Marta the Medium is an evidential psychic medium, spiritual teacher, and intuitive guide who has helped thousands of people connect with loved ones in spirit and discover their own intuitive gifts, along the way. Marta reminds us that these conversations aren't just about connecting with those who've crossed over.
They're about healing, trust, purpose, and understanding who we truly are. Today we're talking about the signs from Spirit, what happens when we die, the messages our loved ones most want us to hear, and how all of us can strengthen our own connection to intuition. There is so much to discuss. Let's get going.
Hi, Marta. Hi, Karen.
Karen: Hi, Robyn. Hi, Marta. Welcome.
Marta: Hello, Robyn. Hello, Karen. Thank you so much for having me on.
Karen: Oh, we've been so excited for this conversation, Marta. Your, energy is just so special, and it just comes across in everything, I [00:02:00] think, that you do and say. And, I know we want to ask you questions about, you know, growing up, with all of these visions.
But just, in the intro as Robyn was reading it struck me that people might not know what an evidential psychic medium is, and I would just love if you could just put it in your own- Mm-hmm ... how do you define it-
Marta: Yes ...
I love how you introduced me. I normally don't introduce myself as an evidential psychic medium.
But yes, I am definitely spirit led. Uh, so I truly believe that it is the spirit world that, defines the evidence. so the way I understand it is when I do mediumship readings I allow the spirit world to be an integral and an active part of a living conversation, which means that I am not having any prefixed ideas what an evidence will be and what I will be looking for from the other side.
I just open myself up to [00:03:00] that possibility to that conversation with people's loved ones, sometimes spirit guides and angels as well, and it is them who decide what is the most important. First, let's call it piece of evidence that my clients need to hear something that's going to make them feel, know, perhaps believe if they have not fully been converted, or they are not really fully aware that it's still possible.
and I truly believe that sometimes it is something that for me will not be very meaningful, but it will mean everything to my client. So it's about removing my ego aside and allowing the spirit world to decide what evidence they want to bring.
Karen: I love that. So helpful.
Robyn: It really is. And just to add a little bit to that, and then we're gonna dive into your story, you had sent me a note about one of my deceased loved ones, [00:04:00] and there's more to it, which we may get to, but one thing that when you started out when we're talking about evidence, you said, "I keep hearing jazz music and being shown a saxophone. "
mm-hmm. And I knew immediately what you were talking about, because with my dad, our song together, and with my family, is Call Me Al by Paul Simon, and in the music video, Chevy Chase is playing a saxophone. And My sister and I think about that all the time, because that was a video that i- in the year before and leading up to his passing, which was a very unexpected passing, that was like the it music video.
And I think people- Mm-hmm ... of that time, because it was so different then, we weren't inundated in media in the way we are now, everybody kind of knew that video, right? Like Karen, do you know what I'm talking about? Yes,
Karen: of course. And I also know how significant that song is for you,
Robyn: Yeah.
Call Me Al, and Al in general, is like it's a sign for me and my dad, and so I knew [00:05:00] exactly what you were talking about. So- Mm-hmm ... and no one would know that, right? Like, you would not know that, like that that piece Was so important or would trigger something for me. So I wanted to bring that up as we-
Karen: I think that's such a perfect example, because I think people don't always understand. Like, it could be a certain flower, it could be like you said, Robyn a song, and that's the power of what Marta and, others like her can do for people. It is that aha, like you just said, Robyn, nobody could possibly know that which is what makes it so magical and meaningful
Robyn: Yeah, so tell us about growing up, because your awakening is really unique, and you had these gifts before you had language for them. So what did that look like for you?
Marta: My childhood was very challenging. It was full of fear- And I felt very lonely. So I am not going to be able to give you a romanticized version of [00:06:00] a spiritual awakening, because mostly my reality as a child was constantly denied.
I could see figures in my room, and the nights, they were the busiest and the scariest parts of my life. And there was a particular person, one of my loved ones, that would appear at night. I know now that this is my great-grandmother. But there was an elderly woman in a headscarf who would stand beside my bed every night, leaning over me, watching over me.
