I walk through why the 76ers decision feels like a true “win now” move at 41, what the Miami Heat livestream rumor actually tells us about modern sports speculation, and why Philly might be the perfect place for LeBron’s late career version to thrive. The big basketball question isn’t effort or talent, it’s role clarity: Maxey wants the ball, Jalen Brown wants the ball, Embiid changes everything, and there is only one basketball.

Welcome Back And Road Trip Recap

Welcome back to the JB Sports Podcast. Today is Saturday, July 25th, and we are back with another pod. This is another solo one for me today. Jace is dealing with some life stuff at the moment. Honestly, I didn't even ask him. I just didn't even want to put him in that position to have to change his life around to make this happen. So I figured, you know what? Let me just go ahead and get this one out. Just not only because I really wanted a pod because I know it's been like two weeks, two, maybe closer to three weeks since I've last dropped one. Sorry about that, guys. I think I did one before we went on our trip, and that was the week of the 19th. No, yeah, no, the week of the 12th 14th. 15th. Yeah, the week of the 15th or something like that. I know I did one the Tuesday before that because I wanted to make sure I got a pot out. And then we went on our trip, came back the early last week, and then I was a dead body for the rest of the week because we had a kind of forced ourselves. Again, it's to people who didn't know, we did a trip, a road trip all the way to Houston from Columbus, Ohio. For those who don't know, 18-hour trip, and that's before stops and everything like that. Way down there, it was fine. We had the energy and we're all good. And then kind of forcing our way, and this is with no like hotel stop overnight or anything. So we have to, and it was three drivers, me, Jace, um, and uh, and another person. And uh, we kind of made our drive down there was fine. We did what we had to do, we got down there just fine. On the way back, it was we didn't have a lot of energy, not to mention the fact the trip was so short. We did it was like a five-day, it was like no, sorry, like a three, four-day trip. So the turnaround on getting like getting over the getting down there part, and then coming back, it was almost like it hit us on the way back of how crazy of a trip it was, and then it was just so much more damaging to our I I can't I can't I can't believe I was I was saying this while we were doing it, but I'm like, this is like damaging to our long-term health what we were doing to ourselves, kind of driving overnight, kind of sleep like driving through exhaustion. It was kind of bad. But it was still a fun trip. We had a fun time, went to uh DreamCon. For those who don't know about Dreamcon, it's a uh from RDC YouTube, uh YouTube uh group that does this pop culture and anime and all that. Did all that, we had fun. It was a it was a nice trip, and I honestly going out and seeing the rest of the like going to a place you've never been to before is a very fun, if not a little like um not scary experience. But it definitely shakes you a little bit when you're going to a place that you literally have never been to before, let alone driven through other places. I think we drove through Tennessee, which we've been to before multiple times, but then we went through like Arkansas and then Texas, and like it was just going doing something you've never done before is definitely one of those things that it's like, oh, it definitely shakes you out of the monotonous part of life of working and going back home, playing your video games and doing all that. And even though it is a fulfilling experience, I think it was a fairly fulfilling experience for everybody that went. I do also think that there was definitely challenges there, and the drive there and back was definitely a huge part of that. And coming back from that trip, we forced ourselves through exhaustion to keep driving overnight. And again, it was a 24-hour trip. I didn't sleep at all during that 24 hours whatsoever, and it definitely kind of took all the energy out of me the week we came back, and then last week, like we were I was just kind of getting back to normal life, and to be honest, I was finding a little bit of trouble finding something to talk about. And then this week I did kind of like say I have to pod at some point this week, and I just kept pushing off, pushing off again. My apologies.

Why The Pod Is Solo Today

And then I finally got to the news of yesterday that forced my hand because there was no way I was not gonna have a podcast about this one singular thing happening that I think kind of broke the internet. I think everybody was waiting for this moment to happen. Um, I'll talk about what it is in a second, but everybody was waiting for it because honestly, this person, this athlete, this is like an all-time great of any sport, let alone the sport uh that he plays. And as soon as this person, slash basketball player, slash LeBron James, let's be honest, we all know who that is, made his decision, it kind of broke everything, not only because he made his decision to go somewhere else, that we just nobody actually had a true idea as to what he was doing, but it was just he delayed the decision, everybody thought they knew where he was going, and then once he finally made the decision, it kind of was like a shock to everybody. And it kind of took over the internet, and it's still taking over the internet now for what people are talking about because nobody ever really saw what his decision was coming. So once I saw the decision happen, I'm like, I got I have to. There is no if, ands, or buts about it. So that's why I'm here today, guys. And I'm gonna use this opportunity because I want to talk about that news. I want to do a couple other things while we're going today. There was some college football, like a college football coach ranking that I wanted to talk about on ESPN. Again, I always do this when it comes to rankings and all this on these different sites, and I always come come away pissed off by them. I really do. And I know I'm setting myself up for failure by even looking at these things, because I think in general, I think us as consumers have to understand that the economy of these sites of making these, making this, is to get people to click on them, to look at them and react to them via social media and all that. And I think I think I get caught up in that too because I'm like, when you write something like that and you put your name on it, you want to be right, right? Like that's like when it comes to like what the general consensus is on people that write stories and um that are journalists and all that, you would like for these people to want to be right. And then when I see some of these people put out some of their opinions or what they're fat what what they believe, what they say they believe in, it when I see these people say things that lack all sort of actual judgment or forethought or long deep thinking, it makes you think like, oh, these people a lot of times are no better than the Twitter trolls that are on there trying to get people to click on their things by saying the most outrageous or or denigrating thing possible. That is the lifeblood of social media, of websites now, is that they want they want to say some of the like at least some of these people, I'm not saying all of them, but I'm saying a lot, at least a lot of people, are willing to say the more outrageous thing, even if it's not based on actual fact, or they're not scared of being wrong on the back end, so there's no reason for there's no recourse as to oh, I was wrong. Then like they they there is no shame in saying something outrageous and being completely wrong about it, because like, oh, it's just it is what it is, and people don't care about these stories long term, so there is no, hey, you say something before a season starts and then the end of the season comes, and you're gonna get a little bit of noise from some people that keep track of things and keep some receipts, but at the at the end of the day, it's not gonna impact your daily life if you if you say something outrageous that really doesn't make any sense and you're completely wrong on it, especially nowadays, because nobody looks at this stuff and says, Hey, nobody attaches when you say things, especially with these people who are supposed to be professionals and they're supposed to know what they're talking about. Nobody values that and looks at that as like a um what is the word I'm looking for? As a window to their character or what they believe that their job is or their their integrity of this stuff. So again, am I going too far? Probably, but I also say that that's more of like a general consensus on what media is nowadays and what social media is now, and especially sports media, and and I just think that when I when it comes to rankings and stuff, that's where I see some of the more like insane things I've ever seen. And when it comes to ranking coaches, when it comes to ranking teams and and players, and like people are like willing to kind of say the more outlandish thing to try to get their word out there to make people talk about it, rather than trying to actually be right about what they're talking about, because the the lifeblood of this stuff is to get clicks, reactions, and all of that. And I'll get to that, I'll get to that later, but I do want to talk about that. And then the last thing I want to do, I want to do because I've been seeing this everywhere because the NFL C the NFL training camps are actually starting here in the next four or five days or so for pretty much every team in the NFL. So, and I'm starting to see a lot of these rankings of these teams going into the NFL season, and I want to do my own. And I know we're like, I'm gonna get Jace back on. I'm going to, I swear. And we're gonna do our quarter, our position rankings, our top 32 quarterbacks, and all that stuff we've done in years past. And I also want to do like our division winners and who we think make our final like um um judgments on who we think is gonna win the Super Bowl and like all that stuff. I want to do all that with Jace. But today, as an exercise, I want to rank every single NFL team from one to 32 just on my own. And maybe once I get Jace back, maybe he can react to react to mine and kind of see what he thinks about what my list is, or he can come with his own on the next pod he's on, and we can have him do his. But for today, I want the big NFL thing I want to talk about here. So I want to make I want to rank every single team from one to 32 based off based off of right now. Again, things can change, players can get hurt during training camp, like all this stuff can happen. But I'm just saying as of July 25th, with some teams in camp, like a lot of teams will be in camp here in like the next three days, I believe. I want to go ahead and make a ranking from one to thirty two based off of what I s what what information I have right now, and see where that gets me by the end of the season. So that is what I that that's the plan for today. And that's that that's the whole plan. I know this is a long-winded way of getting to everything I want to talk about today, but uh I know it just kind of this is kind of how it works today with when it's just me here. There is no Jace staring at me to be like, let's get this thing on the road. He's the one, he's kind of like my um, he pulls me back to he gra he grounds me a little bit when it comes to like my rants and stuff. Because when it comes to the sports stuff, I can go forever. I really can. So he when I see him looking at me and him start to like, you know, daze or get bored, or he ends up just honestly just giving me the side eye like, hey dude, let's just go. Or he just yells at me while we're on pod. He's like, let's just let's fucking go. What do we talk? Like, come on, we're I'm done talking about this. This is stupid. But without him, I could just kind of keep going on doing whatever I

LeBron Chooses The 76ers

So, let's go ahead and get to the first topic I wanted to talk about here, and that is LeBron James finally making his decision as to where he is going to be playing basketball the next year or two, which is what he claims is that this is his last decision as to what team he's gonna play for. And yesterday he finally made that decision public, and he decided to go play for the Philadelphia 76ers. Um little bit of background before I get to this. In the middle of the week, this was this, this past week? Yeah, it was like around like Tuesday or something like that. There was a live stream that was posted that was like, you know, on YouTube where people can like channels can like post when they're gonna have a live stream. The Miami Heat YouTube channel scheduled a live stream for July 28th of LeBron uh the LeBron James Um press conference on their YouTube channel, kind of making it make peep making people infer that if they're gonna make a um make a decision, make a live stream like that, that they are going to like LeBron's gonna pick Miami, right? So people saw that this this thing was scheduled

and then it was taken down at like a few minutes later. But again, by that point, it's already been seen by a bunch of people. It's kind of been spread it out, spread out in a belt, and it was all over sports media for about a day or two as to whether this means that Miami already knows that LeBron's gonna make his decision to go to Miami, or if this was just a big mistake by one of the interns working in the Miami front office, right? And some people were like, hey, what because again, if you don't know how YouTube works or how this stuff works, it's some people are like, why would you even schedule that if LeBron wasn't actually coming or if you didn't know, or if you have people that actually know, it's like, hey, this stuff is usually pre-planned, and if that stuff's gonna happen, then there's always somebody ready to go kind of making this stuff up, so it's not one of those things you're trying to do, do it on the fly. Okay. And I kind of leaned on the lean on the side of if there was an intern that knew and that kind of like made this mistake, then Shams or some of the bigger NFL, not NFL, sorry, MBA kind of like insiders would already know about it. So that's why I really didn't believe that that was the case. I didn't believe that like LeBron had chose Miami and like there was like this inside knowledge that nobody else knew about, and this weird intern or social media person kind of made this big mistake. So I didn't think that was the case. I thought it was just one of those where, like, hey, you have if you're gonna get that decision again, because Miami was in the final three. I think it was Golden State, it was Miami. I think Cleveland was also a part of it a little bit, but it didn't seem like it was that close. And then the 76ers, obviously, even though nobody really thought the 76ers were like a final, like a final option for LeBron based off of that what that team is and how many how many mouths that team already had to feed. But so that news came out on Tuesday, Wednesday, and then it was kind of like take over the internet for a day. But I was like, I didn't really believe it. I thought it was just a mistake, and that they were just trying to you, you know, have you all your decks in a row just in case LeBron does choose to go there. And then the news comes out yesterday, and LeBron kind of breaks the internet, and it's still still kind of broken because everybody's still talking about how insane of a decision it was, or how it's gonna work, or LeBron now going to his fourth team, because again, LeBron haters are always gonna have something to say. Oh, LeBron's going to his fourth team trying to go um ride his coattails, trying to get another championship and all of that, ride somebody else's coattails. Because again, LeBron is still at 41, 42 years old during this season. Like he can be a piece SOY team winning championship, but he's not gonna be the person that's going to put the team on his back, right? So the LeBron haters out there, it's gonna be like, oh, he's trying to get another championship, even though he wouldn't be the guy in the driver's seat, la da la da. Okay. I let me make myself clear, and I've been I've made this point before on the pod, but again, if you have listed prior podcasts, this was my thought on this whole LeBron thing. I think ever since LeBron got to the Lakers, this I did not have any crazy expectations for him to win multiple championships or to still be the best player in the world or any of that. And I think LeBron, and for me, when I have him ranked, he is my number two best player to ever play NBA basketball. Okay. Again, not a slight, but some people look at it as a slight. And again, this is for me. I never watched Jordan play even a dribble of basketball. So I'm still, it's not like I'm sitting here talking as like a 40-something year old that watched all of Jordan and all of that. No, that's not me. So I still consider LeBron the second best player of all time. So now, ever since he won his championship with the Lakers, and ever since then, I have not had this crazy expectation of LeBron needing to win a championship wherever he goes or all that. I have been on the side of whatever LeBron wants to do, I think he deserves to make whatever decision he wants to make, to play wherever he wants to, however long he wants to. That that's where I sit on it. Because LeBron's done so much for the NBA, and he's been an ambassador for the NBA for as long as I can remember. And if he wants to sit here and if he this last shit decision he claims that it is going to be, if you wanted to go back home to Cleveland and have the storybook ending, that's cool. Great, awesome. If he wanted to go play with Golden State and go be with Steph and Draymond and go play some fun basketball, I honestly I thought that that was the most fun option that I thought that I would just and cool option to kind of see him go do. Or if he wanted to try to go ring chase again and go play with a much better overall team in playing with Jokic or going to play, um, I think Minnesota was an option, but I just didn't see it. I just think he would get too annoyed by playing with both Anthony Edwards and um Lamello Ball. I think it's less about Anthony Edwards, more about LaMelo Ball. He just does a lot of stupid stuff that it's just like it's gonna annoy you on a daily basis, let alone actually in the basketball game. Um, but in the 76ers was also an option, and I think he chose in the 76ers the best team for to add himself to that they have a real chance to win a championship. He did. And the way I see it, I don't hate it. If he goes and wins a championship, I think that'd be awesome. And do I think that's gonna like cement him as the greatest player of all time? I just I'm that's not where I'm at right now. Because he'd be the third, fourth option on this team, and he's kind of like he's not needing to be the main guy as to why they win a championship. Honestly, if this team actually goes and does what he expects for them to do over these next two years and win and win win a championship, he can't be their best player. He needs to be their third or fourth best player on this team if they're actually gonna go do what they what they want to do and go win a championship with LeBron there.

