Hello, hello, hello and welcome to episode 27 of the Spirit Level podcast.

You see, I suspect quite strongly, actually, that our mother Earth Gaia, has a history far and beyond what we've been told or taught. The fact that a hidden city which has evidence of an advanced technological society, has been uncovered in the, and I’ll have to say this slowly, Valsequillo, Valsequillo Basin in Mexico. It's been carbon dated via a range of techniques, and it's shown that it's around 250,000 years old.
So where current scientific knowledge claims that humans appeared about 100,000 years ago, well it just doesn't add up, does it?

Mel - And now it's time for your questions.
MR M - Thank you Mel and hello again everyone. We have three questions for you this week Mel.
Mel – Oh goodness, Okay.
MR M – The first is from a dear friend of ours, Lynn here in sunny Sheffield, who asks -: in the last episode you answered a question on frequency of tarot readings. You mentioned a general reading. What could someone expect in a general reading?
Mel - Hi Lynn, love to you all and Ticker and everybody and yes, a general reading. Okay so if you're coming for a general reading, it's just a tarot reading usually which just gives you an overview and a wider picture of what's going on in your life or in a certain situation at that particular time. Sometimes people come for a specific reason. It's a relationship problem or it's an issue with work, in which case the cards can be directed to answer that particular query in that particular area of someone's life.
But to be honest with you, if that is the important thing in the person's life, they'll come up in the cards anyway, so a general reading is just an overview of what's happening, what the energies are like in a person's life at that particular time. Usually for about six months forward.
MR M - Lovely stuff. Thank you, Mel. Our second question this week comes from Angela in Newcastle, who asks -: I have recently started meditation as a means to combat some anxiety, I am experiencing at the moment. I am finding it really difficult to let my mind relax. Do you have any tips that would help me achieve this?
Mel - You know what, you're not alone Angela. People get really bogged down with meditation, but it was, it took me 10 years till somebody gave me the key and I'll give it to you now. All meditation is, is daydreaming simple as that. You’re not sitting there to think about nothing. It's just about relinquishing control and letting your imagination go. Once you take that pressure off, you'll be surprised where your thoughts and your subconscious will take you, so don't be too hard on yourself. Stop trying so hard to relax or think of nothing. Just let just let your mind go. Let it wonder it's just daydreaming darling.
MR M - Yeah, good advice. Well thank you and our last question this week comes from Gail in Colchester who asks -: Over the last 18 months I have started to become more spiritually aware. I have never really considered myself as a spiritual person, but due to Covid and lockdown, I've found that I had more time to myself and started to evaluate my life and relationships. My husband is not a spiritual person, and my newfound awareness is causing a lot of issues between us. I still want to continue to explore my spirituality, but not at the risk of worsening my relationship with my husband. How do you and Mr. M manage this?
Mel - Ooh gosh that is, that is a deep one, isn't it? Oh well, I don't know if we do manage it darling, coz we just do it now or I'll just do it and poor you, have had to be dragged along really and look where it's taken you. We’ve got an international podcast.
So, my advice my love is, is just to keep speaking. It's all about communication. If your partner loves you and I'm sure that they do, then they're going to be happy that you are happy. So, if you want to, to continue with your spiritual awakening, by all means I would. I would do that. You'll make yourself ill or unhappy if you don't.
Once you start awakening, you can't unawaken, so you're already on the path I'm afraid, so I would just be open and honest. I discuss everything with Mr. M. If I have a new experience then, then I'll tell him about it and hopefully in time he'll want to explore it with you and get interested too, but I can't, I can't answer for Mr. M, I can only answer for me, but it's, it is an ongoing journey and it's part of your life. And so, it's part of their life as well. I guess. What would you think, Mr M
MR M - Yeah, I think it's a difficult one Gail, because you will be aware, and listeners will be aware that I don't have a spiritual side at all and some of the experiences that I've witnessed with Mel give me the absolute willies. So, it’s quite difficult for me, but on the other side, I have seen the benefits that Mel has given to other people through her gifts, and I let her explore it. I don't think it's any different from if your other half as an interest in …...golf.
Mel – Golf, sport.
MR M - Yeah golf, sport and they tootle off every Saturday for X amount of hours. You don't sort of make an issue with it? Like Mel said, it is all about communication and support. And if your other half is getting a bit of the hump because your spirituality is taking you to new places and you meeting new people out of it. It's trying to involve him in some sort of way, but dialogue is the key I think, and I'm sure everything will work out, but thank you for your question, Gail. Some good questions there Mel

Welcome to MR M’s MENAGERIE.
