Nadia Levett
I was born in Sydney’s Sutherland Shire in 1982.
My early life began with uncertainty - both of my birth parents experienced serious mental health challenges & by six weeks old, they were unable to care for me. I entered foster care through the Department of Community Services and became a ward of the state.
At 18 months, I met Helen and Alan, and after four long years navigating the court system, I was finally welcomed into their family. My adoption was made official just before my seventh birthday - a moment that marked a new beginning, but also left its own imprint.
Today, I’m committed to sharing my story & encouraging others impacted by adoption & foster care to do the same. Through the Australian Adoption Podcast, I seek to create a space where people feel heard, understood & connected.
A space for truth-telling, healing & belonging - not just in Australia, but globally.
