Game Day Breakdown: College Matchups and NFL Predictions
Ever wish you could just enjoy football without the emotional rollercoaster of watching your team? This week's solo episode dives into that rare luxury as I break down a packed weekend of college and NFL action while my beloved Buckeyes enjoy their bye week.
College football's Week 4 brings several intriguing matchups worth your Saturday viewing hours. Texas Tech travels to Utah for an early kickoff that pits NIL spending against program stability, while Jackson Arnold leads Auburn against his former Oklahoma teammates in a revenge game scenario. Nebraska has a legitimate shot at upsetting Michigan at home, especially with the Wolverines still missing head coach Sherrone Moore to suspension. Miami looks to continue their resurgence against a struggling Florida team that can't seem to find consistency under center.
Thursday night's Bills-Dolphins game showcased Buffalo's resilience and Miami's tendency to crumble when pressure mounts. Josh Allen continues his evolution into a measured game manager who can still deliver explosive plays when needed, while Tua and the Dolphins offense has become frustratingly conservative despite their elite receiving talent.
The NFL weekend features several compelling storylines: Green Bay's surprising dominance heading into Cleveland, Indianapolis building momentum with Daniel Jones, Pittsburgh facing a must-win against New England, and a Monday night showdown between Detroit and Baltimore that could become an instant classic between two offensive powerhouses.
Whether you're tracking playoff positioning, evaluating quarterback performances, or just looking for the best games to watch, this episode provides everything you need to navigate another packed weekend of football. Join me for insights, predictions, and the occasional emotional outburst about the Steelers' defensive woes.
welcome back to jb sports podcast. Date is friday, september 19th, and we're back for another pod. If you've been listening for a while, you know this isn't necessarily the person that usually starts the pod. Usually it's jace. He's not here today. Couldn't make the schedules work, how it all works out.
Speaker 1:Obviously it would be nice if he was here, but I was like trying to give him, because he was working so like the whole day and all that. So I just wanted to give him out, because if he's all coming in, all tired, falling asleep during the pod, which he has done before it's one of those things where I'd rather him be able to come in at his best and be able to do his thing. And so I just told him hey, yeah, you getting out here, let me just go ahead and do this on my own. Hopefully don't go on too long, like I did last pod, where I was like doing it for like over two hours. So hopefully I'll be a lot more pointed and um, point is probably the word I'm looking for there, no reason to try to look for something else. So hopefully I'll be able to keep the time a little better and keep this at around an hour hour and a half to make it a little more palatable, not to mention the fact that we have games on tomorrow. So if I expect anybody to look at this pod, if you've been listening for a while, if you're just not joining on and say, hey, I have games coming on later, or I have either tomorrow or Sunday which I'm gonna be talking about both games coming on on both the college world and the NFL. I don't want to necessarily have it be not as palatable. It's easier earlier on in the week, but like when it's this late, I'm doing it right on Friday night. If I want anybody to listen to it, I gotta make sure it's a little bit more feasible for somebody to actually sit down and listen or even like piece it out, like let's do it in 20 minute increments, something like that, because, again, two and a half hours for a pot is very long. So I'm trying not to go that long today. So, without further ado, let me go ahead and get to the things I wanted to talk about here and let's start with college football games that are going to be going on, going on tomorrow and, as you know, I, if you haven't listened for a while, if you've been on, whatever it is.
Speaker 1:I'm an Ohio State fan. Let's been a high standard for a while, and having a bye week this early on in the season is a little bit weird. I'm not gonna lie to you here week four, bye. We've already played three games and we have the bye this weekend and then we go out to Washington to play next weekend. So definitely a weird one to have a bye so early on in the year. I think we have two byes this year, which is a crazy thing.
Speaker 1:So tomorrow I get to watch games without having any type of idea of how it impacts Ohio State at all, and I just get to kind of, like you know, just enjoy the day without necessarily having any type of nervousness about Ohio State, either playing a team they can lose to and losing, or playing a team they shouldn't lose to and just wondering how bad, how, how good. Ohio State has to look in the wind. You know it's just. When it comes to Ohio State I have a lot more um, emotional attachment to that team. So everything that happens whether good, bad, indifferent, it's a lot more coming from me. So tomorrow I just get to be a college football fan and just kind of have, just take a week off. I'm not going to lie to you Again, it's not like I get away from it totally.
Speaker 1:I still have to watch the Steelers play on Sunday and from what I've seen over the last two weeks, I'm not very excited. So I do get to have my little bit of a disappointment coming on Sunday, but tomorrow I get to have a little bit more of like a carefree Saturday, which is something I haven't had over the last few weeks, ever since, honestly, for a while, because Ohio State's always on my mind. Man, it's one of the few things that not few, but one of the things that gives me pure joy to think about is Ohio State football, and watching those guys play every Saturday is one of the most fun things but also very nerve-wracking. So since I don't have to talk about Ohio State even though I made this last five minutes about Ohio State let's get to the other games. I'm going to kind of do this in chronological order, just based on when they kind of pop up. I'm not going to talk about every game, I'm just going to talk about the games that show that on the surface or because of what's coming into it, to be interesting.
Speaker 1:First game we'll talk about is Texas Tech going to Utah. This is a ranked matchup, texas Tech being at 17, at least in the A people. I don't like the A people, but it is what most people go by. Texas Tech is 17. Utah is at 16. This game is at noon, which, if you know anything about Utah, it's in the Pacific time zone, so that game will actually be happening at 9 am. Sorry, I have to add again Adding on pod for some reason for me is difficult, even though in regular life I'm actually kind of decent at math. At 9 am this game will be happening at Utah time. So this is going to be a very tough game for both of these teams going on. It's going to be very early in the morning. But what do I see coming in this game?
Speaker 1:Texas Tech, coming into the year, was the team that was just throwing a lot of money around when it comes to NIL. They bought most of the squad that came in and played for them, practically other than their quarterback. I think the quarterback's been there for like two or three years now, but other than him they brought in practically everybody else on their roster and they paid to do it and you have a Utah team that had a down year last year but then came because they were working with I forget that quarterback's name, um, that was with utah the last few years. That was in college ball forever, but he kept getting hurt utah qb in, let's just say, 2023, it was Cam Rising. So this last year was the first year that they could not rely on Cam Rising as their quarterback because he was there for a while and then they kind of had a really down year. I think they only had like five or six wins last year. And then, coming into this year, they brought in a new quarterback, devin Dampierre, and they brought in also his offense coordinator, which I'm not I forget where they got them from, but it was his offense coordinator and the quarterback. They brought them in together and coming starting off this year, they're three and now their offense is looking a lot more what is the word I'm looking for? Explosive. They're able to make a lot more plays. Dan Pierre can run, he can throw, he can do everything you wouldn't need him to do and they've been playing some very good football. So, coming into this game, the question is can Texas Tech prove themselves to be a team to be worried about in the Big 12? And then, obviously, if you win the Big 12, you have a chance to get into the playoff. Or is Utah kind of going to plant their flag and say, hey, we're here. We may have had it down here last year, but we're back.
Speaker 1:Utah is universally known over the last five, six, seven years as one of the more consistent teams in all of college football. Their coach has been there forever. Consistent teams in all of college football. Their coach has been there forever. He knows how to coach college football and he's been doing a great job. But that one down year last year just kind of took Utah off everybody's radar. And now it's Utah's turn to try to like hey, we're back and we're playing some good ball and we are somebody to be reckoned with. And not to mention, utah is a very hard team to face when they're in their house and I think with all. Again, the time thing is a little bit weird with them playing all the way at not very early at 9am. But other than that, I really do favor Utah because of how hard it is to play there. Their fan base is rabid. They're there to go and even with a very early start I do think that the coach, with being a veteran coach, will have his team ready to go and I do think with the new offensive coordinator, new quarterback Devin Dampierre, I do think they'll be able to make enough plays in this game to win the game. So I would probably favor Utah on this one. I think Utah is universally favored. They're favored by three, 3.5 points Technically, only a home field advantage practically, because they usually only give you 3 points at home. So they're looking at it as very equal. But I do think Utah at home will be able to get the job done.
Speaker 1:Next game I wanted to talk about was let's see here, auburn at Oklahoma. This game's at 330, so this one is a little bit of a revenge factor coming into this game because of Jackson Arnold. The quarterback. The starting quarterback for Auburn was originally the quarterback at Oklahoma last year and with Oklahoma having all the struggles that they had last year with Jackson Arnold being their starter, they had him starting at the beginning of the year, pulled him and then brought him back after a few games. It was like a whole thing. And then it was pretty much like everybody knew on Oklahoma's campus and their coaching staff and that, like everybody that was in the know knew that they just kind of like they were blaming Jackson Arnold for all of their offensive issues when, if you really took a look at what was happening last year, oklahoma had lost all five of their starters of starting wire like five, their top fives no, sorry, not top five. They were missing five wide receivers due to injury last year. Their offensive line was not good. Their defense was probably the best part of their team, but even that was inconsistent at best and they kind of blamed it all on Jackson Arnold, even though their offensive coordinator was bad last year and they ended up firing him in the middle of the year, and so Jackson really did take all of the brunt of the blame of how bad the offense was last year.
Speaker 1:So now, with him leaving Oklahoma, then going in the transfer portal last year I mean before this season ended up at Auburn, and now he's their starting quarterback and he's playing some good ball. I'm not sitting there saying he's destroying, he's tearing things up there, but he's doing what he has to do. He has 500 passing yards on the year, four touchdowns, but he's doing a lot of rushing as well and I think that him coming into this game with Auburn, is going to try to have his best game as he possibly can. But I think the problem is he has talent around him, he has a good running back, he has some very good wide receivers to throw to, but it's still like their offense is not necessarily very explosive. It's really based off the run and I think Jackson Arnold Arnold, even though he has been playing better, it's not like they have an offense that like really relies on him.