How LeBron Fits Philly Basketball

And honestly, so here's my so basketball. Let's get to basketball here, right? He is on the best team that he could possibly be on at his age, where he's at in his career, to go actually be able to not only accentuate the players around him, but also be able to kind of like pace himself throughout the regular season. Because again, that's kind of been his plan for years, is that he'll have ramp up moments, he'll have cool down moments where he'll kind of go kind of shift into neutral and kind of just try to maintain himself. Because again, at his age, he can't go at 100% at all times, it's just not possible, right? Fat Father Time is kind of undefeated when it comes to that. So LeBron knowing his body more than anybody else and knowing how he needs to kind of like maintain himself throughout a season. I think with this team, we'll be able to do that without any issue at all. Because if he decides to throttle up and kind of do his thing and kind of have max effort, he can kind of take the ball and he can kind of take control and like be able to like run the offense and do those things, and he'll have a bunch of talented players to help him out and be able to do that that way, right? This team also has a lot of great defenders. Jalen Brown, a great on-ball defender. Um, they don't Tyrese Max, he isn't like Joel Embiid when he is healthy, is a pretty big defensive presence. Again, not necessarily going to like lock anybody down or like lock down the paint, but still a very good rebounder and is going to be a big body in the paint. But even though he's not a great one-on-one um defender at um at his at this point in his career. Um, you have why am I forgetting the other guys on the team? Uh-huh. Um VJ Edgecomb, who's is a very good player both offensively and defensively. I kind of feel bad for him because he's the one that's going to take the biggest step back offensively. Because I think last year, when he was given opportunities to do, he was balling. So that's the part that kind of sucks. Is I think he's going to become like a fifth, sixth option on this team. But I think he's still a very good defender. They're going to rely on him a lot when it comes to adding his uh defense. And LeBron, even though he's not a great defender at this point in his career, he can turn it up. And I think with his basketball IQ, he can kind of make good defensive decisions. I think he can kind of be the brain to make a kind of whole team defense kind of work together, right? So defensively, LeBron's not going to have to be the main guy, kind of like he's going to be able to kind of throttle down a little bit. And I just think that like this team has, and not to mention, if Joel Embiid is healthy, he is an unstoppable player that's going to be a lot, that's going to be very hard for any team to stop. Okay. Again, relying, this is the that's the biggest question mark for this team, is relying on Joel Embiid to be healthy at the right time. And I think they just need to be healthy by the time it's time to play in the playoffs. Like that's like the biggest challenge. Because Joel Joel Embiid, he can be healthy and be great and then play a few games and then get hurt again. So for me, that's like the biggest question mark for this basketball team. And is are they gonna have Joel Embiid healthy when it's time to when it's nut cutting time, when it's time to go win a championship, when it's time for For the playoffs, will Joel Embiid be ready to go? But I do think with the team that they kind of have assembled now, they can tell Joel Embiid, hey, take your time. We're gonna be able to get to the playoffs even without you playing a bunch of games. We just need you to kind of like play a few games here or there, be able to get in like get time with your teammates playing together so you can guys get used to playing with each other. But we don't need you to go out there and play a ton of minutes or play a bunch of games. We just need you to kind of keep yourself going and keep make yours make sure you're healthy by the end of the season when we need you in the playoffs. And that's the same for all these players. JB, Jalen Brown is a still in his prime player that is supremely healthy, never really had a big injury. So he's gonna be playing a lot. I think he's gonna be one of the constants on this team. LeBron, even at his age, is still a pretty constant, even though he kind of throttles, like kind of like um tries to do, tries to um, what's the word I'm looking for? Tries to save himself when it comes to how he plays and all that. I think the effort and all that. Again, at his age, he does what he needs to do, and I I more than support whatever he decides to do to keep himself self-healthy throughout the season. And then you have Tyrese Maxie still young in his prime player. He's gonna be playing more often than not, kind of going out there doing his thing. And VJ Edgecomb, another very young player, young, not really have to worry about injuries at all, at least for at least not like Nicks and Knacks or whatever, right? So their job throughout this season is gonna be to try to be healthy, as like try to get together, play as much as you possibly can while still trying to maintain health, and then once the playoffs start, kind of see where it goes. Because here's where I think this makes the most sense, okay?

The Embiid Health Question

Um in the East, is there a dominant team in the East that you have to worry about? I don't think so. And I was on having this conversation with my stepfather, because again, I've talked about him before if you haven't listened to prior podcasts. He's a Knicks fan. And my main point as to why this makes sense for LeBron is if he truly wants to win a championship, this is the best team he would have. Honestly, the probably the best um collection of talent he's probably been on on one singular team. Honestly, I I think probably more than anything. Like, I think with with this starting five, this will be the best starting five you've ever been a part of going to a new team, right? I think Joel, again, with health notwithstanding, okay? If if health is not necessarily an issue, this will be the best starting five he's been a part of. I think probably his whole career. Um and I think they're in an Eastern conference where what teams you have to worry about? The Knicks? Like I think even with the Knicks winning the championship last this past season and doing what they did and being relatively dominant throughout the East and then beating San Antonio, I'm not going into next season thinking that the Knicks are by far the best team in the Eastern Conference. I'm just not. And with that being the case, I don't think there is a like there is no San Antonio or Oklahoma City in the Eastern Conference, if that makes sense. I think the East is relatively wide open, and I think by LeBron going to the 76ers, I think that for me, I think is probably the favorite to win the whole Eastern Conference. The Boston Celtics are down because now they're without Jalen Brown. They have Jason Tatum, and I think they're gonna be building kind of I think the Celtics might be the same as they were last year. Like they'll be they'll win a bunch of games, they'll do what they have to do, but do I believe that they'll be able to go and win a championship next year? No. The Knicks will be there because they're fairly the same team going from last year to next season. So the Knicks will be a part of it, but I'm not gonna sit here and say that the Knicks are by far better than what the what Philadelphia brings, if again, health notwithstanding. And what other teams do you have to worry about in the Eastern Conference? Like Charlotte, like they're taking a step back because they got Bert of the Millello that they were a young team that kind of did some cool things, but um, I don't know why I've mentioned them first because there's Miami with Giannis there, but I'm like, Young, they that's not a team right now. That's Giannis, Bam, and then a bunch of guys, okay. Not a team I'm necessarily worried about to go win a championship. Who else? Um, hold on, let me make sure I'm not crazy here. I guess Toronto with Kawhi, but even if that trade happens based off the fact that after they announce a trade and everything, that whole thing kind of went kapoof and they kind of like held up on that because of the the Kawhi investigation with aspiration on all that. I don't think I've talked about that. I probably want to I'll I'll add that talk about that here in a bit. But that is hasn't necessarily gone through, so you can't rely on Toronto to be a real contender in the East right now, even with if that trade with Kawhi doesn't go through. You who you got like the Cavs with James Harden? I feel like everybody should be in agreement that if Kawhi, I mean, if James Harden is a part of a team, they're not a championship contender. I think we should be able to come to that conclusion and be able to have that agreance amongst all of NBA fandom. If if he's a part of your team, you're not gonna have a chance to win a championship. And again, I'm not blaming him as the only reason why they kind of went kapoof in the worst way last season in the playoffs, but he's a big reason. So I'm just gonna have the general rule that if James Harden is a part of your team, you're not gonna win a championship. So the Cavs are out. The Pistons have taken a step back, like they're no better than they were last year, even though I think they were really good throughout the regular season, they're obviously not gonna be able to win a championship based off what they are right now. It's just Cade Cunningham and then everybody else. They really have no other offensive options outside of him. Milwaukee without Giannis, no. The Hawks are too young. I don't think they're necessarily ready. The Heat, like I already mentioned, Orlando will be a great regular season team, but are they gonna be able to go win a championship? No, I just don't think they're really built that way. And then the Wizards. I'm not like, come on, the Wizards, let's be honest. That's a no as well. So, like LeBron with the 76ers, it's them, it's the Knicks. And I think maybe the outside you can do the Celtics just based off the fact that they they're the Celtics and they're always apart, they're always like in there, but like, does anybody actually think the Celtics are gonna win a championship that next year? I just don't think so, based off what they are now without Jay without Jalen Brown and all of that. I just don't think that's gonna be the case. So that's what LeBron is make is kind of like putting his bet on, is that with this 76ers team, he can accentuate the strengths of all these great, young, great players. I'm not gonna say young because Joel and B is not necessarily young, but he's gonna be able to accentuate the good parts of this team, and then he's gonna be able to have backup in order for him to have a real chance to win a championship. Again, if he gets to the East, what are they gonna do against the San Antonios and the Oklahoma Cities on the Western Conference? That's a whole different issue. But again, at least you know on the Eastern Conference side, you are one of the two best teams without any issue, without without question, right? And I just think that I totally understand why LeBron's making the decision. I think he has made the decision that he wants to try to win a championship again, and I think this is the best option. The East Feels Wide Open

issues here. There is only one basketball on the floor at a time, okay? And they do have a lot of mouths to feed. Tyrese Maxie, a ball-dominant guard who wants to have the ball in his hands, he wants to get to the bucket, hit his shots. That's what he wants to do. That's what he is. He's not an off-ball guard whatsoever. I'm not saying that it's not possible for him to kind of learn, but I'm saying that's not what he's been throughout his career so far, especially ever since he's kind of like turned into the star that everybody believes he is. He has been a guy with the ball in his hands. Jalen Brown. He was a guy that wanted the ball in his hands. He finally got that last year without um Jason Tatum being able to play. And he claims that is his best season. He's that is the funnest, the most fun he's ever had in the basketball season. And that includes other seasons where he's won a championship for the Boston Celtics. So Jalen Brown's not one of those that's wanting to take a backseat to anybody. Will he potentially be willing to do that with LeBron? Maybe possibly because he's probably a LeBron fan. He probably grew up as one. But again, as a as an NBA player, he is not a guy that wants to take a backseat to anybody. Um, and then Joel Embiid, his health and all that being an issue, when when will he be healthy? How will he be healthy? Will he be even be able to play enough by the time the end of the season comes to where they've kind of gelled together? That is the even bigger issue because Joel Embiid's health has been a problem for three, four, or five years now. So I think that it that part is an issue when it comes to gelling as a team and getting all these players to kind of have an offense. But I think if anybody's gonna be able to figure out, I think it's gonna be LeBron. Because I think LeBron is with his basketball IQ can kind of fill in the gaps of what this team needs. And I think that as much as all these players want to have the basketball in their hands, I don't think any of them can truly can truly say without question that they are gonna be able to run an offense. They are not true point guards. And I think that LeBron with his IQ and with what he has done in the NBA, I don't think any of them are actually going to be able to question him if he says, hey, let me run this offense, I will be able to get all of you in a spot where you can be able to score the ball easier and be able to get your buckets without working as hard. So I do think that's the that's the big part where LeBron can kind of fill in the gaps for this team. And I think also defensively, I think with his IQ and all that, even though I don't think he can necessarily be the point man on defense, I think he can kind of be a coach on the court and be able to kind of get your defense together and kind of help you out be able to play better team defense overall. Even though Jalen Brown's a great defensive player, VJ Edgecombe is a great defensive player on their own. I think that with the other guys, Maxie and and now um why am I forgetting his name now? I've just said his name so many times, and Joel Embiid, not necessarily great defensive players, but I think if you play great team defense, kind of built with um JB and Vijay Edgecomb kind of being the main two guys, you're building in LeBron. He can play great defense at times, but he can't sustain that over a long period of time, obviously, at his age. So I think that that's where LeBron, I think, is going to be able to fill in a lot of gaps, and I think he's gonna be able to kind of do some good things for this team. So I think it, but again, you have to get everybody to agree to that and all of that, and I think that that'll be again, that's yet to be seen whether that can be figured out. I think that they all respect LeBron. I don't think that's gonna be an issue, but it's just, you know, when push comes to shove, when it's time for everybody to want to get their numbers, that's where things can kind of get a little bit haywire, right? And I think that throughout this season, I think the plan for them should be to. And I think when when it's time to go win basketball games, I think LeBron's gonna be the guy with the ball, with the ball in his hands, kind of setting people up for them to be great. And I think he can do that really good right now, even at his age at 41, going on 42 years old. But I think throughout the regular season, they're gonna have times where LeBron's gonna be the point man, but he there's gonna be times where he wants to take a step back and he's gonna be able to tell Maxie or tell Jalen Brown, hey, this is your time to shine. You can go ahead and be the point man on this offense and have your have your time being that guy. While I get to sit here and throttle down a little bit and not necessarily put as much effort throughout the regular season when, again, let's be honest, the regular season is long in the NBA, and not every game means the most anymore. It's more about the playoffs. So I think there are going to be times where LeBron's gonna be able to take a step back, both offensively and defensively, and kind of let other guys kind of take control and kind of be that point man for a time. Um, JB and Maxie being like the main two. And I think they're gonna be able to get their hit that way. And then when it's time to go win basketball games when it's like the most important, I think they're gonna be able to hopefully, at least with everything working great, everything working how it's supposed to, I think come together, LeBron will be the point, man. And I feel like with everybody being healthy, be able to have this offense working as good as it possibly can be. I think that's the point. I think I I really I don't hate the idea whatsoever. I respect it. I I think LeBron made his decision. I think he kind of had this long tweet, like multiple tweets, um, to say what it what his decision was and all of that. And I think that if he wants to go do it, go for it, man. I don't I don't know. I don't care. Um again, I I was annoyed a little bit as to he was taking so long to make a decision. I don't think I think partially was because he was waiting to have his own moment. He didn't want to do it during the World Cup where there's other news to be out there. I do think LeBron likes to control the narrative that way and make sure that he when he does something, he wants to be the center of attention a lot of times. But I do believe him that there was a hard decision, and I do believe that maybe it took a little longer than he thought it would, and all of that. And I was a little bit annoyed because I'm sitting there like, man, why are we sitting here waiting on a 41, 42-year-old to make his decision as if it's going to, you know, change the landscape of the NBA? Because I'm just like, at his age, how is he like, is he the missing piece to a championship? And I'm like, he chose the place where that might actually be the case. Again, there's still other things that need to happen, but I do think there is a there is an argument to be made that he made the choice to go to the one place that he might actually be the missing piece to a championship. And this is all thanks to the Celtics, man, because I didn't I think if Jalen Brown doesn't end up as a 76er, due to the fact that the Celtics couldn't get enough from any or well, sorry, let's start with the real thing. The Celtics couldn't make the Giannis trade happen with Jalen Brown being the centerpiece of that trade. And then they felt like they can get more for him and couldn't, and then they ended up trading Jalen Brown away for a couple first-round picks and Paul George. This is this is all the Celtics' fault. If the Celtics didn't trade Jalen Brown to the Sixers, I don't think LeBron would be going there whatsoever. I don't think the Sixers would even be an option if Jalen Brown wasn't there. So you can thank the Celtics that LeBron ended up in Philadelphia. I really do think that's the case. And with that being the case, I think LeBron is like really going for a championship. I think this he said he signed a two-year, eight million dollar deal, so he'll be getting paid four million dollars a year, which is crazy. Even LeBron at 42 years old, the value he brings to a franchise is so high that no matter what team he went to at a at a contract like this, it's an absolute steal. And I do think that does give a little more credence to the fact that he wants to try to win a championship one last time before he's done. And I I can respect the decision, man. I can. I really can respect it. And I'm not a guy that's always a LeBron defender. I'm really not. I'm real I'm really not that guy. But I think at his age and what he has done for the NBA, I think he deserved to make whatever decision he wanted to make. If you wanted to make a decision to go win a champ try to win a championship, go for it. If you wanted to just go have fun in Golden State, go for it. If you just wanted to have your storybook ending with Cleveland, go for it. Like, if you wanted to write write-offs in the sunset and not play another another dribble of basketball ever again, like that's also his option too. So I think he deserved to make whatever decision he made, and I think that I think it's gonna be very interesting because he did make the decision to try to make the winning decision and try to go win a championship with Philadelphia. I really did. I think he's gonna make this season incredibly interesting, especially in the East. And I'm I'm very excited about it. I think um I think this will be a very fun season because of it.

