Draft Day Breakdown: NFL's First Round Picks Analyzed and Live Second Round Reactions
The NFL Draft has arrived, and this episode dives deep into the drama, surprises, and strategic choices that defined the first two rounds. From the moment Jacksonville made their blockbuster trade with Cleveland to move up for Travis Hunter, the excitement never lets up as our hosts break down every first-round selection with passion and expertise.
The conversation kicks into high gear with Travis Hunter's selection at #2 overall, sparking a fascinating debate about his potential to play both ways at the NFL level. Will the Jaguars use him primarily at cornerback, wide receiver, or truly attempt to make history with a full-time two-way player? The Browns' compensation package – including a 2025 first-rounder – raises questions about whether they got proper value for moving down.
We witness pure, unfiltered emotion as Jace absolutely melts down over Cincinnati's selection of Shamar Stewart at #17. Despite impressive physical tools, Stewart's college production (just 4.5 sacks in three years at Texas A&M) has Jace incredulous about the pick while challenging conventional wisdom about prioritizing potential over production.
The episode captures the fascinating subplot of Shedeur Sanders' dramatic fall, as he remains undrafted through two complete rounds despite being widely projected as a first-round talent. Our hosts dissect the potential reasons behind this surprising development while questioning ESPN analyst Mel Kiper's visible frustration throughout the broadcast.
Throughout the discussion, we spotlight several potential steals, including Baltimore landing Mike Green at pick #59 – a player many considered first-round talent who slipped due to off-field concerns. The Ravens and Seahawks emerge as early draft winners, while the Bengals draw criticism for reaching on multiple selections.
Whether you're seeking expert analysis of your team's selections or simply want to relive the excitement of draft night through the eyes of passionate football fans, this episode delivers everything you need to understand the potential impact of this draft class. Which rookies will make immediate impacts? Which teams addressed their weaknesses effectively? Tune in for our comprehensive breakdown of the NFL's next generation of talent.
Welcome back to the podcast. Today is Friday, April 25th.
Speaker 2:We're back to the podcast. We're back. The two, the duo, the amigos, the brothers, compadres.
Speaker 1:I almost blew up. I almost blew up.
Speaker 2:I almost flew up from me saying something or from something else. Yeah, I was trying to burp, oh, okay, well I. Yeah, you know what the moments where you think it's a burp and it's potentially throw up is one of, is one of the scariest feelings that you if you think you're gonna get something and you get something else, I think only second to you fart and you think it's about to be a fart and it's something, could be something different. I feel like it happens often to you.
Speaker 1:Moment of panic no, it doesn't happen to me often Come on. But it is one of those things that it's, but more than normal.
Speaker 2:No, no, no, it's not that it happened more than normal. I'm not on, but no, that's like one of those things that like, hey, you think you're gonna get something and it comes something else. It's like a very it's a panicky moment, it's a panic moment, depending on where you are. If you're at home, it's fine, cool, hopefully you're not on something that's gonna stain.
Speaker 1:But like if you're out and about, oh, my god, that's those farts are lord. Please tell me, it's me. There's mercy on my soul today.
Speaker 2:Yeah, dang. Yeah, that's a crazy little thing to think about. All right, so we've had a little moment there. Jace, it's been a minute since you've been on. Glad you're back, and just in time because the draft happened. We had the first round of the draft last night. We had the second round literally happening. As we're recording right now, it's 7.53 on Friday. So we're going to have plenty of little updates, because Jason's literally watching on my phone as we speak and I have the draft on the laptop here as we go Happy Earth Day, huh, happy Earth Day.
Speaker 2:Wasn't Earth Day. Earlier on this week it was.
Speaker 1:Wednesday, but you know, happy Earth Day For anybody that didn't know.
Speaker 2:I'm just saying I like, I really like animals so okay, real quick, before we get to the nfl draft stuff which is going to take up most of it. Have you watched any basketball, any playoff basketball? I've just forced myself to make little bets on things, so I just keep track. Even if I'm not sitting there watching the whole game, I'm at least like just taking some mental thought into looking at when the games are happening and all that. I just want to just give a general breakdown of how things are going and then we'll go into all the NFL draft stuff which is pretty much going to take up most of the podcast here, because you know we're an NFL podcast for the most part.
Speaker 2:So Thunder Grizzlies Thunder's currently up 3-0. They had a game last night. The Thunder were down like 20 something points and ended up coming back in this game and then going into game four, which I think is tomorrow. They're not. The Memphis Grizzlies aren't going to have John Morant. He's hurt, so he's not gonna be playing that game. So that series is pretty much a wrap.
Speaker 2:The first game that they played, the Thunder beat them by 50. Much a wrap. The first game that they played, the Thunder beat them by 50 1 51. It was bad, it was a blowout. It was never close. This series was pretty, was awful from the start. Again, the Grizzlies just aren't a great playoff basketball team, but I think it makes it look worse because of how great Oklahoma City is. They're great at everything, sure, uh? And let to be honest, in those games shea wasn't. He hasn't even really played like a lights out game yet and that and they're beating them that bad, like they're just. They're really good defensive team. They shoot three as well. Heck, they're number two. The um williams got uh, jalen williams, I believe, awesome number two. He just scores 20 points a night pretty consistently, without that, without a doubt.
Speaker 2:Nuggets Clips Clippers have a lead 2-1 in that series so far and they play their fourth game tomorrow. Jokic is a man by himself. None of the rest of his team is really not helping him whatsoever. The Clippers Kawhi is back to playing like Kawhi basketball. He's healthy. Again, we'll knock on wood on that because we never know when that's going to change, but Kawhi is healthy right now. He's playing great offense. James Harden is just doing his thing out there, assist, scoring plenty of points. James Harden's playing good ball, like it's just. The Clippers just have a little bit too much and the Nuggets aren't really able to keep up with Jokic.
Speaker 1:He's also playing good ball Fucking Russell Wilson, not Russell Wilson Westbrook Westbrook. Sorry dude, he did that first game.
Speaker 2:But it's just. Russell Westbrook has never meant to be the guy. He hasn't been this guy for a long time. He should not be your second most consistent player on your basketball team in the playoffs and unfortunately that this Denver team. Jamal Murray isn't necessarily consistent. He played a decent game last night but like he really hasn't been like the superstar he was when they went and won the championship. And Jokic is doing his thing. He's trying, but it's just. You know, they just don't have enough firepower because the often the offensively they just don't have enough around them and they don't really play all that great of defense either. So I think this is a foregone conclusion. The Clippers are probably going to win this series. But you know, how long is it going to take is really the question.
Speaker 2:Lakers-timberwolves the series is tied 1-1. They have a game tonight. This series is probably like the most back and forth so far. You have it's tied one-on-one. The Lakers look good in one game, the Timberwolves look good in the other. In the first game last game they kind of like did like a whole box in one zone against Anthony Edwards and really kept him from being able to do much offensively and they really made a little more difficult. But if the Timberwolves are able to play the defense like they have been playing, I think it's just gonna be a very good series, probably gonna go seven.
Speaker 2:I wouldn't necessarily say either way whether I really think who's gonna win. What I'd probably get give the edge to the Lakers, but this one's back and forth and I wouldn't be surprised at all if I see the Timberwolves win, because that's how, like when Anthony Edwards is on offensively and able to give it out to the shooters and they're making shots. Especially that first game in the series they looked very good. Game three of the Warriors and Rockets is going to be happening tomorrow. That series is tied one and one. I think going into this series everybody thought it was like a foregone conclusion. The Warriors were going to win because the Rockets are too young of a team and they're not really great offensively.
Speaker 1:Real quick. This dude's dad is not his dad. That's not his dad. His dad is a milkman.
Speaker 2:You're going to be freaking out about this dude until the day he gets out. We'll get to that, I promise Warriors-Rockets. This one's going to be freaking out about this dude until the this nigga's ass. We'll get to that, I promise Warriors Rockets. This one's going to be a Tough one. The Rockets can play good offense but it's just Not consistent. The game they had, I believe last night or the night Before, was pretty good and they Were able to beat the Warriors that game. But it's just at the end of the day. I think as long as the Warriors with Steph, with Jimmy, can kind of go out there and keep being consistent and get a little bit of help from Draymond offensively or Pajemski, the white guy, I think they should have won this series. But it has been a back-and-forth affair. But if the Rockets can find any type of consistent player to go to offensively I player to go to offensively I do think that they can make this a long series, make it very tough.
Speaker 2:Eastern side Cleveland Cavaliers in the heat. Cavs are up 2-0 in the heat. So far the Heat are playing decent ball. It's just the Cavs just have too much. They're a very well-balanced team. They have multiple scorers, they play pretty good defense and it's just the heat just cannot keep up offensively and they keep it close at times. It's just. It's just the Cavs just have a little bit of an extra gear. Obviously they have a guy like Donovan Mitchell, but I do have to give the heat a lot of credit that again the undermanned team they've been that for a long time. They used to be have Jimmy Butler as their main guy to kind of go to and they've now had a switcher tyler hero and I think tyler is playing very good ball. He's really kind of like become if you haven't been watching him play at all he has an all-around scorer. He's not sitting there shooting threes anymore. He really is. Uh, he's like really taken over that team and like he's really the identity. Um, he's scoring the ball from every all three levels. He can get to the bucket, he can assist. He really is kind of that offense is really kind of centered around him and he's playing very good ball and he's making good decisions. So I think Tyler here has really grown. Is he the best player on a championship winning team? No, obviously, but I think they're at least going out there and playing some decent ball and at least putting up a fight, because there are a lot of other series I've already talked about where these these games have been kind of terrible Pacers, bucks um, the Pacers are up 2-0 in the series so far.
Speaker 2:Uh, giannis is trying his hardest on a team with really nobody else. They didn't even have Dame until the last game that they played, where Dame was coming back off of over a month hiatus because he wasn't because he had a. I think they said he had a blood clot somewhere so he had to go on blood thinners and all that, which is crazy the fact that he's come back so soon. But again, he's not in basketball shape. He really wasn't ready to go. He tried his hardest last game but he wasn't able to give enough. I think he went one of like six or something like that from three. That's not what he necessarily does, but just the Bucs don't have enough. The Pacers if you haven't watched the Pacers play basketball recently, they get up and down the court Tyrese Halliburton has really become a really good assist guy making a really good playmaker and they're just playing up and down and I just don't think the Bucs have enough to really win this series and the Pacers are an all-around better basketball team.
Speaker 2:Two more series, then we go to the NFL. Jace, I promise Knicks, pistons, this has been a back and forth. New York is up 2-1 in this series. They are going to win this series because they just have a little bit more veteran kind of play. And I just think the Pistons, even though they got to this spot, they're a six seed. They had a very good season. And why am I forgetting the one guy's name, cade Cunningham? Very good player and, honestly, at some point looks like the best player on the floor. I think they played very good ball. But it's just. The Knicks have a little bit too much veteran leadership and they know what they're doing out there. They've played a lot of playoff basketball and the Knicks have just, they came out and played good ball. Cat had a really good game last game. The Knicks should win this series. Just how long it's going to go is really the question.
Speaker 2:And the last but not least, celtics, magic.
Speaker 2:Celtics are up 2-0 in the series.
Speaker 2:The Magic just don't have enough.
Speaker 2:They come out and play some good ball. Celtics just have a little bit of extra gear. They have heck. They just have a full team right now. They do have, uh, jason tatum dealing with a wrist injury. Who knows how real, serious that is that he experienced from game one, I believe. But as long as celtics have everybody good to go, they're going to be able to win this series. And it's just celtics just too good of a basketball team and I think they're probably the favorite in the east, to be totally honest with you, because they just have their formula just keeps working, and that's about all the short and long of it, of that.