Speaker 1:And one of the going things is is that his confidence can really be shattered quickly and they have to do a lot of things to try to keep him, keep his confidence up, which I think I don't necessarily think is a terrible thing. But I also think if you as a team, when you're going into a football game and you're playing an opponent, not everything's going to go your way. So the idea that you can go into a game and a quarterback can be so up and down based on how things are going can be a little bit of an issue. So, not to mention you're playing against an Oklahoma team that has some things going for them this year. Their defense is a lot better coming into this year, even though I think their secondary isn't necessarily as good, but their front seven is absolute monsters. They'll get after you. They're going to make it very hard for Jackson Arnold to feel comfortable in the pocket. And also, on top of that, their offense has gotten a lot better coming into this year as well.
Speaker 1:And they are another team that has brought in a brand new quarterback and a brand new offense coordinator from the same place. John Mateer is the quarterback that they brought in in the transfer portal, coming from where was he at before Bio? Where was he at? He was at Washington State before they brought him and they also brought his office coordinator over to come to be the office coordinator for Oklahoma. So that was another one of those. Let's just bring the quarterback and his office coordinator to kind of lessen the amount of learning curve that they're coming in with the quarterback Because of that Oklahoma obviously having a defensive coach in Brent Venables he just kind of wants to worry about because he calls the defense, so he wants to be able to worry about the defense and kind of let the offense be that side of the ball.
Speaker 1:And because he brought in a quarterback that knows the system obviously brings the system with him, him with the offensive coordinator. He can kind of leave that part alone. It's kind of worked out very well for them throughout this year so far. They did do their thing against Michigan, kind of get the job done there. But they are they going to keep getting better and better as season goes along is a question that they're going to have to answer. Do I think Auburn's going to be the team to really test them is probably the question. I don't think their defense is necessarily a juggernaut by any means. I do think there are going to be plays that are going to be able to be made. But Oklahoma has talent around their quarterback as well. Not only he throws the ball pretty effectively, he also runs as well. They have a good running back. They don't necessarily have bomb receivers by any means, but they are guys that can make plays if you leave it open for them. So if I had to say who I would lean in this game, I'd probably say Oklahoma. I just think their defense, being probably the best unit on the field in this game, is probably going to allow Oklahoma, even if they do have some offensive struggles, to kind of control the game. And with that I do think Oklahoma probably I would probably lean for them to win.
Speaker 1:Next game here that I want to talk about. Let's see here Michigan going to Nebraska Again. Michigan already has a loss this year to Oklahoma, who I just talked about, and they have Bryce Underwood as their starter. They don't have their head coach in Sherone Moore. He's serving the second game of his two-game suspension that they got to postpone until the third and fourth game of the year, and I forget the coach. They have coming at the helm for Sharon Moore while he's gone, but it's like some big dude that's kind of been doing things forever. Again, all credit to him. They got the win last week in Central Michigan, but I think this game is going to be a little bit different.
Speaker 1:They're coming into a Nebraska squad that Nebraska is trying to make a statement. They have a lot better squad. They have a quarterback in why am I forgetting his name now? This is bad Dylan Rayola. I got it, so that's good. They have a quarterback in Dylan Rayola in his second year playing a little bit better football. They have a defense that has a lot more talent and that they're ready to go, and I do think they're going to be able to match up with Michigan because it's like they do have Bryce Underwood, who is a very talented player. I'm never going to again, as much as I love to hate on Michigan, bryce Underwood can play. He has some physical tools that cannot be taught and he has a rocket of an arm.
Speaker 1:But the question for Michigan is do they have the weapons to challenge Nebraska's defense is like the biggest question for me. Other than their tight end, who I think is a very good tight end, it can be a very good weapon. I don't trust in any any of their other pass catching weapons at all. They do have a very good running back, um, justice Haynes, who they got as a transfer from Alabama. But but here's the thing this is what I'll give Michigan is that last game without Sharon Moore there coming off the Oklahoma loss.
Speaker 1:They did let Bryce Underwood do a lot more running in that game against Central Michigan than he did against Oklahoma. It felt like in the game against Oklahoma they were really trying to keep him boxed in, keep the offense simple and just try to make a lot of throws underneath. But it felt like with the new, with the what am I forgetting the name of the coach, when they're not the permanent guy. It's the stand-in guy With the coach. It's not necessarily the normal guy. It felt like they were opening up the offense for him a little bit to let him make plays. And I do think Bryce Underwood was looking to try to run make plays with his legs a little bit more in that game last week. But again it's against Central Michigan, a team that in their wildest dreams should not have the same talent as Michigan. So I do think it's a little bit easier in that spot to try to make plays that way.
Speaker 1:Now Michigan is going into a hostile environment. That stadium is always rocking Anytime I ever watch that team play in their house. Their fans are rabid, they're loud. It's a very hostile environment to walk into. And I do think Nebraska has a team that can really make a statement in this game and again, I think they have the offensive talent. It's not like they're overwhelming, but it is enough to have to be scared of and I do think Michigan's defense is okay. But do I think there are plays that can be made by Nebraska if they just kind of keep the offense going and if Dylan Rillo can make passes, because again, even though I do think that he has made some strides going from his first to his second year, but there are times where he just misses some plays where you would think he'd be able to make them. So if he can hit more throws than he misses in this game, keep the offense moving, get points when you get into the red zone, I do think Nebraska can win this game.
Speaker 1:I do think Michigan is a favorite. I think they're like a one and a half point or two and a half point favorite coming into this game. I did bet Nebraska to win this game. So you know, and obviously, even if I didn't bet the game, I'd still be rooting for Nebraska because you know I hate Michigan and all. So I think that I do think that the Nebraska being at home is going to be a huge part in this and I do think it's going to be a hostile environment and because of all those things put together, I do think Nebraska is going to be able to get the win, the upset win, in a crazy way, which is what I think is kind of crazy that Michigan is favorites. I don't know what Michigan has showed this year to show that they should be favorites against Nebraska team that is on the same level, talent wise as them, if not better. Maybe they're better team but maybe not as talented as Michigan. But I just don't know why Michigan should be favorites coming into this game. But maybe Michigan will prove me wrong in that sense. But I do think Nebraska should be able to win this game tomorrow.
Speaker 1:Next game to go to, let's see here. Purdue-notre Dame doesn't really matter, purdue's bad Notre Dame should win that game. They really should. If they lose, it's a problem. Georgia Tech coming off the win against Clemson. They have Temple coming in. They should win that game pretty handedly.
Speaker 1:South Carolina is going to Missouri. Missouri's one of those teams that a lot of people were looking at as like, potentially the the Indiana this year, because you know, indiana last year didn't necessarily have the hardest of schedules. I think the only team they play that they were like that they were worse than was Ohio State and they lost that game, but outside of that they had a very easy schedule. I think Missouri is kind of like that very popular pick coming into this year based off their schedule, who they had to play, that they could potentially win a lot more games, even if they're not a team that is necessarily good enough to have that type of season. Um South Carolina coming in, they are. Let's see here.
Speaker 1:I thought that Lenora Sellers was hurt and he wasn't going to be able to play. Let me see here Does it say whether he'll play or not? It's not guaranteed, not necessarily say as of yet whether he'll play or not, but here's my thing Even if he does play or not play here's my biggest thing with South Carolina. Even though Lenora Sellers is very talented and I think the game that they had against Vandy kind of had to prove this to me my thought was that they were kind of a two-man team. They have Lenora Sellers on the offensive side and then they have Dylan Stewart on the defensive side, their defensive end, and outside of that, none of the like. Their whole team is pretty new and they don't have a lot of guys that are like veteran, that are like consistent contributors on this team and with that I just don't think they're going to be able to beat a team. That's like a good football team and even though I don't think Missouri is necessarily one of the best teams out there, but they are a good team.
Speaker 1:They have Bo Pabula, the transfer quarterback from, I want to say, penn State yeah, it was Penn State where he transferred in from. He's coming in, he's doing a lot of running around, he's making some plays, passing the football, but they can make some big plays, they can really manufacture some offense. And if South Carolina doesn't have a defense that's going to be able to stop Missouri from doing what they want to do offensively, and then, on top of that, south Carolina doesn't have an offense that can survive without Lenore Sellers being Superman, and we don't even know whether he's going to play in this game or not. Probably not as of right now. And even if he does play, I just think it's a little bit too much of a two-man game for South Carolina to be able to win football games, and I think Missouri is a better overall football team and I think with that, especially with Missouri being at home, I do think Missouri should win this game, whether Lenora Sells plays or not. Um, next game. On top of that, lenora Sells wasn't like, even though he has those Superman plays where you're like oh, this is why the NFL is looking at him as like, maybe one of those special prospects come out, but he is not a consistent enough passer to necessarily like, say like he's gonna make every play out there, which is where he has to do his like the the most growing he probably needs. But yeah, missouri, I just think they're a better football team. They should be able to win Next game.
Speaker 1:I want to talk about Florida going to Miami. This one's a big one. You got Florida a wounded animal. I think they're 1-2 on the year. They're a team that's losing some, not really playing the best football. I do think that they have very like. Their football team is very talented. That's never been a question that I've had about this football team, but I just think they're not necessarily coached all that well. They are trying. I'm not necessarily saying they've given up on their head coach as of yet, but that could still definitely happen.
