Our seventh guest of the series is Ben Lamb, a leading consultant urological and robotic surgeon at Barts Health NHS Trust and University College London Hospital specialising in prostate cancer and robotic prostatectomy.
He leads on cancer multidisciplinary teams and system improvement, with a particular interest in how MDTs can make safer, faster and more consistent decisions for patients.
Widely reputed as the seventh most podcastable urologist in the UK, his career has, by his own admission, been a series of fortunate accidents - you'll hear more about these throughout this episode. Ben also touches on his research and quality improvement work focus on team working, leadership and practical changes that help complex cancer services run more smoothly.
On a lighter note, Ben chats to our hosts about his hobbies outside of the theatre, including powerlifting, learning acoustic guitar (and aspirations to learn Wonderwall by Oasis) and, most of all, spending time with his family.