Speaker 2:So I just wanted to give a basketball update, because we have a podcast in a minute. I am watching basketball, so it's something I care about, so I just wanted to give it out there. But let's go ahead and get to the stuff you know we truly, truly are into when it comes to the NFL draft. Jace, you ready to go, jace? Oh no, this isn't good, jace. You good, you weren't answering me for a second. I was worried. No, I was just asking are you ready to go to the NFL draft stuff? Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1:I don't give a shit about basketball.
Speaker 2:I know I'm sorry. Okay, I just wanted to give updates, that's it All right, let's go ahead and give the recap to the NFL draft stuff last night. Let's let's just go through it. Cam Warden pick number one Easy pick. Everybody thought that was going to happen. Pick two Honestly, all the madness started because before the draft it was like news that the Browns and the Jaguars were talking about a trade and everybody was like, oh, this is going to happen, it's finally going to happen. And really the news didn't come out until right. As the Browns pick came up, jags were able to trade up. For what was the trade? I forget.
Speaker 1:I want to make sure to have the trade details right First round pick next year, their second round pick this year and something else. That's just what I remember. I think that was everything.
Speaker 2:Let's see, let me look it up real quick.
Speaker 1:I just want to make sure I have the trade details Browns and Jags trade.
Speaker 2:Okay, so the trade was Jags receipt get the number two pick overall and in exchange they swapped picks. So the Browns ended up going back to five. Three the Browns went to five the browns went to five, probably to three.
Speaker 1:The jags weren't five, they were three no, the jags were at five.
Speaker 2:They got the 36 overall pick in the second round and then the 126 pick in the fourth round and then they got the jags first round pick for next year, which is a lot. I'm not gonna lie when because our our uh Browns fan that we know Jake he was kind of like I, he didn't want to give up anything, he didn't want to go for a quarterback, he just want to sit there and take Travis. But they did get a lot and my only question is is that they traded back to five? They did get um, the defensive tackle from Michigan, mason Graham. But the question is everybody considered Travis Hunter the best talent in the whole draft and maybe I guess, if you look at it, maybe he's not going to be able to give you the same type of effect that he usually can give everybody else, because the Browns already have a corner number one corner on their team.
Speaker 1:They really don't need him to be that and I think wide receiver-wise, like they could have used him. Every edge rusher I've seen taken is so much better than the one we took. This dude had 10 and a half sacks, donovan Izuriku Izuraku From Boston College. He had 10 sacks this past year. Who did he get taken? The Cowboys Dang. Why do we take the run, one motherfucker, and don't get sacked? I don't understand you guys. What do you do? Are these the same scouts that drafted John Ross? If they are, fire them.
Speaker 2:I doubt that.
Speaker 1:It has to be. They just went off. Oh, his common was so good Because let's be honest In reality, before the combine, he was a projected fourth-round pick.
Speaker 2:No, he was a first-round pick Off of what? Him being a physical freak.
Speaker 1:Okay, so off his combine results. Yeah, like I said before the draft, he's probably a projected fourth-round pick, if that he has no tools.
Speaker 2:Jason's going to be freaking out about this pick forever. It's going to be a problem, but no, they trade up to get Travis Hunter. He's going to help them wide receiver for Trevor Lawrence. He's going to help them at corner because they really don't have a corner they really believe in. If there's anywhere that Travis can go and really do both and really try it, I think the jags have a need for both. Do I think that lasts long term? I don't think so, but I just think they're going to be. They're going to give them the chance to try. And here's the funny thing if you had to choose jace, which organization is worse? Run the jags, the browns organization is worse, run the jags the browns.
Speaker 1:I don't think that's a hard I don't think it's an easy question to answer. No, that's kind of what I was thinking about.
Speaker 2:The jags have the billionaire owner, like he's awesome, like, but they they're not really great browns.
Speaker 1:The browns definitely worse you sure? Because I think the browns are a series of unfortunate ass fucking events and bad decisions. I think the Browns are a series of unfortunate-ass fucking events and bad decisions. I think the Jags at least have—they can draft good players, they can sign good players. The Browns are like we have Myles Garrett and that's about it. Oh, we have Deshaun Watson. We're paying a shit ton of money. So JT Tuamola was taken by the Colts.
Speaker 2:Was he really yeah, oh, that's awesome, that's awesome. Was he really yeah, oh, that's awesome. That's awesome. I'm so happy for him, holy F, I'm so I'm happy for all the Buckeyes I've been picked so far. He was drafted too high. Who?
Speaker 1:JT.
Speaker 2:No, he wasn't.
Speaker 1:For a dude that disappears a lot in big games, drafted too fucking high.
Speaker 2:In the playoff run. He did not disappear. He was awesome again, again, when it mattered the most surely better than who you were playing.
Speaker 1:He still disappeared. That organ game gone, nowhere to be seen the first organ game, not the second one yes, I know, but again he did. He did the year before too.
Speaker 2:He didn't blossom to what he was supposed to be yeah, but I just think he's a very good run stuffer. He doesn't he's not, maybe not he's gonna be a double sack per year type of guy, but he's going to be a very solid player that's going to be playing in the NFL for a long time. And again, I would understand what you're saying if he was a first-round pick. But he's a second-round pick. They don't need him to be a star. He can go out there and just be a.
Speaker 1:I understand, but I still think Jack Sawyer was better.
Speaker 2:I think Jack Sawyer. Again, he doesn't have the physical tools that JT does. That's how it works.
Speaker 1:I agree, but I still think Jack Sawyer has a better chance of being the star.
Speaker 2:I think Jack Sawyer has a higher floor. I think JT has a higher ceiling. I think that's probably how they're doing it?
Speaker 1:I don't think that's true. I think Jack Sawyer has a higher ceiling because of how athletic he is.
Speaker 2:How athletic do you think he is?
Speaker 1:JT is more athletic yeah but he didn't disappear in the biggest moments. He was the guy in the biggest moment.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yes, but they both were amazing during the playoff run, I know, but Throughout the times, everybody thought they both disappeared at times, but Jack Sawyer during, but he didn't, though.
Speaker 1:He was one that was always there.
Speaker 2:No, I'm saying during his first couple years there, people were wondering like hey, is he ever going to have the sack numbers? He probably should, because Jack Sawyer was the top 10 player coming out of high school, so they were looking at him as the next Bosa. Obviously, neither of them are that, but they both showed up when they absolutely had to in the playoff run and they went and won a championship. And I'm glad for both of them because, let's be honest, jack Sawyer will get drafted in the second round sometime. It's just when.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I know, take 48.
Speaker 2:Chase is hoping, but you're already in the pass rusher. It's fine, you don't need both. That nigga's ass. Travis Hunter is going to be great for the Jags and I think somebody made this good point. Is that now Trevor Lawrence, as much as he's the prince and people call him that he?
Speaker 1:He's the prince and people call him that.
Speaker 2:He's not going to be the biggest draw of that team anymore. Travis Hunter will be, which I think in a sense they're trying to say that it'll take the pressure off of Trevor Lawrence and I'm like, well, if you want him to be your number one guy, your quarterback for your team, he should not be wanting to shy away from that. But you know, let's not go too far into that. It doesn't make sense here. Abdul Carter went three to the Giants Very chalk pick. Everybody thought that was going to happen. They take him. He's going to be a very good defensive line. Let's be honest Throughout this next season it's going to be very hard to score on this Giants team because of how many pass rushes they have. Good luck on third and eight.
Speaker 1:Good luck, you don't have to score many. Just like twice. True, but you just said it's cool like twice.
Speaker 2:True, but they're going to be a menace.
Speaker 1:They have so many passers It'll suck while you're trying to do it but yeah, again, you just have to wait until the fourth quarter, where the defense is like damn, we've played more than half the game.
Speaker 2:Again. They address the quarterback issue. Later on We'll talk about it. Fourth pick Will Campbell pick everybody's been saying that for a while will campbell, short arms and all. He played very good at lsu. He didn't stop from doing it there. He may not have the most physical tools but he will go in there. He will be a guy right away, that kind of set a culture and he will be a good player bro was on the camera, looked at him.
Speaker 1:She was like how are you gonna protect rick mays? Like I'm gonna live and die protected him and this thing is crying'm like I believe him.
Speaker 2:I believe him. No, he didn't, I believe him.
Speaker 1:Now his arms are short.
Speaker 2:They are short. But he made it work at LSU. And even worst case scenario they can throw him in at guard and he'll be great at guard, I agree.
Speaker 1:But I think he's just quick. I think that's where he gets most people he's, so I believe he can play. I believe he can play tackle.
Speaker 2:I believe once he gets to somebody who has longer arms it's going to be a problem. It's going to be something he has to work through. But here's the thing Mike Vrabel, he knows defense and offensive line. Think about the last team he coached, the Tennessee Titans. They did it with being able to run the football and stop the run. If Mike Vrabel is cool with it, they'll make it. I, that's the guy. I truly know what he's doing there. Um, pick five, mason graham. We already kind of mentioned the browns to trade back. It's kind of a crazy thing, like they don't want to get ran on, but I'm like, isn't that already kind of a? At that spot there really is nobody else to pick for what they need.
Speaker 1:So it just made sense they had the extra first round pick next year they could have, but apparently nobody's saying yes, sure, right now he's the last. He's three quarterbacks off the board and you're still sitting there he's still sitting.
Speaker 2:It's insane. We'll get to the door in a minute because I'm like the I'm not sure how much of the espn broadcast you saw, but I have a huge problem with that. Um, pick six ashen genti running back went to the raiders makes total sense. Everybody said it from the get-go Y'all needed a back.
Speaker 1:Y'all needed defense. Y'all could have really drafted anything.
Speaker 2:They could have, but I think the Raiders think they're closer to winning than we all think they are.
Speaker 1:I don't know what they see.
Speaker 2:They got Gino Smith to be their quarterback, so they're going to get better quarterback play in general. They don't have Outside of Tyler. Nope, nope, the tight end from Georgia.
Speaker 1:Brock Bowers. Brock Bowers, Outside of him. They have no other pass catchers. They have Will Mayer. Yeah, they do have Mayer.
Speaker 2:They don't have any wide receivers, though. Myers Josh Myers, I believe, is their only guy that really did anything. Brock.
Speaker 1:Bowers is a slightly bigger receiver.
Speaker 2:True, but they need more.
Speaker 1:You could just throw him out at receiver and have Myers play tight end yeah.
Speaker 2:They're off the line.
Speaker 1:Ain't bad, so Gentoo's going to go in there and make an impact right away, but it's just as long as with their next pick they go defense, then it makes sense, because if y'all don't go defense, you go offense again.
Speaker 2:Pete Carroll is over 70 years old. He's not going to be down for pretty much a rebuild, so they're going to try to get this up and going as fast as possible, and adding a guy like Jenty is a good way to do that.
Speaker 1:Rams drafted Terrence Ferguson tight end Oregon.
Speaker 2:Very good pick for them. Very good pick. They need defense. Their defense was actually pretty good last year. Yeah, their DBs are not.
Speaker 1:No, they were. They weren't terrible, but they weren't good.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but I can see why there's no great DBs to take at that spot. And getting Matthew Stafford another tight end to be able to throw to and Ferguson can block he's okay at Oregon. In doing that, I was right, oregon right, pretty good. Pick seven armand membu um office tackle right. Tackle for the jets makes total sense, good pick.
Speaker 2:Pick eight this one was a weird one. I I, when I did my draft, my um, my pre-draft thing, I had them taking warren to try to help out. Oh boy, um, nope, nope, nope. Bryce young, try to help out. Help out Bryce Young at the quarterback position. He was playing well at the end of last year. They don't really have a lot of they're. His best receiver is a 35 year old, adam Thielen. So I was like maybe you can give him a pass catcher to be able to do something. And they went and took that Again. I wasn't very high on Tep McMillan but apparently they were. They were willing to get him. Him. He's gonna be a big target for um for Bryce Young to go ahead and throw to.