Hello everyone, and thank you for joining me this week, where I will be discussing ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY’.
Those of you who are familiar with the excellent TV Series ‘ANCIENT ALIENS’, which first aired in March 2009, and is, next month due to air Season 17, will no doubt be familiar with this theory, but for those of you hearing about this for the first time, the basic premis is this -:
Extra Terrestrial intelligent life has visited our planet in the past, and in doing so, communicated, interacted, developed and influenced ancient civilizations across the planet earth. Their influence extended to teaching and supplying knowledge to our ancient ancestors in respect of science, technology, architecture, mathematics, construction and agriculture. The theory further expounds the notion that in addition to the sharing and demonstration of knowledge, ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUTS’ also involved themselves in sexual relations with early humans, leading to claims that modern day human beings are descended from these unions. So, no small matter at all really!!!
During the late 19th and early 20th century, the idea that the earth had been visited by aliens in the past, started to gain some popularity, and certainly by the middle of the last century, the frequency of sightings of unidentified flying objects from across the world, capture of those objects on film, and the Roswell incident (The theory put forward that on the 8th of July 1947, an extra-terrestrial craft, crash landed into a ranch at Roswell, New Mexico in the United States), all of these stirred and ignited the public's imagination.
Just briefly in respect of Roswell. There have been numerous theories about what exactly crashed that day and what if anything was recovered. The official US Government statement regarding the incident, states quite clearly that this was nothing more than a weather balloon that had crashed. However, conspiracies abound about what really happened, not least in part because of the clandestine nature of the US Government and military actions immediately after and subsequently - maybe Roswell could feature as a stand-alone in another episode, please get in touch if you think it is worth discussing in further detail.
So, back to ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY. In his best-selling novel ‘CHARIOTS OF THE GODS’, written by Erich Von DANIKEN, published in 1968, the authour proposes that ancient structures such as The Pyramids of Egypt, Stonehenge here in England and the Moai figures found on Easter Island, 2000 miles west of Chile in the South Pacific, were ONLY able to be constructed and placed due to the external influence of extra-terrestrial beings, as the technology of those respective cultures where these structures are found, simply did not have the knowledge, tools, expertise, knowhow or logistics to quarry, transport and construct these structures. And it is fair to say that even in our advanced technological age, academics, scientists and historians are not all in agreement as to how these particular structures came to be in place.
Take the example of pyramids. Why did so many ancient civilizations that were not inter connected in any way, follow a near identical architectural building pattern? Did these ancient cultures have the same instructor? If indeed they did, how did they receive instruction, and by whom and for what purpose?
It is clear that a number of ancient pre-historic civilizations shared a universal scientific knowledge, something that we know would have been impossible to share, due to the distances between these civilizations, no means of communicating in a common language and no means of travelling the vast distances between themselves, across land and sea.
As a further example, how are The Pyramids of Giza in Egypt, The Pyramids of Teotihuacan in Mexico from the Aztec civilization and the pyramids of China found in the Guanzhong Plain all exactly aligned to the constellation of Orion?
Chance, luck, or is likely that ‘INSTRUCTION’ was given in the building and placement of these pyramids by ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUTS’.
One particular aspect of ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY’ that advocates cite as evidence that we have been visited in the past, is the similarity from numerous cultures about the presence of ‘GODS’ coming down from the sky. These ‘GODS’ are referenced in many ancient cultures, and the similarity of their descriptions between cultures separated by thousands of miles, who had no known means of communicating with each other are indeed striking.
All of these cultures describe the ‘GODS’ as descending from the sky on chariots, breathing fire, with bright lights surrounding them. Is it possible with no other terms of reference available to them at the time, that what the ancients were describing could be a type of craft descending? The fire description could well be similar to the sight of modern-day jet engines, and aircraft and other manned and unmanned aerial vehicles do indeed have lights.
In ancient civilizations where a recognised form of written language as we would know it, simply did not exist, descriptive imagery, passed on from person to person and from generation to generation, including depictions of what our ancestors saw and witnessed have been found all over the world in cave paintings and artifacts recovered. Many of these appear to show human forms, wearing helmets, round or spherical shapes depicted in the sky, lights and fire emitting from these shapes.
These depictions have been found in North, Central and South America, the near, middle and far east, Europe and Africa. All the ancient civilizations, from the Sumarians, Egyptians, Mayans, Aztecs, Native American, Indian, Japanese, Aboriginal and Chinese, all describe creator ‘GODS’, coming down from the sky to instruct man. Are all these cultures ‘pinching’ stories from each other? If they are, how did they do so? Or is it as ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORISTS’ maintain, a clear indication, that in the past, aliens from other worlds, visited and instructed us.