If Philly Teams Flop Together

I really do. And and now getting away from the basketball and getting away from the serious part, this is where let's just kind of play devil's avocado here, but kind of play like the long game, right? Because again, I'm not a I'm not a Philadelphia fan whatsoever. I'm not even associated with them whatsoever. But Philadelphia fans are known to be very um harsh and direct and kind of be a little crazy if they are if the team isn't doing well. And let's just go into this fantasy world where LeBron makes a decision to go to Philadelphia, they're super excited, they think they have a chance to go win a championship, and what if this whole thing goes to absolute this thing goes kapoof and this stuff is ass and it doesn't work out and people are injured? Like if this stuff goes absolutely down the garbage garbage can, what if Philadelphia has to watch the 76ers not do what they think they're gonna do while also having to watch the Eagles take a real step back? Because I don't think the Eagles are gonna be a team that's gonna go have a long playoff run and have a chance to win a championship either. Especially after trading AJ Brown, I don't think the Eagles are gonna be a better team this year than what they were last year. So what happens if this Philadelphia fan base has to watch not only their 76ers not do what they think that they think they believe is a real chance to go win a championship with LeBron on their roster, and they also have to watch the Eagles suck all in the same year? That city might burn to the ground. And I think as a fan that has nothing to do with Philadelphia sports, I think it would be the most interesting thing to happen is if both of those teams kind of go bad and then the fans kind of like spiral. That would be the funniest thing of all time to watch, at least from an outsider perspective. Again, nowhere near Philadelphia. So any of anything that happens there will have nothing to do with me. But I'll have a lot of fun watching it with I want to say popcorn in hand, but I don't eat popcorn. I'll say candy. I'll be eating some candy on the sidelines, watching the city burn, and having a lot of fun doing so. Because I just feel like watching fan bases react after having high expectations for teams, especially fan bases as Devout and Devout, Devout, Devout, it's Devout. Devout and smart as Philadelphia fans, man, if you don't if you don't do what you're supposed to there, they will let they will let the they will let everybody know, and they will make they will make their dissatisfaction very well known to anybody that'll listen. So the idea that that could happen, they have the all of a sudden these very high expectations for not only for their their basketball team, but their football team again because the Eagles are always the Eagles. They're always have I don't think Eagles fans ever truly believe that they that they should be bad or anything like that. So having a chance where they have two of their main teams let them down all in the same year, ugh, that would be an absolute treat to watch as an outsider uh fan perspective. Um, and that's about it for the LeBron thing, guys. I feel like uh I I think I've mentioned that I've said this over and over again. LeBron made his decision, I respect it, and I will be here to watch it throughout the season because I think me being a Bulls fan and all that, again, the Bulls aren't gonna be great next year. We have a very young player, Caleb uh Caleb Wilson. Very good. I watched him play in summer league. Again, summer league isn't everything, but from what I've seen from Caleb Wilson, I am very intrigued as to what that player can be for the Bulls in his future. Um, but next year, I don't think the Bulls are gonna be a great team. So I'm I'm gonna watch them play. I'm gonna hope Caleb Wilson can kind of turn into the player I think he can be. But I do think that outside of that, I think I'll be having a lot of fun watching this whole um all of this kind of happen throughout the NBA season next year. And here's what I'll say, and this is my last thing before I'll move on to talking some football here.

OKC And Spurs Still Loom

With LeBron making his decision, where do I kind of have the pecking order as to the best teams going into next season? Or the teams I think have the best chance of winning a championship. I'm still a guy that believes it's Oklahoma City and San Antonio than the rest of the NBA. I really do think that's the case. Even with Oklahoma City trading away three very big, I think they traded away Lou Dort, they traded away uh Isaiah Joe, and they traded away uh Wiggins, right? I think those are the three players. Um, those are three players that guards that they got a lot of playing time. I think they traded two of them away. They traded Dort and Wiggins. Aaron Wiggins, right? I think so. I think they traded those two players to Atlanta, and then Isaiah Joe got traded to who did he get traded to? Oh gosh, now I gotta remember where he got traded. Um Isaiah Joe. The Pistons, he got traded to the Pistons. So they trade away those two players. To kind of save up a lot of uh cap space. I think they went from like having one of the higher cap um cap charges coming to being one of the lower ones. So they trade away those three players to save a bunch of money. And I think that the way that they draft, they got a bunch, they got like seven set seven second round picks by making those trades. So I think that the way that OKC has done their team building, I am not going to question them until they give me a reason to because of they just have built this team so well and they have such flexibility and they've been doing the right. Honestly, if you have a if you are a fan of a team and you want to see another like look at a different team as to what the blueprint should be to building your team, OKC is that team to look at, right? So I think of all the teams, I'm gonna believe in OKC to kind of build rebuild that team the way they need to around their star players, and I think they'll be one of the two best teams in the NBA going into next year. And then next thing, and then then you can start talking about the Sixers, the the Knicks as being those two other teams to be on the top top shelf of the teams that have a chance to win a championship. I think I think I'd probably lean San Antonio though, because I think that the experience that they had last year with Wemby and that team kind of just being too young and not being ready for the moment in this finals against the Knicks, I think that team will grow from that. Um Wemby did do his um contract extension, and I think he took a discount. He took like a uh not a discount, he did the actually he did take a discount because he had a chance to sign the Supermax and didn't. So he did the Jalen Brown sorry, Jalen Brunson thing and not taking all the money he possibly could have. And I think that that's bad for everybody because that team is built to that team is very young in general. They have a very young team, they're gonna keep growing together, they're not gonna really lose a lot of pieces, and now they'll have flexibility long term to be able to keep that young team together and be able to have flexibility kind of move around because they're not paying their best player nearly the amount of money that other teams are paying theirs. And I think that's all because of Wemby making that decision to kind of again, I don't want to sit here and like give too much praise for it because I I like others, I truly believe that it should not be a player's job to take the discount, and like that that's a team's job to make it work around me taking the money I'm getting I'm getting, because at the end of the day, I think it's a little bit different in in the NBA because all their money is pretty much fully guaranteed. But like, why should I take a discount? I'm the player I am. Like, the money that I'm gonna get is because I have a finite amount of time to make this money, and if I get hurt or something like that, you're not gonna be giving me money long term. Like, so take all the money you possibly can because that's money for you and your family and your in your lineage, right? But with NBA contracts being fully guaranteed and all of that, especially at that level, you um Gwemby made his his decision to take a little bit of a discount here to kind of make sure that team can kind of stick together and grow together and like them not have to like start selling off pieces um to kind of keep their team under a certain uh apron or salary cap and all of that. So I think all that being the case, and I think that team's only going to grow together and and do some good things and learn from that experience in the finals where they truly just were not ready to win a championship. And I think San Antonio should be the favorite going into next season. And I think them and OKC are the favorites, man. I think they are, and I I think that um that's where I sit when it comes to the NBA. I just feel like watching those two teams, especially San Antonio, they just weren't ready yet. And my stepdad was like very he was the more we talked about it, the more he kind of got upset with me. Not upset, but he started getting petty about it because he's like, I'm tired. He he kept saying he was tired of people making excuses as to why the Knicks won the championship. But I'm like, that's the same for all championship winners. And and that's only for the teams that aren't necessarily considered to be the best teams of all time. Like nobody's thinking the Knicks are an all-time great team based off what they did last year. I think that general consensus is the Knicks were a very good team that were to get were together and that were all very veteran, and they did what they had to do at a time where the East was down in that the San Antonio Spurs weren't ready to win a championship. And I even made the point that I think if OKC had made it past San Antonio and been healthy for that finals, I think OKC would have beat the Knicks. Definitely a point I don't I he was not happy to hear. But I truly think that if OKC would have made to the made it to the finals and faced the Knicks, and as long as they were healthy, of course, because I think the injuries were definitely an issue against San Antonio, that if they were able to be healthy for that finals, I think the OKC would have beat the Knicks. I really do. So I just think that kind of everything kind of fell into the Knicks' lap and they took advantage of the opportunity that they had. No, I'm not taking trying to take credit away from them, but it is it's just a fact of life. Like, and that makes me what makes me feel like that even more is that nobody's thinking the Knicks is the best team in the NBA going into next season. That and that they that just kind of kind of cements me even more into my belief about that. So, you know, I I think the NBA is gonna be very fascinating next year to see how it goes, but I do think the the top two dogs are the same as what they were last year. San Antonio and OKC. So you know, it'll be very fun to watch the next season go on. So all right, that's enough of me talking about basketball. Oh no, sorry, we'll talk about Kawhi real quick and then I'll get to the uh other things.

Kawhi Trade Freeze And Investigation

So since the last pod, the Kawhi trade. Did the Kawhi trade happen when I podcast the last time? I think so. It did. But since then, there was news that came out that pretty much said that both teams kind of paused the trade and they didn't want to go through with it until the Kawhi and aspiration thing has been completed. Because the NBA pretty much told the Toronto Raptors that if if Kawhi gets suspended or something like that, he's gonna get that suspension. You're gonna have to take the brunt of that, right? And that if there is some real suspension coming for Kawhi or something like that, is that this I think it changes the deal that what they kind of negotiated with um the Clippers in order to get him, right? Because if you're not gonna have Kawhi for half a season or a full season based off of the aspiration investigation, I think you could probably get Kawhi a little bit of a discount and be able to say, hey, if I'm not gonna be able to have this player for the like a good portion of this next season, I think I shouldn't have to pay as much to get him, right? Because it was a very crazy deal to make get Kawhi to go back to Toronto. So I think that's like the main thing as to why that deal isn't happening. I think the NBA with this whole aspiration thing, why is it taking this long? I think that when like if you want if you listen to the Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast and listen to like his, I think it's like 12-part series as to everything going on. Again, I get it, everything's circumstantial and all that, but if you're the NBA, you don't need the, you're not the you're not this isn't the law. You do not need hard evidence of anything. You can go off of circumstantial evidence, and I feel like there's a fuck ton of circumstantial evidence as to there was some real shady shit going on when it comes to the Kawhi Leonard to in aspiration and the Clippers stuff. There's there's so much circumstantial evidence like saying that that stuff was happening, that there's no way you can look at that and say, oh, there's there's any, there's there's no way that this shit wasn't happening with aspiration and kawaii in the Clippers. There's no effing way. And I think the NBA, by taking as long as they are, I think they're hope they were hoping that there was gonna be anything out there that was gonna be able to disprove this whole thing. So they didn't have to give any sort of punishment out, but I feel like that longer that this goes, I feel like the more information that there's gonna be to prove that there was some real shady stuff going on, there was real circumventing of the salary cap, and I feel like that's one of the biggest things you can worst things you can do in sports. And for people that are trying to like poo-poo that and say that's not as big of a deal, and I feel like I think there's one of Pablo's latest episodes where he was talking to Morris Smith, I think, who was the former um NFL Players Association president, is that if you let some teams be able to do stuff like that, it changes the power dynamic in the coach in between the teams and the players. And I'm not gonna sit here and go throughout that whole thing, kind of give my whole explain explanation on that, but if you really want to learn about this whole situation, the Pablo Tory finds out podcast is a very, very, very fun and interesting way to learn about it because he just has it all kind of locked in, man, and he's very on it. So if you want to learn about it, that's the place to go. That's where I've been learning about this whole situation. But that shit's been going on, and there's some real stuff going on. I feel like there should be a price to pay because like that that the whole point, if you you break the CBA by letting the Kawhi stuff go the way it had been going without anybody taking accountability and getting penalized for it. I really do. So if that whole thing happens and this whole trade kind of falls apart, or if the trade changes based off the fact that Kawhi gets suspended, or if they're like the Raptors aren't gonna get the aren't gonna be able to have Kawhi playing for them next season like they need to, the the deal should change. And I feel like the Clippers are just trying to get away from this whole thing. So I do think that it's not like they're gonna be like, oh, if I can't get the trade that we agreed to, we're not gonna trade Kawhi. Because I just think they want to get they want to wipe that slate clean, and I think they really want to rebuild that team from the ground up. So I do think they're still gonna be willing to get rid of Kawhi to trade Kawhi away to Toronto, but it's just what are the new terms gonna be if there is some real repercussions for that whole thing, which is where everybody's just kind of waiting on that story. But again, the NBA needs to figure this shit out and kind of make this stuff happen because the fact that we've been waiting this long, that investigation has gone this long when Pablo Torrey's been finding out everything he's been finding out by himself, and the NBA has hired this crazy expensive law firm to do it for them, and they're still waiting on a decision months, months and months and months ago. It's absolutely a kind of a it's kind of embarrassing. I'm not gonna lie to you, especially when Pablo's kind of doing his thing all by himself. So, you know, it is what it is on that, but uh I'll be I'll be excited to see what comes of that whole situation. Alright. So that's it for basketball. That's all I have for today, I swear. Even though, because I talk I talk about every year about how I don't really like talking basketball, and I feel like every time I get by myself and start talking basketball, I go forever. I don't know, man. I again I'm not I'm never going to truly convince Chase of like getting all the way into it as I am when it comes to basketball and all the storylines and all the other stuff. But man, when man, when I'm going by myself, I really can go forever. I'm sorry. If you guys are annoyed by that, I'm I'm very sorry, but it's just what I'm interested in right now. And wouldn't you rather me talk about things I'm interested in when it comes to sports rather than kind of just manufacturing a bunch of stuff that I may not be? So I don't know. I think it leads to better podcasting when the person talking, especially if they're talking by themselves, is actually interested in the things they're talking about. I feel like it just leads to a much better experience for everybody, including the listener. So hopefully you're not too annoyed by this mostly football podcast talking a bit way more about basketball than what they usually were. So okay.

