Mediations in Mark - Chapter 16

We’ve come to the last chapter in Mark’s gospel

And to the enigma at the end of the book
- that’s because the story ends at Mark 16, verse 8
• you say, “Chuck! My Bible still has more verses”
◦ “Yes, I know, but read the fine print”
• the most ancient manuscripts that we have in our possession end at verse 8
◦ scholars tell us the quality of the Greek writing changes at verse 9
◦ the evidence supports the abrupt ending
- this has become a fascination for me – so, it has been a frequent meditation