And I ended up sleeping facing the wall with the covers pulled over my face, begging my parents to allow me for the lights to stay on. and they didn't agree. It was only after I spoke with the ladies at nursery, which means I must have been four or five, how scared I was. And of course, they didn't believe that experience.
Everyone thought that [00:07:00] those were just nightmares, but at least. they convinced my parents to allow me to have the, lights on. And it was only years later that I learned that my great-grandmother, she had passed in the attic of the building where we lived, and that n- no one had ever spoken about her to me.
so the woman by my bed, it was her, and sh- she simply wanted to get to know me, look after me. It's only that her energy came very strongly, and I had no containment and no knowledge how to protect my energy. Uh, the fact that I was told from very early on that those experiences were not really real it contributed to so much confusion to the extent that I've experienced so many astral traveling, where my soul really wanted to leave the body because it was [00:08:00] too much to really experience What I was told wasn't real in my human body.
So what people would have told that they were dreams, I know they weren't. So I have vivid flashbacks of hovering above the neighborhood at night. and then coming back and getting that a jolt in my body when I actually returned. It was a way of my soul and body regulating itself given the circumstances.
but there are so many examples how because I wasn't able to fully digest or understand what was going on, my physical body really struggled. Since I was a child, I had severe hemorrhages and nosebleeds. I had severe heart aches. But I was told by everyone that It wasn't anything [00:09:00] serious. And for a child, when you're told that those physical experiences are not severe, then you, well, you stop trusting your body as well.
So it was very, very scary.
Karen: Oh, that's so heartbreaking. And it makes me wonder how many other children are suffering the same way and don't have the words or the people to understand and help them through those experiences. Oh, I'm so sorry that you went through that, Marta. Can you flash forward a little bit for us then?
Life went on, and you went on to run a translation agency. You got a PhD. Yes. You had a kid. And then you reached a point where everything cracked open. Can you take us to that moment and, and how that
Marta: happened? Mm. Yes.
And I can see spirit is showing me three different points, but yes, for a long time, I did what a lot of intelligent, capable women do. I built a life that looked right on paper. So as you've mentioned, I ran a translation agency. I was doing [00:10:00] a PhD. I was raising my children. I was very good at functioning, but I was completely disconnected from myself, and you know now why, because this was my childhood experience, and this is what I carried on to my adulthood.
So what cracked me open in the first place was survival. I came from an abusive marriage. I had panic attacks that took the floor out from under me, and there was a period without a home. I was raising two children largely on my own. And it really began when I was going through my divorce, four years and a half in court.
And I remember one day, I started hearing the voice of my grandmother in spirit, my father's mother, and I remember this really vividly. I was very stressed. I felt very low, and I was preparing myself for one of the court hearings. But this voice It [00:11:00] was calm, it was uplifting, so steady that I knew it was not coming from me.
I had that knowing that it was my grandmother. So straight away I started searching. I started googling spirit, I've started watching things on YouTube, and I kept bumping into readers and psychic mediums. Until then, I had not even known they existed.
Marta: so yes. two particular readers - online. One medium in the States whose book I bought and I kept watching, and she ran a raffle, pulling names from a basket for a free reading.
And I remember I was on my way out to collect my children from school, and Spirit kept telling me. I'm very clairaudient, so they talk talk until I do something. I'm like, " Okay. Okay." Uh, so they told me, "You need to submit that image, photograph of the book. You're going to get a reading." And I'm like, "No, what are the odds?
I'd rather, like, book myself a [00:12:00] reading than to take part in a competition." Until then, I've never had a reading. so I carried on with my day, and then I woke up next morning. Because of the time difference, I didn't attend the live, session. And the Spirit told me, "Go to this recording and fast-forward the raffle results."
And here she pulled my name out of the basket. Wow. And I got my first, psychic medium reading. And during this reading, my grandmother came through, the one that started communicating to me while I was getting a divorce. And this psychic medium told me, "By the way, do you know you can also do it for other people?
you're also a psychic medium." I'm like, "No."
Karen: Oh, wow. Wow.
Marta: So that was, like, one of those stories. And the other one, there was another psychic medium, who used to do tarot readings and mediumship readings live. And I found her, and I was fascinated. And one day I heard [00:13:00] Spirit telling me, "You're a psychic medium, too."