ESPN Coach Rankings Set Me Off

Next thing I wanted to get to today. Um ESPN released a what is it, a poll? There, a ranking as to based off of their who did this. Let me see here. It's their own voters in their own ecos in the ESPN ecosystem. I'm not sure even who are the people that voted on this. I'm not even does it even say. No. We posed a question. So the two ESPN reporters by asking which coaches they would most want leading their fictional team for the coming season. Not necessarily coaches who have accumulated the best resumes over their careers. Oh, so reading that makes me even more angry as to what's going on here. Each person listed their top ten choices and points were given based on their responses. Okay. All right. So this was a so this was asking ESPN asking their own reporters as to rank their team, their coach, the coaches they would like to be the coach of their team going into next season. And the ranking, the rankings came out, and should I just do the rankings first? Okay, yeah, I'll do that. So the rankings came out, and this is what it is. Kurt Signetti was number one. He had five of ten first place first place votes. Um, a guy that again, Kurt Signetti doing what he did for Indiana. I am not gonna sit here and challenge that, especially if it's based off a one-year sample size. You're not taking the away their whole careers, you're just doing based off of what they were last year going into next year. I totally understand that. Kirby Swart was number two. He had um four first place votes, which is kind of questionable to me, but I'll get to that in a minute. Um, Ryan Day was three. He had one first place vote. Um that's that was this is my very big point of contention, but I'll keep going. Marcus Freeman's number four. Um, Dan Lanning's five. You have Steve Sarkeesian at six, you have Lane Kiffin at seven, Mike Elko at eight. Sorry, I probably should say what teams they coach for, because not everybody that listened to this podcast is a crazy college football guy like I am. Um so Kurt Signati for Indiana, Kirby Smart for Georgia, Brian Day for Ohio State, Marcus Freeman for Notre Dame, Oregon's coach Dan Lanning was number five. Number six is Steve Sarkesian, the coach of Texas. Number seven is Lane Kiffin for LSU. Number eight is Mike Elko for Texas AM. Number nine is Kyle Winningham for Michigan. And number ten is Mario Cristobal and Calen DeBore that are tied for the 10th spot. Alright. Okay. So I think overall with this list, I'm not necessarily crazy upset. But again, me being an Ohio State fan, if you didn't know, I do have an issue with where Ryan Day is on this list. Okay. Kurt Signetti being at one, I totally get it. What he did at Indiana is unprecedented, and based off what they did last year with lesser talent and were able to kind of get that. Again, they did have the Heisman Trophy winner in Fernando Mendoza. But I think outside of that, I think they that was a team that had a very veteran team, but I think they had a team that was not full of five stars. They had a very like that was a team, right? And Kurt Signate was leader of that, and he kind of did the unprecedented thing. So I'm not going to sit here and challenge him being number one on this list, especially if it's based off of just what happened last year going into next year. Okay. Number two being Kirby Smart is questionable to me. Because specifically, but on this list, it was it's not meant to be a to look at their whole careers. It's just meant to meant to be what they were last year going into next year. Let me make sure I read this again. We pose the question to our reporters by asking which coaches they would most want leading their fictional team for the coming season. Not necessarily the coaches who have accumulated the best resumes over their careers. So this is not a career thing. This is a this is a what they what have you done for me lately type of type of ranking, right? Why is Kirby at two? If you're bringing up their whole careers, Kirby's probably number one because Kirby has won multiple national titles. And he is again amongst all coaches in college football, he's done the most throughout anybody that's still working, right? So that's so if it was if he was bringing their whole careers, then Kirby should be number one. But if this is a what have you done for me lately, why is Kirby at two? What has Kirby Smart in the Georgia Bulldogs done ever since they won their title? What is that in 2021? No, 2020 and 2022. Sorry, 2022. What has he done since then? Georgia Bulldogs. What have they done? Sorry, it took me a second because I was looking up what they've done over the last few years. Um let me see here. So they won they they last won their national they won the national title in 2022 against Ohio State, right? That was their second national championship in a row, which is what Kirby is doing. Kirby did that, cool. He won two national titles in a row at Georgia. Awesome, right? Ever since then, what has he done in the playoff? He hasn't won a playoff game. Am I crazy? He didn't win one last year. He lost in the first game of the Coswell playoff, right? Or am I not so? No, he no, he lost. They lost to Ole Miss in that first round playoff game. Um, who else? What you got here? 2024. They lost in the sugar bowl as well. They lost to let's see here. They lost to Notre Dame in that first playoff game that they played. So they haven't won a playoff game since they won their national title. Heck, and did they even make the playoff in 2023? Hold on, let me make sure I'm not crazy. No, because the 2023 was the 14 playoff, right? 2023, yeah, because they didn't even play in the playoff. They were rank six. So they so that was before the 12-team playoff, and they didn't even make the four-team in 2023. So they haven't won a playoff game since they won their national title back in 2022. So why would cur why would Kirby Smart be number two in this scenario? What he is what has he done the last three years to be ranked at number two? And not only, because again, they're always gonna be a great team in the SEC and all that, but like last year, it wasn't like because Georgia won the SEC. Like that, if winning the if the SEC is the best conference by far and you won that, then you should be a team that should be a championship winning, uh have a chance to win a national championship, but that's not what happened last year. They lost in their first playoff game to freaking old Miss. So like if you're if you're just going off of what have you done for me lately, this is a snapshot as to what they have been. Kirby's heart should Kirby should not be number two.

Ryan Day Disrespect And Media Logic

It should be Ryan Day at number two. And this is my this is my main gripe, okay? Ryan Ryan Day being at number three. He had one first place vote. He should be he should have all of Kirby's first place votes. And he should be at two. Because what have you done for me lately? Ryan Day has won a national championship in the last three years. Ryan Day has made the playoff. The womb uh. He made the last he's made the last two, especially in the 12-team playoff. He didn't make it that last year, that that last four-team playoff realm. He didn't, but he was in the national championship the year before that. No, he wasn't. Nope, that was wrong. Oh. Nope, that was wrong. Yeah, that's that's on me. That's on me. But Ryan Day has won a national championship lately. He has done what he's done. And again, this is not about what their whole careers have been. This is what have you done for me lately. Ryan Day went 12-0. Again, he lost in the two losses came to last year, the two teams that were in the national title game. Again, that doesn't make me feel any better because I felt like Ohio State could have won both of those games based off of some things going differently, with Julian Sand playing a little better, our defense playing Tabit better at certain points. But like, again, the two teams Ohio State lost to last, they went 12-0 in the regular season, and then they lost in the Big Ten championship game to Indiana in a very close game, and they lost to Miami in that first round of the playoff last year. Sorry, not in the first round, the second round, because I think they had a bye, didn't they? Yeah, Ohio State had a bye. So with that being the case, like Ryan, like Ohio State, they've done with again. Did Ohio State underachieve last year based off what people were thinking they were going to be? Probably. But I also think that like what happened last year, they lost the two teams that were in the national championship game. So I feel like you need to put those two losses that they had in context, especially when they were the team. That gave Indiana the biggest trouble last year. The tightest game Indiana had all year last year was against Ohio State. So we just got to put this whole thing with Ryan Day in certain context. And this is what pisses me off more than everybody, right? There was a voter that had Ryan Day number eight. There was a real college football reporter that thought seven coaches would be better at starting a fictional team than Ryan Day, who has done what he's done throughout his career so far. And this was his quote. Honestly, it's just really hard to evaluate the performance of a successful Ohio State head coach. As it has been mostly consistently awesome program. It has been the most consistently awesome program in the nation for decades. I may have dropped Ryan Day, I may have dropped Day too far after last season, but I just didn't think he stuck the landing at all in 2025. What is that supposed to mean? What is sticking the landing? You know there's only one team every year that sticks the landing, right? There's only one team that wins a national title. And that was Indiana. But if you're just going off of sticking the landing is absolutely insane. Because it just doesn't make any sense to me as to how that's the how that's a real point. When it was time to help that offense shift in the gear late and ramp up the tempo and writ in the risk profile against elite opponents, they just couldn't do it. I'm not an Ohio State fan, but I was yelling at the TV during the Miami College 12 playoff game because the Buckeys were just refused to pick up the pace in the second half when they were down multiple scores. They weren't up for the task late in the season and it cost them. Eighth is probably too low, but I guess it could be considered a challenge for 2026. He says in his own thing that eight is too low. But guess what? If you didn't like him being so low, you should have moved him up. That's your list. That's what makes me mad. And when it comes to Ohio State and Ryan Day disrespect, it always goes ways too way too far. And that being number eight for Ryan Day is absolutely there is not seven coaches in college ball better than Ryan Day. I don't think there's two coaches or even one. I again, me being a I'm a homer. I know I'm a homer. I know, but here's my thing. Kurt Signetti is awesome. But he did it for one, he had one magical year. There is no again, I'm not gonna, I wouldn't bet it. But there's no guarantee that Kurt Signetti is gonna be gonna be able to put out at that pace of what he did last year. Will he be able to keep that up over a five, six, seven year period? I don't think so. Am I gonna bet against it? No, because I think Kurt Signetti did the impossible last year with Indiana. So I'm not gonna sit here and try to disrespect the man whatsoever. This is not me trying to disrespect Kurt Signetti. But Ryan Day has done what he's done over seven years at Ohio State. Sorry, no, eight years. What is it, 2027? 2026. And when did he start at Ohio State? 2015? 2016? No, that's not it. No, he's already been in Ohio State for this will be his 10th year. He's already been there for 10 years. So like I just don't get like what Ryan Day does done at Ohio State, I feel like so many people want to undervalue it because it's Ohio State, right? But what Ryan Day has done at Ohio State is absolutely insanely good. Ryan Day is 82 and 12 in his career at Ohio State. I think he has the highest winning percentage as a head coach amongst all active head coaches in college football. He has won a national title. He got over the thing with Michigan last year because we beat them in their house last year. I know he had the four loss in a row against Michigan, but he finally got over that hump and beat them last year. And he's won a national title. What else is Ryan Day need to do to get the respect of not being eighth on somebody's ranking that's supposed to know what they're doing? And that was Bill Connolly, I believe, was the reporter that had him at eight. Bill Connolly is supposed to be one of the better college ball guys in in all of the all of the media, of college ball media. And he had him at eight, and he even said in his own ranking that that eight's probably too low, then why in the hell didn't you change it? Which what is which is what gives me even more credence as to the idea that he just wanted to say the outrageous thing, because nobody is going to remember this six months from now. If Ryan Day gets Ohio State back to having a long playoff run or even getting to a national title or even winning the national title, nobody's gonna go back, like not many people are gonna go back after Bill Connolly be like, hey, you gotta answer for your ranking of Ryan Day. Nobody's gonna care. This thing's gonna roll over, but it doesn't change the fact that the Ryan Day disrespect goes way too far. And that always pisses me off. And again, I think I think Ohio State disrespect in general goes way too far. Because when Ohio State does what they're supposed to do, when Ohio State wins, oh, that's what Ohio State's supposed to do. But when they lose, they're the worst team of all time. And they're they're they're not they're not worthy of being what they are. And I just feel like Ohio State is never gets disrespect. Sorry, Ohio State never gets the respect they they definitely they deserve. They just they never do. And I thought I have felt this way ever since heck, the losing to the SEC, losing to LSU and um Florida and back-to-back national championship games. I have felt that way ever since then, and I was a young lad then watching those games, and I felt the Ohio State disrespect, and I and I and ever since then, Ohio State has done so many good things, and they have really elevated themselves to be literally, I think, literally the number one program in college football that doesn't have Nick Saban a part of it. That's what I'm saying. Like Nick Saban, again, like he controlled college football for his time at Alabama. There is no ifs, ands, or buts about it. He had an iron fist, he had a stranglehold over college football while Nick Saban was at Alabama. He did. Like Nick Saban did his thing. But outside of that, Ohio State's been that program ever since then. And nobody wants to give Ohio State the credit when they so deserve it. And I think Ryan Day is the latest case of a guy that has done what he has done. He has done so many good things and he has done awesome things at Ohio State. Nobody wants to give him a credit because it's Ohio State. And I think people go way too far at times when they just say Ohio State can roll out any coach out there and do what they're doing. I just don't think that's the case. I really don't. Guess what? Coach Luke Fickle was a coach at Ohio State. The guy that is now the head coach at Wisconsin and not really doing all that well. The guy that was the head coach at Cincinnati that got them to a nap to a college football playoff game. He led the Cincinnati Bearcats to the college football playoff. And guess what? He was the coach at Ohio State for a year and went seven like five and seven. Oh, hold on. Let me see. I'll make sure I'm not crazy. Um Luke. Fickle here. Uh coaching. Uh Ohio State. I always forget what their record was that year. Six and seven. They were six and six and then lost the bowl game. Because I always forget because by the time they lost the bowl game, I think that was the Florida. Uh Urban had already said he was going to go coach at Ohio State, so it was almost like, ah, I don't care about this. Urban's coming. But Luke Fickle was the head coach at Ohio State for a year and went six and seven. That same coach that took Cincinnati to a to a championship game. Sorry, to a college well playoff, and that is coaching at Wisconsin and not doing all that well right now. But again, like, so like their coaches can make Ohio State look worse. Even with all the talent that they have. And I think Ryan Day is not given enough credit for not only keeping Ohio State where they're at after Urban Meyer left, but elevating to a certain set and now winning his own national title with his own players. The national title he won was not with Urban Meyer's players. He won, those were all his. So no, I don't I just think people want to take want to take respect, want to take credit away from Ryan Day way too often, and it pisses me the fuck off. Eighth, dude. Eighth. That's some bullshit. That is absolute bullshit to me. It really is. That's bullshit. Again, I know and I know I'm there there's not there's there is only one coach that I think has a real has a real standing. Again, if you're talking about their whole careers, then I think you could still put Kirby at number one because Kirby has two straight national championships, and that's hard to get over. So that if you're just talking, if you're talking whole career, then Kirby's number one, then Ryan Day's number two. But if you're just talking about like what have you done for me lately, it's still only Kurt Signetti because of what he did last year, and then it's Ryan Day. And anybody that says anything different is is absolutely asinine. They're fucking asinine if they think anything different. Okay. I think that's all I got. I think the rest of the list I don't necessarily disagree with. Marcus Freeman being number four is a little bit iffy because what has Marcus Freeman done lately? Like it's like again, he didn't make a national title recently against Ohio State. So maybe I need to give him some credit because all the guys behind him hasn't really done shit either. Sark, no, Lane Kiffin, no. Who like, okay, so I'll alright, I can get behind. I can get behind um Freeman being four. I will say Dan Lane being number five, though. What has Dan Lane done in the playoff? I'm just saying the last two years in the 12-team playoff, the first team, the first game that Oregon has played, they've gotten their shit kicked in. Oregon hasn't had a long playoff run. Again, they won the Big Ten two years ago before getting their shit kicked in by Ohio State in the first round of the playoff. Not in the first round, second round of the playoff. Um, and then last year they got their shit kicked in by Indiana. Was it last year in Indiana? Yeah, okay, yeah. They had their shit kicked kicked in by Indiana after beating them the first time in when Indiana went to their house. So, like, I don't know, guys. Like, what has Dan Lanning done? Again, he's done good things in the regular season, but in the postseason, Dan Lanning hasn't done shit. And I think that if he does this, like, this is probably his best team he's had at Oregon so far in his Oregon tender, uh, Oregon tenure. So if Dan Lanning has another kind of shit the bed moment in the playoffs this year, we gotta start asking some real questions as to where Dan Lanning, like I don't necessarily believe he's a top five coach in all of college football, but like again, there's not a lot of great options out there. But still, I think there's like you start asking some real questions about Dan Lanning if they shit the bet again this year in the playoff. Because I think they should have a pretty good regular season. They'll make the playoff, but I think they need to win more, they need to win a game in the playoff to maybe like you know, cement himself as a top five coach in all of college football. Steve Sarkeesian at six. Again, he doesn't done a lot of shit, he hasn't done a lot in his career either. Um, again, he's won a playoff game at least. He's made the playoffs multiple times, but he's won a playoff game. He did lose to Ohio State two years ago. Last I keep hearing him complain about like not making a playoff last year and all this stupid shit. I'm like, it pisses me off because he keeps using Ohio State as the thing, and I'm like, well, you lost to Florida. He keeps wanting to omit the fact he lost to Florida. Again, playing Ohio State wasn't your issue. It was the fact that you played a Florida team that was had a losing record and you guys lost to them. Like, that's where that's where your issue came. If you beat Florida, you make the playoff. This was that Ohio State was not a difference. It was losing to Florida, a team you had no business losing to last year, and he keeps wanting to complain about last year and how they would have won. I think there was a player on there, the Colin Simmons, I believe, said that they would have won the championship last year if they made the playoff. No, you fucking wouldn't have. You kidding me? Are you kidding me? That's absolutely insane that they even have that feeling about last year. It's absolutely insane. Insane, insane to me. But Sark also has questions. If like he doesn't do it this year with Arch being in his second year as their starter and them having a really good team, like who like when is he gonna do it if he can't do it now? Lane Kivan at seven makes sense. He's one of the best he's a good coach, but you know, he's at LSU now, so hopefully he can make take the next step and kind of win some playoff games. But okay, I get him being at seven, Mike Elko being at eight, I get that. Kyle Whittingham at nine again, what for what he's done at Utah for so long. Um, I'm not gonna question him in his ranking here, but I do question what he's gonna be able to do at Michigan with Bryce Underwood kind of not being what they need him to be right now because they feel like everything coming out of spring practice and all the other stuff is that and heck watching the spring game that they had with with Underwood, ugh not what I would call impressive throwing the football. And if they can get Underwood to take the next step and kind of make a make a jump up from what he was last year to this year, like what are they gonna do? Especially after they committed so much money to that kid, and they have to make sure that he takes the next steps and kind of and uh gets better as a quarterback. And if they can't do that, it's a definite problem. Um, Mario Cristobal being at 10 and Kaelin De Boer also being at 10 tied. Again, would I probably have Mario Crystal a tad bit higher because at least he's made a national championship game recently? I probably would, but I do think Mario Crystal is a block head coach. A block sorry, a block head as a head coach, and I think he's a little bit of a meat head. Is he really the greatest in-game coach? Definitely not. I feel like he's a really good at the trenches and getting everybody to play tough, but uh, do I think he's actually a good schematic coach? No, not at all. And I think more often than not, I think the team last year overcame his lack of coaching prowess rather than him kind of like elevating them. And I do question what they will be this upcoming year when they do have to replace a lot of players on both the offensive and defensive line. But again, that's where he kind of that's his lifeblood. That's what he does is recruit great trench players. So I'm not gonna necessarily like totally discount that, but I do think that they're gonna have to like prove it to me a little bit before I'm like, oh, Miami's back to being uh uh a uh real contender every year. And then Calen De Boer at 10. I would understand this ranking if he was coaching at any other program outside of Alabama. This is my this may be a hot take to me, for me, but I just think that Calen De Boer, with the coach that he has been throughout his his career, I don't think Alabama was a good fit for what he is as a head coach. I think Calen De Boer is a guy that takes three stars, low four stars, and has been a guy to coach them up and to make them better football players and what they are normally, and has done a really good job in the portal, and that's what he has been, that's what he was doing at Washington, and that's what allowed them to go and get to a national championship team championship game with the Washington Huskies, right? I think that was what his formula was. And when you go to a place like Alabama, where there's a where there's a program, um, they believe in recruiting high recruiting rankings and getting insanely good blue chip talent every year, recruiting-wise, and that's not what they're doing. They believe in winning every possible game because again, you're you're following up Nick Saban, which was a very high bar that really nobody was going to be able to hit, and he has to deal with that as well. And I just feel like it's not necessarily a good fit with him in Alabama. I really just don't think so. And I think that if he was not at Alabama and he was anywhere else practically, I feel like he'd be a lot better off a lot better off for his own coaching career. And I think that I really think that if it doesn't work, if he doesn't do good things this year, I think there's a real chance he might get fired. And I think doing good things, I mean be very competitive in the SEC, make the playoff, even win a playoff game. Because they've been pretty bad over the last two years. Especially they made the playoff last year and got their shit kicked in by they did be Oklahoma again, so but again, Oklahoma wasn't a great team in the first place, but then they face Indiana and got their shit kicked in, right? So I think you really need to like take a step up and win a couple playoff games and like be competitive in the SEC and all that because I just think I just don't think it's a great fit. And I feel like he's not really recruiting all that great being in Alabama like they probably are used to. And I feel like there's it's a little bit of a cultural misalignment based off of what he is as a head coach and what Alabama really like expects. Like Alabama, they want like a Dan Lanning head coach, they want a guy that recruits and has crazy energy and all of that, and I just don't think that's what Caleb De Boer is. Caleb De Boer is not a big guy that really cares about recruiting, like he's more of a guy that wants to develop and like get his own guys in there and like really build that way. And I just feel like it's a little bit of a cultural like misalignment based off of what Calin De Boer is as a head coach and what Alabama really wants their football program to be. But again, I understand him being at 10, but I think if he was somewhere else, I think he'd be a lot higher because I just think that he'd be able to have his own imprint on the program a lot more than what he was ever gonna be able to do at Alabama because Alabama is an institution in college football. That it's I think it's very hard for a coach to unless his his um his ideas of what he at once is a football program is like is like aligns perfectly, I don't think he's gonna be able to change what the Alabama football program is because it's just what they've built themselves up to be with after being with Nick Saban for so long. So I don't know, it's a weird one. Alright, I think that's all I got about the coaching ranking stuff. Again, my my big thing was about Ryan Day, and I think I got all that out. But um, I know I'm probably a little bit of a homer, but that's just how I feel about the situation, man. I feel even though I know I'm a homer, I do feel like I can think through things relatively clearly when it comes to talking sports, right? I really do think so. If somebody thinks differently, I'm more than happy to listen, but I feel like I can think clearly and like logically about a lot of this stuff, even if it includes a team that I I know and love very much, especially Ohio State. Ohio State is my heart when it comes to sports fandom, it really is. But I do think I can be pretty honest about where I'm at and feel and be pretty impartial about it. But you know, again, I know I gotta leave a little bit of room open to think that maybe I'm not right on this, but that's just how I feel about the situation. Ranking All 32 NFL Teams

