Hello, I am Joshua P. Warren, and this is Joshua P. Warren Daily. And you know, this past week has just been really whacked. Has it been like that for you? I mean, I I don't know how to capture some of the things that have happened to me this past week because some of it is stuff that like legally I couldn't even really talk about, and some of it I still can't talk about. Um you know it's funny because I have a friend who for about a year worked for Mr. Rogers, who did Mr. Rogers' Neighborhood, and he told me that one day he was sitting with Mr. Rogers, and he said, When you're doing your show, who are you talking to? You know, who is that person that you're talking to? And Fred Rogers said, I'm talking to one single child out there. And the great thing about having this podcast is that I can talk about whatever I want, but I feel just like Mr. Rogers. You know, when I'm doing this podcast, I feel like I'm talking to you. Uh I'm not just talking to myself, I'm I'm talking to you. And so it's it's nice to be able to do that and realize that whether or not you are on the same wavelength or whatever your situation is, I mean, you're you're hearing me talk directly to you. And so I enjoy that, and I I try to be as honest with you as possible. And sometimes you have a week where things are frustrating because there's just so much going on that you you you can't talk about. And um I'll I'll tell you what I'm getting to in a minute. But uh it it kind of reminds you sometimes when you have these weeks that life is just a version of a dream. We're here for a short period of time. This is a temporary thing. We all know the end of the story, you're you know, you're going to die. Uh sorry to be a downer, but look, that's just how it is. And so sometimes you have to remind yourself that this is a dream, and it's just so odd, it's so weird. And it and if you don't get that, then uh it's just because you've gotten used to it for a while, and maybe you need somebody like me to come along and remind you of this. No, this is this is a this is a dream experience you're having, and this is just some kind of an odd, surreal, malleable, flexible thing that you're experiencing, and it will have all kinds of weird ups and downs like a roller coaster. So I'm kind of on a whacked out schedule right now. You you always hear that New York is the city that never sleeps, and well, I don't really think that applies to New York. I've spent plenty of time in New York. I'm here in Las Vegas right now. I think Las Vegas is really the city that never sleeps. And uh when I do sleep, and earlier tonight I took a nap, I had a nightmare. And do you know what my nightmare was? My nightmare was that I was on live radio and I was completely fucking everything up. Now, isn't that interesting? I have done so much live radio in my life that I actually have nightmares sometimes that I'm on live radio and I'm just like ruining everything. So I guess that tells you a little bit about where I'm coming from. But you know, sometimes yeah, I you know I have scary dreams where there's some some ghoul, some goblins, some apparitions, some demon, you know, you know, snakes, my spiders, all that stuff. Yeah, I have those. But but nothing scares me more than being on like live radio and screwing it up. So it's pretty cool actually to be able to do a podcast and know that if I say something right now that uh is uh out of whack, then you know I can go back and fix it. But okay, let me tell you why I'm bringing this up. The past week, Lauren, my wife, has been on jury duty here in Las Vegas on a first degree murder case. So she had to get up every day and you know, go to the courthouse, and then she would come back and she wouldn't be able to tell me what she was doing, and uh, you know, that's what you're supposed to do, of course. But all she would say is like, this is a first-degree murder case, and I, you know, I can't can't say anything about you know what's up. And I was like, Oh, I understand. She had to be restricted in the media she could watch. But yesterday she was um dismissed because they had they were still selecting the jury. It it takes a long time to select the jury in a first-degree murder case. So she got dismissed, and um uh she seems happy with that because they say these murder cases can go on for at least weeks, most likely months. Some of these cases can go on for years, actually, just depending on the situation. But anyway, um that has been like a really weird, like whacked out thing over the past week. And then um I am dealing with somebody who illegally published a version of one of my books. Uh we're we're we're still working on that and trying to get that squared away and rectified, and it looks like that you know we're gonna be able to get that done. Uh but but there but it goes on and on. It's like there are so many things that have happened, at least two or three or four more things that have happened over the past week that involve uh stuff that, you know, you you you really shouldn't talk about publicly. And look, y you probably know uh if especially if you've been listening to this podcast for a long time, that um I I have people who listen to this podcast all over the world, and just about every country and language you can imagine. So I really do have to be careful what I say and what I talk about when it comes to