So in wisconsin in 2022, their supreme court made a ruling that created a new state law that absolved traffic victims of criminal liability for offenses committed as a direct result of being trafficked. This also extends to first degree intentional homicide. So let me tell you what that means. This law that was passed in wisconsin is saying if you are a victim of sex trafficking and you kill your abuser, you can be be essentially excused from that because of this.

So this woman, um crystal geyser she claims that on the day that he was killed he was trying to touch on her and up until this point he had been sex trafficking and molesting her since she was 16 years old. Now how they met. She had an ad out on craigslist. He was 33 years old at the time, she was 16. He responded to the craigslist ad. A couple days after they met they were like still talking back and forth through, I guess, the craigslist, like email chain or whatever. I don't know how that goes. She got arrested, he bailed her out and he used this as leverage to begin to sex traffic her. I pay for you to get out, so you got to do what I say.

Speaker 1But, he was never going to let her pay off the debt. Then he started molesting her. She got fed up, she said. One day she woke up he was trying to to touch her again inappropriately. She had a gun in her book bag that she had previously got a couple days before, because she said she was just tired of it. She said the next time he tried to do it she knew she she was going to kill him. That's where the first degree comes in. She shot him in the head, burned down his house, stole the car. Now, before we go any, further.
Speaker 2Right, I'm taking this all in. At what point did she not decide to say no, like it wasn't, like he had a gun to her head or any of these other things she seemingly willingly did? Did these things? At what point you did she say no, I?

No, this is the part where how old is she now? 20, 24, 24, now, yeah, this is. This is where. This is where the part where this is no, no, no. So the plea deal. They ended up scrapping all of that.