Um, let's go ahead and get to the NFL team rankings that I want to do here. So, like I said before, I want to rank every single NFL team from one to 32. And I think I I I'm listening to um Mina Kimes' podcast, like Power Hour, where she kind of has everything listed up and she kind of like for every spot, she gives the person that she's with like two options for one spot and makes them choose. I'm not gonna do it that way because that's just straight up ripoff, but I do want to do my rankings from one to thirty-two and just kind of give my feel based off of that. And I just think it'll be pretty fun. And I'm gonna talk about my choices going from one to thirty-two and uh just kind of go from there. So let's go ahead and get to it. I should start at one because I feel like it's more interesting at the top than it is at the bottom. I really do think so. So let's start at one. So honestly, there's only two teams I think of when it comes to being the top two teams in c in in the NFL going into next year. And the two teams I would think of is the LA Rams, obviously being the team that they were last year, now adding Miles Garrett, and there also is news that they like that Aaron Donald might be making way for his return. Like, there is some real steam behind Aaron Donald coming back, and I was a guy that really didn't believe that Aaron Donald was coming back based off the fact that he hasn't played, and this will be like close to three years. I think he he uh retired back in 2022, I believe. 2022 or 2023. So I didn't believe that he was coming back. I thought that he was happy being retired and all of that, but I feel like this there there is some real steam behind him coming back and wanting to. I'm not I'm not gonna sit here and say he'll play a full season. I think he might wait a little bit and try to like come back later on in the year when they'll when they'll need him a lot more. But man, adding adding um Miles Garrett to that team that was already like pretty close to being in the champion beam. In the uh Super Bowl against the Patriots. They were so close. They gave the Seahawks a better game than anything the Patriots were able to do in that Super Bowl game. Heck, I was saying before the Super Bowl even happened that the NFC Championship game was a Super Bowl. And that's how it kind of ended up being. So going into this next season, I really do think it comes down to the Rams and the Seahawks. And I think that because those teams were so close going last year, and the Rams literally just added the probably the best pass rusher in all football. I'm going to go ahead and say the LA Rams will be, I'll have them at number one. And then I will go with the Seahawks being being two. Yeah, I just think the Rams being what they are last being what they were last year, adding Miles Garrett to that defense. That's going to be amazing. And then they added um Trent McDuffie to their secondary. I think they added another corner as well. So they added to what was their biggest weakness last year in their in their um in their secondary. And then they added the best pass rusher in football to their to their defensive line. And I feel like they like they got like their defense was their biggest problem last year, and they addressed all of it in the offseason. So as long as as long as Matthew Stafford is healthy and that offense just keeps doing what they have been doing over the last three, four, or five years now with Matthew Stafford being at the helm. And now that defense is going to be able to take a huge step up with adding the talent they have added to that defense. I'm going to say that LA Rams are one. And I think this the return the returning champs, Seattle Seahawks, will be at two because they really haven't lost anything. They did lose Kenneth Walker, but I think that running back is one of those positions where you can get again. Kenneth Walker had a really good Super Bowl. But outside of that, it wasn't like Kenneth Walker was destroying the NFL last year. So I don't think losing Kenneth Walker is going to be as big of a loss as what people must-some people might think. So and I think Sam Darnold have another year with that team. That offense is going to take another step up. You have probably the best wide receiver. No. I would call JSN the best wide receiver in the NFL based off what he did last year. But again, I can totally understand anybody still believing Justin Jefferson and Jamar Chase are those two guys. Not going to, but again, at worst, three in um in JSN. So having a top three receiver in JSN, doing what he's doing, he's going to be awesome again next year. Um adding another year with Rashid Shaheed getting into getting integrated in that offense. And I think that I think that they're going to be a team to be reckoned with. That defense is not going anywhere. So Seahawks being a number two definitely makes a lot of sense to me. And I feel like there really is a gap between those top two and then the rest of the NFL. I really do think so. I think there's a huge gap based off what they are as a full football team. So let's go from two to three. Where am I thinking here? Um, let's see. Anybody in the east? I mean in the NFC that I want to put at three? No. No. No. Not money, not anybody else in the NFC. Let's go ahead and go to the AFC and see who I want to put there. No, none of them. None of them. I think my two options for the third spot is gonna be Denver and Buffalo. I'm gonna go Buffalo. Yeah, I'm gonna go Buffalo Bills. No, do I want to go Denver? No, I'm gonna go Buffalo because I'm not sure of what is going to come with um why am I forgetting his name now? This isn't good. Oh teams. Uh Bo Nicks. I'm not sure with like the Bo Knicks injury. Is he gonna be able to come back and be healthy going into this season? That's where the big question is for me, because I think Denver probably has a better team from top to bottom than the Buffalo Bills, especially with the Denver defense being what it is. And then Denver also added Jalen Waddle to their wide receiver core, which is gonna be a huge ad for them. But I just think that having Buffalo Josh Allen, he'll be healthy going in next year. I have no questions as to if he's gonna be able to play to start the year and be Josh Allen, because he's been obviously Josh Allen was a he was a a real sorry, what was it which uh he was a candidate for the MVP last year. So like Josh Allen is Josh Allen looked at as like probably the best quarterback in the NFL from you know start to finish, based off the fact that he's still very young, still relatively healthy, still able to do everything he's doing. So I think I'm gonna put the Bills at three just because their defense, I have a little bit of questions about their offensive line a little bit as well. Um they did add a little bit to their wide receiver core by adding why am I forgetting his name? Oh no, oh no, why am I forgetting his name? That's not good. They added um forgetting his name. This isn't good. DJ Moore. They added DJ DJ Moore to that offense to now they have a real number one wide receiver on that team. So I feel like that's gonna be a huge help for that passing offense. They already have one of the better running backs in the NFL in James Cook, Josh Allen being one of the better quarterbacks. I feel like that's gonna be, and their offensive line is still one of the better ones in the NFL. It has a little bit of an issue holding up at times, but I think their offensive line is still very good. So and I think they've added to that defense a little bit just pieces. They haven't really added a huge piece, but I feel like they've added something. So I think as long the Bills, the defense is gonna be an issue, but I feel like the consistency that I'm gonna get with Josh Allen as their quarterback will allow me to put them at three, and then I'll put Denver at four. Because the the issue with Bo Nicks, if he comes back healthy, I feel like they can be as high as three, but I think that not with the quarterback question being there, I'm gonna put I'm gonna put Denver at four because I think they have probably one of the best overall rosters in all of all of football, all of the NFL. Um, for what that defense was being one of the best defenses in the NFL last year. And then that offense, they added Jalen Waddle to that offense, and they run the football fairly well. They have uh what am I forgetting his name now? Um no, this isn't good. Hold on, hold on, hold on. I'm getting his name. Holy crap. Sean Payton as their head coach, one of the better coaches in the NFL. Even though I think he's a little bit a fool of himself at a time at times and he can make some stupid decisions, I still think he's one of the better coaches in all of the NFL. And it's just the only the biggest question for me is what the Bo Nick's injury is gonna be. Is he gonna be able to come back and play healthy? Because I've seen some pictures of his of his knee of his leg lately, and it's not looking all that great. So, is he gonna be able to be healthy coming into next year and play some football, good football that next year? That's gonna be my biggest question. But I think outside of that, them for Broncos is probably one of the best rosters top to bob in all the NFL. Um, next we have ooh, what other team? Let me see here, not the Giants. Eagles, potentially in contention for that five spot. No, they're not. I don't believe in the Eagles like that. Panthers. Man, the the West is a little bit iffy, huh? They have those top two spots and then it kind of goes dry. Let's see in the AFC. Nobody else in the East that I want to put at as of right now. I could have the Patriots. Ooh, could add the Patriots. Let me think. No, I don't want to add the Patriots. I think. Ooh. I might have to be the Patriots here. I can't put the Houston Texans there. Actually, I can. It's my ranking. I can do whatever I want. Jacksonville, no. Titans, no. Alright, up for five. I will go with. Do I just go with the consistency of the Ravens? The defense will take a step up, but who knows whether that's gonna be a big change. This is tough. I'm not gonna lie. Going from one to 32 is definitely not easy. I think I will go with man. The Ravens didn't even make the playoffs last year. That's my issue. That's tough. You know what? I'm gonna I'm gonna throw my hat in the ring. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna go with the Houston Texans at five. Yeah, I'm gonna go with the Houston Texans at five. I'm gonna go for it. Why not? This might be my big my best, not my my biggest, probably projection more than anything, okay? I'm gonna go with the Houston Texans at five because I know for a fact that Houston Texans defense is the best defense in the NFL. By far. Awesome front seven. Their back seven is amazing. They've only added more pieces to that to that defense to make it very good. Um, I'm looking at you. Um, oh no, why am I forgetting my boy's name? Oh no, oh no, I suck. I did this. Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. I got this, I got this, I got this, I got this. Uh Caden McDonald. I'm looking at you, Kaden McDonald. Like, I think he's gonna be an awesome ad to this fronts to that defensive line. I think he's gonna be a he's gonna be a game wrecker. Um that defense is is gonna be the best defensive unit in all football. I know that for a fact, no questions asked, okay. The only questions I'm looking at this team is is that is there can is their offensive line gonna be able to take the necessary steps to become better that they need to, right? At both running the football and for pass um protection for CJ Stroud. That's my biggest question for this team. And is that offensive line, because if that offensive line could take the steps they need to take, they'll not only be better at running the football and kind of giving CJ some help to not have so many third and longs, but if they can protect him a little bit and keep him upright, I feel like he can sit back there and be a lot more confident in what he's doing back there if he just believes he has a little bit better protection. That's where I think the biggest the biggest question is for me. Because I think if all that, if that off the line takes the steps it needs to take, CJ will be a lot more confident. That running game will be better, and I feel like because the running game being better, it'll only allow CJ to do more and more of the play action stuff. He'll be able to attack in the middle of the field, and when those deep balls can come up, I feel like he'll be able to do some good things. So I and I think CJ will do everything he needs to do to get to play better this year and get what happened at the end of last year out of his brain. Because again, everybody looks at him, and I know last year was a struggle overall, but I feel like that offensive line screwed him over way too much, and I understand that that in those last two games against the Steelers and against the Patriots, he was awful. He was not good, and I think he was a totally different person. I feel like he was making decisions that he would never make in his right mind, right? And I'm saying I know I'm a homer with him because I've been watching him so long, he played for Ohio State and all that, but that wasn't like those decisions were not him. So I am not gonna sit here and use that and think that's what quarterback he's gonna be for the upcoming future. That's not what he's gonna be. So I think he's gonna make the necessary steps necessary to make sure he is good on his end, and as long as the Houston Texans help that offensive line out and get better that way and make have a better running game, because I do think they added a very good running back and they added um um, I'm forgetting his name now. He was from the Lions, dude. I suck. David Montgomery. So they added David Montgomery to Woody Mark, because Woody Marks actually had a really good year last year, but he's more of like a pass catching back. So adding a real hammer in David Montgomery is gonna help out their off their running game a lot. It's just on that offensive line to make sure they get better. And I feel like if they do that, I feel like the Houston Texans, I think, can have a real, like a real season this year. So I'm gonna put the Houston Texans at five. At six, I'm gonna go ahead. I'm gonna put Baltimore. I'm gonna put the Ravens at six because even though they didn't make the playoffs last year, I think that Lamar wasn't healthy last year. I feel like their offensive line was like really an issue last year that I think they did address to a certain extent. Um, I also believe that their defense was a huge issue for them, and I think that adding um Jesse Minter to be their next head coach, I feel like he's gonna be able to fix that defense, and I feel like that defense will that defense is not void of talent. They have real talent on that defense, but it's just getting somebody to kind of like put it all together, and I feel like Jesse Minter will be able to do that. What he will be as a head coach is definitely gonna be a big question for me. But again, you don't necessarily have to be the greatest head coach if you can kind of do what you do right, and I feel like when it comes to that defense, I have belief that he'll be able to make that defense, put that defense together and have it playing good football. And I think as long as Lamar is healthy and he can go out there and do what he needs to do, I do feel like Baltimore being at six is definitely a good ranking. He might be a little low, but I'm gonna put Baltimore at six. Um number seven, I'm gonna go ahead and do I go back to the NFC. I feel like the only NFC team I really want to even think about in this spot, maybe San Fran. Or do I want to go with I'm gonna go with Jacksonville? No. No. I might have to go with Jacksonville. No, I'm gonna go Jacksonville. Um, I'm gonna go to the Jaguars at seven. I think the Jaguars with Trevor Lawrence at the helm, with that um Stephen Cohen, I believe is his is the head coach's name. He was one of the he he hadn't made a huge difference for that Jacksonville Jaguars team last year. They played very well offensively. I think Trevor Lawrence made some real strides, even though he he played very well in that in that playoff game against Josh Allen in a loss, but I think he played fairly well. Um and I think Jacksonville made some really good plays defensively as well. So I feel like the Jaguars, I feel like, are in a good spot where they're still relatively young. They have a lot of talent everywhere. And and that is without even Travis Hunter playing really at all last year. So and I think they have really pretty much with the white flag that Travis Hunter is probably gonna be playing a lot more corner than he is gonna be playing a wide receiver. So if Travis Hunter's gonna be able to make that real switch of playing only corner, I think he'll be a pretty good ad to what they have as a football team. And I think they have a really good, I think their offense and defense can be a very can be very both very good units, even if they may not be the best units out there. I feel like it might be the best collection of both offense and defense of pretty much all the teams out there. And then number