Speaker 1:They have Lagway, their starting quarterback, who has not looked good by any means. He's talented, but he just hasn't looked good. He hit through those five interceptions last week. If he would have thrown two or three less, they probably could have won that game last week against who they play. Why am I forgetting who they played now? Oh no, it was lsu. That's who they played last week. If he would have thrown a few less interceptions, I think florida really had a good chance to win that game because I do think offensively they do have pieces to worry about, um, and then defensively, they have dudes like they have dudes. Defensively, they have dudes Like they have dudes. Defensively, it's just in the biggest spots. They just make some very boneheaded plays and they're coming in, they're going to Miami to play a team that is very good on both the defensive and offensive lines. That's always been for this Miami squad under.
Speaker 1:Why am I forgetting the coach's name now? Oh no, oh no, I'm forgetting the coach's name now. Oh no, oh, I suck, I do suck. I got to get his name because I just Mario Cristobal. He's not the brightest head coach out there. He's more of a recruiting guy. He's not going to be one that's going to be calling the offense or defense, but one thing he knows how to do is that he knows how to recruit, he knows how to bring in the big dudes and he's more of an offensive line guy by nature. So I think on the offensive, defensive lines he has that thing humming right now. They've looking very good. And then offensively, right now they do have it is working to their advantage. Right now they brought in the transfer quarterback in man. Why am I forgetting names right now? Carson Beck, the transfer from Georgia. He's coming to this year, coming off the injuries that he had last year. He has a lot better offensive line in front of him in comparison to what he had last year at Georgia. He also has better weapons.
Speaker 1:Mark Fletcher, the running back for them, is a very good player. He has Tony, the wide receiver, malachi Tony, who is a very—he's small but he's a very fast, very explosive player to kind of throw to. And it's not just him. They also have the other wide receiver too I'm row too and it's not just him. They also have the other wide receiver too. I'm forgetting his name, but they have a very talented team offensively, defensively, they have some real dudes um desmond, um bane, I think, is it desmond bane, ruben bane. Ruben bane jr is a very talented defensive player. He looks like he's a monster out there and they just have a very talented team all around and I think they are a very.
Speaker 1:Even though they can make some dumb plays, I think in general they are going to beat you on the lines of scrimmage and I think now, with having Carson Beck, even though he has the talent to run your offense, he can make some plays where you're like, oh, probably shouldn't throw that ball. He takes a lot of chances at times but as of right now it's working and they have the running game to kind of support him in that way. And I think, against the Florida team, I think Florida's going to make this thing close. But I just think, when it comes down to it, I think Miami is just a little bit better on the lines of scrimmage and I think, with Carson Beck just playing better football in general, I think with Carson Beck just playing better football in general, I think he'll be able to keep the ball out of harm's way the most and I think they'll be able to win this game. I think Miami is only a they're a nine and a half point, seven and a half point favorite. Yeesh, I don't know. I think Florida could keep it close and keep that number close, but I do think Miami wins. But I just think that between the two teams, I just think Miami's having things going their way a little bit more and I think they'll be able to get the job done.
Speaker 1:Next game LSU is playing South Carolina, eastern Louisiana Ugh, this is why they need to play nine conference games, because they have games like this going on. That's insane. The fact you have a game like that going again. I'm speaking as an Ohio State fan. We played Grambling two weeks ago but like, come on, south Eastern Louisiana Lions, that looks like a creator team college football. It's insane. But with their offensive issues they definitely need to have a team that's a lot less talented than them to try to get their offense going, because it's been kind of cheeks over the last few weeks. So hopefully they'll be able to do that Along with Texas.
Speaker 1:They're playing Sam Houston, a team I have at least heard of, but that is a team that should not be on the same field as Texas and maybe Arch can kind of start figuring some things out. I'm not going to put a lot of stock in that, but again, every game that they can play it gives Arch another chance to go out there and kind of figure some things out, not only mentally but physically when it comes to playing the quarterback position, and not only that. It's like they have some weapons to figure out. They're. It's not everything is running. Their defense is awesome, but offensively everything's running so disjointed it's um, it's definitely crazy to see with this texas team because they just have so much talent on that team it's very hard to see them struggle the way they've been struggling as of this year.
Speaker 1:Um, next game actually last game I wanted to talk about um, michigan state, at number 25, usc. Let me get a drink here, all right, it's a big game. All right, it's a big game Because USC has been doing a lot of good things as of recently. Okay, I think they're undefeated on the season as of right now. Yeah, they're 3-0. Their offense has looked a lot better in comparison to what it was last year. Their defense has made a lot of strides of playing just better football. They brought in the defense coordinator before last year who was doing a lot of good things, and it's just kind of taking the next step forward this year. They don't have a lockdown defense, but it's a good enough defense. They're not necessarily giving up the crazy plays they were giving up in the three or four years before of, like these last four years, like they've been just giving up so many plays and they're like swiss cheese on defense. Their defense has something to it and they have some very talented guys back there and I think this is their time being at home.
Speaker 1:This is a saturday night game thriller man. 11 pm is when this game's gonna start. It's definitely a weird one for michigan state to be coming into because not only do they have to make the trip all the way to the east, the west coast, but it's like a late game for them to on their bodies. Hopefully they get there early to kind of like get their, get their bodies in check, be ready to go before this game starts. But it's a weird one. I'll be watching it.
Speaker 1:I did bet Michigan State. Michigan State's coming in as a 18 and a half point favorite. I hope that Michigan State will be able to have some fight to them offensively and be able to do some things defensively to kind of like keep USC in check. But here's my thing Everything's been going great for USC. They haven't necessarily played the most talented of squads, I think so far this year they have faced Missouri State, georgia Southern and Purdue. I do think Michigan State is better than all those three squads, even though defensively I think they are a little bit of a clusterfuck. If I have to be honest, it's like definitely not anything consistent when it comes to good defensive ball game, good defensive play. I don't know why I said ball game there, but I do think offensively they'll have something to say. Aiden chiles is playing some better football this year in comparison what he has been they and they have some real players that to be worried about for that usc defense.
Speaker 1:Um frazier, they're running back, um mckay. Frazier is a very good back. That'll be more of a bruiser. They have nick marsh and they have the other guy too who was their other? Oh no, who was the other running the other wide receiver to be worked to be um? Is it boyd? No, they have another guy too that they that they feature in that offense, but Nick Marsh being the head guy, like he is a very talented wide receiver, he's big, he's fast and they definitely feature him in that offense.
Speaker 1:And with that, I just think, can USC? Well, on USC's side, can they prove that against a team with a little bit better talent, that their season that they've had as of right now was not a mirage? Jaden Maieva, their quarterback, is it Jaden Maieva or Jordan Maieva? Jaden Maieva, I had it right the first time. Can they prove that this season is something they can keep going and not necessarily break down as soon as they have a team of similar talent to them, will they be able to keep it going like they need to? They have a decent running back. He's not necessarily doing great Not great, but it's not like he's tearing it up at all but he's making enough plays and they're running the football, at least trying to. Makai Lemon is their leading receiver for this squad. He's definitely very talented. He's fast, not necessarily the biggest, but he's out there making a lot of plays for them.
Speaker 1:Can USC kind of show in this game against a similar amount of talent that they can kind of keep that thing going as it's been looking so far this year? I don't think anybody's coming into this game thinking Michigan State can win, but I do think Michigan State can make a statement even in a loss. I think they can show that they can be a team that can be a tough out and, if they win this game, be able to make a huge statement. And again, I bet on Michigan State to cut to with the number. So I just don't think, even if USC keeps this thing going, I don't think they're going to beat Michigan State by over 19 points. I just don't think USC is that much better than what I've seen from Michigan State this year and if nothing else, michigan State has shown offensively they can score some points. So I just don't think USC is going to be able to lock Michigan State down from scoring, nor do I think USC is going to be able to score enough points and really run away with it.
Speaker 1:So I'll be watching this game intently, even though it'll be at 11 o'clock. I might have to take a nap before this game starts, just kind of be ready to go, but I'll be there watching. Hopefully I can win some money off of it. And again, my brother's sake, because I don't know how I haven't mentioned him yet, but obviously if you have bliss for the pot for a while, he's michigan state fan, um, he's very excited for this game coming up tomorrow. He'll be able to watch it all and I just think that with this, the recent cincinnati news, where things aren't looking so great, with joe burrow being out for the next three months at least, probably the rest of this season, I think him being able to get this game. I'm not even sitting here saying that michigan's. I don't think he thinks that Michigan State is necessarily going to like, like they're a better team than what people think they are coming into this year. I think he's starting to realize that as well, and if they can win this, I think it'll be a huge boost for my brother, jason, to be able to be able to have a team that he can have a little bit of hope in this season. And that's about all I got for college football.
Speaker 1:I think I talked about all the games I wanted to talk about. Um, and let's go ahead and jump into the NFL here. Let's go ahead, um, nfl. Before I get to doing the recap on the game last night, thursday night game, let me just see if there's any news that I want to talk about. Um, let's see here, mac Jones gonna be starting for Brock Purdy in the next game that they have against Arizona, so that's a piece of news. There again, it was kind of looked at as Purdy was gonna be missing multiple weeks, but you know it's been confirmed. Let's see anything else. No, nope, no other big news I have to talk about. Oh, also, the jayden daniels won't play for washington this week either. I think he's dealing with a knee injury. So that is another one one that Washington is going to have to deal with. But outside of that, there's not a lot of other news to talk about. If I think of something, I'll talk about it then. But let's go ahead and start with the game last night and doing the recap of that. So sorry, let me get over to this here.
Speaker 1:Dolphins went to Buffalo and they played last night. Buffalo did win the game 31-21. The game was honestly very close, like throughout most of the game, like through like the third quarter it was like 14, sorry, 21-14. And then in the fourth quarter things just kind of like Dolphins scored a touchdown but things kind of went crazy at the end there where it felt like the miami really had a chance to go ahead and like win the game. It was like 21 21. Let me make sure I have this right here play by, play, all plays. Let's see.
