Theme Songyou
Captain Edgarrr MateyHoist the sails, Reginald
RedgeAye, Captain Edgar Matey
Captain Edgarrr MateyWe must set out on the high seas right away.
RedgeNo delay
Captain Edgarrr Mateynot today
JonathanAhoy, Captain Matey I've just repaired the loose plank near the crow's nest, so all is sturdy and stable again.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAye your crow captain can't go anywhere without a sturdy crow's nest I thank ye, Jonathan. Avast me heartes Prepare to set sail batten down the hatches!
RedgeYar batten down the hatches!
Captain Edgarrr MateyRaise the anchor
RedgeYar and swab the poop deck
Captain Edgarrr MateyReginald We don't need to do that right now.
RedgeOh I know. I just like saying it.
Captain Edgarrr MateyRight enough, my boy. Prepare to set sail
JonathanSo what's the rush? I thought Redge and I were stopping by for a peaceful day on the water to help with a few repairs.
Captain Edgarrr MateyYes, that is how the day started.
RedgeBut Jonathan, something exciting is afoot.
Captain Edgarrr MateyMe navigator, Rose the Raven
Rose the RavenHi.
Rose the RavenShe found a brand new treasure map half buried in the sand on our last island excursion.
RedgeShe's been hard at work translating the Corvid Code.
JonathanOoh, what's the Corvid Code?
Rose the RavenIt's secret language spoken by ancient crows and ravens that lived near the Fantasy. Old seafarer legends say
Redgethat sounded like a series of clicks and rattles and caws known only to the most worthy of pirates. Ooh sorry for interrupting. I'm just so excited.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAye, Mehearty, so am I
Rose the RavenAnd you're right! And I found a written translation of the Corvid code hidden in the new map.
RedgeCan you believe it, Jonathan? Undiscovered treasure. Can we go with them to find it? Oh please, Jonathan, please, please, please
JonathanWell, I always love adventure.
Captain Edgarrr MateyHuzzah! Wonderful, Mehearties, wonderful. Let's raise the anchor and hoist the sails.
RedgeAye aye, Captain!
Rose the RavenSo I've translated the markings on the map through careful study and observations.
RedgeWow! Does that mean you know how to speak the COVID code now?
Rose the RavenI can! It's a fascinating language. Many birds have used it to share the secret location of nests and exchange shiny trinkets.
Captain Edgarrr MateyOh, I love shiny trinkets.
Rose the RavenMe too.
RedgeMe three!
JonathanMe four.
Rose the RavenAh yeah. Shiny stuff is cool. Oh, which reminds me, Captain Matey, I know where we're going, but you're not going to believe it.
Captain Edgarrr MateyOh what does the map foretell?
Legume Lagoon
Captain Edgarrr MateyRose the Raven
After referencing other maps in my collection, getting briefly distracted by practicing my Corvid Code, and then focusing again, I learned that this map leads to the Legume Lagoon.
Captain Edgarrr MateyNo
Rose the RavenYes.
Captain Edgarrr MateyDid you hear that, Mehearties? Legume Lagoon!
JonathanUh yes, but we don't know what it means.
Rose the RavenLegends say Legume Lagoon is a small secret place off the shore of the fantasea where an ancient piece of treasure is buried.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAye, the most desired piece of treasure by avian pirates sailing the high seas.
Rose the RavenThe Golden Peanut
JonathanOoh, that sounds fancy. What does it do?
Rose the RavenNo one is sure, because no one has ever found it before.
Captain Edgarrr MateyWe thought it was just the stuff of stories, but here we are with proof that the golden peanut exists.
RedgeOh what do you think it does?
Captain Edgarrr MateyMaybe it's just really shiny.
Rose the RavenOr maybe it has a tiny map in its shell that will lead us to more treasure.
RedgeOr it holds the secret recipe for the best peanut butter in the world.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAll wonderful ideas, Mehearties. Wonderful in
RedgeWhat was that?
