and we’re going to introduce you to our exciting new podcast series, SI Voices, where we look to celebrate and rediscover the history of this global movement, whilst educating and informing on many of the key challenges affecting women and girls today.
SI Voices will launch on the 3rd October this year, Soroptimist International Founders Day, as part of our exciting 100 year celebrations. Since 1921 SI has educated, empowered and enabled women and girls through its pioneering on-the-ground projects, delivered by more than 70,000 Soroptimists in 121 countries around the world. Our advocacy work takes place at 7 United Nations centres where a team of UN Representatives advocate for equity and equality, for women and girls, and human rights for all.
We’re really excited to be launching SI Voices. Each podcast will be hosted by a fabulous Soroptimist, who will be joined by some incredible guest speakers and experts, and other Soroptimists, partners and friends; giving you the low down on a huge range of subject matters delving deep into tough topics whilst exploring our bright past through the eyes of many inspired Soroptimists, together with putting UN policies and best practice under the microscope, and so much more.
SI Voices will be a space where women’s stories and experiences are heard as we celebrate 100 years of our remarkable organisation. So please do join us as we embark on our podcast journey.