Speaker 1:Here, I think, was in that fourth quarter, because Miami scored the touchdown to tie the game up 21 to 21, let's see. And then they give the ball back to Buffalo. Buffalo goes and they're about to punt the football. It goes. It was like a three. It was about to be a three and out right one. It was about about to be like a they out right One. It was about to be like they got a first down, then it was another three and out and Buffalo is about to punt the ball back to Miami and one of the Miami special teams players comes in, hits the punter and then gives obviously roughing the punter a 15-yard penalty and allows Buffalo to kind of keep that drive going and they manage to get a touchdown to go up 28-21. And then let's see, and then Tua throws a very bad interception. I think it was like one little sequence there where you have the mess up on special teams to allow Buffalo to get the touchdown to go up seven and then they get Miami gets the ball right back. It's going down the field back is going down the field. Everything. Everything is looking great.
Speaker 1:And then tua throws that interception when they're getting close to the red zone and it was on a ball where I'm like he should not have thrown that whatsoever. It's like been a sparked. It sparked a huge debate on social media between kurt warner and emmanuel ocho, I think, where kurt warner was saying that it shouldn't have been on Tua and Emmanuel Acho saying it should have been. But the way I saw it was based on how that play went. It just looked like Tua should not have thrown that football whatsoever, because the guy he was throwing to that linebacker was just sitting right there ready to go and I just think he's been playing in the NFL for as long as he has, I think. Again, I'm not saying he has a football aficionado by any means, but it just felt like he's been playing long enough where he should not be making a play like that. He should have thrown to the flat, to the running back, but it is what it is.
Speaker 1:But it just kind of gives you an idea of even on a night where Miami is looking very good offensively, they played some decent ball and they stayed close in this game, based on how Miami had played the first two weeks when they got blown out by Indianapolis in the first game and then the last week they played the Patriots and it really was a back-and-forth affair but it didn't really feel like it was back and forth but Miami still looked like the worst team, but it just felt like New England was kind of playing it under their level. So it really didn't feel like, coming into this game, that Miami had any shot. I think Buffalo was like a 12 point favorite coming into this game, which is kind of crazy for NFL teams. It's usually that never really happens. Being a double digit favorite in the NFL is not really all that common. So coming into this game it wasn't like anybody thought Miami had a shot and they were playing some decent football. But it's just.
Speaker 1:Here's the thing with the Miami offense man. Let's start with the defense. The defense is awful. They were making plays last night. They really were keeping Buffalo in check for the most part, but it just felt like whenever Buffalo really stuck to running the football, they were able to and um cook had 108 yard. I mean, uh sorry, one james cook running back for buffalo. He had over 100 yards, rushing off 19 carries and a touchdown, um, but buffalo could not really get their passing offense going against miami, just like miami was doing some decent things on defense. Again, it just felt like they were getting ran through like Swiss cheese.
Speaker 1:But when it came to actually trying to throw the football, josh Allen was having a little bit of an issue, but again it wasn't. They weren't getting pressure on him whatsoever and it felt like every time that they were playing in zone at all, josh Allen was able to sit back there and just kind of like be easy going and just find the open dude or just run for some yardage and I just feel like they just couldn't get enough pressure on him whatsoever to make him uncomfortable. But even still, I just think Miami's offense is doing enough, even with their defensive struggles, to stay in the game. And then a couple things happen there in the fourth quarter to kind of get let Buffalo just kind of run away with it. And I just think that this is going to be Miami season man, and just feel like when things get hard, miami's going to be the team to crumble, like they're not going to be the team that's going to um out tough you. They're not going to be the team that's going to weather the storm and make and be better on the on the back end. It's just, even with Buffalo, their issues. They just kind of outlasted you and just waited for Miami to make their mistakes and Miami gave it to them.
Speaker 1:And again in that offense for Miami, even though they were getting points, it felt like it was like, when you look back on the Miami offense, like years ago where Tua was throwing the football all over the place. He was an, an MVP candidate, he had the most passing yards in a season like they had an explosive offense right and then over the last couple years with the head injuries and um them trying to protect Tua and like their offense has changed so much. Their offensive line is absolutely in shambles. Um, like the only guy that's like any type of consistent is probably their center, but outside of that their offensive line is awful but their offense is such a dink and dunk offense. I think Tua at a certain point in this game was averaging only half a yard down the field of airtime on his passes.
Speaker 1:They really are a dink and dunk offense. They are not trying to throw the football down the field whatsoever and it just allows the defenses to get closer and closer and closer and if two is not going to throw the football accurately and far enough to like make a defense be scared of getting hit over the top. Especially when you have Tyree Kill and you have Jalen Waddle, they have some dudes that really to be really scared of in the passing game. You know, I don't think Tyreek Hill is necessarily the same receiver that he was three, four years ago. He's plenty good enough to run past you if you give him a chance to, but they're just not having the offense to do that and they're throwing the football very short. Devon Achan is like becoming a featured wide receiver in their offense, even though he's a running back, because they throw so many dump-off passes, and I don't know. It's just this.
Speaker 1:It's such a regression, in a way, where it's just like if you would have said this two years ago, when you're looking at Miami offense, that like, oh, it's going to look like this at some point, I would have looked at you like you were crazy, but you know just how times change things. But again, miami kept it close. But it's just in the end, when things, when it was finally time for Robert to meet the road, miami crumbled, buffalo didn't, and Buffalo came out with the win in the end. And I think that's kind of like all it comes down to. And I think, to a certain extent, if you are a team, to a certain extent if you are seeing Mike Buffalo, even if you struggle in a game, you have to be ready to take advantage of the opportunities that are given to you, and Buffalo did, did exactly that and Miami gave it to him. Um, let's go, and that's about it on that game and it's just.
Speaker 1:It was pretty cut and dry, man. It just felt like, even with some of the struggles they had, josh Allen had a decent game 22 of 28, 213 yards, three touchdowns. It did feel like in the middle they kind of stalled on offense a bit, but it's just, I almost feel like Buffalo kind of scaled it back as soon as they felt like it was close for the most part, but it never felt like the Dolphins were really going to win the football game and I almost felt like the Bills kind of lost their edge in this game because of it and I felt like they were just like, hey, they're going to give it up at some point. We just got to be ready to take advantage and we're just not going to really push it like we would against some of the better teams in the AFC or the better teams in the NFL. So it really just it felt like the bills were just kind of just sitting lying and wait and just waiting for the dolphins to crumble. And the dolphins did exactly that and but it just Josh had an easy day man, he didn't have to push it, he didn't necessarily get a lot of pressure on him. Um, I would say some of the Miami defensive players were really kind of pushing it over the edge when making plays after the whistle. But other than that, man, josh Allen had a pretty easy day when it comes to what he was dealing with back there. He had no pressure at all. He was just really easy going back there.
Speaker 1:And I do think, like I said before, I do think after that first game with Baltimore, that he's kind of reached that cold-blooded killer mode where I'm like, hey, he's just gonna do exactly what's necessary to win a football game and he's not really throwing a lot of like um ducks, he's not throwing a lot of passes that you think like, oh, why are you throwing that? Like he's really taking care of the football. He'll turn it on when he needs to, but he's like really like, hey, I'm just going to give what my team needs. They need me to be the superstar Josh Allen. I'll do that, and I'll do it without um giving the ball away. But if not, I can be an easygoing, just run the offense and keep things moving forward, and I can do that as well. And I just do think Josh Allen has kind of taken that next step into being that type of quarterback that that team needs him to be. And with that. I just think that as long as they can kind of like do this in the playoffs you know, against the Chiefs and against the Ravens, because I just think, against anybody else they're going to have to face in the NFL I just think they'll probably be able to handle it, because Josh Allen is such a transcendent talent that I just think that they'll have the advantage over many of the teams that they'll play on their schedule this year. And that's about it on that.
Speaker 1:Let's go ahead and go with the picks here. Am I making good time? I haven't even checked, I've just kind of been going 45 minutes. Man, I'm being good this time. Look at me, man, coming off that last episode I was was doing it by myself and I went for two and a half hours practically. I was like man, I really need to again reacting to games always going to take longer than actually doing the previews and stuff like that. But man, I was like, again I'm not sitting here. I'm not sorry for it, by any means. Like I didn't. I wasn't sitting here with a lot of dead air, I was talking, I was doing like I had a lot to say about the things I had seen from the week before and I went with it. But I do think with doing the previews it does end up being a shorter pod and I do think I've done a little better on not going off on too many tangents. Credit to me, I'll try not to hurt my arm trying to pat myself on the back. But let's go ahead and make these picks.
Speaker 1:I did get the picks from Jace, so I will announce his picks as I go. I'm not going to sit here and take advantage of that of that and try to like make splits and stuff like that, because I am down by a game so far this season. I think I said this on the last pod Jace is currently up by a game on the year. So far, I am 24-8. Jace is 25-7. We do already have a win because we both picked Buffalo going into last night.
Speaker 1:And then let's go ahead and start with the first game Packers at Browns. Jace picked Green Bay. I will also go with that. I just think Green Bay might be a wagon as of right now, at least through two games of the year. That's what they're kind of showing me to be as I've been watching them. You got again, it's hard to say, through two games of the year, but Jordan Love playing very good football. Their defensive front seven is absolutely like they're monsters up there. They're getting a lot of pressure on you. They have a lot of things that they do to try to keep quarterbacks in the pocket and keep them from being able to make plays outside of it. Do I think there's? Can I think how should I say this? Think there's like? Can I think how should I say this? Do I think they might have a little bit of issues when teams can really like test their their secondary is where I think the Packers may have a few issues. But coming into this game against the Browns, do I think the Browns gonna be able to test them, test their secondary in a a way that I think can make it a problem? I don't think so. Joe Flacco being an old quarterback, he's not going to be able to extend a lot of plays. He's not getting away from anybody and I think the Browns offensive line has been, you know, bad for the most part. So I just think the Packers, with Micah Parsons as, like their star defensive end, he's kind of opened it up for everybody else on the defensive line to get after the quarterback and I do think they're going to be able to get after Joe Flacco him being 40 or 41 years old, I don't think he's getting away and I think Green Bay is going to be able to take full control of this game pretty easily and win. So I'll go with Green Bay to win that game. Jace, like I said, went Green Bay as well.