eight, I'm gonna go with the New England Patriots. I know this might be a little low for a lot of people based off the fact they made the Super Bowl last year and everything. But here's my case for the Patriots, okay? Yes, they added AJ Brown. Yes, that offense is gonna be that offensive line is definitely gonna be an issue. They did draft an offensive lineman in that first round, I think, didn't they? Hold on, let me make sure I'm not crazy here. Yeah, they drafted Caleb Lohman with their first with their first draft uh first round pick. So they did add an offensive lineman to try to help with that, but I'm not necessarily fully like believing that that offensive line is gonna take the necessary steps to be better next year based off what they were last year. And if they truly believe that uh um why am I forgetting his name? Hold on, make sure I'm not nuts here. Uh last draft. Why am I forgetting the guy's name? Um, not nope. Will Campbell. If they think Will Campbell's gonna be the still be their left tackle, I think they're gonna be sorely mistaken. I feel like Will Campbell proved last year that I don't think he's up for the job, to be totally honest with you. So if they go into next year thinking that he's gonna be able to take the next step as a left tackle and like play a lot better, I'm not gonna be a guy that's gonna believe that from the get-go. He can prove us all wrong, but based off how he played last year, I just don't know what he's gonna get better at to like he was a disaster last year, especially at certain points. I I just don't I just didn't like that at all. And not to mention the fact they replaced a lot of players on that defense. I really do think so. And I feel like they kind of like went wiped a slate clean on defense, and they're kind of starting over with a bunch of new guys, and I think that just expecting that to work again next this upcoming season like it managed to last year, I'm not I'm not necessarily very confident in that whatsoever. So I feel like they're replacing a lot on their defense side of the ball, and I'm not necessarily confident in it working right away. And then that offensive lineman is a little bit iffy, and as much as everybody likes to question CJ Stroud and how his final couple games went in the playoffs last year, you can ask the same question about Drake May last year in the playoffs. Again, I get the idea that Drake May had a very good regular season and he was up for the MVP, but when he was playing the best defenses he saw, he looked absolutely lost as well. So again, I'm like people aren't gonna be aren't gonna agree with me on this, but like if you question CJ Stroud, I feel like I feel like Drake May probably deserves a few questions as well, based off of how his Super Bowl went and how his playoffs overall looked. So it is what it is, but I think the Patriots being number eight is where I have them. Um next team I have here. Let's see here. I have to go San Fran, right? Yeah, 49ers. At number nine, I'm gonna have the San Francisco 49ers. I feel like this could be too high. This could be too low. I really do this feel like this cut might be the biggest um weird spot for a team because the Niners at their best with what they have as their head coach in um why am I forgetting his name now? In Shanahan. Like he like no matter what he has on the off side of the football, he just makes it work. And I feel like he elevates that team with their coaching and all that to do a lot better than what they usually are. And my own my and that issue comes up because the Niners are a fairly old team. And they haven't really got a lot younger, and they so they have a lot of players that they rely on that are older players. They like they have George Kittle's coming off an injury, a pretty big injury last year. I think it was a torn ACL. I forget, I forget what it was, but he's coming off a big injury last year. Um, Chris McCaffrey had a very good year last year, but I feel like that is like a ticking time bomb when it comes to waiting for the injuries to catch up with him and him not be able to being as good as he has been. Um, that's gonna be like, is he gonna be able to keep up that same level of play? Is a big question, especially with their usage of him is a big one. They did add Mike Evans to that team, so they are gonna they do add a real what num number one wide receiver to that team to help out. Um why am I forgetting names now? This isn't good. Not now, I've been forgetting names this whole time, honestly. Um hold on. Let me I I got this, I got this guy, so I got this, I swear. Brock Purdy. I think they're gonna be up. So they have a number one wide receiver to help out Brock Purdy in the passing game. Their offensive line was a little bit of a question mark last year, especially with um let me make sure with Trent Williams being not necessarily healthy last year, and he's 38 years old. So he's not necessarily a spring chicken either. So who knows injuries and all that needs a very still a very high paid player, but who knows how that's gonna work out. So off spot is still a question. Their defense, they had a bunch of injuries last year on the defensive side of the ball. So who knows how that's gonna be able to come together and like if they're gonna be able to take that, take a neck a step forward and be better than what they were last year. But the Niners, man, they just always manage to do a lot more than what their talent is is saying they should. And the fact they are getting some real players back, Nick Bosa's gonna be able to play because he got hurt last year, and they have um one of the other players on the defense I'm really thinking about. Oh my gosh, that's kind of an issue. Fred Warner. They'll get him back. Hopefully he'll be healthy and ready to go net this upcoming season. Um, and who else do they have that I'm really thinking about? That defense is kind of void of a lot of like big name guys. Micah Williams, the guy they drafted out of Georgia. That's gonna be a guy they're hoping can be a big uh big ad to their team. So, like, I just think that the Niners are have always just play a lot better than what their talent should be. And but again, they could be too high, they could be too low. Who knows? Um That's a Niners team that can be by the end of the season can look a lot different based on how things based off how things go for them this upcoming season. But based off what I know of them, I think nine is not necessarily the worst spot to be putting them. Um, so next one we have is a 10 spot. What team should I have at 10? Hmm. Is this a spot to go the Eagles? Ooh, don't want to know the Eagles here. Let me think here. Eagles we can go back to the AFC, maybe? No. I don't like anybody in the like maybe go the Bengals? Uh no. I think the Eagles are a better overall team than the Bengals right now. I'll do it. I'll go with the Eagles being here at 10. I think the Eagles are definitely a team with a lot of questions, but I think they still have a very good overall team. Their defense is still very, very good. Um, what is that offense gonna be now without AJ Brown? Is gonna be a big question for me. Are they gonna be doing a lot more running the football with um Saquon and doing stuff from under center, or is this whole saga with Jalen Hurts not wanting to do under center stuff and all that? Is that gonna keep being an issue? Um is Devontae Smith gonna be able to take like be the number one receiver they need him to be, is a big question. Um, what is that wide receiver group now without AJ Brown and Devontae Smith being number one? And they added uh why am I forgetting the guy's name? They added the dude from UFC, right? Hold on. I'm gonna I got this. Lip Makai Lemon, is he gonna be able to take the next step? They did add Elias Towers at tight end. I think he's gonna be a huge weapon for them. Um but what is that offense gonna be going into next year is gonna be a big question. But I think the Eagles from top to bottom are a better football team than the other team I was thinking about is probably the Bengals at this spot. Only make sure I'm not crazy here. Do I have anything, any other team that I really want to? No, the Eagles are Eagles are good here. What are the Bears? Uh I don't know. Bears, Lions. No. I wouldn't put Tampa here. I think Tampa is kind of like the same thing as the Bengals, honestly. Alright, at 11, I will go. I'll go Bengals here. I get it. The Bengals weren't good last year whatsoever. Joe Burrow got hurt. Um, who knows what his health is going to be going into next season. Again, if Joe Burrow gets hurt, pretty much all this stuff is thrown out the window anyway, because he really is the reason for that team being what it can be. But they added um sexy Dexie to that defensive side of the ball. They've added some good, they've added some real pieces to that defensive side of the ball via the draft, via free agency. You're all gonna get Joe Burrow back, so hopefully he'll be able to have a healthy season and be the quarterback for them all season long. Um that offense is already, again, with Joe Burrow at the helm, that offense is scary against anybody. So, and they're not taking a back, like offensively, they're not taking a backseat to anybody. So defensively, I think they'll be able to take some real steps forward with what they have added. And I do like their defensive coordinator. Why am I forgetting that guy's name? He was the one that was formerly at Notre Dame, but so I believe who they have manning the defense at the defensive coaching spot, but it's just can Joe Burrow be healthy for a full season and kind of keep them afloat. Um, but I guess I think once they get into the playoffs, they're a very scary football team, and now they have a real like stalworth defensive player to kind of anchor their defense around. I do think that is a big difference for them, and I think they'll be a lot better coming into this next season. Again, as long as Joe Burrow stays healthy. Number 12. I'm gonna go ahead and put the anybody in the AFC that I really want to put here? No, I'm gonna go with question is do I go with the Bears Alliance here? That's scary. I'm gonna go ahead and put the Bears. I don't know, the Bears feasted off defense. Feasted off the turnovers. Can they can they without the turnovers still can they just be a better defense is my question. Hold on, goodness gracious. There we go. Um that defense is not gonna take a huge step forward this year. Hold on, hold on. You know what? Yeah, at 12. I guess I will go ahead and go with I'll go Chicago here. Oh no, I'll go Detroit. Ooh, Detroit has an issue defensively too. Do they add to that defense at all? I gotta check. Derek Moore, no, no, no, I don't like that. I'll go Bears at 12. I think um Caleb coming in this year, hopefully we'll be able to take a next step forward and just be a better down-to-down quarterback. Again, Caleb has never been a question when it comes to making off amazing offensive plays. Um, that has not never been his issue, even throughout college. The question is for him is to whether his down in, down out accuracy is going to be accuracy and decision making for him is gonna be his biggest question marks. And I feel like as long as he does better at just making the routine plays routinely, I feel like Caleb, Caleb Williams will have the sky's look sky as a limit for him as a quarterback. And they already have a very talented team around him offensively, defensively. I think they feasted on a lot of turnovers last year, but I think that even without as many turnovers, they just need to make a moderate improvement defensively because their offense is already so high powered. They just need to be able to get some stops, and I think the Bears will be able to be a better football team. But again, there's a lot of questions, and I'm not totally certain about even whether I like them at this spot. But I think they could I could have them a little bit lower because I think the Detroit Lions are probably more a little more I know what I'm getting from them offensively a lot more, but I think defensively they have honestly the same same issues as the Chicago Bears. So I think I'll go Detroit here at 13. I think the Lions and the Bears are probably very similar in what they have as football teams. Um I feel more confident in what the Bears have at head coach than I feel like with the Lions. Again, I know it is what it is with um why am I forgetting the coach's name? Uh Dan um it's Dan something. Dan Campbell. Um, I just don't feel as confident with him as the head coach and that as I am about um Ben Johnson. So with that being the case, it is what it is on that. So I'm gonna give the Bears a slight nod over the Lions. You know, I think these two teams are probably very similarly built. Defense is a little bit of a question mark, but their offense is probably where all their talent is. Um I think I believe a bit more in um I believe in sorry, Jared Goff a little bit more than I do um Caleb on a down-in-down-out basis. Even though I think Caleb is going to give you a lot of the more wow plays than what Jared Goff ever will. But I think Jared Goff as a quarterback, his accuracy on a play-in-play out basis and in decision making is probably a little bit better than Caleb's as of right now. Even if he um even if he doesn't have Jared Goff doesn't have the wow plays in his bot like in his game that Caleb does, I just feel like I know what I'm getting out of Jared Goff a lot more, like more, a lot more consistently. Um the Lions have the better running backs. I think Jameer Gibbs is awesome. Um they have am I gonna say a better wide receiver group? I don't think the the Bears have one singular wide receiver that's better than a momrzay brown. So I'll I'll go with wide receivers for in Jamison Williams, I'll go with the wide receiver core for the Lions as well. But I just think that it's I just believe in the Bears when it comes to their coaching a little bit better with Ben Johnson at the helm. So I'll go with the Lions at 13, um, right behind the Bears, but I feel like those two can be kind of be interchangeable. Um, but I think the Lions and Bears are very similar, but I'll put I'll stick the Lions at 13 based off their coach. I think that I their defense is a little bit more of a question mark, like just a tad bit more of a question mark than the Bears' um defensive question marks. Um 14 uh let's go with um we're only at 14. I feel like I've been going forever here. That's crazy. Um at least I'm trying. I'm I'm trying to actually make this list correctly, right? Um let's go 14. I'm going to go with nobody else. AFC Instant North, I want to go with right now. AFC South. I could go the Colts. I could go the Chargers. I'll go with the Chargers. I'll go with the Chargers at 14. Um, obviously, they have one of the better quarterbacks in the NFL in Mr. Jay Herbo. I have a question mark with him when it comes to big games and if he's gonna be able to like, you know, put the team on his back and like make the big plays. I do question that. Um, but I think they have a very, very, they think a solid team around him. Their offensive line is gonna be solid. I think they're getting both of their offensive tackles back that were hurt last year, so I think their offensive line will be better in front of Jay Herbo to make him a little bit more up, keep him upright a little bit more throughout this next upcoming season. Their defense is definitely like their defense is fine, but it's like in the big games they can kind of break down a little bit. So I do question that. I think they'll have a better running game because their offensive line will be better. So that should help out their defense a decent bit. But I'll take the four the Chargers at 14 here. I do think they do have one of the better coaches in the NFL in Mr. Harbaugh, even though I know, even though I believe he's a dirty cheater. Um, but I think when it comes to coaching grow men and doing that, I feel like he does a fairly good job. Um, so I'll take the Chargers at 14 here. Um I might have to go with the Colts. No. I'll go Buccaneers, Tampa. Yeah. 15, I'll go Tampa Bay. Um I think Tampa Bay kind of had a little bit of a letdown last year with what their season was, but I believe in what Baker is. I believe in they made some real um additions to their defense in the offseason, both through the um through free agency and the draft. I know they lost Mike Williams, but I do think that they're gonna be able they still have a fairly good um offensive skill group unit with, you know, um, with having a second year of a Mek Igbuka. They're gonna have, and um they still have why I'm freaking the running back's name for them. Oh, that sucks for me to be freeding names. I'm so bad with names today. That's awful. They still have Mec. They still have Bucky Irving as their running back. He's an awesome running back that does everything, catching the ball at the backfield, um, just handing him the football, letting him run. Um, they still have Chris Goblin at the wide receiver position, and they still have K D Otden at tight end. Their offensive line is a little bit iffy at times, but I feel like it's not one of the worst units out there. Actually, no, it's not all that great now that I think about it. They did get let Baker get a lot of hits, a lot of hits on Baker last year. And then their defense, I feel like with the addition that they've made, I feel like I'm gonna I feel comfortable putting Tampa Bay here at 15. 