JonathanAre the waves getting more wavy?
RedgeUh the ship does seem to be rocking back and forth with more
The Giant Squid
Redgegusto.
Rose the RavenOh did I forget to mention the giant squid?
RedgeGiant squid!
Rose the RavenWell, in order to pass through this part of the fantasea and make it to the lagoon, the Corvid Code states that we have to speak with the giant squid and ask for a push.
RedgeFor a push?
Rose the RavenThat's what it says.
RedgeUm, excuse me, uh Mr. Giant Squid, uh sir.
Giant SquidYo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me.
RedgeMr. Giant Squid, sir, could you perhaps put our ship down?
Giant SquidHuh? Oh Little Pirates
Rose the RavenHi.
JonathanUh yeah, yep. Uh little pirates who are having a bit of a hard time uh balancing.
Giant SquidWhoa. What? Oh, uh oops. Uh I'll put you down. Uh what are you little pirates doing all the way out here?
Rose the RavenWe are looking for Legume Lagoon.
Giant SquidThe Lagoon? Well, you can't get all the way there unless you meet a Giant Squid and say the password to convince him to give you a push.
RedgeOh, um well, aren't you a giant squid?
Giant SquidHuh? Oh wait, I am! Very clever little pirates. Uh hold on, uh let me get into character. Who on this Fantasea dare seek Legume Lagoon?
Captain Edgarrr MateyUh it be me, uh Captain Edgar Matey, the most fearsome crow captain on the fantasea.
Giant SquidHello, uh wait a minute And what business do you have here?
RedgeWe're searching for the legendary Golden Peanut.
Giant SquidAye, the Golden Peanut! Only the most worthy pirates will go on to find such a thing. How will you show me your bravery, courage, and pirate spirit?
Rose the RavenWith the password.
Giant SquidYeah, you got it? Wait, wait, I mean. Ah so you have discovered the password known only to the most worthy of pirates?
Rose the RavenThe password is Nedlog.
RedgeNed log?
Rose the RavenIt's golden but backwards.
RedgeOh
Giant SquidAh so you are worthy indeed. I'm so proud of you little pirates. I'll go ahead and toss you now if you're ready.
Captain Edgarrr MateyYerrr uh toss us?
Rose the RavenHe's going to toss us all the way to the lagoon. First we'll fly a few miles to the west over the wandering whale pod. Then we'll take a sharp turn and glide through the great kelp forest. And then bounce on the mega massive jellyfish that live in Mega Massive Jellyfish Village.
Giant SquidOh, exactly that. So, uh you ready?
RedgeYes.
JonathanUh maybe.
Captain Edgarrr MateyReady!
RedgeThank you, giant squid. It's nice to meet you.
Giant SquidBye-bye, little pirates. And up you go!
RedgeWhee!
Rose the RavenThere are the wandering whales.
Wandering WhalesHello, hello. Nice to meet you. Hello.
Rose the RavenAnd the Great Kelp Forest. And now Mega Massive Jellyfish Village! And we're here!
RedgeThat was stupendous!
JonathanIt was something all right.
Rose the RavenAn incredibly efficient way to travel.
RedgeI can't wait any longer. Let's go find the golden peanut. Are you ready, Captain?
Captain Edgarrr MateyOh aye, my boy. Let your old captain just uh get his sea legs uh for just a moment. Oh.
JonathanWow, this place is beautiful.
RedgeSo many plants I've never seen.
Rose the RavenSo many spots we haven't explored.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAnd water is blue as the sky, just like the legends say.
Rival Squirrel Pirate Crew
Captain Edgarrr MateyRedge
Wait, Captain Matey, Jonathan, Rose, look! There are already creatures on this island.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAh, so there are.
JonathanThey look like squirrels.
Captain Edgarrr MateyNot just any old squirrels. They be pirates like us.