Speaker 1:Next game Indianapolis at Tennessee. Like I said on the last pod, daniel Jones, I think I might owe him an apology At least two games through the season. So far he's played some very good ball. He's keeping the offense rolling. They're running the football effectively. Jonathan Taylor has kind of looked like his old self. He's not injured or anything. He's been making a lot of big explosive plays, not only catching the ball out of the backfield but running the football.
Speaker 1:And I think the Titans are just an undermanned team right now. Man, defensively they don't have a lot of big playmakers other than Simmons, their defensive tackle, but outside of that they really don't have anybody defensively to really be scared of. Cam Ward has been a quarterback that can make some plays Like you see, some wild plays every once in a while that make you think like, oh, that's what, like he can do some things that not a lot of other guys can do, but his offensive line is very bad, has not been able to protect him whatsoever. He doesn't have any like Calvin Ridley being his best wide receiver. But his offensive line is very bad, has not been able to protect him whatsoever. He doesn't have any like Calvin Ridley. Being his best wide receiver on this team is kind of insane. They really don't have anybody around him to get the ball to, to kind of help him out.
Speaker 1:So, with all of that being the case, I think especially Indianapolis, they're just a lot more talented football team. So I'm going to go with Indy. Jace also went with Indianapolis as well. Indy is just a. They're a good, talented team. They have weapons everywhere. They have Tyler Warren, their tight end Again the guy they drafted out of Penn State. They're using him in a lot of like creative scenarios to get him in the football. I just think that Indianapolis has potentially found their quarterback over, like I think Daniel Jones can be the guy, guy to like. I'm not sitting here saying that he's going to lead them to a super bowl, but I do think he can be a guy that can run your offense. Get the guy, get the ball to your playmakers and you can win football games with and honestly, it may not sound like the biggest compliment in the world, but by comparison to what I have said about daniel jones over the last two or three years, it's a huge step forward in comparison to what I've said about him before. So Indianapolis a very, very good football team and I think if the struggles that Houston keeps having, if they can't figure out their offensive line, and if Jacksonville with Trevor Lawrence is going to keep playing like ass, I think Indianapolis might be able to run away with this division if those other two teams in their division can't figure out their issues.
Speaker 1:Next game Cincinnati going to Minnesota. Jace picked Cincinnati in this one. I don't know, man. I think Minnesota defensively has I'm not going to sit here and say that they have a defense that can stop Jamar Chase's and T Higgins from doing what they want to do, but I do think they have a defense that can get after Jake Browning and make him uncomfortable in the pocket, and he's already shown that he's more than capable of throwing picks on his own without necessarily needing a lot of help. So I just think that Minnesota may be able to put a lot of pressure on Cincinnati and I don't know, man, even though Minnesota has freaking, why am I forgetting who? Oh man, why am I forgetting who the quarterback is they're going to have starting in this game? Because not JJ, he's hurt and I think they said he's not going to be playing for the next two to four weeks, it's going to be Hold on. I got to get this because it's hilarious Carson Wentz. He is going to be their starting quarterback over the next few weeks and I just think it doesn't matter how good of an offensive coordinator their head coach is and how he can kind of put things together, but I think Carson Wentz is so bad and he's going to make so many mistakes, even with having all the weapons that he has on the offensive side of the ball.
Speaker 1:I just think that between the two, I think I believe in Browning more, but, man, I think the defense from Minnesota can really keep them in it. Oh man, I don't know. And Cincinnati's defense can be iffy, but they showed so far they can be opportunistic and take advantage of the plays that are given to them. I'm going to take Cincinnati because I'm not going to be the guy that takes a chance on Carson Wentz and looks stupid on the back end If I'm giving a chance to Cincinnati in that offense to try to go ahead and get the job done. But again, it could look just as bad rooting for Cincinnati to win and their defense being as suspect as it is. But you know what I want to say, to kind of give myself an out, I'm going to be, I'm going to um, be arm and arm with my brother Jace in his hard time and pick Cincinnati. That's an out, that's an out I can take for sure.
Speaker 1:Next game Pitt going to New England. Um, I don't know, man, being a Pittsburgh fan because I've been going to the gym, like, obviously I've been going to the gym. Well, I haven a Pittsburgh fan because I've been going to the gym. Obviously I've been going to the gym. Well, I haven't talked about this, but I've been going to the gym for a while now and there's this guy at the gym, also another Pittsburgh Steelers fan. I'm coming into this game and, oh man, I just saw the guys that are going to be out for Cincinnati. Obviously Joe Burrow's out. The guys that are going to be out for Cincinnati Obviously Joe Burrow's out. But DJ Turner's, questionable Shamar Stewart's not going to be playing for them, cam Taylor-Britt's doubtful in this game. I'm going to stick with Cincinnati. I'm going to stick with it. But Pittsburgh, pittsburgh, new England Talking to the guy at the gym and I have been so incredibly negative coming off that last game.
Speaker 1:They can't stop a nosebleed man. Defensively it has not looked good. I think some news came out that the first round pick and Derek Harmon is questionable. They said he's been practicing a little bit this week. I don't think he'll play this week, I really don't. But Joey Porter Jr is still out for them, deshaun Elliott is still out for them and the defense does not look good whatsoever. Man, they can't stop a nosebleed, they're secondary, even though Jalen Ramsey has been making plays but he's getting run away from. But then when I look at it, and then offensively, aaron Rodgers can't run away from any type of pressure, again, it's not like I was really expecting all that much with him being 41, going on 42 years old. They haven't been able to get the ball to DK Metcalf as much as I would like. They can't run the football whatsoever. Jalen Moore has been making a lot of plays whenever he can, but the offensive line isn't really doing all that much to help him out, even though I think individual efforts have not been all that bad for the offensive line on the Steelers and I don't necessarily the tackle play has not been all that bad for Pittsburgh as of right now.
Speaker 1:Jones, why am I forgetting? Oh no, I gotta get the hold on depth chart. I always forget names, especially when I'm broadcasting. Um, broderick Jones, the starting left tackle, he has not been bad like the first game. He was awful, but the second game he was not necessarily all that bad at all. I really don't think he was. And then Troy Faltano um, he wasn't bad last game either. So I think the tack tackles weren't necessarily the issue.
Speaker 1:Last game, when we got beat up on by Seattle, it was our guards. Our guards were getting pushed around like crazy and I think, with that being the case, you can't run the football effectively. If that's the case, and they also, if Aaron Rodgers is getting the pressure up the middle, it's Also. If Aaron Rodgers is getting the pressure up the middle, it's going to be harder for him to get away from that type of pressure. And I think that, even though I don't necessarily think that New England has the most talented of teams. They put a lot of money into their defensive line and I think that there's a chance that it may get kind of ugly against this New England team. But here's my issue New England, outside of Drake May, they don't necessarily have the most talented of players around him, stevenson being their leading running back right now, because apparently they don't trust Travion Henderson to be their starting back as of right now. They're not giving him a lot of plays as the season has gone along so far. So they don't have a lot of big playmakers around Drake May and Kayshaun Boutte is, like their, their leading receiver for them. So I just think, do I think new England is talented enough as a team, especially offensively, to kind of take advantage of the weaknesses Pittsburgh has? I'm not so sure, but Drake may run away from pressure and but again, I think the Steelers are okay on the defensive line.
Speaker 1:I don't know man, I'm going to take Pittsburgh, but I think I have made this point very clear, not only to the guy at the gym that's also a Steelers fan, but to anybody that I could talk I've talked to you about this that if the Steelers lose this game against New England, like, consider me out on the season. Right, consider me. I'm ready to lose every football game imaginable and get the best pick possible and I want to go pick up Caleb Downs in the draft. That's where I'm at. If we lose this game against New England. If color me out on this season, I'm done, I am, I'm, I'm officially over all of it, man.
Speaker 1:If we lose this game, I'm done, I'm done, I'm done with the season man. And again, I'm done, I am, I'm officially over all of it, man. If we lose this game, I'm done, I'm done, I'm done with the season man. And again, I'm not going to sit here and say I'm not going to watch the games. I'm going to watch them and when it comes down to it, I'm a bitch. When it comes down to it, I'm watching this team play. I'm going to want them to win. I really am. But in my heart, in my soul, and I can feel it like in my balls, that if we lose this game against New England, I am done.
Speaker 1:I want to lose as many games as possible and either go get the quarterback of the future or go get Caleb Downs I would love to do that or get a player that can really help and like really change our team for the future. And I wouldn't even be mad if we took Aaron Rodgers out at some point, because I'm just like, if we're going to keep losing games anyway, why go with the 41 year old? That's not going to fix. He's not a part of our future plans whatsoever. If, um, either we can get old boy in, why am I forgetting his name now? Oh no, I keep doing this, I suck at this. Um, mason Rudolph, either get Mason Rudolph in there, or, if Will Howard can come back I don't think he's an IR, so he's not going to be able to come back for at least another two or three games. So maybe get one of the young guys in. I don't know, man, if we're going to keep losing, let's just go ahead and suck all the way, because I don't think, no matter how this season goes, they're not going to fire Mike Tomlin, so that's not going to change. But at least we can like if we're going to lose games, try to lose as many games as possible and get. Get a player that'll help us for the future, instead of just keep putting band-aids on this issue, which is what I would love to not do. Keep putting band-aids on. But you know that's not going to happen. So I was going to keep trying because that's what they do again. I love them for that but I also hate them for that. But I'm going to pick Pittsburgh. But man, if they lose this game I'm going to be pissed.