Finally, if we were visited in the distant past, what was the purpose of the visits? Surely, if an extra-terrestrial race had perfected the means of inter stellar travel, why would they need to instruct the humans they encountered on earth?
With the technology at their disposal, the need for interaction would not have been necessary, unless there was a need to do so, and it is this question where the waters begin to get a bit muddied.
A number of ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORISTS’ have suggested that the initial visits to our planet, were fact finding missions, exploration of the landscape for the purposes of harvesting the rich mineral resources our planet had to offer, and one particular resource was sought after the most, that being gold. Gold as I’m sure you are aware is a very good conductor of electricity, and an abundance of gold on our planet would certainly seem attractive to an extra-terrestrial race, involved in inter stellar travel, presumably to use it as it is used nowadays as a plating for connectors as it does not corrode or tarnish easily.
These ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUTS’, as many theorists will state, used their own work force initially to mine for the gold, but after some time, and with the need to increase the labour force, mated with us humans, instilling the offspring with knowledge of tools, production, building, agriculture etc.
There are a number of other threads in relation to ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY’, but time is against in this episode. I would certainly recommend watching the Ancient Alien TV series to learn more about ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY’.
So, what do we all think after that? Is ‘ANCIENT ASTRONAUT THEORY’ a complete load of bunkum or is there a semblance of truth in the accounts from our ancient ancestors.
Personally, and in saying this, I am aware that my view may well be contrary to many of yours, but I do think that there was some instruction from persons/people/races unknown that allowed mankind to advance and grow, but I do accept that the evidence to support this is in the main circumstantial.

Welcome to this week's HOUSEHOLD HOCUS POCUS.
And another staple in the hocus pocus larder, because it's another really important ingredient for curries. It's FENUGREEK.
It's a very pungent spice. It's the seeds actually, and it has quite a unique flavor. Well, magically, it's exceptionally useful for prosperity and money spells. So, add some of the seeds to a pouch with other abundance herbs, or wash the floor with the seeds steeped in water to bring abundance to your home. It is said that putting the seeds under your pillow will stop bad dreams and nightmares.
I haven't tried this one myself but do have a go if needed and let me know the results.
The seeds are also used for grounding and psychic protection as well as blessings and focus in meditation. But personally, for me it's best used with chicken and channa in a curry. Enjoy.
23:23 Mel - TIME FOR TAROT
Welcome to this weeks' TIME FOR TAROT, and this week we are looking at THE QUEENS. Now as I said last week, and whilst the Minor Arcana cards can indicate certain circumstances or certain energies that are required in a reading, it can actually indicate people that are involved or can offer assistance or in other ways, just in the arena, and we're going to talk about THE QUEENS this week, which is obviously THE QUEENS being very feminine energy.
So, let's talk about the QUEEN OF WANDS. So, the QUEEN OF WANDS is a warm 35-year-old plus female usually has great determination, is very vibrant and hardworking, but easygoing, a people person, works their way to the top, but would suit or would like to be self-employed. So, again this could be your sitter that you're picking up on, or it could be that they just need to, if it's a male person that you're reading for, tap into those feminine energies, but again it will depend on the other cards that are around at this time. So, in reverse, the QUEEN OF WANDS can be aggressive, demanding and a shrinking Violet.
The QUEEN OF CUPS linked to water, so Pisces again, Scorpio and Cancer, is about emotional security, calm, intuitive, compassionate. Again, a mature female of 35 plus years. But the QUEEN OF CUPS has no issue in expressing love or emotions to anybody.
In reverse it can mean emotional insecurity or codependency. So that's a little bit of a red flag.
The QUEEN OF SWORDS is quick witted. She's organized, perceptive, independent, mature, again 35 years plus, but a high achiever and can be ruthless and can appear emotionally cold. She's the female version of the KING OF SWORDS. So, in reverse it can mean that they're overly emotional, cold hearted and downright bitchy. But again, as I've said before, you could be reading for a male, and it could be that it's those traits that are coming up that need to be discussed.
So, finally we've got the QUEEN OF PENTACLES, who is practical, efficient, all about security, very down to earth. Again, a mature female of 35 plus years. She's got plenty of resources and again likes to be self-employed or the boss.
In reverse, it means there's an imbalance in the work life balance, so if it turns up reversed anywhere in the reading, that's a good sign that things are out of kilter between home and work.
So that's the QUEEN OF PENTACLES and all the other QUEENS.
