The Ramblings of an Insomniac
Can’t sleep? Neither can I! This podcast is a peek inside my head. My crazy, sleep deprived brain. The rambling conversations I have with myself that keep me awake at night.
I use my IPHONE. I walk around, rambling into it. Wondering around my property, neighborhood or wherever.
You hear everything. My dogs, coyotes, crickets, birds. You hear unedited, life. You never know, who or what may interrupt?
I keep my opinions, emotions and my podcast, uncensored . I discuss politics, government, mental health, addiction, family, love, dog training, America…life. I talk things out. Working my life out in real time with an audience. Or at least, I HOPE?
Look, this is NOT a professional podcast. It’s poor quality. My intro and outdo music somehow, faded into the ether? I had both. Now they’re gone. This podcast is not for the faint of heart. If you need safe rooms, I may not be your gal?
You will either like it? Or not? I hope you like it? Only one way to find out…

What’s been keeping me up at night? INSANITY!!! Crazy, psycho people running around causing havoc! Not just crazy people but those that follow, support and ENCOURAGE the crazy! What has this world come to? It’s sad. We’ve become jaded.
And now, people are making videos rejoicing in violent and psychotic behavior. It’s TRENDY to scream, abuse, destroy and assassinate. How is violence trending?
Hello, and welcome to another episode of the Ramblings of an Insomniac. I am Courtney. Good morning, good afternoon, and good evening to everybody out there. I hope you guys are having or had a wonderful, wonderful day. And I feel like I've accomplished not a whole lot. However, I have got some things done. I've I've managed to achieve some stuff. I have achieved some things, but not as much as I would have liked to. I'm kind of, I don't know. I'm feeling a bit sad. I found out that a dog that I used to care for that really had a hard time with a lot of humans. And the owner of the dog and I really bonded because their dog happened to pretty much only like me and them. And so we bonded because I just fell in love two of their dogs. They used to rescue dogs that were um had a lot of issues that maybe had a hard time with people because they were aggressive or incredibly shy, or maybe they had some type of disability. And I loved, I do still love, I love, love, love this person. She just she's got the biggest heart. She's like me. She loves things that no one else seems to love. She loves the grumpy, she loves the hard to handle, she loves the sassy, the salty, and you know, the dogs that may be disabled or elderly, or you know, have a little sass to them, or maybe seem grumpy. And I'm kind of, well, I'm not kind of, I'm I am the same way. I have a heart, like I always talk about in almost all of my episodes. I like to figure out what makes people tick, you know? Why do people behave the way they do? What makes people behave the way they do? I've just always liked to figure that out. And um so she first had a dog that was just incredibly, incredibly, extraordinarily shy. And her dog and I somehow just bonded, and her name was River, and I just loved her. And she passed away and it broke my heart. Well, then she had another dog and also a little chihuahua. She had two dogs, and they both, I guess the chihuahua used to bite the bejeebs out of everybody. But he and I just got along, and then she had another dog who was just scared to death of everybody. And it took a while for her dog and I to um for her to come to me on a consistent basis. Um but then she did. And so um I just found out today, in fact, right before I started this podcast, um, that she passed away. And again, I'm just I'm just tired, you guys. I'm tired of good people and animals passing away. Why do animals there are, I think more animals should live than Fauci. I think there are far more animals that should live than Lindsay. What's her name that I can never remember the name of because I think subconsciously I don't want to say her name because I don't want to give her the fame and the glory that she seems to somehow be getting, which is disgusting and boggling my brain. It is it is insane to me that there are humans out there that are supporting uh Lindsay. Lindsay, what's her face, Kramer, I I don't know, I don't care. Um, I keep forgetting her name because I again I think subconsciously I'm genuinely not remembering her name because I do not want people to give her attention. You can support education on postpartum depression, you can support education on mental illness, on psychosis, on you know, a lot of things. You can support getting educated on those things. You can support better health care, better mental health care. Those are great things to support. But I am seeing videos of women recording themselves waterboarding their children and harming their children, their babies, their infants in some fashion, and doing it to be like, look, look, I'm not doing