Speaker 1:Next game, la Rams at Philadelphia. I'm going to take Philly. Jace also took Philly in this game. Did I mention Jace took Pittsburgh in the last game? I'm not sure I did, but I'll say Jace also took Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh in the last game. I'm not sure I did, but I'll say Jace also took Pittsburgh. La Rams going to Philly I'm going to take Philly.
Speaker 1:I am a little bit worried about the secondary of Philadelphia. They are going against LA Rams team that definitely can throw the football around. Obviously Matthew Stafford being the quarterback for that team you know he's a guy that can throw the football a lot and they got Puka Nakua and then Devontae Adams as their leading receivers. Obviously that is a very crazy wide receiver dude to have to deal with. If you're the Eagles secondary and especially with them struggling as much as they have, I just don't, I wonder. And LA Rams? Obviously they have a very good offense, corner slash, head coach and um, sean mcveigh, so he knows how to put kind of put your defense in conflict and make you have to make a decision and then kind of make you pay for whatever you do. So I am worried about this, I really am. And in la ramp, like they have enough defensive pieces. I'm not saying they're saying they are like elite defensively, but they have enough dudes that can get after you if you're not playing at your best.
Speaker 1:And I made this point last podcast that maybe the Eagles are at a point now where they're like the Chiefs of like the last two years, where they're just going to do just enough to win. They're not sitting here trying to be the Death Star, they're just going to do just enough to win. They're not sitting here trying to be the Death Star, they're just going to make enough plays to win every football game as they can do it. I do think, with the issues from the tush push last game, where there were clips of their guards going early and false starting and their center kind of being over the football and not like he should be, I do think it's going to be officiated a little bit differently, being the tush push, and I think that that may be a little bit of an issue because because, again, like what they've been doing the last three or four years is that as soon as it's third and one, fourth and one, what are they doing? They're going straight to the tush push.
Speaker 1:And if they have to be a little bit more worried about getting hit for calls, because now the NFL is kind of like locked in on it and like made they I think the news came out that they have made it a point to tell all the refs like hey, if you're officiating the game with the Eagles, you have to be very diligent on this play about making them follow all the rules. If they turn those third, third and one, fourth and ones into third and six, fourth and six, with a five-year penalty being for false starts and stuff, that can definitely change the way this Eagles team works, especially with their offense not necessarily clicking as of right now. They have not shown an explosive offensive team so far this season. I'm not saying they can't be that, but they just haven't shown to be that so far this year and I'm not sure that they're just going to be able to turn it on against the LA Rams, a team that can definitely do their thing offensively. But again, I'm going to pick Philly. Philly's at home, their defense, their front seven, is very, very good. They're going to come after you and they're going to be able to get pressure on Matthew Stafford Again another quarterback a little bit older, not going to be able to run away from pressure. But if their secondary doesn't hold up, I do think LA can kind of make this thing very interesting with all the playmakers that they have on this offense. But I'm going to take Philly. But I think this game could be very close. I'm going to love making a parlay for this game because it'll be a very good game and I do think that if Philly isn't necessarily getting better offensively I don don't know man, I just think that it's just a little bit weird. But again, they have a bunch of very good players Obviously Saquon, obviously Jalen Hurts and obviously AJ Brown and Devontae Smith, like they have a lot of. They have the players. It just hasn't come together as of yet and I'm not sure if they're going to be able to just turn it on against the Rams. But I'm going to take Philly. I'm going to take Philly.
Speaker 1:Next game, jets at Buccaneers. I don't think Justin Fields is playing in this game. I think he's still going through concussion protocol, so he's going to be out. Yeah, they're saying he's out for this game so he's not going to play. They're going to have who's their? Is their backup? Tyrod Taylor? I think he is. I think they came in last game, right? Am I crazy? It's Tyrod, I'm not nuts. Tyrod Taylor. Okay, so Tyrod's going to be starting for them in this game.
Speaker 1:Again, against the Bills, their offense didn't look nearly as explosive, even with Justin Fields on the field. It did not look nearly as explosive as it did in Week 1 against the Steelers. Again, steelers, their defense is absolutely awful as of right now. So I'm not going to sit here and say that it's like a crazy feat to make the Steelers' defense look bad, because they've been doing that just fine by themselves. To make the Steelers defense look bad because they've been doing that just fine by themselves and they have the Buccaneers coming off the big win against Houston and I just think they're a better football team right now.
Speaker 1:Jace did pick Tampa Bay. I think he's been on the Tampa Bay train coming into the season and then so far this year, and I have to give him a lot of credit for that, because I did pick Houston to beat them last week and Tampa Bay came back and won the game at the end. That's what he's done the last two games this year. So they have this Baker. If you just keep him in there, keep the game close, they have a team that can kind of put things together and win the game at the end. I don't think Emeka Guka is going to play in this game. I think they said he is questionable. So who knows? He has a hip injury. Tristan Wirfs is still out. They still have Chris Godwin, their offense tackle Gadecki, I believe, is going to be out on IR. So he's going to be out for a while, and I think their guard is also hurt as well. So their offensive line is a little bit kind of like patchwork together and I think the New York Jets defensive line is actually very good and they're gonna be able to get after Baker a little bit. But I just think that offensively, do I think the Jets gonna be able to do enough to win this game? I don't think think so, especially if they're going down to Tampa. I'm gonna go ahead and pick Tampa Bay to win this game. I believe in Baker. I believe in that team. I think they just have a good football team that knows how to win and I think the Jets just don't have enough. Especially with them having Tyra Taylor coming into this game, I think Tampa Bay is going to win this game. I'm not going to sit here and say going away, but they're just a better football team.
Speaker 1:Next game you got the Raiders going to the Washington. Commanders Commanders are going to be without Jane Daniels. Who's going to be their starter? Now I got to check I didn't check this beforehand their backup is Marcus Mariota. He's going to be starting for them coming into this game Again, a decent backup, but again he can make his mistakes while he's out there.
Speaker 1:You have the Raiders coming off of a bad loss against the Chargers, so what am I going to believe in? The Commanders are really Jane Daniels heavy. Their offensive line is not necessarily all that great when it comes to protection. I can speak English, I swear. And then you have the defense for Washington. That isn't necessarily all that great either. And then you have a Raiders team that their defense isn't necessarily anything to really be worried about. But offensively, geno Smith had a bad game last week. Can he come back and kind of bounce back and have a better game, a better outing? That is where I kind of have my questions. It's just can the Raiders take advantage of the Jaden Daniels-less Washington team? Oh man, I don't know.
Speaker 1:Jace did pick Las Vegas to win this game. I'll take Geno to kind of play some better ball. I just think that this Washington team is so Jane Daniels based. I feel like it's going to be again even with him. They've been kind of struggling this year to kind of get their offense going. But with Marcus Mariota out there, I just don't think they're going to be able to kind of come back and be able to beat a Vegas team that can score the football. They can. Their offense line isn't great. They can't run the football necessarily all that effectively right now, but I just think Vegas can kind of make enough plays to win this game. I do think it'll be close.
Speaker 1:Atlanta going to Carolina is the next game. I'm going to. Carolina is the next game. I'm going to pick ATL. So did Jace. I just think Carolina is a bad football team and I think ATL is a better team, obviously. Um, they have just a better overall talented roster. I think their defense is better. I think their offense is better. I think they have a little bit more cohesion with um their offensive system. Michael Penix, I think they have a little bit more cohesion with their offensive system. Michael Penix, I think, is just a better player right now than Bryce Young.
Speaker 1:B John Robinson is like a man amongst boys right now. They keep giving him the football as many times as possible and he can't be stopped. I just don't think Carolina has the defense to stop a guy like that. And then if you try to stop B John, then they can get the ball to Drake London. They can get the ball to Drake London. They can get the ball to why am I forgetting the other guys? Oh no, this sucks, give me a second. They can get the ball to Kyle Pitts. They can get the ball to Ray McLeod or Darnell Mooney. They have some real weapons to deal with. If you try to stop one, they have other guys to throw to make. Michael Penix is a very good point guard for that offense.
Speaker 1:Kind of get the ball to the open guy, keep the offense humming and then the Falcons defense isn't playing a lot better football and I just think that the Falcons are not going to do what the Cardinals did last week, where Cardinals kind of got ahead and they just kind of took their foot off the gas because they felt comfortable. I don't think Atlanta is a team that really is talented enough to feel that way and I think that with the defense that they have playing a lot better ball, they're going to keep the pressure going on Brayson on that offense and I just don't they're going to keep the pressure going on Brayson on that offense and I just don't think they're going to be able to get up. I don't think they're going to be able to just take advantage of a team taking them lightly and just kind of start scoring points in the way that they did against Arizona. So I'll take Atlanta to win the game against Carolina. Next game Houston at Jacksonville. I don't know, man, these are two teams that have really been struggling so far. Got Houston that lost that game last week to Tampa when they had so many opportunities to win.
Speaker 1:Cj, as much as I love him, has not necessarily been playing all that well. He has plenty of reasons why the offensive line isn't protecting in front of him whatsoever. He's very uncomfortable. The offensive line isn't protecting in front of him whatsoever. He's very uncomfortable, he doesn't trust the offensive line in front of him. Because of that, he's not reading the field as well as he probably should and with that he's missing a few passes, not reading things as well. Again, it's not like he's throwing a bunch of picks or anything, but it's just the offense isn't humming as much as it probably should not. On top of the fact they can't run the football either, it's like they just have a lot of issues offensively.