And I I just laughed. It was so funny, Not because it was only funny. I have a very logical mind, and the idea felt absurd. The laugh, I truly know now, it was a defense because something in me already knew it was true, but I wasn't ready to let it land. So the real tipping point came slowly after that because through other people I started reading friends, and then friends of friends, and it spread by word of mouth.
And every time my ego got loud, saying, "Is this even real? You have spent your whole life being judged, and now you want to be a psychic medium?" Every single time I was just still not completely sure whether it was something I was meant to do, a text, an email, someone telling me how evidential the reading was [00:14:00] contacted me.
And it wasn't just evidential for the sake of being evidential. People kept telling me how much it helped their grief, how it had saved them. And spirit kept me on this path and would not let me step off it until one day I had this conversation with the spirit world, and then with my ego as well. And I've decided that, "Okay, there's no plan B. I am doing this 100%. Take me wherever you want. I surrender." I still resist them, of course. We barter, and we still, have the, what I called energetic blackmail from the s- from my spirit guides. Uh, but they move with humor, and they keep expanding my comfort zone Sometimes gently and sometimes not so gently at all.
Robyn: That is quite a story, Marta. And, from having talked to you before, we know that you actually just [00:15:00] live your life with spirit. Like, you are very much in contact all the time. It's not something... You have now ways to protect yourself and so forth- Mm-hmm ... but you're very much co-living with-
Karen: Yeah, that's a great way to put it, Robyn.
Robyn: Yeah ... like, with spirit.
Karen: I was just gonna say, when we had our first conversation, I think that was what we found was so unusual and special about the way you converse. You actually are really living it, embodying it on a day-to-day basis. So we can talk to you, but it's like Robyn said, it's like your angels and guides are with you in the room.
Mm-hmm. Yeah. And you're just translating for us what they're adding to the conversation, which is so beautiful and it really brings that dimension that, we're in the 3D world. It brings them really to life in our conversation.
Robyn: Yeah, , that was a thing that I think we were so inspired by was that you're very open when we were [00:16:00] talking, and even in this conversation you're listening to your spirit guides.
and usually there's, like, a specific one it seems like is kind of more at the forefront. And so you bring that into the conversation. You know, you're open about that, which I think is really cool for people to see and hear. Because If we open ourselves up to it, many of us have that ability to be conversing with-
spirit in that way.
Marta: . It's one of the things that also- Made me really choose, like I've really wanted to do mediumship readings, and I've really wanted to teach other people how to establish a relationship with their own loved ones. Because I've realized I have a very beautiful relationship with so many of my loved ones in spirit.
I drink coffee with my mom. We listen to music. I speak with my grandfather. He still teases me, and there's [00:17:00] so much humor, and it doesn't deny my grief, but it's beautiful. But I've realized as I carried on, speaking with various friends of mine, and people that not everyone had the same connection with their loved ones on the other side.
And then I thought, "Oh, what a shame," because everyone is able to connect with their own loved ones, and I so much wanted other people, to be able to do the same.
Robyn: Definitely. And I feel like with the way that you work with people in terms of readings, whether it's a one-on-one or it's a group reading, when we talk about spirit, it can be spirit overall.
It may be a deceased loved one, it may be a spirit guide. and for those who don't know what a spirit guide is, can you talk about that? Because I do think sometimes people who are listening to our podcast, they're open to what that means, but they don't necessarily know
Marta: Okay. I consider angels to be spirit guides as well. But [00:18:00] yes, we do have loved ones, angels, and spirit guides. And I truly believe that... spirit guides, well, some spirit guides, they've been with you for lifetimes, and they are allocated to you, and they know your higher purpose, they know your life lessons.
And they are the ones who are meant to push you out of your comfort zone so that you can carry on evolving. And, not all of spirit guides - I think most of the spirit guides, they've never walked here on Earth. They've never experienced this human experience, so they bring the knowledge from other realms.
so yes, they're spirit guides. And then we have angels, and I agree because many people, they consider angels to be spirit guides as well. We have archangels, and we have also a guardian angel, which is our own personal guardian angel that, again, is allocated to us. Uh, angels are able to help [00:19:00] us to see our life lessons, to see our human experience through the lens of this unconditional love.