anything. This isn't a big deal. It's somehow becoming trendy to harm your children. And this is a very, very, this is a select group of people that do this. Um, it's people with mental illnesses, obviously, with severe mental illnesses, and it's also people that seem to think it's trendy to, it's the same people that think it's trendy to eat Tide Pods. And do you remember those people that were like going around? There really was a group of people that were going around licking toilet seats when COVID first started. I'm not joking you look it up, I'm sure the videos are still out there. There were people licking toilet seats when COVID first came out. These kind of people, I when will Darwin take over? Why are these people still around, but Dolly Parton and Bob Sagitt and good people are no longer with us? I don't understand why millions of humans on earth, elderly and young and middle-aged, from all ages, from all walks of life, that are good, kind, hardworking, great people, or innocent children seem to pass away. But meanwhile, evil assholes seem to just live eternity for eternity, and they seem to live good lives. And yet animals die. I have more compassion. I'll swerve out of the way for an animal. But let me tell you, if you're a certain group of people, I'm not gonna want to swerve out of the way. I mean, because I have a conscience, because I have morals, I won't intentionally hit you. But I'm gonna want to, I'm not gonna lie, that it's gonna be hard for me to break. It's gonna be hard for me to swerve. An animal, I will go out of my way. My kids get mad at me because they're like, mom, you're gonna end up getting us hurt. And of course, I don't want my family to get hurt. I'm not gonna put my family in jeopardy over an animal. But um I care more about the safety of a lot of animals than I do about certain groups of people out there. I'm that's just me being honest. I'm being completely honest. If you want to think I'm a horrible person, that's okay. Um, maybe I am. Maybe that makes me terrible. I'm not gonna apologize for it. It's how I feel, unfortunately. There are there are animals that I think deserve to live over many humans out there. I don't think that's a terrible thing to say. Have you seen what humans are doing? Have you seen the videos that are out there? There's a lot of disgusting, disturbing videos. I mean, after Charlie Kirk was assassinated, people were making videos rejoicing in his assassination, not only rejoicing in his assassination, but making um reenactment videos. There were people doing plays, getting up on stage, reenacting, and doing entire skits about his assassination and laughing about it, thinking it's funny. Do you you realize he has children and the internet is forever, and those are going to be on the internet forever, and his kids could stumble upon him. You realize his children are innocent. Like Charlie Kirk, he was also innocent. And those of you that would like to take the time, although you won't, because you don't want to be proven wrong, and you don't want to be ashamed of yourself, and you don't want to realize that you are a disgrace to society and you are subhuman garbage, you are a monster for rejoicing and celebrating and doing a reactment, a reenactment video of someone innocent that was good, being assassinated on live television in front of everybody, live, assassinated for his opinion. Trying to use communication and talking and education as a way to build a bridge between all races and religions and just people. And if you took the time to actually watch unedited little short clips that are posted on TikTok that are completely, completely out of context and are edited and pieced together to make it look like he's saying and doing things that he never ever said and never did, if you actually took the time to watch his videos, you would be proven wrong if you think that he's a racist. You would be proven completely wrong and hopefully be embarrassed that you didn't watch these videos before you ran your mouth and started, you know, rejoicing in his assassination. Although, you know, I can't stand AOC. I can't stand Kamala Harris or Joe Biden. But if they were assassinated, I'm not going to rejoice and I'm not going to do our reenactment video. I'm not going to shed a tear either. I'm not going to be sad either. I admit that. There will not be a single tear shed. I will not be sad at all. I will be sad for their family. I will certainly feel sad for their family. And I will certainly feel bad for those that did like those people. But you will never see me rejoicing and doing a video reenacting their death. Especially if it was an assassination, especially if it was a person like Charlie who did nothing wrong, who was an actual good person. It wasn't like it was Hitler. Might be a little different if it were Hitler, considering he, you know, unalived so many people, considering the length of horrific things he has done to human life, to humans. Charlie