Speaker 2:I think it's good pick. I'm not. I'm not a big fan of the receiver but for the need that they have. Very good pick for them. Pick nine Saints Calvin Banks tackle for them. They don't have a quarterback, at least until pick round two, where they have Tyler Shuck. But like it didn't. It didn't make sense at the time, but it's a good pick. He's going to be a good offensive tackle. He's a little slow, but outside of that he knows what he's doing out there. He played very well at Texas. Pick 10, colson Loveland for Michigan. For the Bears. Nobody thought that Colson Loveland was going to be the first tight end picked over Tyler Warren, but how people are talking about him right now.
Speaker 1:Will Johnson to the Cardinals.
Speaker 2:Very good pick. I hate to say that about a Michigan guy, but it's a good pick for the need Just a little longer.
Speaker 2:Good pick for the need. Awesome pick for the need. Love one Very good tight end. People are comparing him to Travis Kelsey. It makes sense For what he was at Michigan. They didn't use him as much as they probably could have last year because of how bad their quarterback play was, but like he can run all the routes as a tight end you need. He's not a great blocker. You're gonna have to work on that. But think about Will Nope, the court of the coach for them. Johnson. Will Johnson, ben Johnson, ben Johnson, the head coach for that team. Think about the offense he came from with the Lions. They had a great tight end they dealt with there. Being able to get Caleb Williams a very good tight end to be the security blanket and to be a very dynamic weapon for them is huge. So Colston Lovin a very good pick that he's going to be a monster. He's going to be probably one of the better tight ends by the end of the next season because of how good he is and I think he'll be very dynamic.
Speaker 2:Pick 11, san Fran Michael Williams the edge out of Georgia. Put him on the other side of Nick Bosa. Be able to learn from him. They're going to have a very good pass rusher you're going to have to deal with. They have so many other needs they probably need to deal with, but at this spot they really couldn't go anywhere else. It was a need that they definitely needed.
Speaker 2:Big 12, tyler Booker from the Office of Guard from Alabama. Nobody understood this for the Cowboys why they would pick him. Because there's other linemen that they could have taken that are more talented than him. There was tackles on the board they could have taken. They need wide receiver help. They could have taken there. They need wide receiver help. They need guys to help on their off the side of the ball. They could take a running back. They need a running back help. Like they had so many things on the board they could have taken. They took a guard which is like insane. Tyler Booker is known as like a stalwart type of guy he can. You know what's funny? Their last three first-round picks that they have taken have all been named Tyler.
Speaker 1:That's funny.
Speaker 2:Insane. So this one doesn't make sense. They could have gone running back. They could have gone Omar and Hampton. They could have gone wide receiver. They could have taken the guy out of Texas. They could have taken Emeka Ibuka. They could have had other guys to put of, put on the other side of CD land to help him out, but they decided to go guard, which is insane to me. But you know he'll be. Tyler Brook is going to be a good player. It's just at this spot I'm not sure with the uh if the value was there for the position.
Speaker 2:Pick 13, kenneth Grant um, the Dolphins take him out of Michigan. Very good defensive tackle. He's very big a run stopper, because everybody that beat the Miami Dolphins last year were able to run the football right down their throats and with a guy like Kenneth Grant will definitely be a huge run stuffer for them. So definitely a good pick. As long as he can kind of keep his weight under control and he's all good, I think they will have a very good player for years to come.
Speaker 2:Pick 14, tyler Warren. It was a very easy pick for the Colts. Everybody was saying they were going to pick a tight end. It's just everybody thought it was going to be Colson Loveland, but he got picked earlier. Tyler Warren makes good sense. I'm not sure which quarterback's going to be throwing them in the ball, but he's at least going to be a weapon they can use. I don't know, know. My only question was they could have gone defense. I'm like why would you invest in a quarterback you're not even sure it's going to be good for you for years to come? But I don't know. It's either going to be daniel jones or, um, I'm afraid the other quarterback, um, not trent richardson, um no drew lock the other quarterback Richardson.
Speaker 1:Drew Locke no no. Anthony Richardson, Anthony.
Speaker 2:Richardson. Next one Jalen Walker, pick 15, atlanta Falcons. They have one of the least amount of sacks in the NFL for the last five years or so. They decided to change that. They went and picked Jalen Walker, the linebacker out of Georgia. You mean most sacks? Huh, you said the least amount of sacks linebacker out of Georgia. Pretty much ever since the Super Bowl where they gave up that huge lead to the Patriots, they have been terrible at getting after the passer and they decided to take the trap to go ahead and change that all around. They went and traded back up into the first round to take another guy later on that I'll talk about.
Speaker 2:But Jalen Walker very good pass rusher, going to be able to kind of be a tweener. Did play a lot more linebacker in college but I just think that he'll be able to do enough getting after the passer. That I think that's what he'll mostly be doing at the NFL level, kind of rushing from the outside. Pick 16 Walter Nolan for uh, for the Carolina uh, nope, sorry, for the Arizona Cardinals Out of Ole Miss. Very good defensive tackle. Be able to rush after the passer, very good player. He probably has the highest ceiling of all the guys you could probably take. At the defensive tackle position. He's going to be able to do a lot of good things. Arizona Cardinals that's one of the things they definitely need is to be able to get after the passer, especially from the inside. They're going to be able to do a lot of good work with him at that spot, pick 17.
Speaker 1:This is your time. This is your time to rant. Sorry, ladies and gentlemen.
Speaker 2:I've been kind of dozing off. He said a long day, it's okay. Yeah, it's been a long day.
Speaker 1:It's been a long week.
Speaker 2:This is your time to freak out, Shamar Stewart.
Speaker 1:Tex A&M. Huh, no, nothing. My bad, my bad, my bad. False alarm False alarm.
Speaker 2:You got me excited for nothing. That's crazy.
Speaker 1:It was the Texans and I was confused for a second because they were showing Shador and I was like what?
Speaker 2:Why.
Speaker 1:That's exactly it. I was like no, sorry, I've been having brain lapses. I've been trying to focus and stay away from my head. It's just going.
Speaker 2:Shemar Stewart. Four and a half sacks in three years at Texas A&M Not great production. Everybody's calling him a physical monster. Everybody's saying if he works out he can be the next Myles Garrett. If that works out, that's a great pick.
Speaker 1:We're going to be giving this name Parkinson's, to make him Myles Garrett.
Speaker 2:I just think either way, either you have Hendrickson, you're going to need another guy on the other side of the pen anyway, if you don't have Hendrickson.
Speaker 1:Real quick. That's the other thing I'm worried about is we're going to have Henderson his last year. He's going to play and he's going to make Smart Stewart look good, because Henderson gets doubled and triple teamed.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:So Smart Stewart's like, oh, I got one guy. And they're like, oh, we don't need Trey Henderson. They're going to put this nigga out there on the loan against the left. Tackle, you're going to have to face the best guy. Yeah, and someone's going to stuff you. Yeah, trey Hendrickson was good, but like dude, like it's. They took no Ariante Easerberry from Minnesota. Oh.
Speaker 2:Ursary, ursary, oh Lyman.
Speaker 1:Yes, that makes sense. Very good, lyman out of Minnesota His name is so black I don't know how to say it that makes sense.
Speaker 2:Very good lineman out of Minnesota, His name is so black.
Speaker 1:I don't know how to say it. Is he a?
Speaker 2:guard or is he a tackle? He's a left tackle.
Speaker 1:They need that so bad, larry Thompson is old, they traded him. I know he's old. Yeah, that was just the problem. He's not like he's bad, he's a hard hitter.
Speaker 2:They just didn't want to pay him.
Speaker 1:They just didn At some point very soon. Yeah, it's a very good pick. I just I see what they see. I see his combine results. I see what he is as an athlete he's insane. I just see the production on the field and I'm like If he couldn't do it in the SEC.
Speaker 2:He played 38 games, he played, he played yeah, he started.
Speaker 1:he's a true fucking junior. This nigga's been playing since his freshman year. Yeah.
Speaker 2:And been starting the last two years.
Speaker 1:So he has not gotten better.
Speaker 2:That's your main job when you're playing defensive end is go get after the passer, and if you're not doing that, even if you're in the SEC, something's wrong. So the question is do the, do the Bengals think that they can be the team to kind of bring that out of him and make him that guy? And from all that I know, I guess the only thing they really made right was getting a guy like Henderson. And I guess you can say why am I forgetting the other, Sam Hubbard? Those two guys were probably the best defensive picks they probably made in a while.
Speaker 1:Logan Wilson.
Speaker 2:Wilson too, yes, for sure.
Speaker 1:Jordan Battle be made in a while in a while, logan wilson, wilson too, yes, for sure, jordan battle it's pretty good, yes, yes, I can see him developing. Yeah, you're not wrong bangles.
Speaker 2:Better pick fun, fun. Hopefully it's something to make you happy. Um, you have anything else for my steward?
Speaker 1:you're just gonna be like it's yet to be seen I'm like, I feel like I'm getting the same feeling of miles murphy.
Speaker 2:He was a physical freak yeah, we played d, played D-Tackle. He was supposed to be a run-stuffer and he never really became that, but I think he wasn't even that much of a physical freak coming out of college. I see what you're saying, though it's definitely Motherfucking Jack Sawyer, did you really? Yes, my nigga. No, you didn't. No, you didn't.
Speaker 1:I'm looking at it. You didn't take Jack Sawyer. I don't know who DeMarcus Knight Jr is.
Speaker 2:I've never heard of that man.
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:What does he play? Linebacker, they need defense. They should not take one offensive player in this draft at all. Maybe another running back, but outside of that nothing.
Speaker 1:They need guards yeah, you're not wrong and a right tackle and a left tackle. They need an O-line.
Speaker 2:That would help.
Speaker 1:Jake just said Bengals with two reaches so far, and I agree because I don't know who this nigga is.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I agree. No, I agree, shamar Stewart, less of a reach, but that guy they just took him.
Speaker 1:That thing is the biggest reach in the NFL draft.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no, I see both sides, I see the projection, but when it comes to what he did in college, definitely not enough. Next pick pick 18, seahawks.
Speaker 1:Graves, abel, they had the same amount of sacks. Our linebacker in the address where you got the linebacker, only played 22 total games. No, this nigga is another combine bandit, is he really? He ranked first amongst linebackers on every stat.
Speaker 2:Oh, I see, Okay, okay.
Speaker 1:Fire every scout we have.
Speaker 2:The scouts will make the decision. Unfortunately, fire the fire. The people making the decision the court, the coach and the gm. Gray's able uh, the officer guard from north kota state for the seattle seahawks makes total sense. Very good pick. One thing that they took in Sam Darnold he hates interior pressure. He sees anybody in his face, he freaks out. So when they signed him, the first thing they needed was definitely to get guys to protect him, and getting a guy like this to be able to help protect the inside is definitely a huge help. They need wide receivers very bad no-transcript, but like they just needed somebody in the inside to kind of help protect him. And I think Gray's able great pick, pick 19,. This is the start on the Buckeyes. Tampa Bay Buccaneers take Emeka Igbuka, ohio State wide receiver Great pick. Do they necessarily need him to be their number one guy right away? No, but he can go in there, he can play the slot right away and once the other older receivers start kind of making their way out, he'll be able to take over.
Speaker 1:It's Mike Evans. I think they're preparing for Mike Evans to start making his way to retirement.
Speaker 2:Who's the other wide receiver? Chris Godwin, he just he coming off a broken something last year like he's acl tear, but I think they're more preparing for mike evans.
