So the first thing you can expect when you stop drinking for a month are changes to your weight. For some people, they're going to lose a bit of weight. For some people, they might gain a bit of weight, but good weight. The second thing you can expect is increased clarity. You're able to think through things clearer. The third thing you can expect are better energy levels. You're usually waking up feeling a lot more energetic. And the fourth thing you can expect is true peace of mind. But if sitting here and talking to you about all the good things that will happen to you when you stop drinking alcohol for a month was actually going to help you, then we can end the video right here. But I'm actually going to go to a totally different level in this video today. The goal of this video is not to sell you on stopping drinking for a month. The goal of this video is different. It's to actually help you make this a real change, a sustainable change. So, whilst I could go on and tell you 300 benefits of stopping drinking, there's already 500 videos on the internet about this.
Speaker 1:What I'm going to do is I'm actually going to give you the real, raw truth of what you can expect in the first 30 days of stopping drinking. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. I'm not going to persuade you to stop drinking. See, I'm going to teach you a totally different way to tackle this issue altogether. And why can I talk to you about this? Well, I myself haven't drank for almost seven years. I'm the founder of a coaching company called SoberClearcom, and I've worked with hundreds upon hundreds of people helping them go through this exact same thing. So I'm almost like on the front lines when it comes to this topic, and I have seen so many people go through this first 30-day period that I'm going to show you some things that you might never have even considered before.
Speaker 1:So, whilst I've already made I don't know 700 videos talking about not drinking alcohol, I've made videos talking about the science of what happens to your body when you stop drinking for 30 days, this video is going to be different because it's going to be applicable. It's going to be applicable. It's going to be stuff that you can actually use to help you make this change permanent. And you might not be ready to make it a permanent change just yet, but just watch this video all the way through, because this might just be the missing piece in your mindset. So the first thing that we actually need to look at is how hard will this actually be? Is this going to be a really difficult thing? And it's going to be this month of just fighting the urge to not drink. But then there are millions of people out there that say stopping drinking is the easiest thing they've ever done in their life. In fact, they say it's as easy as making a sandwich or taking the mail from your mailbox. So what's the difference between these two groups of people? Well, it all boils down to your mindset and how you tackle this problem. See, I told you this video wasn't going to be your typical stop drinking yay, more energy. See, I did warn you.
Speaker 1:I'm not just going to sit here and tell you about the good things that are going to happen when you stop drinking. I want to be realistic when you start this journey. If you start with a frame of mind that you're giving something up, that you're truly making a sacrifice, and if you believe that alcohol adds immense value to you in your life, guess what's going to happen? It is going to be hell. You're going to look at other people that drink and you are going to feel this sense of missing out when a friend sends you a text saying do you want to go to a restaurant? And you see them have a glass of wine or whatever. If you haven't changed the way that you view alcohol and you still see alcohol as something that enhanced your life, you will sit there and it will suck. However, if you have successfully changed the way that you view alcohol and you have stopped seeing it as something that adds value to your life, then 30 days of not drinking alcohol will just be as easy as making a sandwich, because it's a logical, effortless choice. And you start to look at people that drink and you think why would I want to do that Now?
Speaker 1:Reframing the way that you view alcohol is a totally another topic, but if you actually want to learn how to do that, then if you click the link in the description, you can access a free video training. You'll just click the link. Put your name and email address in and then a video training will start playing that shows you how to reframe the way that you view alcohol and that makes stopping drinking feel like the flick of a switch in your brain. And this is actually what my company does. It helps people go through this reframing process. We recently commissioned an academic psychologist to go through our method and if you go on Google Scholar and you search sober clear system, you'll actually find the scientific report. But reframing the way that you view alcohol changes the game. So if you want more information on that, just go and watch the video training down below. There's six 700 videos on this YouTube channel talking about how to do it.
Speaker 1:But I just want to be realistic with you. If you start this 30 day thing or whatever it is that you're trying to do, if you start it looking at people that drink alcohol, thinking that you're missing out on something, it will suck. If you see those people as taking a drug that does nothing for you, I'm telling you you'll almost start looking at people as though they're drinking bleach. Anyway, let's get into the first few days. Let's just say you've either reframed how you view alcohol or you haven't and you've stopped anyway, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 1:Either way, it can feel kind of strange. I'm not going to lie. It's not just like you stop drinking alcohol and then all of a sudden you're waking up, you're feeling refreshed. That's it, problem solved. It doesn't really work like that. Usually it'll be somebody that's stopped drinking for 30 days. They'll look back and they'll just think about the good things that have happened, because it is an amazing change. Good things will happen, but I think a lot of people forget what it was really like. So what you can expect is things just might feel a little bit off, almost like something's missing.
Speaker 1:If you've read any popular stop drinking books, they'll always talk about this adjustment period and it's a real thing. But this all depends on how long you've drank, how much you've drank, how severe the addiction is. There are people out there that need to do this with medical supervision. Let's not downplay that. But for most of us it's just this weird feeling. And here's one way to describe this feeling. Imagine you've had a family member or a friend that's come to stay with you for three weeks and you're waking up. You're used to them being there, you sit, you have breakfast together, you have your coffee together, you're hanging out, and then that friend or family member then just leaves. And then you wake up the next day and you feel like this weird feeling of like something's not quite right and that feeling is your friend is gone and that's kind of how it feels when you stop drinking. It just doesn't feel quite right and I want to let you know that that is totally normal, it's totally okay. Now that strange feeling will go away, but it's going to be replaced with something else, which will be replaced with something else. So make sure to just stay tuned to the very end of the video.