things that are legally oriented. So this has been just a crazy week, and I realized, oh my god, we're leading up to the month of April. Oh yeah, April, which is notorious for just wacky, crazy, weirdo bent, bizarre things happening. I'm gonna get back to that a little bit later in the podcast. But we're not even in April yet. I mean I'm recording this here on the last weekend of March, so I think you can see that I'm getting a feeling I'm making a prediction that maybe April is going to be one of the weirdest Aprils ever. So Lauren and I we uh we got together today uh after she was you know released, and uh we went to the movie theater, we decided to watch something kind of mindless. We watched Dumbo, the new live action Dumbo. Now, the last time I saw Dumbo, I was a kid watching the cartoon, and I just all I remember is enjoying it. And so, not that this is especially important in your life, but I I will just tell you that yeah, you know, Dumbo was uh well it's gotten very bad reviews, and it was kind of um uh a flat, uninspired movie. You know, Tim Burton did it, which you know, he's one of my favorite guys. Uh, one of my favorite movies is Ed Wood. Um, and I love the original Batman with Michael Keaton. Uh but yeah, the this version of Dumbo, it it did seem you know, they're they're soulless, I guess you could say. But that said, I don't have kids, and I can imagine that the kids would watch it and really enjoy it and attach to it, and I think that's all that that probably ma matters. So uh I just tell you that for the hell of it, you know. So if you have kids, maybe you know you take them to Dumbo, but uh but it was it was a fun way just to sort of detach and you know, kinda look at life with a reboot button. And this weekend is a very exciting weekend, however, for me. Um it's one of those things, again, I can't tell you exactly what I'm up to, but I have an invitation to do something on Sunday that I am extremely excited about, and I hope I'm able to tell you about this. So uh it's an opportunity to visit a studio here in Las Vegas where some amazing magic is produced. So if that goes the way I expect it to, then hopefully I'll be able to tell you more about that. It's also uh uh like to me kind of mind-boggling that seven days from now, uh next Saturday, I believe that's April the 6th, we're going to debut the Creepy Vegas tour, which of course is starting across the street from Zack Begin's The Haunted Museum. And uh I was so happy uh Zack Begins actually sent out a tweet about this, and he has almost a million followers on Twitter, and so yeah, he sent out a tweet, and I've just been getting tons of people contacting me and and making comments through Twitter, so that's really cool. Uh by the way, if you are going to be in the Vegas area next Saturday, I want to remind you now when we do our debut tour, and I again I think it's April the 6th, um let me grab my calendar here just to make sure. Um Yep, April 6th, 6 p.m. I'm gonna be there. I'm gonna be there for that. The debut tour. You know, I have been telling you that I'm working on a major project, part of the Mobius mission, in order to document ghosts once and for all. And it looks like that we are going to be ready to promote this, to debut this within the next thirty days. I'm not 100% sure, I'm not a hundred percent sure, but I think we're going to finally have the technology in place to get this set up within the next thirty days. And what we are doing is taking an extremely haunted place where people have seen all kinds of apparitions and crazy stuff, and proving if we get lucky enough and a ghost appears, once and for all, the ghosts are real. Capturing a ghost from every perspective with an instrument pack in the middle, and then I will take a lie detector test so that if anybody accuses me of hoaxing it or whatever, you know, I'll be able to say, look, I to I took a damn lie detector test. I'm trying to do everything I can to prove that ghosts are real. So I think that's coming up in the next 30 days. But April always kind of frightens me a little bit. And and that's because the month of April is the most unpredictable, weird, up in the air month of every year. And it's kind of a tradition for me. Uh it certainly was when I was on uh well, you know, I f for I don't know, fifteen or sixteen years or whatever, I I I produced and for all but the end uh hosted, speaking of strange, uh I would always talk about April anomalies, and then I talked about the month of April being such a weird month also last year on this podcast, but it's a it's a tradition for me to get back to it every spring and remind you why that the month of April is is weird. And what I'm seeing so far is that this is going to be an especially particularly weird April. So right off the bat, uh here is just a little bit of historical background for you on the month of April. The Romans gave the month of April the Latin name Aprelus. They say the traditional etymology is from the verb apier maybe it's apari, I'm not sure, but it means to open. So they're saying this is an allusion to when the flowers begin to open. And of course April Fool's Day I mean what a weird thing is that we start the month the very first day is April Fool's Day. We start it with this pranking day. And you know, here in the US we just uh prank people and mess with them. But this is