Speaker 1:Dude him and cam hayward been the nfl same at a time yeah, you're not wrong and eventually it's gonna get to him it, which is, I find funny as fuck. They've both been elite their entire careers no one's talked about that they've both been consistently elite. Yeah, um, I hate and love cam hayward with a passion. Yeah, fuck that nigga. But I can't do anything to give him my respect.
Speaker 2:Yeah no doubt.
Speaker 1:To do that at a level like that for so long and no one really recognized you, because you're not Aaron Donald, he's a Hall of Famer.
Speaker 2:There's nothing you can say against him, Not for lack of production. He's pretty close to Aaron Donald in pretty much everything, but he didn't have an Aaron Donald name. He said it himself and I believe him, but it's just.
Speaker 1:You know, I don't know, I don't know.
Speaker 2:Mech he's going to be. It's a luxury pick because, honestly, the Buccaneers are a very good football team.
Speaker 1:They're pretty good. They could have probably used, maybe, safeties.
Speaker 2:They could have used probably a linebacker.
Speaker 1:A linebacker, but again they're a second and third-round pick.
Speaker 2:second and third round picks Again, luxury picks. They didn't necessarily need anything, they could just go whatever player they thought was going to be a good fit for them.
Speaker 1:And I think Emeka's a great fit. I agree there was no premium defensive players right now. Yeah, Especially where they were sitting. So I think going for hey, this will help us in the next four or five years.
Speaker 2:They put the call up of them calling Emeka on Twitter X, and then what they said was the coach for the Buccaneers. Hey, if you just do what you did in college, you'll be great here. And I'm like, guess what? He's a grown man. He will do what he needs to do and he'll go on there and be a thousand yard receiver every year. He may not ever be a triple crown guy, but he will go and get thousands and thousands of yards and probably be a hall of famer by the time he's done, because he will just he'd be consistent and everything except yards.
Speaker 1:Yeah, he'll have the catches, he'll have the touchdowns, he's will have the yards exactly he'll end up with 1100 yards. Uh, 14 touchdowns and 88 receptions.
Speaker 2:Just not enough yards great player in the community. Great person in the community. He's a great person. Guess who you'll never hear, like, say a bad word about anybody? Or you'll never hear anybody say a bad word about him? He'll never have to worry about him. He is a grown man and he is a great person, um, and he does what he needs to do, so definitely a great pick. Pick 20 johnny baron um. The broncos pick the cornerback out of texas. He's not an outside corner, he's more of like a guy that will probably hit the slot or play safety, but he's a very good player. He'll be able to do a lot of good things and the Broncos defense was actually already pretty good last year, so being able to add a guy like this is only going to make them better. Pick 21, pittsburgh Steelers take Derek Harmon, the defensive tackle, out of Oregon.
Speaker 1:Good pick.
Speaker 2:Very good pick. I was scared they were going to take Shador, because everything I would assume they were going to. Everybody was like Mike Tomlin loves Shador, and I'm like no, no, no, no, no, no. I was wigging out hoping that it didn't happen. Because here's the thing, everybody and we'll talk Shador right now, because this is kind of like the spotlight.
Speaker 1:Elijah Arroyo, yes.
Speaker 2:Very good pick, very good pick. Is he off the tackle? Tight end. Yes, awesome, awesome, tight end.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but y'all need the receivers. They do. He's not exactly that.
Speaker 2:You're not wrong, but he's a very good pass catcher, though Very dynamic, tight end.
Speaker 1:It was one short in the Miami record.
Speaker 2:Yeah, awesome. So with Shador, like I said earlier, I'm not sure if you watched the ESPN broadcast, but we saw Mel Kiper. They have like an 8 minute clip of him just complaining Throughout the whole first round last night Of him complaining about Shador being his number one quarterback. They have like an eight minute clip of him just complaining throughout the whole first round last night. I've been complaining about his should or being his number one quarterback and why hasn't anybody picked up for Shador yet? He almost brought the whole. He brought the whole vibe down for all these 32 guys that were having their dreams come true, because he was like why are they take your door? Why, why, why, why, why. He's freaking out, and I was saying it last night, I don't trust that man's quarterback knowledge.
Speaker 1:Because he was. He don't speak good English.
Speaker 2:Arroyo.
Speaker 1:Yeah, no, he's from Cancun, Mm-hmm, that's just a great place to be from. Yeah, I didn't know, they spoke Spanish.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that makes sense.
Speaker 1:I didn't. I guess they thought that hey, they're basically In South America, are they a part of the Caribbean?
Speaker 2:I think so.
Speaker 1:Or are they connected to South America? I think, We'll never afford to go there. I'm not yet.
Speaker 2:But no, I stopped trusting Mel Kuyper's quarterback knowledge when he was the guy that was standing on the table For For Will Levis.
Speaker 1:That boy can burn God damn. But yeah, when he was the guy that was standing on the table for Will Levis, that boy can burn.
Speaker 2:Yeah, he's insane, but yeah, when he was the guy that was sitting on the table for Will Levis I stopped believing in his quarterback knowledge. So him complaining last night and kind of bringing on the whole vibe of the draft because he was Shador is my number one guy. Why is anybody taking?
Speaker 1:Shador Was like the most insane thing of all time, because he's your number one guy. Yeah, whoever you're picking as number one guy is who I'm avoiding.
Speaker 2:Guess what? Nobody's calling you to ask who they should pick.
Speaker 1:Nick Skorton from Texas A&M.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, good. Yes, defensive end yeah, he's really good.
Speaker 1:So why do we take the other address on the other side of him?
Speaker 2:Because Skorton doesn't have the physical attributes. He doesn't, but he did produce more.
Speaker 1:He had 13 sacks so he did the rest of the work. But yeah, I just like I can see my guy getting blocked and Gordon go get in the sack.
Speaker 2:So my biggest problem with Shador is that we watched 32 teams all have a chance to pick last night and none of them picked Shador. And then now, ever since then, everybody is trying to make Shador out to be somebody who was wronged.
Speaker 1:He was a bad person.
Speaker 2:What happened? Oh, you're so afraid about Nick Skorton, Dean Dagan, another team Because I'm watching my guy get blocked.
Speaker 1:I'm watching another dude's highlights and in his highlights I'm watching my guy get fucking stuffed. So I'm watching who did all the actual work. But my guy was just 6'6", 267. Yeah, and ran like a 4'4". This nigga can run, he can move. Go be a track star. Go do track and field my nigga. You need skill to play these games. Play these sports. You didn't develop.
Speaker 2:But yeah, the idea that everybody tried to make out shador to be a guy that was hurt out, wronged by the system, I I just don't like. I didn't like that narrative that was being painted at all. I just think at the end of the day, everybody believes shador wasn't good enough to be taken as a first round pick. He's not. It can be just that simple. Everybody's like oh, now it's about his dad and I'm like, at the end of the day, there has been players with more baggage that have been taken in the first round because a team thought that they had enough physical talent. If somebody thought that your door was going to be have a chance to be a top flight quarterback for them, they would have taken him in the first round.
Speaker 2:But what everybody knows, even me, they, like a lot of people, know more football than I ever have ever going to know. They'll probably forget more football than I'll ever know, but I watch him and I'm like he'll be a. We played this game yesterday because I was freaking out about Shador and I'm like Jace, give me best case scenario on what Shador can be in the NFL, because the way I see it, his best case is being Geno Smith, and if that's his best case, I don't need to take him in the first round.
Speaker 1:I gave him a better, best case, if you guys want to know what was yours.
Speaker 2:I think you said Kirk, yeah, but I'm like, if that's all that he can be, because I don't think he'll ever be a top 10 quarterback in the NFL. I don't think he'll be bad in the NFL, I just think he'll never be a top flight.
Speaker 1:He's a slight guy. What you're banking on is his sheer fucking accuracy. And I don't know, man, I truly can't tell you.
Speaker 2:And apparently the NFL can't either, because nobody's taken him yet and there's been three quarterbacks taken so far and he hasn't been touched. Man who, the?
Speaker 1:fuck picked already. I'm watching somebody from UCLA Defensive player. I'm guessing Defensive end DT.
Speaker 2:Somebody's fast.
Speaker 1:He looks like a DT Ola Wojog.
Speaker 2:Trying to hear Jace say these people's names is very funny Ola Jo. There's two.
Speaker 1:J'says shador is not good enough.
Speaker 2:It just is what it is. I'm glad the steelers aren't going to take him. I'd rather go into next year and have to pick up a quarterback and just go with aaron rogers this year, rather than do this or take, go, take will howard at least I've seen him like do some dynamic things in college football oh, he'll go too, but like somebody's gonna take fedora they probably should, but it's just the idea that he was wronged and he should have been a first round guy. I think people that wronged him were the guys that said he should have been a first round pick in the first place. Everybody that inflated him, put him up on a pedestal, that said he was gonna be a top five pick. They were wrong in the first place. They're the ones that did him wrong, not the 32 NFL teams that decided he wasn't good enough to be a first-round pick.
Speaker 1:And I guess the other 16 picks.
Speaker 2:I haven't picked him yet in the second. His fucking attitude. I can't stand it Again. I'm not going to blame his attitude because I'm like he's been in the spotlight his whole life.
Speaker 2:He deals with the spotlight. I get it, I get. I guess you can't really take him and not take his dad, cause that's it's his father. Like you can't necessarily keep prime out of it forever, but I'm just like they just weren't, they didn't think he was good enough, it is, it's that simple Not to be again. He'll be in a middle of the fat quarterback and that's okay, but it's just taking him in the first round is stupid, like everybody's. Like Kenny Pickett was much worse than him in taking him in the first round. I'm like, yeah, everybody thought that pick was dumb as shit too. Everyone thought that pick was dumb as fuck. I was saying it was dumb and it wouldn't have happened.
Speaker 1:I think the Steelers were under an extreme amount of fucking stress.
Speaker 2:Not to mention the fact that he was a guy coming out of Pittsburgh, so he was stupid then.
Speaker 1:I know, but I think the Steelers Okay, here's the difference. I think the Steelers were geared up, dwayne Haskins was our guy and then a tragedy struck a month before, yeah, and then they were sitting there in the first round like what the fuck are we supposed to do? Their room consisted of Mason Rudolph Mitchell, trubisky and Kenny Pickett, when it was supposed to be Mason Rudolph Mitchell, trubisky and Dwayne Haskins, because Dwayne Haskins had already beat Rudolph for the backup. He was backup all year to Ben. So you know. Sorry, I need to give you guys that credit Because I didn't think about it until a few weeks ago and I was like damn the Steelers, because I truly believe if you had Dwayne Haskins out there it would be a complete different story.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no question. Pick 22,. Omarion Hampton, north Carolina. The running back taken for the Chargers Great pick. It's kind of reductive because they already have Najee Harris, who they took in free agency, but Omarion Hampton will be the home run hitter for them. They probably need another wide receiver, but there really wasn't a guy for them to take at this spot. I think they could have taken Matthew Golden, but he's kind of close to what they already have. I don't know Very good. Let's be honest, they have one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL and they're going to run the football 20 times a game. So I don't know how that's really going to work. But you know they're taking a very good running back. He's going to be very good in the NFL.
Speaker 2:Matthew Golden, texas, was the number 23 pick. The Packers finally broke their curse and took a wide receiver in the first round, and Aaron Rodgers has to be sick about it because he was begging them to take a first round receiver to help him out for years and they wouldn't do it. And now they have their guy in Jordan Love and they decided to help him out. I think Matthew Golden would be a nice guy to take the top off the defense for that team. They already have a lot of wide receivers, though, but none of them kind of. All of them are kind of the same kind of skill set.
