Episode 27: Setting boundaries while giving zero f%$*s! AKA how to set them without feeling selfish or guilty
Mar 09, 2021 Season 1
Lauren Neuburger

I am sharing how to set boundaries without feeling selfish and guilty. Now, after I just finished applying these same steps in my own life I felt really called to share the four steps to setting boundaries without feeling selfish or guilty. Sharing real-life scenarios and how you can apply them today.

Topics discussed in this episode:

  • This missing link and the reason why your boundaries never stick (spoiler alert this is step one)
  • How to identify what areas or people or situations in your life require boundaries
  • Why your voice a powerful energy center and how to use it to set boundaries
  • How to be consistent in your boundary setting and sticking to them even if it feels uncomfortable at first

Key takeaways:

  • Your voice is the most powerful energy center in your body
  • Compassion is everything and calling it for yourself allows you to just witness your feelings without judgment
  • Stepping up and asserting your needs in a beautiful angelic assertive way that's in alignment with the highest version of you

Action step:

Remain committed to this process and follow these steps as often as you need, because this truly does have the power to radically change your life with compassion and consistency

“It's not just a surface-level activity that you're doing. You stepping up and setting boundaries around social media or around a person or around your care or around your meals. It's you stepping up and asserting your needs in this beautiful angelic assertive way that's in alignment with the highest version of you. It's actually rewiring the whole subconscious programming that led to people-pleasing and feeling guilty for setting boundaries in the first place.”

“The second someone needed help with something, or there was a party. You know, someone wanted me to make appetizers because I brought the best apps. I would drop everything and I would go. It didn't matter that I wanted and truly needed time to myself. I had said so many times that I was going to say no more and I needed a better self-care practice around saying, no, but I still found it really freaking difficult.”

Thanks so much for listening!
