As we discovered last week in our jesus loves : the world podcast titled The Mystery of the Latter Days, there were significant prophecies given to the people of Jewish lineage about the coming of their king. This was not an ordinary king. For this king has the keys to their destiny and the entire nation of Israel.
Not only the destiny of those of Jewish lineage, but even more significantly, He would be the king of all kings. He is the ultimate ruler who has the keys to destiny of all people, tribes and nations. Even the entire cosmos is in His hands! For He is the creator of it all.
In His coming is the age of true justice and perfect peace. Not just individual peace in body, mind, emotions and spirit, but perfect and complete peace throughout the entire cosmos. All wars and rumours of wars will cease. It will be a time when all nations will recognise the one true God as their king and live in the reality of His kingdom.
The prophecies concerning the king who has the keys to destiny were clear. He would be from the lineage of the Jewish king from their golden age. That is, from the lineage of king David.
The king of God’s kingdom is the king of all kings. He would not only be from the line of king David, but He would be born in the same town as king David. That town was Bethlehem.
The king of all kings, who has the keys to destiny, will establish His eternal kingdom on earth. For He is the eternal one. The prophets foretold that He will step down from everlasting, into our finite world. He would bring heaven to earth for all eternity they will become one.
In the latter days when the king who has the keys to destiny comes, His kingdom shall be exalted above all the empires of humanity and the evil one. As a result, fulfilment of the restoration of the entire cosmos, both the physical and spiritual realm will take place.
History proves that in a moment in time, the king of all kings, came down into His creation. He was born of the Holy Spirit, through a women in the town of Bethlehem. It was also known that He was from the lineage of David, the tribe of Judah. The beginning of the New Testament begins with this statement.
Matthew 1:1 The book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the Son of David, the Son of Abraham:
The king who has the keys to destiny came as a vulnerable little baby. Amongst those who testified of His birth was a prophet. His name was Simeon.
Luke 2:25-35 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord's Christ. So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law, he took Him up in his arms and blessed God and said: “Lord, now You are letting Your servant depart in peace, According to Your word; For my eyes have seen Your salvation Which You have prepared before the face of all peoples, A light to bring revelation to the Gentiles, And the glory of Your people Israel.” And Joseph and His mother marveled at those things which were spoken of Him. Then Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary His mother, “Behold, this Child is destined for the fall and rising of many in Israel, and for a sign which will be spoken against (yes, a sword will pierce through your own soul also), that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed.”
Jesus is the king who has the keys to destiny foretold by the prophets and the holy scriptures, all those centuries before He came.
He holds the keys to destiny, for both the Jew and non Jew. For He is the one to bring the glory to the people of Jewish lineage and the revelation of the one true God to the non Jew. As the Lord of destiny who became human, He is the giver of salvation to all people, tribes and nations. Everything is summed up in Jesus the king of all kings.
History tells us that the vulnerable baby Jesus, grew to be a man. The Spirit of God rested in Him and upon Him, testifying of Him and of God the Father in heaven.
God the Father in heaven testified that Jesus was His Son, of the same essences and together with the Spirt are one. Such a moment in time was in the presence of 3 of Jesus’ disciples. The Father sent HIs voice from heaven down to earth in Jesus. From the heavens He came. The Son of God became the Son of Man. The Father in heaven testified, ‘This is my beloved son… listen to Him.’
Jesus is God the Son. The one who stepped down from eternity into humanity’s darkness. He did it all to set humanity free. For it is true. The king of God’s kingdom who has the keys of destiny, became one of us.
Jesus declared that He was the one. For He opened the eyes of the blind and unblocked deaf ears. He healed the sick and proclaimed the kingdom of God had come on earth in His coming.
Matthew 11:2-6 And when John had heard in prison about the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples and said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?” Jesus answered and said to them, “Go and tell John the things which you hear and see: The blind see and the lame walk; the lepers are cleansed and the deaf hear; the dead are raised up and the poor have the gospel preached to them. And blessed is he who is not offended because of Me.”