So I truly believe that all those beings, they really support us with anything that we need at a given moment.
Robyn: I think it's so helpful to help- us all visualize and paint that picture of what is really going on, it makes us all feel less alone.
Karen: And realizing that we have this team, this unseen team that are behind us at all times that we have access to and are dedicated to helping us on this journey. So if we can call upon them, and I, hope we'll get a few of those ideas from you about how we too can tune into our own spirit guides.
And then there are different ways of tuning into them, right? . There's all the clairs that we can use on our own. There's ways of communicating through channeling through your own journaling. There's just so many different ways that we [00:20:00] uniquely are able to do those things.
Robyn: Yeah. And you mentioned this knowing that you have, and then being clairaudient. can you explain what that means
Marta: so spirit uses various clairs when they communicate with us, and those are... Well, spirit doesn't have a toolbox, which means they have their own language, uh, that we translate through our human senses.
So there is clairaudience, which means it's a clear hearing. We hear spirits. So I hear spirit internally. Sometimes I can hear a voice outside as well. there's clairvoyance, which means clear seeing, which means it is, seeing... Well, as a child, I used to see spirits with a naked eye, and then I've realized that, well, I've been taught that I can negotiate, and I perceive more things through my third eye.
so it happens as if they were dreams, images videos. so that's the way spirit communicates. There is [00:21:00] clairsentience, so spirit is able to make you feel. You can pick up on, your loved one's emotions. You can pick up on your loved one's way of passing. That's clairsentience. and then you've got clairgustance and clairalience.
So you can smell and taste, which means you can all of a sudden smell your grandfather's cologne or taste your grandmother's favorite cake. . And so those are different ways how spirit communicates with us, and those are very subtle.
Robyn: is claircognizance the clear knowing?
Marta: Oh, yeah. There is also claircognizance knowing. You just know. It just, like, lands as a truth bomb, and you just know. You don't question it. Yes.
Karen: And when you're doing a reading, Marta, I know you talk a lot about the knowing, but do you use all your clairs, or is it really just one mostly of the knowing , and the hearing that come through in your
readings?
Marta: I think it depends on the person in spirit that I'm communicating. Uh, [00:22:00] I tend to not choose the clair that I want to use. it is the spirit world that choose which clairs they want to convey their message through. And I truly believe that it depends on the person, the way we have different personalities here.
Mm-hmm. So if someone was very talkative, they're going to talk more. If someone maybe was shy, they're going to perhaps convey a message through images. so I don't come to a reading, with an intention that I'm going to use a particular clair. I just open myself up, and then I'll allow them to use whatever clair they want to.
Karen: I love that what you just said about how it really helps you translate the personality-
Marta: Yeah ...
Karen: of the person. So if grandma was a great cook and baker, you might get more of those, the smells. I love that translation. Tell us about how all of these experiences have formed your [00:23:00] definition of our soul and what a soul means to you.
How do you define it?
Marta: It's so challenging to put any words. Uh, but it's our essence. It's who we are at our core. Uh, I believe that ... We're occupying our bodies only for a very short moment of time. So I think most of us, we try to tap into our soul for most of our lifetime.
It takes years to be able to hear. It's our pure essence. It is this expression of the source within us. I truly believe there is an extension of, well, God of your own understanding inside of you. Uh, what happens that when we come here on Earth one of our tasks is to remember. Remember who we are at our core, which means that we have an assignment to peel the layers of, who we thought we were what other people told us that we [00:24:00] were, which means that we remove those things until we realize, oh, this is my essence.
This is my soul. It's very ethereal .
Robyn: you've done a beautiful job- Thank you ... expressing that.
Karen: Yes. And it helps us all understand that we do have an essence to ourselves. I think that's what we're always battling with.
I can tell. Robyn and I just talked yesterday about a journey that I'm on right now, which is really testing me and is almost blocking out my ability to hear my soul and my angels because it seems like so... there... I have no choice, and I, I know better, and what I know I need to do is step back and really tune into that part of, myself again.