Speaker 1:I think Dylan wants a little different to Reed, but I think Reed lacks size Right, I think he's great.
Speaker 2:It's not like Matthew Golden does that. He's 5'10". He's 5'11", 191, but he's a burner.
Speaker 1:And he can run very good routes.
Speaker 2:He's only 5'9". I think probably their best down-the-field wide receiver is the one guy who is.
Speaker 1:Romeo.
Speaker 2:Dobbs, not Dobbs.
Speaker 1:Christian Watkins.
Speaker 2:No, Christian Watson.
Speaker 1:That's close enough.
Speaker 2:He's the guy, but he's always hurt. He is always hurt, always, never healthy.
Speaker 1:I'm talking like this dude's Consistent day to day Injury, like what the fuck are we doing? Every time I remember watching their first playoff game he was hurt and the next playoff game he's playing and I'm like yeah, I'm like yeah, exactly so like Getting out like that. Would Benjamin Morrison cornerback Notre Dame?
Speaker 2:Yes, very good pick. Yes, very good pick for their defense. Why didn't we take a DB? Probably, at the first spot there wasn't one that was really good enough.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but two good ones have been taken after us.
Speaker 2:But two good ones have been taken, since Benjamin Morrison is a very good corner too. He played pretty well for Notre Dame, pick 24. Vikings Donovan Jackson, the Ohio State guard, great pick. He gives you versatility. He can play tackle, which he showed during the playoff run where he flexed out the tackle.
Speaker 1:Played awesome Someone to protect your young quarterback. Protect your young quarterback Someone you can move around the line if he doesn't fit in certain spots.
Speaker 2:Another grown man Does whatever you need him to do. He knows how to play the game very good. He's going to be a hall of fame probably tackle I mean hall of fame guard, and then if you need to play tackle a little bit at times he will go out there and compete and play very well, just like he did in the playoff run. Uh, pick 25. This is where the another set of fireworks really kind of showed up. The new york giants traded back into the first round and let's see here let me get.
Speaker 1:Let me get that pick, let me get a lot of holding let's see like a shit ton of holding all of his picks. Are him holding the fuck out of somebody?
Speaker 2:so the giants traded up with the the Texans at pick 25.
Speaker 1:The second round was going fast as shit.
Speaker 2:It is. They're not taking all 10 minutes like there was no legit.
Speaker 1:We're not even getting off the first dude for the picture, yet it's insane. We're not even cutting commercials. I like it.
Speaker 2:So the Giants traded back into the first round pick 25 with Houston. They ended up giving up their second round pick and then they gave up their third round pick and I also think they gave up something else too 34-99 and a 20-26 third round pick. That's all they gave Houston to try to trade back up. They used those picks to trade back up and get a quarterback. The second quarterback taken off the board, jackson Dart, which was hilarious. The second quarterback taken off the board, jackson Dart, which was hilarious because I was sitting there looking like man. It would be very funny if they took Shador here. But apparently Jackson Dart has more of the physical tools. Everybody was comparing him to a guy like Josh Allen. He's not as big as Josh Allen is, but he does have a bigger arm. He can run a little bit. He kind of just does a little bit of everything, and I think he may not be able to play right away next year, but they do have two quarterbacks that can play and play well for them.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we were.
Speaker 2:He may not be able to play right away, but once he does get it figured out, I do think he'll be a decent quarterback in the NFL. I just think he has more physical tools than Shador really does have, and I just think that it's a it's a good pick yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, um, but yeah good pick.
Speaker 2:It was crazy. They traded back up into the first round to get him but and it was crazy houston traded back. But they took those extra picks and they made some good picks in the second round.
Speaker 1:I think he would have been gone oh yeah, you would have been.
Speaker 2:I think I was more surprised by houston trading out, trading back, but they've used those picks and had some very good picks in the second round yeah, anthony belton dt not ben, not good pick, good pick, um pick 26. This is another trade back in the falcons traded back into this what this trade was crazy. I gotta I to look this up because I had to make sure to get it right.
Speaker 1:Off of the tackle. Okay, Dude the O and the D look the same when it's on such a small screen. He doesn't like the ocean.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:They're giving me a character sheet for him.
Speaker 2:So the Falcons trade back into the first round to pick 26 with? With who'd they trade with? Hold on, let me see, with the rams. So the rams were sitting there. There wasn't anybody they wanted to pick and they managed to get fleece the falcons out of a first round pick for next year for it. So they, the Rams, got the Falcons second round pick and I think they also got a two 42. Man, I hate when some places give the good picks. So the Rams sent the 26th pick and pick 101 to the Falcons in exchange for the 46th pick in the second round and then the pick 242 in the seventh round and then next year's first.
Speaker 2:The fact they gave up next year's first round pick to go back up and get another defensive end was insane. They gave up too much probably. But they went into this draft saying, hey, we're going to get after the passer a lot more in this upcoming season. They're going to. James pierce has looked at as like one, probably one of the best pure pass rushers in this whole draft and he's their second guy that they have taken. So the idea they're going to be, they're going to have so much speed off the edge defensively that they're going to look a lot different going into next year and I think if their offense is going to be a lot better with a brand-new quarterback at the helm, I think they're going to be a better football team.
Speaker 2:Maybe they gave up a little bit too much. I can totally probably say for sure. Why can't I take off my case? It's insane. They probably gave up too much, but I think it's going to be a very good player. They managed to pick up and their defense is going to be a lot better for it. Pick going to be a lot better for it, Pick 27, Malachi Starks.
Speaker 1:the Ravens sit at their spot and they take a very good player.
Speaker 2:Oh, that's a good pick. Good wide receiver, big body too.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:The Ravens do what they always do. They sit and they manage to take a very good player. I think Malachi Starks at Georgia is going to be a good compliment to um. Who's the other? Who's the other state? Why am I forgetting his name? Yeah, Uh. Kyle Hamilton. Kyle Hamilton, the bigger, faster, stronger type of guy. That's kind of all over the field. I think Malachi Starks is more of like the center fielder type of guy who can.
Speaker 1:Podcasting alone must be agony. If you're looking at this, it wasn't that bad.
Speaker 2:It was a few times for sure that definitely happened. But I think it's worse because I have you as a backup.
Speaker 1:I don't know why I have the name, though I don't know why I know who you're talking about.
Speaker 2:I don't know, but no, I just think it's a very good pick. He plays very good football player and he's going to fit in that Ravens defense and that culture Very good and he's, like I said, he's, a very good compliment. So, um, next pick another Buckeye taken the Detroit lions, take Tyleek Williams defense tackle out of Ohio state. Very good pick. They didn't have any type of pass rusher that was going to be on the other side of.
Speaker 1:Hutchinson.
Speaker 2:There wasn't a guy here they really wanted to take. Tyleek Williams is going to be a very good defensive tackle. He can stop the run, get after the passer a little bit. He's not the most effective pass rusher, but he can do it if something's open to him. So very good pick, very good culture builder. I think he's going to fit perfectly in that Lions team. I think he's going to fit perfectly in that Lions team. I think he's going to be awesome and a grown man knows what he's doing. National champion and all that. Pick 29, washington takes Josh Connolly Jr the tackle out of Oregon. Very good player, plays off at the tackle. I think he'll be able to move around very well. He doesn't have a lot of weight.
Speaker 1:He's not very strong, but I do think he'll be able to get out and run, especially with jayden daniels, be able to protect him a little bit definitely a good pick they needed. I think it's, but again, college players tend to wait once they throw the nfl and they'll get.
Speaker 2:They'll get stronger.
Speaker 1:I think a lot yeah, for sure I don't think it's something huge to worry about. Um, in all honesty, I watched the first round and I'm like damn everybody's kind of picking for necessity. Um, I think the only team that really took a luxury pick was the Buccaneers, because they had hey we don't really need anything right now, so we'll take a guy.
Speaker 2:I will say the Eagles probably took a luxury pick.
Speaker 1:Oh, you're the Eagles.
Speaker 2:You're the Super.
Speaker 1:Bowl winner and your team didn't change much. You just lost guys and you already had guys to replace them. So, you know. But again I just I would draft her for necessity. So I was the only thing. Again I'm kind of just. I looked at the Bengals like damn, that dude is a reach. I wanted the guy from Marshall.
Speaker 2:Mike.
Speaker 1:Green, that's who I was.
Speaker 2:He still has been taken right, no. Apparently he has some off the field stuff. That's been a, that's a problem Cool.
Speaker 1:So did Vontaze Perfect. Vontaze Perfect was the first time I picked. By the way, insane it wasn't.
Speaker 2:For how his career played out. I guess you could see on the back end it was insane, but for what he was in college. He was that guy? He could play what he wanted to play, you're not wrong.
Speaker 1:But he woke up.
Speaker 2:Angry Maxwell Harrison, the, the cornerback, was taken out of Kentucky for the Buffalo Bills. Good pick, very good pick. They needed more guys to kind of help stop the pass. He can do everything you want him to do. Very talented. He was the fastest player in the whole draft. Yeah, he was so like he can burn.
Speaker 1:Especially, you're in an AFC division. You're in the AFC where you have a lot of fast receivers.
Speaker 2:And you have to have a guy that can track him down if he ends up breaking into the open field. I think Maxwell Harrison very good guy coming out of Kentucky.
Speaker 1:Very good pick, prepping for players that they're going to have to face. Yeah, I think we play the Bills this year.
Speaker 2:Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:So that guy's going to have to face some burners.
Speaker 2:Yeah, no question.
Speaker 1:I don't know, man. I think it's a good draft. I don't think it's like. This is the flashy pick.
Speaker 2:There's not superstars, but everybody's taking starters, I think.
Speaker 1:Abdul Carter is the superstar. Yeah, I actually think he's the best player in this draft and I think Cam Ward.
Speaker 2:I think that he'see he can be. I don't think his breakaway is B2B, but he'll be a very good player.
Speaker 1:I agree Again. You said superstar, I think it's Abdul-Kart, and then everybody else. Yeah, and then hopefully Travis Hunter can play more than six years.
Speaker 2:You want to play both sides of the ball. You're going to get hit like you play ball.
Speaker 1:The Jags will let him. I guess they will let him. For sure They'll let anybody do anything. Urban Meyer touch women. They don't stop nobody from doing that.
Speaker 2:It was consensual.
Speaker 1:Again, the Jags have been. The decision making of the Jags is starting to make the Browns look smart and it's starting to become crazy.
Speaker 2:Travis is a great player.
Speaker 1:It's just how they're going to manage the both sides. Which which which side of the ball is a great player at? He wasn't the best receiver in this draft.
Speaker 2:People kept comparing him to freaking Just give me what you play for. They were comparing him to Jets sauce gardener no, garrett wilson, garrett wilson. They were comparing him to garrett wilson and I'm like I don't. He's not that at least. Maybe I'm a little too connected to it.
Speaker 1:What did he play to let him get that comparison? That's my other thing is you didn't play fucking nobody he wasn't playing the best guys.
Speaker 2:I want you played. You played big 12 in what hbcu league? Yeah, there's nobody that was near the athlete. He was, and then you come to the Big 12?. Where they don't necessarily Do you know? Of the 32 picks in the first round, 26 of them were from the Big 10 in the SEC.
Speaker 1:Yeah, no, fuck it did. No one else exists. The only one I know that isn't from one of those is McMillan. He's the only one that isn't from one of those. Gentee, he's the only one that isn't one from one of those. Gentee. Oh yeah, he went to Boise. Yeah, but again McMillan's the one that's in my brain because he went to Arizona.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Pick 31. The Eagles traded up with Kansas City to trade up one spot for a fifth-round pick, which is crazy. Why they traded up? Because I'm like there's no way Kansas City was going to take him, which is because they don't really need linebacker help. But Eagles trade up. They take Jahad Campbell, the linebacker out of Alabama. He may not be able to play to start the season next year because apparently some injury issues is a problem, which is why he dropped.