16. Let's go ahead and go with Kansas City. Yeah, let's go with Kansas City. This might be low. I'm not gonna lie to you. But they do have Patrick Mahomes coming off an injury. They say that he's fully ready for clear him full contact, and he said that he feels great, so hopefully he'll be able to start the season off from game one being great. Um, but I do think they've taken a little bit of a step back. They've kind of gotten rid of some of their more high-priced value players on that defensive side of the football, which has really been like their biggest thing. They did add Kenneth Walker, they didn't really add anything to their wide receiver core whatsoever. And Rasheed Rice is supposed to be their number one receiver, but he's been having a very eventful offseason of his own, having to go back to jail because of uh something and then getting having the injury. He's having you had he had to rehab while in while in jail for a month, which is kind of insane. Um, so the Rasheed Rice thing is a little bit questionable. They don't I don't think they really have a great wide receiver core. They have another year of Travis Kelsey, who knows what like Travis Kelsey at his age. I'm not gonna expect him to have a like what the years he was having three, four years ago where he was still one of the best tight ends in the NFL, not only because of his age, but because of injuries and all of that. So I'm not necessarily feeling all that confident about them in general, but I think that and their defense taking a few steps back. So I think the Kennedy could definitely be higher. I think if I had to redo this list, I could easily see them being three or four steps higher, but I'm like, I'm not feeling great about it, to be totally honest with you. Again, amongst all the quarterbacks, I feel like if you if you guarantee Patch Mahomes' health, like he's still one of the best quarterbacks out there, but it's he has not like he's been playing like it over the last couple years based off of how the offense has looked. So, and I think they're gonna be more of a team that's gonna want to control the football and be able to run the football a lot more than what they've been in the past. So, again, they could be higher, but I'm just I'm not feeling it as of right now. So 16 is where I have Kansas City. Next, let's go with let's see here. Let's go the Colts. When Daniel Jones was healthy for this Colts team, they were very, very good. Again, they had a little bit of a weaker schedule last year. They feasted on some bad teams, but I also think they have a very talented squad overall. Um, their defense is still very solid. I think their offense, as long as Daniel Jones is healthy, I think we'll be able to do some pretty good things. They run the football fairly well. Um, I like their head coach. And uh I'm thinking the guy's name. See, I've been looking up so many coaches' names this podcast, which is kind of crazy. Um, Colts Hood. Is it Shane Steichen? Yeah, aha, got it. I thought I I swear, Scouts Honor, even though I wasn't a scout, I was Googling it and I thought of his name before the results even came up. So I'll give myself a point there. I did actually remember his name. Shane Steichen, I believe in him as the offensive offensive coordinator's last head coach. Um, I think that they're still a very talented football team. Um they've let um a few players go here or there, but I do feel like 17 is a good spot for the Colts. But again, they could be higher or lower. But I just think that, you know, a few questions here or there with Daniel Jones being able to play a big game quarterback type of moments. But I think throughout the regular season, I think Daniel Jones would be great, but again, he's coming off an injury, so hopefully he'll be able to stay healthy, do what he has to do, and be ready to go for the start of the season. Um, next, let's go with who I want here. Anyone NFC North? Ooh, I've had the pac I'm oh a Packers, oh, Packers might be a little bit of a omission here. I think the Packers might be a mistake. I should have had them well before this. But they don't have but they're not gonna have Micah Parsons. But they should be higher than Tampa. No. I'm gonna throw the Packers. No, they should not be 18. Okay, this is where I'm this is where I messed up here. I'm gonna throw I'm I'm gonna have the Packers at 14. I'm gonna throw the Packers in at 14, and then I'm gonna move everybody else down a spot. That's gonna that's gonna be what we're gonna do. I'm gonna throw the Packers in at 14 right behind the Bears and Lions because I think the Packers are gonna be without Micah Parsons going into this upcoming season. Um I still have questions with them offensively because they honestly I don't believe in their wide receiver core whatsoever. Um I have Jordan Love is an up and down quarterback like with the best of them. And as much as their office line can be good at time, their offline is actually relatively good. I just don't believe in everything they have going on there. So I'm gonna have the Packers at 14, but I do believe in them more than the Chargers, Tampa. I think like I think the Packers are very similar to a lot of these teams in that's in that kind of like area. Bears, Lions, Packers, Chargers, very similar. So I'm gonna throw the Packers in at 14, and then I'm gonna move everybody else down a spot. So Chargers will be at 15, Tampa Bay at 16, um, Kansas City at 17, um, and then the Colts are gonna be at 18. And now I'm going to pick 19. Um, hold on, let me write down. I'm fixing it because this is the only problem with me using pen. I love using pens, but the problem is that if I mess up, now I'm just like writing over things. So give me just a second here. Okay, so the Colts are at 18. Now I'm going to 19. Let's go with um No Colts at 18. Dolphins no, Jets no, Cowboys, Giants. Eesh. Commanders. I'll go commanders here. I'll go commanders here. Because again, you have Jane Daniels coming off an injury riddled season. Who knows what he's gonna be coming into next year? Again, if he's healthy, I do believe he'll be playing some pretty good football. Um defensively, I don't really like their little bit of a hodgepodge defensively. Um, they did add Sonny Styles to that team, so I feel like that's gonna be a huge, a huge bump for them to add in a real Stalworth. Middle linebacker that'll be able to be the head guy of their defense. But their defense still has a ways to go. Offensively, their weapons are a little bit weird. They have Terry McLaurin, but outside of him, it's a little bit sketchy as to what else they have around that. And then their running game is a little bit sketchy as well. If Jaden Daniels isn't able to run like he was in like two years ago, I do question what their running game is going to be if they want Jaden Daniels to kind of protect himself a lot more. So I'm gonna I'm gonna throw the commanders here at 19. And they could be higher. If Jane Daniels like has his year like he had that his rookie year, where he was just absolutely insanely good, I feel like it's gonna be very hard for anybody to stop them, but um, but it's just kind of hard for me to like rely on that. So I'll put the n the commanders here at 19, and I feel pretty good here. And then 20, I'll go ahead and put the Cowboys. I'm not gonna lie, the Cowboys might be a tad bit low here because I think their offense is really that good. I think their offense is like uh is gonna be insanely good. I think Dak is Dak, he'll be good throughout the regular season, but when it comes to big games in the playoffs, I don't believe in him nearly as much. Um, they are messing around with uh Mr. George Pickens and hoping that he's gonna take that one year um franchise tag deal and be happy about it and not cause a problem. I'm not feeling confident in that whatsoever. Not like at all. Um they did add Caleb Downs to that defense to help that out, but again, I just think that they need a lot of things to work out defensively for them to take that next step forward. Um but I think their offense is gonna be amazing. Their offense is, again, as long as George Pickens is locked in, which is very hard to rely on, but as long as they have a locked-in George Pickens, I think their offense is gonna be very good. Their running game is a little bit iffy. It like I think their running game only works is because that they're because their passing game is so scary for defense to have to deal with. I think it opens up things for their offense of their uh their running game, even though I don't think they really have a great running game. But I think the Cowboys at 20 here is definitely not a bad spot. But I think they could be higher, but I think this their defense has so many questions. I think again, I think Caleb Downs is going to be a huge addition to that defense, but their defense is so awful last year that they need a lot more than just Caleb Downs to help fix it. Um, 21. Let's go with Minnesota's a no. Hey, back to the AFC Raiders no, Titans no. Uh I could go Steelers here. Uh Steelers better than the Vikings. I would go the Steelers over the Vikings right now. So at 21, I will put the Steelers. Me being a Steelers fan, um, I'm not feeling great about it. I think they could easily be lower than this, but they are gonna have Aaron Rodgers at the helm. I feel like he's gonna bring some consistency there, even if it's not gonna give you, you know, top 15 potential quarterback movement. I think he'll be good enough to keep the offense rolling. I think they've added a lot of help around him to be able to make that offense a lot better. Um, we have a we're gonna have a real offensive system with Mike McCarthy, even if I'm not all that confident about it. So that's gonna be a big question for me is how that offense kind of molds together. Because I do think the offense is gonna have to take a huge step forward if they want to kind of do the things they want to do. I'm not feeling confident about it. But and then the defense, you know, it was not really good last year. I feel like we were gonna have a real defensive coordinator because I feel like um, why am I freeing the guy's name? This name I actually don't remember whatsoever. Um Steelers Decoordinator. I'm freeing the guy. Patrick Graham. He did a lot of good things with the um with the with the the Raiders last year, kind of doing more with less. And now he's going to a defense that has actually a lot of big pieces. So hopefully he'll be able to do some good things with the with the Steelers defense this year. But I'm not feeling great about the whole experience, the Aaron Rodgers aspect, the Mike McCarthy, even though I think he knows what he's doing offensively. I'm just not I don't feel coughed about any of it. But I think they have enough talent to where 21 is a fairly good spot to put them. So 21 is where I got him. 22. Let's see here. Are we going back to the NFC or are we gonna stay in the AFC? I don't like anybody else in the AFC, to be honest with you. Um, no, let's go back to the NFC here. Alright, got the Cowboys and Giants in there and commanders. Did I have the Giants? I'll put the Vikings here. Yeah. The Vikings might be a team here at 22 that might be a little bit too low. But I think with the questions that they have for that team, I think that is Kyler Murray going to be able to do what he needs to do to take that job, because apparently they're can still considering it a quarterback battle, which is insane to me. The fact that him and uh J.J. McCarthy could ever be in a quarterback battle is insane based off of what um based off what Kyler has done in the NFL and the fact that JJ has been so bad during his NFL career. So I just think that they're trying to give they're trying to have every opportunity for J.J. McCarthy to prove that they did not make a terrible pick by picking him in the draft where they did. But I think that by doing this, they may hinder um they may hinder Kyler Murray's progression to be able to get that offense going the way it needs to, and to be able to be the become the guy they need him to be. Because I think they need him to be like old Kyler Murray making all the plays and doing everything they need to do they need to do in order for them to be a successful football team, and they may be hindering that by trying to entertain this quarterback battle that it shouldn't be. Their defense has always been good, but I feel like they just they always just kind of put pulling together some hodgepodge guys and kind of just hoping where they go. But again, I believe in that in what they've been doing defensively, they've always been a fairly good defense. It's all about their offense, man. Can Kevin O'Connell um do what he needs to do to make sure Yeah, KOC, right? Yeah, KOC. Um do what he needs to do to get that offense together with Carla Murray at the helm. Can they keep Justin Jefferson happy? Can they have a really a decent running game? Because I think their defense, their running game has kind of been questionable over the past few years. But I think Minnesota right here is definitely a good spot. But I feel like they can play themselves into being a lot higher than this. So definitely some upside for Minnesota that in by comparison to some of the other teams ahead of them. But I think that some of the downsides for them are real question marks for me. Um that's at 22 at 23. I'm going to go ahead and go with already have those teams. Already have all of those teams. Do I want to go another NFC South team? Um, Saints, Panthers, Falcons. I don't like any of that. I definitely don't like the Cardinals. I definitely don't like the Raiders. Tennessee. I think I might have to go with another NFC South team here. Let's go with the Saints. Do I go Saints or Falcons here? Ooh. Iowa Falcons. I'll go Atlanta Falcons here at 23. Um, because I think that they're probably gonna have Mr. Tua Tagovailoa being their starting quarterback, to be totally honest with you. Again, whoever starts, I don't think it really matters. I feel like it's gonna be fairly similar quarterback play. But I think they have a ton of weapons offensively and a ton of weapons offensively to deal with. Kyle Pitts at the tight end position that they just paid. Um B. John Robinson, obviously one of the best running backs in all the NFL. Um, Drake London being a very good wide receiver in the NFL as well. So they have a lot of offensive pieces to get the ball to. Defensively, I think that um they have a lot of like they have a lot of pieces on their defense. Um, but it's just putting it all together to make sure the defense is playing well is probably the biggest question for them. As well as the quarterback position, what are they gonna get out of Tua? Or um, why am I forgetting the other guy's name? I suck at names today. I'm usually better than this. Usually I'm not this bad. Um Michael Penix Jr. There it is. I remembered it. So getting good quarterback play out of one of those two players is gonna be vital for them to be a lot, but again, if they get better quarterback play, I think they could be a lot higher than this. But it's just with their questions, I do I do have some question marks about this team as to this the reason why they're being as low as they are for me. Let's go. Next one. We might have to go Saints. Definitely not Cardinals. All those teams are in. Um can we go Giants here? Saints or Giants? I'm gonna go Giants because that defense is gonna be a lot better for the Giants. Let's go the Giants. I'm gonna go Giants here at 24. Um They have a very good defense. They added even more to that decent defensive side of the ball by adding Arvell Reese to play linebacker for them. Again, they're actually gonna add him, have him play, have him play outside uh off-ball linebacker, which I think he'll still be very good at in the NFL. Um, but I think they'll also have times for that where he can rush the passer and all of that as well. But they're not gonna try to convert him to defensive end like other teams were gonna try to um when they were talking about him coming to the NFL. Their defense is gonna be awesome. They have a very good pass rush. All my questions for them are gonna be offensively. Is um I think I'm going crazy here. Is um Jackson Dark gonna be able to take the next step as a quarterback, not only keep himself healthy, but be able to make be a better passer? Because again, his running made him a lot more effective than we thought than than he was last year. Like if he wasn't able to, like if he didn't have all the running stuff, like he was a very inefficient passer last year. Um so can he take the next step as a passer for that in that offense is gonna be a big question for them. Um when it comes to running back position, they're really a little they're a little iffy at the running back position. Uh is Cam Scadaboo gonna come back and play well? I'm not really confident in that. So they're like, what is their running game gonna be? And then they big question for me is what is Malik Neighbors gonna be coming off