But I think so many of us get caught in that chaos, and confusion, and doubt and really what the world is telling us about ourselves that we lose track. And that's why the gifts that you're able to give to people and being able to remind them that they have this team of people that they can also turn to when they need them [00:25:00] is such, a beautiful gift to, give others.
Robyn: Are there common messages or themes that come through again and again from Spirit as you've been on this journey and working with so many people?
Marta: Okay. there'll be loads, but let's stick with three. I'll share maybe some of the messages that our loved ones share with us.
So the first is almost always some version of, "I am sorry, I see it now." Mm. Whatever was unresolved, whatever went unsaid, they want you to know they understand it now in a way they couldn't while they were here. And it is beautiful because if you had a complicated relationship with one of your loved ones here on Earth, what happens is that once your loved ones cross over, you are able to rekindle and reestablish that relationship, with them, should you choose to, [00:26:00] because you have a free will.
So that's the first one. The second is, " Please stop carrying the guilt." So many people are quietly convinced they failed the person who passed. They should have visited more, said more, noticed sooner. They could have perhaps prevented an illness. Spirit almost never sees it that way.
They want you to be released from it. and the third one, " Leave. Don't put your life on hold to keep grieving me. Be happy, and know your happiness doesn't betray me. It reaches me, and this one comes through again and again. They really want us to actually live the life.
They no longer c
Robyn: Oh, I love that. ... I think that's so important for people to hear, especially if [00:27:00] you are newly going through grief. It doesn't mean that you don't go through all the stages
there are different stages of grief. But to hear that they want us to live-
... I think is really important for people to hear. there isn't a proper way, but what you're saying is you don't have to not be happy or not laugh. That is not a- Mm-hmm
betrayal of grieving them They want you to continue on.
Karen: Yeah. think another gift of, these readings too, Marta, is the fact that so many people are just not sure what happens when we die. They don't know where we go. they don't know what we know, which is that you just go onto a, a, different plane, you're, that you're always there.
And I think that affirmation that your loved one is still there, is still with you and is just in a different plane is so, so important to hear. I know you had a, complicated relationship with your mom. Mm-hmm. And you lived what we talked about really was, anticipatory grief, which I think a lot of people [00:28:00] also feel- Mm
and don't know how to navigate. Can you talk a little bit about your relationship with your mom and, what it was like then and, before she passed, and what it's like now?
Marta: Yes. So we frequently talk about grief as something that begins when someone passes, and for so many people, including me, it begins years earlier.
So I lost my mother slowly- over about 12 years and before she ever physically passed. She went into a coma, and against medical expectations, she came back to us, but not fully the woman she had been. And over the 12 years that followed, I watched her keep living in pieces, in slow motion while still being here.
And you grieve the conversations you can no longer have. You grieve the person who used to know you. You're caring for someone and mourning them at the same time, and there is [00:29:00] a particular loneliness in that because the world doesn't recognize it as grief yet. they are still here, so you should be happy.
So why are you crying? and I want to name it clearly for anyone living it right now. What you're feeling is real grief, and you are allowed to mourn someone who is still breathing, and it doesn't mean you love them less, and it doesn't mean you have given up. It means you're human, and you've been grieving in advance and carrying something so heavy and largely alone.
And I truly believe that deserves enormous compassion, not guilt. well, speaking about my mom's transition and how our relationship changed once she's crossed over, well, I should say that, as you've mentioned, our relationship wasn't an easy one. There was real pain. [00:30:00] but in her final weeks, something opened between us, and we had a communication in telepathy and, we did lots of forgiveness.
My mom was very scared of crossing over because of various things that she did to me, and I reassured her that she was going to be fine and that various loved ones would greet her. I channeled various goodbye letters from her. Well, one for her own mom, one for my sister, one for my, dad.
The things she wanted to say but she wasn't able to speak anymore. So we basically made our peace before she passed. She was so petrified. And then she passed, and for months there was nothing. She's gone. Silence. I couldn't feel her. I couldn't hear her. There was nothing. And I understand now why, because she explained it to me.
