The Expat Mom Podcast
This is a podcast for expat moms who want to improve their emotional health as they navigate the unique challenges of living and mothering abroad. Each episode shares one tool, idea or perspective shift you can apply immediately to your life and your family. I'm a certified life coach, an expat mom of 4 daughters, and married to a US diplomat. I’ve been abroad many of the last 20 years; I’ve lived on four continents, and in six different countries. I know what it’s like to be stuck emotionally and I know how to get unstuck. This podcast will show you how. How to Raise Anti-Racist Kids Part 1 with Rosemay Webster
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
As mothers, we have an important impact on shaping our children’s beliefs, preferences, and ideas. That means how we feel about others is often absorbed by them. Most of us have an implicit bias that we don’t even recognize. This is the first part of a two-part interview with Rosemay Webster discussing how we can raise anti-racist kids. The first essential part of raising anti-racist kids is becoming anti-racist yourself. In this episode, we will break down the difference between racism and discrimination. We’ll discuss microaggressions and implicit bias. We’ll discuss privilege; what it is and how to spend it. In the next interview, we will build on these principles and discuss how to apply them to mothering and raising anti-racist children.
