On Episode 134 of Bouncing Back, I interviewed Jason Sturgill who is currently a freelance Illustrator/Art Director/Designer in Portland Oregon. This is also my 92nd episode in partnership with The Avail List.
Jason started a record label in the late 90s before pivoting to become an interactive producer, strategist, and then designer. He has always been a curator of the arts and is currently an Adjunct Professor teaching graphic design.
He’s passionate about ideas, loves working with people who have different experiences than him, knows when to lean on other people, and actually enjoys having a loose title so that he can play multiple roles.
Jason credits his weird career trajectory, and ability to think outside the box on unconditional ideas for why he has succeeded at such great companies like Wieden + Kennedy & Nike.
