#07 Aileen O´Gorman - EURO HEALTH Podcast
Is it possible to draw a link between the socioeconomic status of individuals and addiction? This is one of the main questions addressed in a new episode of the Euro Health Podcast with Prof. Aileen O'Gorman whose work focuses on social inequalities in health and substance use disorders.
In the podcast, Prof. Aileen O´Gorman explains why certain population groups are at a higher risk of getting into substance use problems. What explains the high number of drug-related deaths among young people? Prof. O'Gorman says that one of the reasons is the system's inability to address co-existing mental health and substance use problems. What could be the specific solutions to this problem? How does she perceive the current interest of the younger generation in substance abuse education and risk protection? Find the answers to these questions and more in a new episode of the podcast on the subject of "addiction from a socioeconomic perspective".
