One of the major arguments for banning of assault rifles is that they are not useful for hunting are designed to kill people....but that is exactly the kind of weapon that is protected by the second amendment. There is not a constitutional right to hunt animals, but there is a right to kill humans who want to impinge on your rights. Guns suck but people are worse.