Speaker 1:But like when he's able to play.
Speaker 2:He can get the sideline to sideline.
Speaker 1:When you're the Eagles, you don't really need him to play right now. We have a guy.
Speaker 2:They don't have a lot of crazy needs, which, again, which is why, like this dude, once he's able to become healthy, he will be a monster Again.
Speaker 1:I'm not going to cap you. That's a luxury pick.
Speaker 2:They don't really need the linebacker help right now.
Speaker 1:Bet you drafted at least he's not from georgia, I I remember they last year they drafted a dude who went to syracuse yeah I was thinking, I was like didn't he transfer from georgia?
Speaker 2:they had to think heck, they kept taking georgia players. Man, he did way.
Speaker 1:Fun fact, he did transfer from Georgia, so I think it counts, but I don't know.
Speaker 2:I think it was a good pick, great pick. He'll become a very good player for them, I have no doubt, especially on the defensive side. And then pick 32,.
Speaker 1:last but not least, the Chiefs managed to take Josh Simmons out of Ohio State. Ozzie Trapolo offense tackle.
Speaker 2:For who?
Speaker 1:Boston College to the Bears.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:First team all ACC.
Speaker 2:They need an offense tackle.
Speaker 1:help for sure, he played every spot in the line except center for multiple games.
Speaker 2:So he'll be a guy that you can kind of plug in whenever somebody gets hurt. No, it's very good.
Speaker 1:His father was a second-round pick as well.
Speaker 2:Played for the Saints for 13 years Football family, football family Okay.
Speaker 1:The only thing that he had one negative he's only 6'3".
Speaker 2:He's a little short, okay, not really a great tackle body, but guard for sure would be able to do good things he could play everywhere.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so he has the skill and footwork to play everywhere.
Speaker 2:So I Denver traded their pick to Detroit, oh fun.
Speaker 1:Detroit's now in the clock.
Speaker 2:Getting back to Josh Simmons, kansas City takes him. They needed a guy to play tackle for them. He may not be ready to start the season. We're not sure of him coming off the injury playing at Ohio State last year. If he was healthy he'd be a top 10 pick because he was probably the most talented tackle in the whole draft. But the injury issues apparently he's a little bit of a knucklehead when it comes to listening and doing what he has to do. But if they can get that all figured out which I have no doubt, kansas city will be able to figure it out with him this guy, he will be a he'll be a monster.
Speaker 2:Tackle this guy's dad died when he was young.
Speaker 1:This dude's about to be a fucking monster, oh boy but I think he'll be a monster.
Speaker 2:He'll be able to protect Patrick Mahomes for years to come. And again, like I said, he's the most talented tackle in the whole draft.
Speaker 1:And he dropped it. I truly believe there wasn't a first-round pick that was like awful, except the Bengals. I think they're the one team I'm like that was a fucking reach the.
Speaker 2:Cowboys they overdrafted. Like Tyler Berkish had not been, he's going to fit a need for them, regardless, yeah.
Speaker 1:But again I look at the Bengals like that is the biggest reach ever. He is not a first round pick.
Speaker 2:Yeah Well, you say that A lot of people believe otherwise. But you know I'm not going to say you're trying to convince you of anything.
Speaker 1:Let them pick him. Prove me wrong somewhere else Prove me wrong somewhere else?
Speaker 2:What?
Speaker 1:if they take Mike Green, who?
Speaker 2:The Lions.
Speaker 1:I'd probably cry Because that dude's fucking a monster.
Speaker 2:Put him on the other side of Hutchinson Awesome. And then you have the DT. They just drafted Ty Leak. They just reshaped their defensive line.
Speaker 1:Easily Fix it. We'll fix it. We had a problem. We're going to fix it Holy F, That'd be crazy. And then the rest of the draft just take DB, DB, DB, DB, DB, DB.
Speaker 2:One. You have to be good, that's man. So man, this draft is going to have so many starters, it's insane. Second round we'll just kind of give a quick thing. The nice picks that I saw Houston taking Jaden Higgins awesome. Be a great big body, wide receiver to give to CJ Stroud very good pick. Seahawks Nick Emanwuri they managed to trade up from their spot in the second round to get take him. He fits their system a very good. Everybody compared Emanwuri to Cam Chancellor, so the idea they get another guy like that to be on their defense is awesome. Browns to Quinshaw Judkins good pick. It sucks that I had to see him go to the browns but he'll be a very good like bell cow back for the cleveland browns in the in the nfl what I love nfl fans.
Speaker 1:They all hate each other. They boo each other. The only time they didn't boo each other last night is when they were talking about the flag and suddenly it was USA.
Speaker 2:Or when they were booing the commissioner.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and then the dude was talking and he was part of the armed forces. Yeah, usa, my nigga, you must know the future.
Speaker 2:What you must know, the future. What'd I do?
Speaker 1:The Lions just drafted. Yeah, it makes you sweat. What you must know the future.
Speaker 2:What'd I do? The Lions just drafted. Yeah, it makes you sweat.
Speaker 1:Aw, they drafted a guard.
Speaker 2:Why'd you have to get me excited?
Speaker 1:Tate Rattle.
Speaker 2:Why'd you have to get?
Speaker 1:me. I'm Georgia, I have it right here.
Speaker 2:Why did?
Speaker 1:I believe you.
Speaker 2:Oh my God, I got excited that sucks, Dude.
Speaker 1:is he still there in the third round, Bengals please.
Speaker 2:Please. I got excited for nothing. That sucks.
Speaker 1:I don't know if he's still there in the third round, y'all need DBO, but oh, quinchon taken for the Browns Good pick.
Speaker 2:Sucks that he's going there, but he'll be good for the Browns. Travion got picked by the Patriots Very good pick. He'll be a freaking superstar for them, making big plays all over the field. One question why did the Bears take Luther Burden, another wide receiver?
Speaker 1:They don't need him, your wide receiver room is kind of already stacked.
Speaker 2:It's just another luxury pick. You just took a tight end. You took Colson Loveland, so you have another pass-catching tight end. So I'm like the fact they took him isn't like kind of weird. But again they have an offensive coach. They're trying to help Caleb Williams, make sure he fits and I'm like go ahead and get him as many weapons as possible, I guess. But they could have gone running back and gotten another guy. But I'm just like there's so many good running backs could have taken, but I don't know. Very weird, tyler Shutt got taken out of Louisville for the Saints. Like I said, there's been three quarterbacks taken now and old boy Sanders has not been taken.
Speaker 1:The Raiders are picking again.
Speaker 2:Are they really? This could be the spot. Once it happens, let me know. Good pick, he's older, that's probably his issue. He's coming off a few knee injuries, but if he works out in the nfl he has a very good arm. He can run. He's actually pretty quick as well, I think. And I think the saints need a if. Uh, why, why? Why this is a bad time to forget the quarterback's name for them derrick derrick car. If Derek Carr's shoulder is really that bad, they can bring in a guy that's played a lot of football in college. He's played a lot of football Again. He was the backup to Jay Herbo out of.
Speaker 2:Oregon. What did Jake say?
Speaker 1:He's on the Baltimore pick. Dude, he's a whole pick ahead. I don't know. He said Baltimore ends up with a steal of the draft. Oh no, who did they take? Someone great, apparently. Oh no, this sucks.
Speaker 2:Oh, not Baltimore getting another great player Gross. They just know how to draft man Jake.
Speaker 1:Beach Wide receiver TCU to the Raiders.
Speaker 2:They need wide receiver.
Speaker 1:I don't know who the fuck that is this dude's wide 6'1", 214.
Speaker 2:Okay, there's other good guys on the board they could have taken this is a reach. That's weird. I don't know who this is. There's other wide receivers to take, but okay, tyler Shuck, he should be a good player as long as they kind of give him his chance. But he has all the talent to be able to go out there and play very good. But he's older, he's 25, 26 years old.
Speaker 2:Mason Taylor oh, the Jets got him. I didn't even see that. Very good pick, very good tight end. His dad obviously. Jason Taylor, probably one of the best defensive ends of all time. Very good player, knows what he's very well at LSU. He's probably underutilized. So I think the Jets will definitely be.
Speaker 2:I think Justin Fields has another very good tight end to throw the ball to Donovan Azaraku the edge out of Boston College. The Cowboys took him. I think he'll be a great compliment to Micah Parsons on the other side. He has a bigger body that'll be able to maybe stop the run. Funny how that works. Very good pick for them. Jt Tuamalau for Ohio State, taken for the Colts. Very good player, can stop the run. May not ever be a multiple-year double-digit sack guy, but he will be a very good pro for years to come in the NFL. Very good player. Terrence Ferguson for the Rams, very good pick, tight end. Help out that offense. Will Johnson Jace mentioned him earlier. He's a good pick for the Cardinals. We talked already. Nick Scorton Oladejo oh Oladejo, the edge out of UCLA. Another good edge guy that could have been taken. Good player Morrison Trey Harris for the Chargers Very good big body, wide receiver to take. He's actually pretty fast too. Ozzy Trapilo Jackbitch Does it say who the Ravens picked? Yet? How is Jake that much?
Speaker 1:Dude, he's a pick and a half ahead.
Speaker 2:Maybe he's getting all of his updates on Twitter, because that's been happening, dude I don't know, but he's this.
Speaker 1:Nigga knows the future. He texted they're still on the Raiders pick.
Speaker 2:And he's already told. Is there a button that says Is it live on there?
Speaker 1:I am live. And he told me the Ravens have to steal the draft. What do you mean?
Speaker 2:I'm still watching the Raiders dude. How is he that far ahead? I don't understand.
Speaker 1:Joe, I told you earlier he's like four to five minutes ahead of us. I am still looking at the Raiders dude.
Speaker 2:Oh, that's so gross, that's so gross.
Speaker 1:This dude apparently was a senior bowl standout though.
Speaker 2:Yeah, but he's small. I can see him on the screen right now. He's small, oh he's small.
Speaker 1:I can see him on the screen right now. He's small, oh, he's. Me and him are the same height. I'm probably a little taller than he is actually 6'1" 214. So I'm taller than him. Yeah, oh, he ain't fat. Ah, gross, I don't know.
Speaker 2:It's a reach they probably shouldn't have taken him.
Speaker 1:There's other guys. He can run around really well Okay.
Speaker 2:Can I see the Ravens pick? Jake got our hopes up. Now we got to see.
Speaker 1:I'm still on the dude, I am still on the T's. You got. He told me this before the Ravens had he, before, before the Raiders had even picked he had told me the Ravens got the Steelwood Rats. What do you mean?
Speaker 2:Is it Mike Green?
Speaker 1:I don't know. I'm on the Home Depot commercial Dude. He's currently watching fucking Chicago's pick dude. He's on pick 32. He's on pick 62 right now. There's no way he's not.
Speaker 2:Let me see, let me see here Malachi Starks, humphrey Wiggins I'm not seeing anything on Twitter about them picking anybody.
Speaker 1:Dude, he is so far. He's there. He has to be there.
Speaker 2:I don't know man. This is interesting to me. I'm still on the Home Depot's commercial bro. It says heck, even online. It says heck even online. It says the pick is in but like it's not saying who they picked yet for me online oh wait, this is something else.
Speaker 1:This is a Madden commercial. Oh god, oh, you go from high school to college, to NFL how oh is that for college football?
Speaker 2:25? If you prove it, no, it's for both oh because you know they said it for um, for road to glory, for college football this year. High school now you start in high school.
Speaker 1:Let's fucking go. That's what I was.