Behold the king who has the keys to destiny. Anyone who is not offended by Him, who receives Him and His right to rule and reign, receives the kingdom. For with Him and in Him is His eternal kingdom of love, equality, honour and respect. The kingdom of God reflects the character of the king, the character of God.
Jesus brought His kingdom to both those of Jewish lineage and those who were not. Those who were not of Jewish lineage were called the gentiles.
Matthew 12:15-21 But when Jesus knew it, He withdrew from there. And great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all. Yet He warned them not to make Him known, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “Behold! My Servant whom I have chosen, My Beloved in whom My soul is well pleased! I will put My Spirit upon Him, And He will declare justice to the Gentiles. He will not quarrel nor cry out, Nor will anyone hear His voice in the streets. A bruised reed He will not break, And smoking flax He will not quench, Till He sends forth justice to victory; And in His name Gentiles will trust.”
In Jesus’ life, death, resurrection and ascension He brought justice and salvation to all who receive Him. Bringing equality and freedom. Each one equal and given full inheritance rights and access to the depths of the God the Father’s heart and His kingdom.
In Jesus’ life, death, resurrection and ascension, Jesus defeated death and lives forever more.
As the resurrected Jesus said when He appeared to the Apostle John when in exile on the island of Patmos.
Revelation 1:18 I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.
Jesus has the keys of Hades and of death.
The keys in this context is the power and authority to rule. Having conquered death, as the Son of God and Son of Man, Jesus has the power and authority to rule. For Jesus was physically dead and behold He is physically alive forevermore.
Jesus unlocks the destiny of all humanity. No longer are we bound by the fear of eternal death and judgement. For upon receiving Jesus, the king of all kings, we receive His inheritance. We walk in His name and on His pathway to eternity. To the heart of the Father God and an eternity together in the fullness of His kingdom.
Behold means to see, know and experience.
LORD give us the eyes to see through your eyes of eternity. By your Spirit, know and experience you more and more each day. For behold king Jesus, you are the king of all kings, who has the keys to destiny.
The resurrected Jesus, who is holy and true has the key. That is the authority to open and shut the door to the throne room of God. He is the king who has the keys to His kingdom and all creation.
Jesus is the open door through whom we are passed from destiny of death and darkness into life and light.
King Jesus has the authority over the seen and the unseen, the finite and infinite, the physical and spiritual. For He is the king who has the keys to destiny.
To all who receive Him and His right to rule and reign the risen Jesus states in Revelation 3:11-13 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown. He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”’
He who overcomes, that is remains faithful by worshipping only the eternal one true God, has been given Jesus’ victory over death. We have His crown of eternal life.
Jesus has set the captives free in defeating death. He paid the cost of humanity’s selfish desires enabling us to receive and believe.
Even tho we live in these end times, where evil abounds and the earth is wearing out like a garment. The truth remains. The latter days are coming with the return of the king of all kings.
He who is holy and true guarantees he will bring everything into being. He will make each disciple of Jesus a pillar in the temple of our God. We will stand in His love, truth and power, knowing we have a permanent place in His temple. A place of strength and intimacy deep in His heart.
The one who is holy and true guarantees it. He writes the name of our God and the name of the city of our God, the New Jerusalem.
The New Jerusalem that will come down from heaven. That is the intimate dwelling place of God that is deep in His heart will come down to us in our heart both physically and spiritually. For now, in Jesus we have that experience spiritually. But there will come a day when the two will become one. This will be the completion and perfection of us in Him.
Time is short. Through the eyes of eternity our time on earth is but a moment. Every day is a gift from God, sealed with His kiss of life.
We, His people need to see through our creator’s eternal eyes of love, truth and power. That is every disciple of Jesus. Not just select individuals but every disciple of Jesus. This vision is a gift from God foretold through His prophets and His holy scriptures.
Behold the king who has the keys to destiny is coming quickly. It will be in a twinkling of an eye. Until that time, we continue to prepare the way for His return.
We proclaim His coming. Testifying of the king of all kings, having received Him and His right to rule and reign.
Habakkuk 2:14 For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.
By your Spirit Lord, in your name, to the glory of our Father, as you speak it so be it Give us eyes to see it and live in the reality of it, in Jesus name Amen.