Speaker 1:But after this adjustment period is, we can just go on this high. So you got to think right when you drink you, when you drink, you kind of feel like this, and then when you stop drinking, it kind of goes like this You're up and down, some days you feel good, some days you don't feel good, and then you reach this turning point where all of a sudden it's like I feel like the old me is back, and this happened in the first maybe three or four days Like I was just like oh, fire Others. It might take a couple of weeks, but you'll reach this turning point where that's when the benefits start flooding in and, like I said, different people will experience this at different points, but that's when you start having this amazing sleep again. That's when you start feeling that true clarity All the things that I was talking about in the beginning of the video. They do happen, but you need to actually be very careful of these benefits. Now that's going to sound strange, but I'll explain that in a minute.
Speaker 1:But a lot of people will go on this emotional high and it's fine. There's nothing wrong with this. But I want to be realistic. That emotional high will not last. What is happening is when you drink alcohol is your emotions are down here. And when you stop drinking alcohol and you kind of finish that adjustment period, you'll feel kind of up here. And because you have this really severe point of contrast of how crap you felt when you drank compared to how good you feel when you don't drink, the memory in your mind of what it was like when you drank is really clear. So of course, you're going to feel so much better than you did. But what ends up happening is, eventually, that feeling will just start to flatline and this now just becomes your new normal. And when it becomes your new normal. Guess what happens? Well, it's not like all of a sudden you're looking in the mirror with a six pack. All of a sudden, your business is fixed, your marriage is fixed. Sure, you're going to feel better, but eventually that will just feel normal to you. And I wanted to warn you of this, because it's not like you stop drinking alcohol and then, all of a sudden, all your problems go away. You have to face life and we're going to start talking about the emotional side of things in a minute, because this is so important. But just because you've stopped drinking alcohol, it does not mean that all of your problems are going to go away.
Speaker 1:When I drank alcohol, I'd basically destroyed my life. I destroyed my personal training business, I was borrowing money off my family. I was living in my friend's place because I ran out of money. Listen, long story short is sure. I stopped drinking alcohol, I felt great, but then, all of a sudden, it was like reality. I'm looking in the mirror, I'm still overweight, I'm still bloated, and you have to come to peace with that. Your life might not be where you want it to be. That might be what's motivated you to even make this change in the first place, and guess what that is going to hit you. But that's why I wanted to warn you of this, because when it happens, you're going to be ready. So let's really talk about sustaining this change and this is why the first part of the video was so important and for me to talk about.
Speaker 1:You know, the reframing of alcohol. Now, what will have happened by this point is that you'll have reached that new natural baseline. You'll be feeling good and then reality hits and at that point you will be presented with a choice. If you still see alcohol as a solution to your problems, as a way to remove any kind of emotional pain, and if you still see it as something like that and you see it as a legitimate way to, then you may turn to alcohol again. But as long as you're okay with this reality shock that will come and you really just see alcohol for what it is, as this poisonous, disgusting, highly toxic substance that tastes like crap. If you see it that way, then you'll be at peace and whatever emotions that start coming up when you don't drink whether it's boredom, whether it's unhappiness, whether it's a lack of fulfilment, whether it's your relationship not being perfect, whatever feelings and whatever life starts throwing at you, instead of going back to the old you and turning back to alcohol and escaping with a drug, is you're able to absorb these things and you're able to tackle them? Right, you're able to just knock them out one by one. Okay, well, this problem's come into my life. Well, am I going to escape or am I going to fix it? Okay, I'm three weeks without a drink and I'm looking at my body and I'm looking in the mirror and I'm not. You know the way I want it to be. Well, what do I do? Do I say, ah, this sucks, I'm going to go back to drinking, or do I fix the problem? And as long as you stop seeing alcohol as the solution and you start seeing alcohol as the problem, I'm telling you you gain this new power in your life to just tackle things head on.
Speaker 1:Listen, I've made a lot of videos talking about celebrities that have stopped drinking alcohol. A lot of people find it extremely motivating, because these are people who have stopped drinking alcohol but then achieved groundbreaking success, and I think a lot of people love to see that, because that's the kind of things that happen when you don't drink. That's when people get in the best shape of their life. It's when they build these crazy massive businesses or, you know, achieve that top peak in their career, they become the best parent they've ever been. But it all starts with them not drinking and then tackling problems head on.
Speaker 1:But the thing that you've got to watch out for, and the thing I want to end this video with, is that when you stop drinking alcohol for a month and longer, the pain will disappear, it will go away and you will forget what it was like when you drank. And this is the thing that you need to be careful of, because when you forget about the pain, that's when this little voice in your head can start popping back up and you can start saying maybe this time is going to be different, maybe I'll just have one. Okay, we've stopped drinking for a month, we've stopped drinking for 90 days and I'm telling you please don't do it. You've got to have something to go towards. Running away from the pain of alcohol can get you sober. I've done it for six, seven or eight months.
Speaker 1:Alcohol caused a tremendous amount of pain in my life and that pain got me sober. But that voice in my head peaked back up and I thought it was a good idea to have just one drink, and that just one drink. Listen, we know there's no such thing, so make sure you have something to run towards. You want to be going towards a better quality of life instead of just running away from the pain of alcohol, because one day that pain will completely disappear.