of the injury? Because I've seen some videos and photos of him not really looking and running all that well and coming off of his ACL injury. So what is he gonna be? Because again, if they don't have him, then what the heck else do they have at the wide receiver position to really rely on? Um, what do they got? They got freaking Darnell Mooney, um, they have Darius Slayton, they have uh like so like they're a little bit iffy at the wide receiver position to help out Jackson Dart. Um tight end, I think they're they're fine. They have Theo Johnson, Isaac they did add Isaiah likely, so I think he'll be a very good um pass catcher out uh at the tight end position for them. But it's just the questions for me offensively are big for me, especially at the quarterback position. I don't think Jackson Dart. I I Jackson Dart can do some good things, but it's just can he protect himself? Can he become better as a passer? Is my bigger questions for me. Um next spot. Let's go ahead. Let's see here. Giants. Now we'll go Saints. Yeah, we'll go with Saints here. That's the move. Yep, we'll go Saints. Um we'll go with Saints here because uh honestly, I think that's a little bit of projection for me because I do feel like they can be a fairly good football team. I think their defense is going to take a little bit of a step back because they kind of let some pieces go. Um, but with um, let me see here. With Tyler Shuck, I feel like he played very well last year, and I feel like he made some really good plays and showed some real promise. Um so I think he played very well, and I think he'll I feel like he'll be able to take a next step forward, and I don't think he'll ever be like a top 10, top 15 quarterback in the NFL, but I think he could probably be a good middle-of-the-road quarterback that I think can you can win with. Maybe you'll never be a never he'll never be able to win because of quarterback, but he definitely can be a win with quarterback. So I think he showed some real flashes last year. They added Travis Etienne at the running back position to him and Alvin Kamara. Alvin Kamara's not the same running back as he has been in the past, but I think having adding Travis Etienne to be a little more, a little more of the hammer, even though I do think he can still add in some of the pass-catching stuff and a little more versatility, I feel like is going to be a big deal for them. And then at the wide receiver position, they already had Chris Olave, again, issues with the injuries a little bit here or there, but they also added um Jordan Tyson uh as a first-round pick to add to that wide receiver core. And if Jordan Tyson coming off his injuries, if he can play well, I think he'll be a huge compliment to what Chris Olave is. And I feel like they'll have some really good weapons to throw to. Um they added Noah Fant to the at the wide at the tight end position along with Juwan Johnson. So I do feel like they have some really good pass catchers as well. And their offensive line, I feel like, is not the worst out there. Their offensive line is actually like it's not like a bunch of like stall worth offensive linemen, but they have some, like their off the line knows how to do their job, and I think they do do a relatively good job of not only in the running game, but in the passing game as well. And then defensively, that's gonna be where their issue is. Like they have a like Cam Jordan is like the stalwart on that defense, but then outside of him is where they have some real question marks. Their defense is definitely gonna be their biggest issue for them for the most part. But they have Justin Reed as a little bit older, but I feel like he's gonna be a good guy they can kind of rely on to make some plays. And then cornerback-wise, Kool-Aid McKinsey, they used a um a good pick on him to help with that defense. But their defense is definitely gonna be their bigger issue for them overall. Um, but the Saints, I feel like they have some flash, and I feel like if their offense can take the next step forward, um, I think they can be a little bit of a surprise team. I'm not saying you're saying they're gonna make the playoffs or anything, but I can say they can be a fairly tough team to have to deal with on a weekly basis throughout the NFL season if they take the next step forward in ways they need to. Let's see here. Next we will go with do we go back to the AFC? I don't think so. Browns are a no, Titans or a no. Do we go Raiders here? Cowboys, Giants, use all those. Already used all those. We'll go Panthers here. Ugh. The Panthers might be low. They didn't make the playoffs last year. But I also think that relying I'll uh we'll go Panthers here at 26. Um, that that's a question mark for me. I'm not gonna lie to you. He might they might be a little too low now that I'm thinking about it. But here's my thing. I think they caught fire last year at the right time with Bryce Young. But do you am I gonna sit here and say that Bryce Young is like all those problems are behind him and those aren't gonna pop back up for him? That's where I have a huge issue with believing. The running game is fine, um, but it's not necessarily like a dominant running game whatsoever to help him out. So I do question that part. They Tet McMillan was an amazing ad for them last year. I think he played some very good football. Um, but outside of that, like pass catch is a little bit iffy. I think that let's see here. Jalen Coker is a could a good run your route type and just kind of getting to certain spots. Um and I think John Mechie, the guy they added in the offseason, he can be a good speed receiver, but it's just like he hasn't really shown in the NFL like consistently. Um they added tight end wise, did they add somebody? I thought they did. No, the Jatavian Sanders is a pretty good tight end that they have on their roster that's to throw the ball to. As well as Tommy Tremble, the guy they used a lot last year. So those two guys, tight end position, but I think defensively they added a lot, and it's just I just don't believe that their offense is gonna be able to kind of like be consistent enough to be a lot higher. I think they probably should be. Uh they did make the playoffs last year. Let me think. No, I'm not gonna do it. I'm not gonna do it. I just don't believe in I just I just don't believe in uh old boy Bryce Young enough. Again, he can prove me wrong, but it's just his ups and downs are so stark and so different. I just question how they can be consistent throughout the season. All right, number 27. Let's go with Falcons. Oh, oh, Falcons too. I forgot to mention they did add um Kevin Stefansky, the former Browns head coach. I feel like he can do a lot of cool things there and kind of get a lot of guys open and like help out that offense in general. So no matter which quarterback they have there, I think Kevin Stefansky will be able to kind of really build an offense, especially in the dome with all those talented players. I feel like he'll be able to do a lot of good things there. Sorry, I'd I forgot about him, but he is a definite huge ad for them at the at the coaching spot. So 27. Um, let's go with Oh no, let's see here. The Colts are off. I can go Raiders here. I can easily go Raiders. Let's go Raiders. Why not? I'll go Raiders. They're adding um Fernando Mendoza at their quarterback position. Um hopefully he'll be able to make the transition to the NFL and do some pretty good things. Um, they add a lot of talent all around to that team. Um they still have Max Crosby, which is definitely gonna be a huge help as long as they don't trade him away. Um again, I think they'll be better because at least they'll have a better quarterback situation here. I think uh Mendoza will be able to do some good things. Hopefully help out the running game. Um with um why am I freaking the Connery running back's name? He just drafted him from freaking they just drafted him too and everything, and I'm forgetting the guy's name. Um it's freaking Ash and Genty. Hopefully they'll be able to help have a better running game with Genty. Um they have some weapons, they have Brock Bowers wide receiver-wise a little bit, it's a little bit questionable, but they do have Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer at two tight ends that are very, very good. They added Linderbaum to the offensive line at the center position. I think he'll be a very good stabilizing force to help out the pass game and the running game. And then defensively, um what did they add to that team defensively? They just they just needed players. They did add a lot in the draft, so hopefully they'll be able to kind of make some good um make some good headway defensively to kind of become a better football team. But again, they're at 27 for a reason. I think they'll be able to do some good things, but you know, they'll still kind of suck for the most part. Um, let's go 28. We'll go with not ready to go to the Cardinals here. You know what? Instead of going 28, let's go down to 32. What is gonna be the worst team in the NFL to me? That's where I'll go. That might be more indicative of where we're at. And I think 28, everything else will figure itself out. So let's go with the worst team in the NFL, I think, is going to be what I go. Am I gonna go the Browns or the Titans? I'm gonna go the Browns. I think the Browns will be number thirty two. Straight away their best player in Miles Garrett. They who knows what they're going to do at the quarterback position. That's a big question mark. Um their head coach, they picked up the guy from um they picked up the OC. It's what is his name? I'm forgetting his name. Todd Munkin. So I think he'll be able to build a little bit better of an offense, but I'm just not feeling confident with the piece that they have offensively. Outside of um Quinchon Junkins at the running at the uh running back position. Um but it's just everywhere else is kind of a question mark all over the place. Their defense will be fine, but they now without their best defensive player, who knows what they're gonna be the cup this upcoming season. So I think the Browns are probably the number 32 team, probably the worst team in the NFL next year. Um let's go with number 31. I think I will go with the Tennessee Titans. I want to go Tennessee or go to the Arizona Cardinals. I'm gonna go to the Tennessee Titans. I'm gonna go thirty Tennessee Titans at 31 just because I think that they just need to add a lot more as a football team. I think they'll probably be better than this just based off of Cam Ward's progression as a quarterback. I think he'll be able to make a lot more plays. They finally got him a real number one wide receiver in in um I'm why am I forgetting my boy's name? No, no, no, no. Um no, no. Cardinal Tate. Um they added Cardinal Tate, so they have a real wide receiver one to help out Cam Ward out there on the offensive side of the football. Um they running game is really not all that great. Their defense is they're gonna have to add a lot of pieces to their defense to kind of help their defense make the next step forward. But they do have a good defense, right? Robert Salah as their head coach. So I do think he's gonna be able to fix that defense and kind of help the defense take a good step forward. But whether they'll be able to take a huge step is gonna be a big question for me. So I will have the Tennessee Titans at number 31. I will have at 30, I will go ahead and put the Do I want the Arizona Cardinals here? Oh, the Jets. I forgot about the Jets. No. Okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay, okay. Sorry, I made a mistake. At 31, we'll be the New York Jets. Probably the Jets could be at number 32. That's no, Dolphins. Alright, I messed up all over the place. Number 32, Dolphins. Have no talent, traded away everybody. I think they want the number one overall pick to get their quarterback next year. 32, the Dolphins. Number 31 will be the New York Jets. I think the Jets not only don't have a coach that they really believe in, I feel like their defense is absolutely awful. Um, they're gonna have Geno Smith as their quarterback. Again, I was a Geno Smith believer last year. This year, I am not gonna fall for the same mistake twice. I think the Jets are gonna suck. They're gonna be awful. I think they're another team that are trying to get that number one overall pick going into next season so they get they can get their quarterback. And they just they are devoid. I think I feel so bad for Brees Hall because it's just hit. Sorry, Brees Hall, and I feel bad for um Um no, no, no, no, no, no. And I feel bad for Garrett Wilson. I feel so bad for both of those players because I just think they don't have really anybody around them for the most part. They did add Kenyon Sadiq to that offense, but they just don't have a lot of talent around them, and they have Geno Smith as their quarterback, so I'm not feeling great about that whatsoever. So I'm gonna I feel very bad for those two players offensively, but the Jets at number 31. 30. I will have the Browns. There we go. The Browns will be at 30 because I think they have a little bit more talent than both the Jets and the Dolphins. I feel like quarterback-wise, they're just as bad as those two teams below them, but I think they have more talent just overall as a football team than the two teams below them, below them and the Jets and the Dolphins. But I do think the Browns are one of the worst teams in the NFL, so I'll have them at 30. Number 29. I will go ahead and have the Tennessee Titans. Nope. Will the Titans be better or worse than the Cardinals? I'm gonna go ahead and have the Tennessee Titans at 29. I have Carnel Tate being added to that Titans team will be a huge deal with Cam Ward. But I think overall they just need to add so many pieces to that team that I think that the Titans at 29 is a good spot, and then at 28, I will go ahead and put the Cardinals. The Cardinals are one of those teams that I think they have a lot of pieces outside of quarterback. Um they have they have one of the best tight ends in the best tight end in the NFL, if I'm being totally honest. Is it the best? Uh hold on, let me think. Let me think, let me think. No, he's the best tight end in the NFL. He for sure is. So Trey McBride, I think, is the best tight end then in the NFL. Um, they have him. I think Marvin Harrison Jr. is going to make a huge step up this year. I think he's going to be able to play some really good football. If you see pictures of him, he's bulking up. I think he's going to be a lot do be able to do a lot of good things. They added Jeremiah Love to that offense, which I think, even though I think it's a little bit early, I don't think they need a running back like this because I think they're going to waste him a little bit, but that is a very good weapon for them to add to that offense. Um Jacoby Brissett should be their starting quarterback coming into this year, but he is holding out for a contract. So hopefully they'll be able to figure that out at some point. But if they get Jacobi Brissett back at the quarterback position, I think he'll be able to be a good distributor to all those crazy weapons they have on that team. I think he'll be able to do a pretty good job. Um, if not him, then it'll be Carson Beck. But I think that even Carson Beck, I think, can be a not a good starting quarterback, but serviceable at this point because he's played so much football and like done a lot of good, done a lot of things in college. He'll have his lumps if he has to play, but I think that he'll be able to figure it out at some point. But I do think Jacobi Brissett will be the guy starting from them going into next season. And then on the defensive side of the ball, they do have some real pieces, man. Their defense was not awful last year, and they added some pieces in the offseason. And I think that the tight can't the Cardinals can be a team that can play better than what they're would I have them ranked here at 28. But I think that because of the quarterback position, that I think there's gonna be a big question for them as to what how that goes. And I think that it just their coach is a little bit iffy. So I'm I'm I'm there's question marks on this team, but I do think they have some real talent to to work with by comparison to the teams below them. So, and the and they do lack a little bit of direction by comparison, which is why

All right, I know I took super long to figure that one out, but this is my ranking as of right now. I know I went super long in trying to figure all this out. So I will just go from one to 32, and then I will get us out of here because I have gone for close to three hours. Again, a lot longer than I thought. I know that the last segment might have been a little long me going through it, but I did want to I didn't want to come with my rankings already pre-done because I do I did want to like have a little bit of like you getting my my insight and my thought process when I was doing these rankings. I thought it was a tad bit more interesting to kind of just think of my have my um my thought process while doing it, rather than me just kind of already having it all figured out, even though if it led to a certainly maybe longer or more boring podcast.