So part [00:31:00] of it was simply that the soul needs time to settle after a long illness, and I was also so deeply in my own grief that I couldn't have received her clearly. But part of it what she told me was that She had her own work to do. Basically, they made her go through every single pain, everything that she caused to me, so that she could understand what happened.
Robyn: Wow.
Marta: And it was after that, that she finally came back. And the very first thing she brought was an apology and a kind of understanding she had never quite reached while she was alive. And when she did return, she was different, and that makes me so emotional because she came back lighter-
more fully herself.
And she, she came back with her humor, with her coffee, with Tina Turner songs. But most importantly, she came back as a mother [00:32:00] that she was not able to be, here on this plane. And- And I was very, very annoyed with her at the very beginning because my mom began coming to me in dreams to protect me, steering me away from people who were dishonest or low vibrational or simply not good for me, and it made me so angry.
And my reaction was, "Again, you're interfering with my life. You don't want me to be happy." But she was always right every single time, and this is what I understand now. Ah. So from the other side, she has become that mother-
Karen: Wow ...
Marta: who protects me and watches over me. But we have lots of beautiful conversations now, and we joke, and it's a very light relationship right now.
Karen: That's so beautiful. And how healing for both of you to have that opportunity still in this lifetime, and even her after, that she passed away. it's so fun to [00:33:00] think of you two having coffee together, like you'd be doing in real, real life. Do you give her, like, dedicated time where you converse, or is it just when certain things come up
Marta: in your life?
Uh, well, she's part of my day-to-day life, but I buy a specific blend of coffee that she enjoyed, and sometimes I just sit in the garden and we just talk. But there are other loved ones that want to come, and then they fight for an attention and chair, so she sometimes rides in my car. And yeah, she finds her way.
And with Tina Turner, uh, this is her new way of communicating, with me. So I not always want to listen to her because she's got an opinion, and not always I feel like I want to hear it. Yeah. So she plays Tina Turner until I listen, and recently... well, recently, over a year, she started playing... other people who are significant in my life, my friends, they started hearing Tina Turner.
Which means that they get in touch with me, "Marta, can you start listening to your mom?"
Robyn: All right. Yeah, I feel like [00:34:00] we're gonna start hearing Tina Turner- ... in our ears. They're sending messages like, "Marta, your mom's coming through."
Marta: Listen. Yes.
Robyn: Well, and I want to just say that I think first of all, introducing this idea of anticipatory grief to people, is so validating for many who are going through different situations right now.
And then also those who have had a challenging relationship with someone in their life- And having this inspiration from you that things can change and that you can actually have a very meaningful positive relationship with somebody on the other side that was challenging in this lifetime it gives me hope. I think those who are listening or watching, it gives them hope because there's a lot to be learned on both sides, right? Whether you're in body in this lifetime or on the other [00:35:00] side, there's something to be learned from those experiences.
Karen: Yeah, and so often Robyn and I talk about the fact that when someone has crossed over they're looking for signs everywhere.
And looking for signs that they're still around. What do you say to people if they are looking for signs? And I've heard it from so many, and they're like, "I don't see anything." Are we overcomplicating it? Are we sending too much conflicting energy to it? Like, what, what is that about, Marta?
What do you tell people?
Marta: I will say gently. Well, the very first fog that you're desperate, that you're straining and watching and getting nothing, is often the thing in the way.
So grief and desperation create a kind of static. Spirit is very subtle, and when we are fronting, we miss subtle.
So I would tell to people to stop hunting and start softening. So signs tend to come in the [00:36:00] what I call in between moments. In the shower, on a walk, just as you are waking. So the moment your guard is down and- This is when those signs normally come to your awareness, and they're almost always specific and personal to you.
Never grand. Well, they can be. So after my own grandmother passed, the one we've talked today about, I would catch the exact scent of her Percol detergent in places it had no business being, and that is what to look for. A scent, a song, a number, a bird that lingers too long. So those are the private codes only you would recognize, but in order for you to be able to notice it, you have to, should you want to, receive signs and symbols from the other side, be present in your human experience.