Speaker 1:But defensively that team is absolutely legit and they can get after anybody. They have a great front seven. Their back end is absolutely amazing. They have great safeties, great corners, and I think that because of that and and I think that because of that and you look at that on the Jacksonville side Trevor Lawrence has been playing like shit. He has not been playing good ball. They have whoa sorry, I went through a brain fart there. Why am I forgetting? Oh, no, they're starting wide receiver. Um, nope, didn't mean to press that. They're starting receiver Brian Thomas Jr. They're a leading guy, they're why. They're the guy that kind of like put that offense around. He's kind of playing like butt cheeks right now and I think against a team like Houston defensively, it's going to get after you. Trevor Lawrence knows how to throw picks like he's very good at that like there's not, like he is going to give the ball up. He's going to make some plays that are like make you like think like man. You've been playing so long in this league, why are you trying to throw football like that, like in that spot? And he'll still be able to take advantage of that, even though I do think that Jacksonville does have some real talent offensively, but and then defensively as well, they do have their front five, their front seven. They have some very good guys. I can get after the pass and I do think CJ's gonna have to worry about that. But I just think, in a game where you have two offenses that are struggling, I just think that the fact that CJ will take care of the ball a little bit better than Trevor Lawrence will, I'm going to give them the edge. Jace also picked Houston in this matchup. Again, do I think I have a little bit of like CJ Stroud on my heart, on my mind right now. That kind of like keeps me on their side, probably, but I just think that Jacksonville with their I think these two teams are very similar and I just think CJ's a little bit better at keeping the football out of harm's way in comparison to Trevor. So I'll take Houston to win Next game, denver going to the LA Chargers.
Speaker 1:I think the LA Chargers are rolling right now, playing some very good football offensively. Defensively you have Denver not necessarily doing the same. I think their offense is struggling a little bit. I think their defense, even though it's very good, has been gettable. Let's see here Like, look at that game against the Colts last week. The Colts never punted. As great as that Broncos defense is, the Colts didn't have to punt against this Broncos offense. As soon as the Colts got the ball, they either hit a field goal or got a touchdown and then they had to kick the ball off. They'd never had to punt.
Speaker 1:And I think that do I think the Chargers have the same amount of weapons as the Colts? Probably not. Do I think they have the same offensive line as the Colts? I don't think they do. But I do think that Justin Herbert will be able to make plays, get outside the pocket, extend plays and get the ball to his weapons. I do think he'll be able to do that and I do think that they have their defense will be able to Do. I think it's a lockdown defense, no, but I do think they'll be able to do enough to keep the Broncos from doing necessarily what they want offensively. You're not necessarily going to be able to run against this Chargers defense very well. So I do think I'm going to go with the Chargers, especially with them being at home.
Speaker 1:Jace also picked the Chargers in this game and I just think that, especially with me being a Bo Nix a little bit like a hater of mine I don't want to go as far as to call myself a hater of Bo Nix, but I'm just not as confident in Bo Nix as a bona fide starter, like a lot of other people are Heck Jace. He's a Bo Nix guy as well and I think I came in a little bit more negative on him in comparison to most. So I think the LA Chargers Justin Herbert playing out of his mind right now playing some very good ball I think I'm going to go with the LA Chargers to win and so did Jace. Next game New Orleans going to Seattle. Jace picked Seattle on that spot. I'm going to take Seattle as well.
Speaker 1:New Orleans is not going to go winless this season. Right, I know I just said that statement without a lot to say after it, but I'm like there's no way they go winless and, based on that thought, I'm like the Seattle squad looked very good against Pittsburgh last week. They absolutely destroyed us. All the credit to them. But they have a lot of dudes missing on their defense this week.
Speaker 1:Let me see if I can get all the guys they have that are going to be out. Seattle is going to be without Nick Imanwuri, who is probably not going to play Julian Love. Their safety is probably not going to play. Devonuri, who is probably not going to play Julian Love. Their safety is probably not going to play. Devon Witherspoon probably not going to play. Zach Charbonnet probably not going to play.
Speaker 1:For them. They're backup running back. One of their guards is also out and I'm like the Saints team is not great, but last week they showed me a little bit offensively. Spencer Rattler can get the football rolling. Alvin Kamara still looks like a very good back that can make some plays and they have guys to throw the football to. But I'm just like. I just think in Seattle that's a hostile environment to go play in and I think Seattle is a better football team as of right now. Do I think they have a lot of pieces missing? Yeah, do I think, necessarily, that much better of a football team than New Orleans? I am not like, again, I think they're more talented, for sure. But do I think that Sam Darnold can like, make some like stupid mistakes that can keep its football team in it? Oh, I know for sure that he can do that, but I just think that the Saints just don't have enough, even though I do think they're. They're gonna get a win against somebody we don't expect and it's gonna make us like, make our heads turn. But I think Seattle in see, if this game was in New Orleans, I think I'd feel a little bit differently. But this is in Seattle. This is the Seahawks playing at home. I'm going to take them to win that football game, just like Jace did.
Speaker 1:Next game you got Dallas going to Chicago. Come on, man, we're going Dallas as down as I have been on Dallas. They coming off the win last week against the Giants, a game that should not have been as close as it was. But their defense is absolutely awful and again their defense has been so bad. Maybe this might be a game where Caleb Williams comes out and has a better day and makes you like, oh, maybe he can make some strides to be a better quarterback. But again, that may just be a mirage if it pops up, because I just think that this Dallas secondary is so garbage, it's so bad and it's not like the Chicago's void of weapons. They, roma Doomsday is having a great season so far and they, they have guys to throw to like they have weapons for that offense to deal with.
Speaker 1:But it's just can uh, oh no, why, why, why, why I just forget names at the absolute worst possible time. Can uh, caleb Williams sorry I was, I went blank on his name for some reason, even though I just said it two minutes ago. Williams, sorry, I went blank on his name for some reason, even though I just said it two minutes ago. Can Caleb Williams have a day? Can he just get a little bit better? Keep the offense moving, especially against this very bad defensive for the Cowboys. I just think that is a possibility.
Speaker 1:But I think this Chicago Bears defense is a real problem, like it showed to me last week, and even though I don't think the Cowboys offense is nearly as good as the Detroit offense, when that Detroit offense is rolling like they were last week. Do I think the Dallas Cowboys offense can be that? I don't think so. But I do think the Dallas Cowboys offense will be able to do enough to win this football game, especially against this very bad Chicago Bears defense. But I just think that there is a real chance that Chicago Caleb Williams come out with those weapons he does have to throw to. I think they can make this game a little bit closer than what people think it'll be. Think about it this way when you look at those two teams, there's no way a lot of people think that the Dallas Cowboys should only be a one and a half point favorite in this game. Again, this is in Chicago, so even if this game was in Dallas, they would still only be like a what is that? Three points for being at home. So they'd still only be like a two and a half point favorite, two and a half point, three point favorite. So I think, with that being the the case, I think it shows how bad that Dallas Cowboys defense is, especially if you watch it. Watch their defense last week against the Giants. I just think that this could be a spot where Caleb Williams has a little bit of a resurgence and play some better ball and maybe gives the, the Bears fans a little bit of hope that he can play some better ball. I just think that it might be a little bit of a mirage because I think this Cowboys defense might be one of the worst in the NFL. But yeah, I think Dallas wins the game. So does Jays.
Speaker 1:Next game. We have a couple left Arizona going to San Fran. San Fran's going to have Mac Jones starting for them. Once again in this ballgame you have San Fran coming off the win they had last week Against. Why am I forgetting who it was against? It was Against the Saints Game was closer than you would like. Their defense does not look as good. Nick Bosa is doing absolutely amazing things, but outside of him that San Fran defense has not been as well. The San Fran defense is not nearly as good as it's been in years past, for sure, like it's. Obviously they've a lot of guys have left, who, uh, uh uh, fonga and um, I'm forgetting the, the linebacker's name, oh no, greenlaw, he's also gone.
Speaker 1:They had some guys leave this team defensively, but my only problem is that even with offensively they have Christian McCaffrey, mack Jones. He showed last week he can make the throws necessary to win a football game. He's not going to wow you but again, like I've said, san Fran has made a San Fran and that Kyle Shannon offense has made a career off of having quarterbacks that are less than like stellar at the quarterback position coming out and being able just to be a avatar, just to keep the offense moving, and they can win football games doing it that way. And I just think even though I think Arizona definitely has a chance to win this football game but it's just think about how how that game went with Carolina last weekend Like, can the team that let the Panthers have a chance in that game?
Speaker 1:Do I think they can go into this, go into San Fran's house in San Francisco and I think it used to be called Candles, I'm not sure what it's called, no, it's called Levi Levi Stadium right, can they go into that team's house and play good, consistent football with Kyler Murray at the helm, to beat a team, even though I think San Fran is a weakened, weakened team in comparison what they've been in years past? But do I think straight ups the? Do I think straight up, arizona can play good enough football to beat a team that knows how to win football games. I just don't think they are consistent enough. I don't think Kyler Murray can be consistent enough and I think he'll play every game. He'll have a few drives where it's like he really puts it together and then offense will be humming. They're getting the ball to McBride, they're getting the ball to Harrison Jr and it looks like very good and they'll start to run the football effectively. But it's just they'll have these lulls.