RedgeAnother pirate crew? Do you think they're searching for the golden peanut?
Captain Edgarrr MateyUh likely so.
RedgeWell, this just got even more exciting.
JonathanDo you know them, Captain Matey?
Captain Edgarrr MateyAye, I know them. That's be Captain Greytail and his first mate Pip Squeak over there. And their legendary crew, fearsome pirates they be.
JonathanF Fearsome? Aye. If they be looking for the golden peanut, you can be sure they'll find it.
RedgeWait, let's hide behind these palm trees and listen. Maybe we'll hear some pirate secrets.
Captain Edgarrr MateyOh like an old sneak around, eh? I love it.
RedgeExactly like that.
Captain Edgarrr MateyYou know, one time, Rose'll remember, Me crew and I were searching for the eye patch of an old captain named Bronzebeak, and we also did a sneak around. You see,
JonathanRedge, Captain, they're talking.
Captain Edgarrr MateyOh right
Captain GraytailNah, Pipsqueak. How's the digging coming along?
PipsqueakWell, Captain Sir, we've been digging for hours, but no luck. Kinda like when we stored up the acorns last winter Ah yes.
Captain GraytailThe crew did have a hard time finding that stash again.
PipsqueakRight oh, Captain Sir. I even told them to make a map.
Captain GraytailSo we are useless without a map. But I know it's here somewhere. The golden peanut! After all these years sailing the seas and climbing the trees, we've finally sniffed out its trail.
PipsqueakYes, Captain Sir, it has to be here. The lighthouse keeper Pinky Promised.
Captain GraytailAnd everyone knows there's nothing more sacred to a squirrel pirate than a pinky promise.
PipsqueakAbsolutely, Captain, sir.
Captain GraytailAh, never fear. We'll find it, Pip. You wait and see. And we will be the strongest and most glorious pirates to sail the fantasea once we have it in our grasp.
PipsqueakRight oh
Captain Graytailall other pirates will retreat when they see our sails flying high, for we will be the one and only crew to have the golden peanut ha
PipsqueakYes But Captain, sir,
Captain Graytailuh what's that, Pip?
PipsqueakWe what uh what does the golden peanut do?
JonathanWell uh I mean it's uh Well of course it uh I don't know. But we will know as soon as we find it.
RedgeThey want to keep the golden peanut all to themselves. How rude!
Captain Edgarrr MateyWe're the ones with the map. They can't find it without us.
JonathanThey seem pretty set on it, though.
RedgeGasp! What if they steal the map?
Captain Edgarrr MateyOh you're right. We just need to find the treasure first. Rose, lead the way.
Rose the RavenAye aye, Captain. It looks like we just need to head north on this trail until it curves around these trees here, and then we have
X Marks the Spot
Rose the Ravento cross them.
RedgeRose, you did it! You found the golden peanut! Or at least, uh it must be buried under the sand here, right?
JonathanIt does look like there are some markings in the stone.
Rose the RavenYes, that's the Corvid code!
Captain Edgarrr MateyYrrrr That must be it then! X marks the spot.
Rose the RavenWell, it does say, More treasure for thee awaits when the golden peanut is in our grasp. I think.
RedgeMore treasure?
Captain Edgarrr MateyYo ho! What are you waiting for? Let's start digging
Redgewonderful
Rose the RavenShiny
Captain Edgarrr MateyI can't believe we finally found it The golden peanut
Rose the RavenStill can't tell what it does.
Captain Edgarrr MateyBut isn't it beautiful?
Captain GraytailWell, well, well what have we here? A crew of crows come to take my treasure.
RedgeOh no, they found us!
Captain Edgarrr MateyAye And do me eyes deceive me? Or is that a crew of squirrels here to take my treasure?
Captain GraytailHand over the golden peanut, Captain Matey. We found this lagoon first.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAre you joking? Make Crew and I found the map and the golden peanut first. It's ours.
PipsqueakOh I knew we should have had a map.