If you're plugged in constantly to your phone, you have headphones, you are going [00:37:00] to miss the signs frequently. From my experience, spirit are just waving, "Hello. I've given you signs on a billboard. You should have overheard that conversation. I'm just trying, and you're not listening." But it's about being gentle with yourself, but being aware of your surrounding.
Karen: I remember When my mother-in-law passed away I don't get signs all the time, but the day of her funeral, literally walking outside and vividly smelling her perfume. that's the perfect example, Like, it's a place where there's no reason I should have smelled her perfume, but it was right there.
And then I looked up and there was a cardinal on the wire, and she loved cardinals. So it was... I was open to it because I was ready for her passing, I think, and I wasn't as, attached to her to the rest of the family. and I think that's why I saw it, but I don't think that the rest of the family, in their grief, could have seen it at that moment.
And I don't think I've ever smelled anything since. That was just... But it was so profoundly [00:38:00] her, and I don't think anybody else wore that perfume. it was such a reassurance that she was, close and nearby, and she was well.
Robyn: and that idea of it's in the subtle moments that- Yeah
you can be aware and trust it. I think often we dismiss it as, " Oh, that's just a coincidence." And yet the more you can be open and actually recognize that you're receiving, the more you're gonna see and feel and get it is that believing and trusting
Marta: Yes. I absolutely agree that we as human beings tend to dismiss various things. So you might be receiving so many more signs from the other side than you think. So perhaps it would be worth tracking them down, this is what I keep hearing right now, uh, having a diary of all those signs before your analytical mind starts interfering or before you find a way of, talking yourself out of it.
Robyn: Yes. Just like you're talking about Tina Turner, [00:39:00] you know? Yeah. You recognize at this point that this is your mom's way of-
...
Robyn: Indicating right now. And, it may change in the future, but for the last year- Mm ... she's using Tina Turner.
Karen: Love it. Marta, what are your thoughts based on your own journey now, and even in this conversation with your mom, about how much we plan before we got here- Mm-hmm
how much of our path we create for ourselves, how much our soul guides, our soul family- influence our path? I think we've talked to so many people who have been able to look back on those really difficult moments in their lives and really see the purpose at some point later, and that those moments can be the ones that open you up to a spiritual journey or a spiritual searching or just- Mm
learning more about the meaning behind that. what do you say to people about that?
Marta: there will be a very complicated answer. Hopefully not too complicated, but I'm getting different- [00:40:00] Oh, good ... uh, answers right now. Because my honest answer when you ask are, are lives planned or do we create our path, I, keep hearing both.
So I believe we come in with contracts before we arrive. You must have heard it and you must have experienced as well that we agree to learn certain things, almost like signing up for a particular course before the term begins. So certain key people, certain lessons are going to repeat themselves until we learn it.
what I believe about the free will, I believe we have a free will, but sometimes I question how much free will we have. Sometimes I tease and I laugh with my guides yes, you allow me to choose my ice cream, whether I can have strawberry or blueberry, or I can choose what I do with my day. But what fascinates me and what I've experienced is that sometimes I set out to do one thing, and my guides [00:41:00] quietly steer me somewhere else, and I end up exactly where my growth needed me to be, having done the very thing that was best for me.
And then I finally hear them laughing, and I tease them because I didn't even fully say yes. And then I ask them, "Have I even had a say in that?" So I think of life like a game with levels. This is where it might get a little bit of complicated. But, to keep it simple, there is a basic level, an intermediate level, and a more advanced level.
At each level, you have different set of lessons, different ones that, you can choose to learn within a level. You have a freedom in terms of the route that you're going to take, which relationship you're going to enter, which job you take, which city you move to, but the lessons themselves you cannot skip.
So they're going to keep repeating themselves in a different form, in a different relationship, in [00:42:00] a different scenario. so this is the levels lesson that keeps coming back. But I truly believe that, this is the exciting part, that we have a free will when it comes to skipping the levels. I truly believe that there exists various versions of you at the same time, which means I'm talking about what spirit perceives.
Time is not linear. Which means that there is a version of you that's fully thriving. There's one that maybe, is not successful yet, and there's another version of yourself. Which means with the power of your thoughts and emotions, you are able to, let's call it, quantum jump. Which means that you're able to skip, uh, the level.