Kirk was not in that category. And for people to try to put him in that category makes you a moron, an uneducated moron that obviously just likes to be a lemming and follow what everybody else is doing, like these women getting on social media, filming themselves, abusing their children, and somehow thinking this is a cool trend, like eating Tide Pots. These people need Darwin to step in. We don't need Dolly taken away. We don't need all of the good animals taken away. We need these idiots taken away. And I realize these idiots may be your personal family members. But if your personal family members are making videos, doing graphic, disgusting reenactment videos of someone's assassination, well, you didn't raise a very good human, did you? You maybe you tried. Maybe you tried. Maybe you did everything you could and you did all the right things and you read the right handbook, and your child still turned out like garbage. That happens. Trust me, I know that that happens. It does. But you really are a piece of trash. It's coming up on the anniversary of Charlie Kirk's assassination, and there's probably going to be disgusting, disturbing people that get on the internet and do more reenactment videos. And you just don't see that from Republicans. You don't. You do not see these things. And I hear people all the time that like to say that Christians force people into their religion. No, I would like to see videos of that. I see Christians asking and inviting, inviting people to come to their church and worship if they want to. I will see Christians gathering on corners holding up signs saying, God is love, Jesus is King, God bless America, I love Jesus, pray for America, stuff like that. But what I don't see are Christians going around conquering and screaming and yelling and unaliving people all in the sake of their God and forcing women and children to come to church. Now there may be parents whose minor children live with them, and they ask that their minor children that live with them go to church every Sunday. And maybe those kids don't like going to church every Sunday. That may be considered force to some of you, but the same thing could be said on when kids don't want to go to school or don't want to eat their broccoli or don't want to take a bath or brush their teeth. Maybe it is force. But you're not harming them, you're not hurting them, you're not abusing them. So until they become 18 and live on their own, um, if you want to call it force, because a mom and a dad are, or two moms or two dads, whatever your case may be, are um asking and requiring the child to go to church every Sunday. Well, okay, you can you can try to make that argument. I think it's a silly one because your child is a minor and most parents aren't doing it under, you know, being violent about it. But you can find whack jobs of all religions, of all races, of both genders. You know, you're gonna find a whack job in all corners of the world. There's not a city among us that doesn't have a weirdo, that doesn't have an insane person. There's always gonna be a racist. Racists are come in all shapes and sizes and colors and backgrounds. Racists are liberals and Democrats and Republicans, and black and white, and Latino, and Hispanic, and Asian, and fat and skinny, and short and tall, and man and woman, and Christian and atheist and Catholic. Hate comes in all shapes and sizes, so does racism, and unfortunately, so does hate. You know, we're not again, we're not perfect. Nobody is perfect. There isn't a race out there that's perfect, there's not a religion out there that's perfect. There is not a gender, sexual orientation. Um there's nobody is perfect. And it's amazing to me that we have these expectations that people should walk on water. And it's even more asinine to me that people think celebrities walk on water, and that somehow what celebrities have to say is more important and more enlightened and more educated than anyone else. Why? What gives them that education that no one else has? What gives them that credit that no one else has? They are humans. They are humans with a job that pays a lot of money because for some reason we're willing to pay a lot for tickets to go see a movie, and we're willing to pay a lot for tickets to see a concert and for t-shirts, and so they get paid a lot. But why is it that because they get paid more, because they make more money, it means somehow, in certain people's eyes, that they know all. They have all the answers, like Oprah and Taylor Swift just have the key to life. They understand the meaning of life and have all the answers? I don't think so. Why do we give them that credit? I mean, I'm not gonna lie, there are people that if I saw in front of me, standing in front of me, I might be a little starstruck, of course. But I don't think that they know more. I don't follow, if someone were to say something, even if it was a star that I like Keanu Reeves, I respect Keanu Reeves. He