Speaker 2:I've been so excited for um they announced that game's gonna come out on july 7th, for, if you, pre-order dude, I'll pre-order. It'll be on the 10th if you don't pre-order. So very good, I'm I'm happy to play that I'm like away three days I play.
Speaker 1:I play so much of that game. Dude, it's fire.
Speaker 2:Uh, it's just it's so fun, I know but after a while I'm like I've rebuilt.
Speaker 1:Fuck. I rebuilt what was school ulm ulo monroe. I've rebuilt San Jose. I was rebuilding Michigan State and I won a natty my first year and I was like damn, y'all niggas are ass. That was the conclusion I came to, does it?
Speaker 2:say who the pick is, yet no.
Speaker 1:I'm watching Genesis Corso.
Speaker 2:This is awful. This is awful. How is he so far ahead? I don't understand.
Speaker 1:This nigga's cheating.
Speaker 2:Maybe he's on actual cable. Maybe that's the difference.
Speaker 1:Did this lag for you yesterday.
Speaker 2:Yeah, oh, I didn't have that 10 minutes it was doing it. I don't know. It sucks. Okay, I was still waiting for that pick. What are we doing? We're still waiting on the pick. So my question to you is, as the draft is still going right now, I think they're doing another round tonight, so you're getting third round picks as well. Do you have a steal? The draft so far?
Speaker 1:I'm no, it hopefully.
Speaker 2:Jake said, it doesn't necessarily make it true, dude, I don't know what the fuck that Dude?
Speaker 1:I'm starting to get angry. The pick has been in for 10 minutes and he saw it 30 minutes ago.
Speaker 2:I think, for me, I think, the steal of the draft so far was, let me see here I think, the fact that the Kansas City Chiefs got Josh Simmons at the number pick, 32 overall, huge steal.
Speaker 1:Oh, steal, I don't know. I feel like the Eagles.
Speaker 2:John Campbell yeah.
Speaker 1:I think they also got a really good steal, especially for how good they are On defense and have a guy like that who is a Monster. I think that was a good pick as well, and I think it was a steal so far into the second round, emeka Ibuka.
Speaker 2:Very good pick. Wherever he went, he was going to work.
Speaker 1:I know, but there were so many teams behind them that needed a wide receiver that was probably the next guy up, so that was a good steal by the Buccaneers. Now, if he had fallen to like mid-20s it would probably be him, but since he was taken earlier than I, thought that was a good one. Quenchon Jenkins.
Speaker 2:Very good pick the fact that the Cardinals got Will Johnson where they did in the second round. I think he's a first-round talent but with the injuries that he has, the fact that he's not very fast Apparently they said he runs like a 4-5, closer to a 4-5, which isn't really fast.
Speaker 1:This nigga is texting me about the fucking. I hate him. I need you to. I'm going to explain you how far ahead he is right now. Um, because I am tweaking, he is. He just talked to me. I'm currently going to watch the ravens. He just told me who. He's told you just said, candice, that he just had one of the best picks of the draft Dude, that is. The Broncos still have to pick for us. The Commanders still have to pick, the Bears still have to pick.
Speaker 2:There's no way he's. I think he's screwing with us at this point there's, I don't know I think he's screwing with us.
Speaker 1:Okay, then what?
Speaker 2:Then he's just, he has like a crystal ball.
Speaker 1:Because ESPN don't have it up there neither.
Speaker 2:So this motherfucker can see them. They run the whole draft. So, like, like, how dude I'm still. I'm refreshing, I'm refreshing the online site over and, over and over again.
Speaker 1:I don't know if it was preemptive, but I'm still on the Raiders pick. I don't know, we do it. I'm starting to think the Ravens aren't actually picking, because their pick has been in for 10 plus minutes it hasn't happened yet because of a bunch of commercials.
Speaker 2:I'm still watching the Raiders dude oh, here we go, here we go, it's saying it. Oh no, mike Green. Okay, I called it okay okay, I called it Mike Green, so he was right, it is a steal.
Speaker 1:So he's that far ahead. Okay, that might be the steal of the drafts, if I'm being honest.
Speaker 2:That might be Again the off the field thing, but again, if Baltimore is taking him, Baltimore can fix it. They can fix it.
Speaker 1:At pick 59. That's a Dude.
Speaker 2:Holy shit that's a big 27 in the second round. Very good pick.
Speaker 1:No, I'm not gonna lie that dude was a first, first round talent yeah um, it was the off the field issues. I think it's hurting him right now that ain't put a marshall sunbelt.
Speaker 2:So you know, yeah, um, but okay, so you got, so steal the draft. Do you have the perfect fit? Like the one guy that got drafted to the spot where it's perfect, it almost feels like fate, I think. For me, the guy, I would say the fact that Let me see here.
Speaker 1:Perfect fit. Is it weird that I want to say the certain alignment? I'm like, yeah, it makes total sense, you fit perfectly there. But it's like if you're an O-lineman being drafted by a team, yeah, you fit perfect.
Speaker 2:I think Bull Campbell, even though he's probably overdrafted, probably doesn't have the physical talent. I think he's just a perfect fit for a Mike Vrabel-led team. Everybody talks about how he's a culture guy. I think he's a very, very perfect fit. I think as much as I don't like Tet.
Speaker 1:I think he'll play very good. Oh, donald Jackson's awesome. Yes, I think he was a perfect fit. Oh, malachi Starks Go under the Ravens dude.
Speaker 2:The fact that they just sat where they wanted to and they got a safety that will play very well at that spot. He will be a Raven.
Speaker 1:It's a perfect fit too, james Pierce Jr. The Falcons traded up they traded up.
Speaker 2:That first round pick they gave up was way too much.
Speaker 1:I agree, but I also think, but he makes them very lethal. Lethal, he makes them scary, because their secondary has always been pretty good and adding him, I think he was a great pick too. Malachi Starks that's a good one.
Speaker 2:Derek Harmon, the fact that he will be an obvious guy to pass the torch off to from Cam Hayward to him. Cam Hayward's going into year 15. So the idea that you have that guy that's going into the later stages of career and you've got a guy like Derek Harmon that can learn from him and then be ready to go, I think it's a very good pick. I think they're going to want to stop the run. Heck, they couldn't stop the run last year. I think it's a very, very good pick.
Speaker 1:McMillan. I think the Panthers have actually picked very well the last couple.
Speaker 2:If they really believe in Bryce Young which I believe they do, taking him it's a very good pick.
Speaker 1:I just don't think McMillan was that good. I don't think so either Personally for eight. I think Emeka Abuka is way better.
Speaker 2:But that's just me. I think it's more about the body type that he is. I agree he's a jump ball master. Jump ball master can get to those 50-50 balls.
Speaker 1:He's faster for his size. He's not a burner, but he's quick. His routes is where he needs to develop. But now I happen to do Adam Dillon, who's just like hey, I run good routes.
Speaker 2:And he's still playing, good enough to be on the other side and him not have to be the number one guy.
Speaker 1:I think it's a very good one or two guy because Xavier Leguette who I'm not going to lie to you got better as the year went on. Yeah, he looks like he could be something. He looks more of a physical receiver and a downfield threat because he can get up there in speed.
Speaker 2:So you know, RJ Harvey running back UCF to the…. For the Broncos, broncos Very good pick.
Speaker 1:He's like one of the fastest running backs.
Speaker 2:One of the fastest running backs in this whole draft. Very good, he's 5'8" though he's very short.
Speaker 1:I feel like a lot of running backs in this class are short 5'8" wild, I know, but I feel like the only ones that weren't that short were Quintel and Jenkins.
Speaker 2:Oh, they got Trey Amos.
Speaker 1:Who.
Speaker 2:Washington.
Speaker 1:Oh, you're ahead of me 6'1" 195 for Ole Miss.
Speaker 2:No, he's a corner. Sorry, not wide receiver, I got to mix up Corner. Very good corner. They need corner help. Very good player, instinctive, can play the ball one-on-one type of guy Definitely a huge help. They definitely need that. We can play the ball one-on-one type of guy Definitely a huge help. They definitely need that.
Speaker 1:We're just going to pause at the end of the first round.
Speaker 2:Yeah, end of the second round, and then we'll end this podcast here. But yeah, I think heck, I think the.
Speaker 1:What do you think the Bears take? They go defense.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they put so much into their defense they probably need another defensive. Sorry they put so much into their offense. They could use some defensive help for sure.
Speaker 1:I'm in Chiefs-Eagles.
Speaker 2:I think Jaden Higgins from Iowa State going to Houston. It's an insanely good pick. I think they need a lot of wide receiver help. Stephon Diggs is gone.
Speaker 1:What's funny is pro comp is Nico Collins yeah.
Speaker 2:Him be able to give CJ Stroud another wide receiver he can rely on A little bit healthier, because they're not going to have Tank Dell For at least another.
Speaker 1:This whole year. He's not going to have him this whole season. Another year or two man.
Speaker 2:So the fact they can add another wide receiver to kind of help that out was definitely a huge deal. And then they did also get off the lineman later on. So get off the lineman later on. A tackle, the Ursary from Minnesota. Very good pick. I think Houston's having a very good draft. I'm not going to lie to you. Okay, and here so far I think— you know who's not.
Speaker 1:Dude. That's why Joe Burrow didn't really care about meeting him. He was like I don't give a fuck who you are.
Speaker 2:I don't care about the defense, as long as I get my offense right, I'll try to do what I can do?
Speaker 1:I'm going to make it 10-6 anyway. I'm going to go out there and sling the football. What do?
Speaker 2:you mean All right, so best draft, worst draft. As we're going through the end of the second round draft, when are we? Second round, the Bengals Worst, okay.
Speaker 1:Honestly, it's the Bengals. All their guys they've picked so far are boom or bust. They're physical freaks and on defense that's not what you needed. You needed an impact player. Yeah, somebody's going to go out there start, and that's not what they're doing. So it's the Bengals right now the best draft so far. Everybody else.
Speaker 2:I think the Seahawks are having a very good draft Dude everyone is having a good draft yeah. It's just the Bengals.
Speaker 1:I don't understand. This draft is deep in every position.
Speaker 2:Yeah, there's plenty of starters everywhere. Dude, this draft is deep in every position but quarterback.
Speaker 1:Well, quarterbacks, they're all boomer bust Right.
Speaker 2:They have their minutes, but there's a multitude of them A lot of them are middle-of-the-road guys.
Speaker 1:Will Howard, I think, in the NFL can be a middle-of-the-pack quarterback.
Speaker 2:He'll be a third-round pick and I hope the Steelers do it. I really do.
Speaker 1:He'll be a middle-of-the-pack quarterback, and I think he'll be a good quarterback in the NFL because he makes the right decisions, and that's what makes you a good quarterback.
Speaker 2:Yeah, defense wins, yeah they showed it more than anybody. Have a great defensive line Fucking Axe. Be able to stop Like.
Speaker 1:Axe the last couple Super Bowl champions. Axe the fucking Rams. They beat the shit. That's all they had to do. Their defense showed up and showed out in the last quarter, that's what that's so. It's just.
Speaker 2:The Ravens having a very good draft man, mike Green. They got him where they did.
Speaker 1:I wanted Mike Green. I can't do this. The Bears only have four more picks. Four more picks. They have four more picks.
Speaker 2:Dang.
Speaker 1:Their next pick's in the fifth round. Is it really? I think this is it for them. Unless I was looking at it wrong, let me double check.
Speaker 2:I'm checking the third round now. I don't see it. I don't see the Bears have a pick. I think it was the fourth or fifth round.
Speaker 1:Fourth round I don't see the Bears have a pick. I think it was the fourth or fifth round. Fourth round the next pick's the fourth round.
Speaker 2:Dang Insane.
Speaker 1:So it was a one-off. And then the fifth round.
