Welcome to episode #47 of MIGS Front Page.
In this episode of the JMIG podcast, we’re thrilled to chat with Dr. Riley Young, Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
We’ll be discussing her article, “Work-Related Pain in Gynecologic Surgeons - A National Survey.” This national study revealed that over 95% of gynecologic surgeons experience pain during or after surgery and highlights an urgent need to address ergonomic factors in the operating room.
Dr. Young shares insights into how work-related pain impacts surgeon well-being, operative performance, and long-term career sustainability, and why formal ergonomic education should be a key part of resident training.
Tune in as we explore how the field can evolve to support surgeon health, longevity, and excellence in minimally invasive gynecology.