seems to me, I've never met him, I don't know what he's like in person, but he seems to be a very good, well-rounded, nice guy. But even Keanu Reeves, just because Keanu Reeves says something, in my eyes doesn't make it true. I question God all the time. So of course I'm going to question the normal human person. If I question God, I question if there's a God. I don't know if there's a God or not. I never said I was Christian. I talk about God, but I even talk to God and say, I don't know if you exist. Here are some questions I have. Here are some things that don't make sense to me. However, I also don't think that, you know, we're the only things here. We can't be the only things here. There's got to be some higher power. There's got to be something else. But I don't know what that is. So if I'm going to question that, my point is if I'm going to question God, I'm going to question a normal human. I'm certainly not going to think that if, you know, Keanu Reeves, again, as much as I respect him and think he seems like one of the only people in Hollywood that's not a piece of crap, he seems like one in a very small, small handful of Hollywood stars that aren't pieces of junk. But I'm still not going to just listen to someone just because they say it. I'm going to do my own research. I feel like that's something that we all should do, you know? But I don't know when it became cool to just be violent. It's like being violent and setting things on fire and assassinating things and mutilating things and aborting things, and now all of a sudden we're standing up for serial killer mother who unalived three of her children. We're standing up for that now. We stood up for Carmelo Anthony. And we're standing up for a mother and claiming that because she had postpartum depression, that we're gonna be okay with her unaliving three of her children. Again, you can absolutely stand up for people educating themselves on what postpartum depression is, what it looks like. We can talk about mental illness and how it definitely needs to be addressed a lot sooner, and people need to get help a lot sooner and have access to mental health a lot sooner. And we can talk about our healthcare system, and we can support, you know, having better mental and health care systems and easier access and stuff to those things without supporting a psychotic mother. And then people getting online and following suit because it's somehow trendy. The things that are trendy now are scary and frightening. The fact that people now just go up and shove elderly people down and beat up elderly people like it's nothing. It's because, again, social media, everyone does things on social media, so no one seems to think that humans are made of actual flesh and bones, that we are real. We're not just some behind the screen thing that you can unplug and then plug back in again, and we come back to life. You know, like Eminem says, life is no Nintendo game. You don't get a second, you don't get a second chance, life is no Nintendo game. I I don't understand why people people do not, I do understand actually. I started to say I don't understand why nobody values life anymore, but I do understand why, because everyone's behind a screen now. No one looks anyone in the eyes anymore, no one touches anyone anymore, no one holds value to life anymore because it's now been made okay by certain groups of people to just unalive everything we disagree with, to mutilate things that we don't like. That's just common now. That's just what we do now. No big deal. We just bully things and threaten things and censor things now that we have a problem with that may hurt our little feelings. Because apparently we're petite dewdrops that can't handle life. And for some reason, life revolves around us and what we want. We don't give a shit about anybody else's feelings or what bothers anyone else or what hurts anyone else or what other people think. No, no, no, no, no, no. It's all about me, me, me, I, me, I. We're just so desensitized and jaded that it's it's disgusting, actually. It's it scares me how desensitized people are now. What the things that people are just okay with, it boggles my mind. I don't like my grandkids growing up in the world today. It's so um it's heartless. And I don't want to focus on the heartless. I want to focus on the good because I sat here and watched a bunch of videos today that were feel-good videos of people helping each other, of this 75-year-old man whose house was falling apart, and this these people came along and redid the siding and the roof for free. And I was watching shows like that because I needed it. I was like, God, I have got to believe that mankind hasn't just completely collapsed. I have to hold on to any amount of good that I see because I don't see a lot of it anymore. It seems I have to look hard, and I don't want to have to look so hard for the good, for the happy, for the positive. That's sad. So I've been surrounding myself. I