In this episode Samantha Rund and Jena Oberg discuss why preparation and the "moment before" needs to stay flexible, what high school students showed us about Shakespeare, and why community theaters are so important. Jena shares some of her experiences working as an artistic director and how her background in the arts helped her navigate her year long adoption process, travel to India, and connect with her daughter.

Samantha Rund is a  professional actor, comic, and creator of Beyond Technique Coaching. Recently, she can be seen on 3 Busy Debras on Adult Swim. She's passionate about using performance principles to help enrich and empower people's lives.

Jena Over is currently the Artistic Director of Little Lake Theatre, since 2016. 

Her favorite directing credits include: Macb, Arcadia, Electra, The Farnsworth Invention, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, Peter and the Starcatcher, Letters to Sala, The Crucible, Outside Mullingar

Her favorite acting roles include: Joyce in Top Girls, Stella in A Streetcar Named Desire, Catherine in Proof, Lenny in Crimes of the Heart

Her next directing project is Amadeus, TBA, which was pushed back from April due to COVID-19 health and safety guidelines. As the theater will not open for in person events this season, Jena is currently launching an online acting zoom-academy and developing virtual content for the rest of 2020. 

She is also a new mom!  Having spent the first three weeks of 2020 in India, adopting her daughter.