Speaker 1:And I'm like san fran, even though I think they're a wounded dog and I think that they are nowhere as near as good as they've been but they have jones running the offense, they have christian mccaffrey, they have ricky pierce. All that offensive line isn't necessarily as great as I've been, as great as spending years past, but it's good enough. And I just think that if ari Arizona plays that bullshit and like starts playing, like having that law, san Fran is good enough to take advantage of that moment. And I just think that. I just think San Fran is going to. I think I'd lean San Fran to win the football game. If I have to make a pick off, take San Fran. I just can't trust Kyler Murray at the head of that offense. It's just so up and down. It's a roller coaster man. And I just think San Fran as a team even though I think they're not as good as they've been in years past they know how to win football games. And I just think San Fran is just. They just know what they're doing. They'll take advantage of the moments that Arizona will give them in a way that I don't think Carolina could finish the job with last week, way that I don't think Carolina could finish the job with last week.
Speaker 1:Next game Kansas City going to the New York Giants. Oh, by the way, jace did pick San Fran as well. I'm not sure if I said it before, but I want to make sure to get that out there. Next game Kansas City New York Giants. Jace picked the Giants in this game. I am not sure why. This is the problem. The Giants played one good game last week offensively.
Speaker 1:Russell Wilson played one great game last week. He kind of he got into the time machine, went into the time, like went in the time machine, went back to what he was, back when he was in his prime days with Seattle and he was just throwing deep bombs all over the place to Malik neighbors and it was working. Like I said before about that Dallas Cowboys defense, they are awful, it's so bad. But my thing is, even with the Kansas City defense struggling as much as they have this year, will they make the same mistakes that the Cowboys did with Malik Nabors? I just don't think they'll do that. I think the Kansas City defense will be able to get after Russell Wilson a little bit more than what the Dallas Cowboys did, because I just think they have more players in the front seven that can get after you. And I also think that Kansas City's offense even though I think they have been not nearly as good as they've been in years past they still don't have Rasheed Rice, with him being on suspension, but I do think Hollywood Brown's going to be coming back and playing in this game. Now, is Hollywood Brown back? He is back, so he'll be back playing in this game. Well, he's been playing, but Xavier Worthy is questionable, so they're not sure whether he's going to come back or not, but the news is that he might. So if he comes back in this game, they'll have one more weapon for Mahomes to throw to. And I just think, offensively, I don't think Kansas City will have to.
Speaker 1:Even though everybody talks about how non-explosive Kansas City's offense is, I just think against even the Giants' front seven, their defensive line is absolutely amazing, right, and I think that the Kansas City offensive line is not nearly as good as it's been in years past, even though I think they've kind of fixed their left tackle issue a little bit with the draftee that they brought in in the first round. Why am I forgetting his name now? Oh no, he's a Buckeye. Why am I doing this to myself? Josh Simmons. They brought in Josh Simmons. He's playing at the left tackle spot. He's playing much better than what they had last year at that position. But I think they have some issues on that offensive line and Mahomes doesn't necessarily trust it and against, if they get stuck on third and longs like obvious passing downs against this Giants defense and they can get after you, it can be a very hard day. But I just I think offensively they'll be able to put a plan together to kind of keep things going. They'll be able to put a plan together to kind of keep things going, keep, stay away from third and longs and they'll just keep that offense going and be able to do enough to win the football game Jace did pick the Giants to win.
Speaker 1:I'm going to go ahead and take the Kansas City Chiefs. I think even at their worst I think they're better than the Giants. And I think that even with Wilson going into the time machine last week and kind of bringing it back and really showing what he can be at his best, can you trust Russell Wilson to play like that on a week-in, week-out basis? I think he's more than shown that he's not capable of that over the last few years. And I'm going to go ahead and bank on that and I'm going to say Kansas City takes advantage of that and I think they're going to be able to win this game. And I think that, even though I don't think Kansas City is nearly what they have been, I think they have enough to kind of like just control this football game. And I think Patrick Mahomes he's been a playmaker this whole season so far hasn't led to win so far as of yet. But I think against this Giants team that's not nearly the team that Kansas City is. I think Kansas City will be able to make the plays to win.
Speaker 1:Last but not least, it's the Monday night football game Detroit going to Baltimore. Ooh, this one's a close Jace picked Baltimore. By the way, I don't know man Detroit coming off the game where they played Absolutely amazing against Chicago. So I do think it definitely helps their offense that they were able to put up a performance like that and they were able to run the football, pass the ball. Jergoff had an awesome game. And then you have the Ravens Coming off of their win last week when they beat the Browns Pretty handily, didn't really have to run the football that effectively, they were just able to make the plays to win, didn't necessarily have to extend themselves too much to win that football game. I don't know man. Jace picked Baltimore.
Speaker 1:Baltimore is a very good regular season team. They're probably one of the best regular season teams we've ever seen, obviously with Lamar Jackson, with Derrick Henry, with doing things they needed to do, especially offensively. But defensively is where I think the issues come, because for the Ravens they are questionable. With Nate Wiggins, he's coming, he has an injury. Matabike, the defensive tackle for them, has an injury. So I'm just sitting here like they're a couple pieces, a little bit looking a little bit iffy. Yeah, detroit coming in with all that momentum coming off the way against chicago again, do I think, do I think it's even close the teams between chicago and the ravens? No, ravens are a much better football team offensively, defensively everything, andly defensively everything, and I think defensively the Ravens will be able to do a lot more than what Chicago was able to do, obviously, but do I think the Ravens secondary can handle this Lions offense if they're humming like this Is where I think the issues come in. It is a way it is going to be.
Speaker 1:On Sunday night no, I'm sorry, monday night, jays pick Baltimore, I'll take Baltimore. I think Baltimore knows that I went at home Again, they've lost these big games before, though. Oh no, I'm really rethinking it already. I really want to pick Detroit, but do I want to get sold by what they did last week to Chicago and how bad that team is? That's a mistake if I start believing that that's how Detroit's going to look every week. And again, I think these teams are very mirror images of each other.
Speaker 1:I think Detroit, when everything's I've called Baltimore a bully right. When everything's going well offensively, they can just kind of roll and they just look like the most unstoppable football team that you've ever seen. That's exactly what Detroit's game plan has been. Their defense is a little bit better this year, like personnel-wise comparisons, what it's been, but it's not nearly the same. When they lost their defense coordinator to go, he was the ended up being the head coach for the jets, so they don't necessarily look the same. They have some better pieces defensively but it's not like their defense is necessarily locked down.
Speaker 1:I think this team is like, really like predicated on their offense and I think that, just like the ravens, when it, when it's working and when it's rolling, they look like one of the best teams in the NFL, like one of the best you've ever seen. But it's just when that team, when the other team they're facing, just keep getting back up. I think it might make you wilt a little bit under the pressure and I think not necessarily wilt, but it's just like. It's like, oh, this can be like a back-and-forth affair and I think Baltimore at home has a little. I would just probably give them the slight edge in this game.
Speaker 1:And again, I just don't want to lock myself in to how Detroit looked last week and just say, oh, they'll be able to do that to Baltimore. I just don't think that'll be the case and I think that Baltimore, even though I don't believe in their weapons either. Oh no, I really have some internal struggle about this game. I'm not going to lie to you here. But oh man, all right, take this five seconds and think about this. Five, four, three, two it's been more than five seconds, but one. All right, I'm going to stick with Baltimore. I just don't want to fall for the mirage of Detroit playing a bad Chicago Bears team and just think that's how it's going to work. So I'll take Baltimore to win the game.
Speaker 1:And no, fuck it. I'm going to take Detroit. Screw it Detroit, the battle of two bullies. I'm going to take the team with the little bit better offensive line. I think that Detroit will do it. Why not Take a chance? Why not? I think this game is going will be very close. It's going to be a high scoring affair.
Speaker 1:I can't wait to watch this game on Monday night. I think it'll be a classic and it'll be a fun game. So I'll be fun and take Detroit, even though I think if I probably could pick Baltimore and just keep it close with Jace, especially since he gave me that split with New York Giants and Kansas City, which I think is a crazy split, because who wants to believe the New York Giants to win a football game, especially against a decent football team. Kansas City may be 0-2, but they're a good, decent football team. But I'll be fun. I'll take Detroit. I think this game could be very close. I don't know who's even the favorite coming into this matchup. Baltimore is a four and a half point favorite. So you know the money's on Baltimore right now. So maybe who knows? But I'll go ahead, I'll be fun. I'll take Detroit. But again, this game can go either way. I wouldn't be surprised I just think I'd be surprised if either team gets blown out. I think this will be a back and forth affair. I think this might be, and I just think the both these teams run the football well, I don't know. Oh man, I'm stuck, I'm gonna stick with Detroit. I'm not gonna think about this anymore. Um, that's and that's it on the football game. So that's all the picks. And Jace picked Baltimore, by the way. I think I mentioned that already, but I'll go ahead and say it again and that's it. So that's about it.
Speaker 1:Do I have anything else I really wanted to talk about? No, there's not really any other stories that I wanted to really jump into. No, I already talked about all the college football stuff. I wanted to talk about MLB. We're getting close to being in the playoffs. So I think once that happens, me and Jason will be a tad bit more locked in to what things are happening. With the yankees, of course um, I think they're the they'll have the first wild card spot. Right now I think they're the first in that spot, so hopefully they'll have a decent matchup in round one. So we'll talk a little bit more about baseball as they the playoffs happen, because, again, these are the last few weeks of the season for the MLB but, like outside of that, it's just football, man, that's what we're doing and that's what we're talking about here.
Speaker 1:Again, sorry if, sorry if Jace wasn't here today, but again, conflicts, time conflicts and all that couldn't make it happen. But I just want to make sure you still get a podcast out for anybody that does want to listen to us talk about this stuff, to go ahead and get everything out there. So, uh, hopefully jay's be back next week we'll be able to have a regularly scheduled programming for reacting to the reaction of the games for for this upcoming weekend and, uh, we'll do things to schedule next week. But I just want to make sure you get a pot out, talk about everything I wanted to talk about and, uh, do the previews for these games. So that's about it, y'all. So I'll go ahead and end the podcast.