am I am dog sitting, and the dog that I am watching, and I have been outside watching hummingbirds and the birds, and just listening to the noise of the neighborhood and trying to focus on the the bumblebees and just the small good happy things. Because man, what else are you gonna do if you just keep focusing on the negative? We have to be part of the solution, not part of the problem. And if we're not gonna help, then at the very least, it long as long as we're not contributing to the chaos. If we're not gonna help um with the chaos, as long as we're not contributing to it, at least that's a step forward. I don't know though. One thing I can focus on that's awesome is the fact, like I said, I have over 10,000 downloads for my podcast. So what whoop whoop, that is pretty freaking awesome. I it just makes me so ecstatic to know that I've had 10,000 downloads. That's been a long time coming. I've been waiting for that number for a while. So thank you so much for getting me there. It makes me so happy. I want to do the happy dance. Um, if you would like to stop by my clapper, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, um, YouTube, any of those, I would love it if you would like and subscribe, watch those videos. That would help a girl out. I would appreciate it so, so very much. Um, what else? Um, those are some things. This is probably gonna be a pretty short little podcast. I just have been thinking about just the fact that I've been crying over, like I said, a dog that I found out has passed away. And it just made me think of people that have passed away, like my mom and my dad that needlessly passed away for no reason, and just so many things. And then I was like, Courtney, I cannot do this to myself. I have got to pull myself out of it. So I started watching, you know, like I said, funny dog videos and just heartwarming videos of people helping each other and trying to remember what it was like when World Cup was here and everybody was loving America. And now that they've left, now that people from other countries have left, notice all the Democrats again are like meh meh meh, I hate. I hate, I hate miserable, miserable hate. Everything sucks. I'm miserable, everything's miserable, we're all miserable, misery, just meh. You know, it's so fucking annoying. Just annoying. Stop. I wish to God that the people that hate this country and bitch about this country would switch places with those that want to be here so bad. Those that would give anything to live in America, that appreciate it, that were here and they were just awestruck and they were more patriotic than certain groups of people that live here. I wish instead of doing wife swap, I wish we could do country swap. And we can just swap with all of those assholes that don't want to be here and swap with the ones that do. But then we'd have illegal immigrants, but hey, maybe we could somehow do a quick little paperwork fill out and be like bing bang boom, you're a legal citizen, and then get them to be legal citizens of the other country, and we'll just swap countries. We'll do country swap. That'd be fantastic. Man, that'd be great. Because I'm tired of it. I'm so tired of listening to the bitching and moaning moaning by people that don't have anything to bitch and moan about. They have nothing to complain about, but that doesn't stop them from doing it. I need my mind cleared. This is why I hang out with animals. People are just exhausting, you know? Animals are not. They don't care about all this crap either. Right, Gracie? Yeah. Yep. I know. See? Anyway, thank you so much. I genuinely appreciate every single person listening to me. I know that I can be boring as hell. I know sometimes I can be off the rails. Sometimes I'm crying. Sometimes I'm, you know, raising my voice. Sometimes I sound so monotone, I probably put you to sleep. Like today. I feel like today was one of those where it's like, Snoozville, I'm I'm a little too monotone. I need to work on like getting fired up because otherwise it's a little boring. It's a little monotone. I don't know what to do to jazz it up. I guess I need to snort some coke or something. I don't know, just wiping it up. Just kidding, you guys. I'm not gonna snort Coke. Don't go thinking that. Um, just kidding. Anyway, thank you so much. Um, I'm not always boring, you know. I'm like again, sometimes I've got probably too much sass, but today I'm just kind of ugly. I'm just this is what happens when I'm disgusted. When I'm disgusted by humans, I get kind of just, I either get real fired up or I get blah, like today. So I'm sorry if I put you to sleep. Unless you wanted to go to sleep. Maybe you were tired and you needed to go to sleep. And maybe that's why you put my podcast on, because I bore you so much, I put you to sleep. Hey, whatever works. I'm just ecstatic that you're listening to my podcast for whatever reason that may be. Thank you so much. I hope you continue to do it. Until next time.
