Throughout Scripture, we see God’s standard of righteousness and our inability to meet it. The law and God’s dealings with His people throughout the Old Testament remind us of His holiness and our need for a Savior. The reality is that none of us can measure up on our own. As we continued in Matthew 5, we saw the good news: we don’t have to.
