Have you ever done something for someone else without it really meaning much to you? It’s easy to go through the motions, doing the right things without much thought behind them. Jesus warns against this in Matthew 6. Following Jesus isn’t about checking the boxes of prayer, generosity, or other spiritual disciplines. It’s about pursuing these things out of a genuine relationship with Him. Even when no one else notices, our Father sees us.