Speaker 2:There's only been one team that has not only picked once in this draft. It's the Steelers. Obviously, we used that second-round pick on DK Metcalf, which technically isn't a great pick for a second-round pick. He's already an established guy. We don't like it. Looks like it's going to be Aaron Rodgers as the quarterback, because if we haven't taken a quarterback yet, I just feel like they have some type of. No, no, no, no, no, Please, please, please. That is one thing. I'm hoping that does not happen.
Speaker 1:I really I really hope. If he comes up in the third round and y'all still take Will Howard, I'm going to sit here fucking baffled.
Speaker 2:Ishador ends Okay. But here's the thing. Right, if Ishador makes it all the way back to the Steelers in the third round, I will be disappointed, but I can't be mad. Even I didn't think the guy was a third-round pick. I really didn't. I thought he was going to be a second-round pick. I really did.
Speaker 2:I won't be happy because I really don't think he's going to be like he really fixes our problems long-term, like really get us back to a Superbowl. But like if he gets back around to the Steelers in the third round where the Steelers pick in the 19th pick, pick 83 overall, if that happens, then I can't. I can be disappointed, but I can't be upset, you know, and that's kind of where I have to be. I think I have to be able to be like accepting of that, especially when they won't necessarily need him to start right away. If they're, if aaron rod is really going to be the answer for them. But I prefer other quarterbacks in the draft. I really do, but it's just if, if he makes all the way back to us in the third round, I'm like I have to be like it's a good, it's a a good bang for your buck pick it is.
Speaker 2:It is Not to mention you won't have to pay him that much. You won't even get paid like a first-round pick. He'll be getting paid a lot less and I don't know, I don't know. I'm nervous about it, but at the same time, the fact that we made one pick so far, and it's a good pick, but it's just. I would have hoped to see a little bit more firework from the Steelers so far in the draft. I'm still hoping they trade. I really want them to trade.
Speaker 1:Pickens. I would like Darius Alexander, the DT from Toledo.
Speaker 2:The fact he's got picked is kind of crazy.
Speaker 1:He'd be pretty cool to have in the third round If the Bears don't pick him right now. Just saying Turner. They picked Turner, another good defensive lineman from texan m. That's a good one. Uh, I'm really tired of all these texan defensive line players being picked, and it's not the one we have. Can we return? Um? I would like darius alexander.
Speaker 2:I would greatly appreciate him um espn has him as the best player left yeah, um I wouldn't doubt kansas city takes him. I would either I would like a zero.
Speaker 1:A thomas, the db from florida state I don't know if that's how you say his name- azari, azaria, thomas, yeah, something like that um, he's a high ceiling, I think he's. I think he's a large frame and my only thing is that it makes me fear that he's more like Cam Taylor-Britt than I would like. I would like more of a coverage guy, cam Taylor-Britt's, more of a physical guy. He's the one you put on the DK Metcalfs Apparently this guy, siobhan Revel Jr from East Carolina.
Speaker 2:A lot of people like him draft-wise. The fact that he's getting potentially a third-round pick is kind of crazy, but he's 6'2", 194. Who, siobhan Revel Jr? From East Carolina? But he's long, he's pretty quick, everything. He can be a pretty good cornerback in the NFL. He's like Cleveland Kind of does Jalen Knoll, the wide receiver. He's small. He Kind of does Jalen Knoll, the wide receiver. He's small, he's 5'10", 194, but he's very quick.
Speaker 1:He's from Florida.
Speaker 2:Take the top off of defense.
Speaker 1:North Carolina.
Speaker 2:The idea that the running backs that are still left in this draft so far positions you still have. Let's see your best available running backs. There we go. Caleb Johnson from Iowa is still available. Cam Scadaboo is still available to be taken. He'll be a third-round pick. Dylan Sampson he was the best running back in the S Third-round pick. He will be. At least he's not taking the second.
Speaker 1:I think he's a fourth-round pick. Omar Norman-Lott.
Speaker 2:Yes, what division does he play?
Speaker 1:DT, ot DT.
Speaker 2:DT Good player. I've heard a lot of good things about him when I've listened to draft stuff.
Speaker 1:Model his game after all pro DTs aired, not on Gina Atkins.
Speaker 2:There we go.
Speaker 1:Man the name Gina Atkins. I've not heard that one in a while.
Speaker 2:Dylan Sampson. The Tennessee running back the best running back in the SEC last year, is still available.
Speaker 1:I'm not going to cap with you. I think Caleb Johnson and Dylan Sampson go before Scadaboo.
Speaker 2:Probably, I wouldn't doubt it.
Speaker 1:Wide receivers. Not much to be honest.
Speaker 2:Jalen Knoll he's a small but explosive type of guy. Kyle Williams some people liked him because he's another explosive guy, but he's a little bit smaller. He's 5'11". There's not a lot of big wide receiver names. This wide receiver draft really is not great.
Speaker 1:Nick Nash, the triple crown winner from last year. If you guys are looking for somebody to fit in your slot, he's that guy 16 touchdowns, 104 receptions, 1300 yards. He is very good at what he does. Him and Emeko Buka are very similar, it's just Nick Nash has a bigger frame and he's much fucking faster. That's someone I'd take a look out for.
Speaker 2:Harold Fannin, the triple crown winner for the Titans Bowling green Titan. He's still available.
Speaker 1:I was just getting him. Harold Fannin. I'm kind of hoping the Bengals are sitting there like fuck it, let's take another offensive player Because he is special. No one would talk about it. He is truly fucking special. There's no fullbacks available, so you know, can't take one of those, that is like a big running back now.
Speaker 1:Just convert it if they need it for back in the nfl now dude, I'm not gonna lie to you, if I was playing madden right now, I would take a fullbacks, because you know how like they're still really good, but they're a fullback. So the game's like well, they're not getting drafted. So the game's like well, they're not getting drafted. If you draft them in the sixth round, they're always gems guaranteed.
Speaker 2:Just a little snippet for everybody I know centers aren't usually taken all that high in the draft for many reasons, but Seth McLaughlin, the center from Ohio State, obviously he played great for them last year. He was named the best center in college football last year. Very good player. Whoever drafts him is going to get an absolute monster of a player and he will be a leader for years to come for whatever NFL team he goes to, and he'll be the head of the offensive line. That's going to be very good. I think he played very good for Ohio State last year until he got hurt.
Speaker 2:Defensive tackle-wise, darius Alexander, like you mentioned, tyle Hamilton, the other defense tackle from Ohio State, is still available. He's like, maybe not as explosive, but he's just throw him in there. He can stop the run. He is very consistent. I feel it, guy. Again in this draft overall like you said this already is that there are a bunch of guys that are starters. Like, if you want good players in this draft, they're everywhere. You just have to find them and find the right fit for them. There's not a bunch of superstars, but again, you don't necessarily need that. Not everybody gets to get paid superstar money, but there are plenty of players in this draft that are going to be good players for years to come for these teams and I think that if you're just finding good fits and good to go, I think you're going to find some good stuff. I think cornerback is a very deep position when there's other guys Siobhan Revel, azaria Thomas we talked about. Darian Porter the other guy from Iowa State is pretty good.
Speaker 1:Not already. There's a lot of good edge rushers in this.
Speaker 2:Lathan Ranson, the state from Ohio State. He is a banger and I think he'll get picked by somebody late and I think he will be making a team a very good play like give you a very good safety for a team. He knows what he's doing. He's playing a lot of football like there are just a lot of Xavier Watts the safety he was a very good safety for Notre Dame hasn't been touched by anybody yet, which I don't know why I said it that way but has not even looked at when it comes to getting drafted. He's a very good player. There's a lot of players all over the board that that teams can take.
Speaker 1:Why is the Alabama punter James Burnett 6'6"?
Speaker 2:Huge, that's crazy. 235? Big boy, that's a big boy.
Speaker 1:He's Australian.
Speaker 2:Oh, makes sense. Everybody gets their punters from Australia nowadays, I guess.
Speaker 1:The Aussies. The average punt return for his punts was one yard Dang.
Speaker 2:Darius With an average punt of 55 yards.
Speaker 1:He can boom that ball. I'd draft him right now. What the fuck? I'm sorry. Sorry, I know it's a punter, but, dude, that's a boom.
Speaker 2:And the Eagles are pick 32 in the second round. Take another great player, probably defensive line or offensive line, right here once we get this pick one. The podcast here. I think we've talked a lot of stuff about the draft. We've had a lot of good talk. Jace was there nodding for a little bit, but he's finishing it off strong for sure. Yeah, definitely a big help. I don't know, this draft is not. I think there's a lot more going on, but it's just a lot of good player, andrew Matabuka, safety.
Speaker 2:Okay, mukuba from Texas. Oh, he was a good player. I think he was one of the leaders on that defense last year.
Speaker 1:I said like Matabuka didn't a good player. I think he was one of the leaders on that defense last year. I said it like Metabouquet didn't?
Speaker 2:I? Yeah, andrew Makuba. He was a very good player for Texas last year. Watching him in that playoff game he was one of the reasons why Ohio State as explosive as they were against everybody else in the playoff. He was a part of the defense that really made Ohio State have to work for it.
Speaker 1:Other than the one play that they got from Justin McCollum's world playoffs. He had three interceptions.
Speaker 2:Like just the one big play that we got from Travion Henderson. No, he's a very good player and again, the Eagles just know how to take very good players in the draft, them and the Ravens. Man, they just know what they're doing at all times. Man, it's a credit to them. I wish I wish the Steelers just had like as consistent of just getting studs, like, again, we take good players, but it's just the fact that the Eagles and the Ravens just take consistent studs, or is this the third round? Really.
Speaker 1:I think we're in the third round.
Speaker 2:Yeah, they're going to start that soon. So Really, I think we're in the third round. Yeah, they're going to start that soon, so they're going to be going to the third round. We're not going to sit here and do the podcast through the third round, but, yeah, we've been sitting here doing it Is 65, the last pick of the first round.
Speaker 1:No it's 64.
Speaker 2:It'd be 64.
Speaker 1:So they're starting the third round right now.
Speaker 2:Yeah. So we have a whole other third round, but we're not going to stay here and talk about it Will. So, on the next pod, I know Jason's really upset. They didn't get the pod last time when I did it, when I did like the take steps forward, take steps back. We're going to do that again after the whole draft so we kind of get a sense of how the whole draft impacted these teams. We'll do that with Jason around I also. We're also going do win totals at some point here in the next few weeks. I think there's a lot of things we're going to be able to do for the draft this up in the next few weeks before the season starts. That'll keep us busy. But yeah, that's pretty much it, man. I think we did. I think this has been a very good pod. I'm glad to have Jace back and he's been playing some good ball and I think that we've been doing some good stuff here. What are we? Jason? I'm freaking out here thinking something's unplugged. That would suck. It looks unplugged.
Speaker 1:That looks unplugged.
Speaker 2:No, it's all good. I'm watching it go, so I I know If it stopped I would have been like had a freak out moment. That looks unplugged. It does, it does.
Speaker 1:I've tried to push it in more any farther, it just it freaked me out for a second. I was like damn, we did all this work and it's gone.
Speaker 2:We sat here and legit reacted the whole second round like come on but yeah, we had a very good pod. May not be the most exciting for anybody that has to listen, but again, this is what we do. Um, we've made it as great as we can and I think we had a good time.
Speaker 1:I will be more consistent. I'll be here more. I not as busy as busy in life right now.
Speaker 2:So but yeah, we be back. We'll be doing this next week. We'll be talking a lot of stuff, so, if anybody, I guess we'll just hand it over. So let Jace finish this off. Actually, no, no, no, let me do my whole thing. I get you back one time and then I forget how I do this whole thing.