Rose the RavenUm everyone?
Captain GraytailWell there's only one way to settle this then, isn't there?
RedgeUh oh
Jonathanthis doesn't sound good.
Rose the RavenUh you guys?
Pirate Sword Fight
Rose the RavenCaptain Edgarrr Matey
You're right, ain't ya? We're pirates after all. There's only one way to settle this score.
Rose the RavenI uh I think we have to
Captain Graytailduel
Rose the RavenWhat? No.
Captain Edgarrr MateyDraw your sword and face me like a true pirate captain.
Captain GraytailEn guard. Ha ha you try it.
Rose the RavenRedge, Jonathan, we have to stop them. I know how to make the golden peanut work.
JonathanAll right, Rose, we will help, but how do we stop this?
Captain GraytailI'm the best pirate in the land.
Captain Edgarrr MateyNo, I'm the best pirate in the land.
Captain GraytailNo me!
Captain Edgarrr MateyNo me!
RedgeWait! I have an idea. Lift me up so I'm taller, Jonathan. I have to shout.
JonathanYou got it.
RedgeHere we go. Oi! Captain Greytail! Captain Matey! I demand a parlay!
Captain GraytailHuh?
Captain Edgarrr MateyWhat?
RedgeThat's right. I demand a parlay. In Pirate Code, that means we have to talk this out instead of fight. You have to be honorable and follow the pirate code.
Captain GraytailI suppose the lad's right. We have no choice but to parlay.
Captain Edgarrr MateyI suppose so.
Rose the RavenI think it's the only way to understand how the golden peanut works.
Captain GraytailWhat do you mean?
Rose the RavenWell, the Corvid code that's on the stone says More treasure for thee awaits when the golden peanut
Captain Edgarrr Mateyis in our grasp. Yes, you shared this.
Rose the RavenBut there's more. I didn't notice it before. It roughly translates to More Treasure for Thee awaits when the golden peanut is in our grasp, a wondrous bounty will bloom when together we clasp.
JonathanSo both crews have to hold it?
Rose the RavenI think so.
Working Together
Rose the RavenRedge
We have to work together. The opposite of a duel.
Captain GraytailWork together? Well I never
RedgeWe've come all this way to see the treasure. Aren't you a little bit curious?
Captain Edgarrr MateyReginald, you're right. I'd be willing to try it if my fellow captain is willing.
Captain GraytailI suppose. It can't hurt.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAye, that's the spirit. All right, we're ready.
Rose the RavenCaptain Greytail, you take this side, and Captain Matey, you take this side.
RedgeIt's glowing!
JonathanIt's working
Captain GraytailIt's broken apart.
Captain Edgarrr MateyOh no! And the peanut has fallen to the ground.
Captain GraytailWere you just tricking us all along?
Captain Edgarrr MateyDon't be foolish, my boy.
Rose the RavenWait, look! It planted itself into the ground and
Redgethere are sprouts sprouting
JonathanAnd they're all so
Allshiny.
Rose the RavenWorking together to split the golden peanut is growing an entire field of golden peanuts.
PipsqueakMore than the eyes can see
Redgeand more than enough bounty to go around.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAye. It's the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
Captain GraytailIt is so beautiful.
Captain Edgarrr MateyRose, you're a true genius, my friend. Thank you for being the best navigator a captain could ask for, and for always showing us the way.
Rose the RavenAye aye, Captain.
RedgeWhat a beautiful shining field of treasures growing right before our eyes.
JonathanWhat should we do while we wait for them to grow?
Captain GraytailAn excellent question.
Captain Edgarrr MateyAye, well, mehearties, there is one other pirate law that all pirates must follow after a successful hunt for treasure.
RedgeWhat's that, Captain Matey?
Captain Edgarrr MateyYou are required by pirate law to enjoy a little song and dance.
RedgeAye aye, Captain.
AllAye Ay Ay.