You always have a choice. You might choose in this lifetime not to learn any lessons, but you might also decide that, "Okay, I am going to be a good student, and I'm choosing to learn everything." Which means I want to be at the highest, more advanced level, which [00:43:00] means I want to tap into my, um, soul's expression, and I want to cross over with a hope that maybe I'll not have to come back- here to learn the lessons that perhaps other people have chosen not to learn. So, yeah. I don't know how much I've answered your question, but it's always very complicated. So it's not just yes or no.
Robyn: I love the way that you answered that. I think that helped people- have a better understanding in terms of just having the analogy of the levels in a game.
I often think about it that way, so you very much mirrored some of my own thoughts that I feel I've received as well. So-
Karen: And I think for people who might be interested in working with you, Marta- Yeah ... it's always interesting to hear the answer to that question because it does... Robyn and I are so much in alignment with that, but not everybody has heard the possibilities of even different versions of themselves, and the [00:44:00] opportunity that they might have to jump between levels.
And even understand perhaps why they are where they are at the moment, and that they can navigate to different versions of themselves. So I just love that you share that.
Robyn: And/or why they keep coming back to, and maybe with a different person or a different- Yeah ... experience, but there's a same feeling of something that keeps coming up.
Mm-hmm. And I think in the way that you explained it it's helpful to understand why that might be happening.
We have a question in terms of what you feel at the moment as a collective that we may most need to hear right now.
Marta: And I think this is interesting because, many of those messages that I channel, they are very simple, and some people expect that they'll be very, very profound.
And i- they will be profound in their own simplicity. so what I keep hearing, come back to your own knowing. Mm. So we're living in a time of [00:45:00] unbelievable noise, and everyone has an opinion. Every expert contradicts the last, and the result is that people have outsourced their inner authority almost completely.
They've stopped trusting themselves. So the message I keep receiving for the collective is that the answers people are searching for outside themselves are already within them. Not in a vague, pretty way. Practically. Your body knows, your intuition knows. You've just been taught to believe you need permission.
So if there is one thing I would want people to take from this, it's to stop waiting to be told and start listening inwards. Self-trust is the work of our time, and I truly believe that a world full of people who trust themselves is a very different world from the [00:46:00] one we have now.
Robyn: Yes.
Karen: So beautiful.
Robyn: I hope everyone can really hear that. Rewind. Listen to it again. Yeah. So true. Write it
Karen: down.
Robyn: Yes, write it down. And you're a big believer in helping people to better trust themselves. And you really are a mentor and a teacher, and you have so many different offerings. Can you talk a little bit about them?
Marta: Yes, I will try to keep it as simple as possible. Yes, connecting people with their loved ones is only half of what I do, but everything I offer comes back to one belief. You don't need to keep coming back to a medium to feel connected to spirits or to trust your own intuition. So my real work is helping people build that for themselves.
So the best place to start is free. I have a 20-minute guided audio, the, which I called Your First Conversation With Spirit, so you can go to [00:47:00] martathematium.com/gift, and from there, there are other options. Thank you for all that you're doing.
Karen: And your frequency, Marta, I hope for everybody who's been listening I know just in speaking for myself, just being with you and listening to you has been healing. Yes. has brought my frequency to a totally different place. And that reminder message, I truly wrote it down, come back to your own knowing, that we do know is such a good reminder for all of us as we're navigating this world, our lifetimes, our soul journey, and to remember that we're not alone, that we do have this team with us always that we can reach out to.
So thank you for all those reminders.
Marta: and thank you for having this conversation with me. Yeah. And thank you for what you're doing because it's very beautiful and you're bringing, You're allowing other people to really, explore this other realm, and people are having an opportunity to choose and experiment for themselves [00:49:00] what work and how they can establish a relationship with the other side.
So thank you.
Robyn: Thank you. Thank you. And I, just have to just end on that frequency. I think that is so true what Karen said, Marta, about your frequency. Like, I can't wait to go to martathemathemedium.com/gift and do that 20 minutes, because I feel more connected just even talking to you for this hour.
