Photography Explained Podcast
Photography stuff explained in plain English by me, Rick, in less than 27(ish) minutes without the irrelevant details.
I explain one photographic thing per episode, providing just enough information to help you understand it, improve your photography and take better photos, all without delving into endless, irrelevant details.
I am a professionally qualified photographer based in the UK and amongst other things I help photographers take better photos.

Hi everybody. Welcome to Episode 25 of the Photography Explained podcast. In this episode – Happy New Year.
I’m your host Rick and each week I will try to explain one photographic thing to you in plain English in less than 10 minutes without the irrelevant details. My aim is to explain things in just enough detail to help us with our photography and no more.
That is in a normal episode. But not this one.
This is just me wishing you a Happy New Year, and that we all have a better 2021 after all that 2020 has brought us.
Please join me on my podcast and my blog in 2021 as I explain photography stuff one bit at a time, in plain English and without the irrelevant detail.
Stay safe

Happy new year for me, Rick.
Welcome to Episode 25 of the photography explained podcast in this episode, Happy New Year. I'm your host, Rick, and each week, I'll try to explain one photographic thing to you in plain English in less than 10 minutes without the irrelevant detail. My aim is to explain things in just enough detail to help with our photography, and no more.
That's in a normal episode.
But in this episode, I just want to wish you a Happy New Year, and hope that we all have a better 2021 after what has been, quite frankly, a horrendous 2020.
2020 was a really, really difficult year for all of us, more difficult for some than others.
Some good has come out of it, but it's a shame we had to go through all the badness to get any of the goodness that's come out of it.
Enough about that.
Today is New Year's Day. I hope you're not listening to this today, I hope that you're spending time with friends and family enjoying yourselves as much as we're allowed to in the current climate (this was pre-recorded, and I am doing just that today).
What's coming up in 2021?
Well, I've got some, some plans. I'm going to continue to broadcast twice a week on my podcast, and also produce a blog post that accompanies it.
I've been trialling some clever stuff that manages to transcribe what I say and puts it into a Word document, which is quite scary because I can see what I've actually said.
I will continue to explain things without the irrelevant detail.
What's next?
Who cares what's next? Enjoy today. And let's enjoy ourselves in 2021.
I will say it again. All the best for 2021.
I'll have to learn how to say 2021 clearly, one of my aims for 2021 is to be able to read and speak properly!
Join me as I carry on with my journey to master the art of speech and photography
Have a great New Year's Day. Have a great 2021.
See you on the next episode. Cheers from Rick