actually something that happens around the world. Uh it says in Italy, France, and Belgium, children and adults traditionally tack paper fishes on each other's back as a trick and shall April fish and their local languages. Uh it says the earliest recorded association between April first and foolishness is an ambiguous reference in Chaucer's Canterbury Tales. So look, April is definitely a special month. And I first started taking note of this because when I was uh around high school age, just you know, right right around that period when I was in high school and graduating, I dated a girl for a while named April, and her birthday was April the 19th, and I realized that all this kind of weird stuff seemed to happen around her birthday, and I just realized after that that April is a really odd month. I used to call it a bad luck month, but now my mind is more open because bad and good is kind of a subjective thing, it just depends on your point of view. Altogether, it's just a weird, weird month. So I have this list of things that I have been collecting for years about stuff connected to April that shows you that this is not like the other months. Now you can say, Oh, well, yes, you can pluck any month out of the calendar and just focus on the weird or bad stuff that happens, but no, no, no, no, no, no. I completely deny that because uh or or oppose that because I'm telling you, April is special. There are more weird, dramatic things that happen in April than any other month. And so again, is this good? Is it bad? I don't know, but here's my tradition of going down uh a list of certain things that will help you understand why I feel that way given what I have found. Um if you want to look at the bad part of it, well, you know, if you have allergies, yeah, obviously they start kicking in when you you have the spring. Uh the the month starts with the April Fool's Day. Uh if you are a person who owes taxes, well, that's gonna happen for you in the US. You have to owe your taxes. But just listen to this list. I have to do this. Again, it's a tradition. You can interpret this however you want. The American Revolution started with Paul Revere's ride April eighteenth through the nineteenth of seventeen seventy-five. The American Civil War started in April of eighteen sixty one, ended with April of eighteen sixty five, so some people refer to it as the war quote across five Aprils. Also, the Battle of Asheville, North Carolina, where I am from, took place in April. There are a lot of wars and genocides around the world that occurred in April. The Bosnian War began in April of 1992, the Rwandan Genocide, April of nineteen ninety-four, the Armenian Genocide, April of nineteen fifteen. But let's look at some of the things that you might be even more familiar with. President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated april fourteenth of eighteen sixty five. The big nineteen oh six San Francisco earthquake took place april eighteenth of nineteen oh six. The Titanic sank on april fourteenth going into the fifteenth of nineteen twelve. The Red Baron killed his eightieth victim before being gunned down himself in nineteen eighteen. Martin Luther King junior was assassinated april fourth of nineteen sixty eight. Apollo thirteen, the notorious unsuccessful mission to the Moon, was launched april eleventh of nineteen seventy. The Chernobyl nuclear accident happened april twenty sixth of nineteen eighty-six. The nineteen ninety two LA as in Los Angeles riots after the Rodney King verdict happened april twenty ninth of nineteen ninety-two. The bloody end to the Branch Davidian siege in Waco, Texas happened April nineteenth, nineteen ninety three. The Oklahoma City bombing happened april nineteenth of nineteen ninety-five. The Columbine High School Massacre in Lyttleton, Colorado, April twentieth, nineteen ninety-nine. There were many people who died in tornadoes and all kinds of horrible stuff April second of two thousand six. In 2007 we had the Virginia Tech Massacre in Blacksburg, Virginia. That was April 16th, 2007. The deep water horizon drilling rig exploded, killing eleven people and creating one of the largest environmental disasters in history on april twentieth of 2010. April fifteenth of twenty thirteen we had the Boston Marathon bombing. April first of twenty fourteen there was an eight point two magnitude Chilean earthquake and tsunami. April nineteenth of twenty fourteen a suspected meteorite explosion was recorded over Murmansk, Russia. Let's see here. Late April twenty fifteen Baltimore riots after the death of Freddie Gray. So I mean I I could keep going here. But listen to this. Hitler was born on april twentieth, eighteen eighty nine, and he died april thirtieth of nineteen forty five. Saddam Hussein was born april twenty eighth of nineteen thirty seven. His reign in Iraq ended with the war on april ninth of two thousand three. Anton Levay, founder of the Church of Satan, was born april eleventh, nineteen thirty. Buddha was born april eighth. There are a lot of people who are scholars who say that Jesus' birthday, according to their studies, was not december twenty fifth, but actually around april seventeenth. On a more personal level, um there is this really weird story that you'll experience uh or well you'll hear about if you take my haunted Asheville Ghost Tours in Asheville, North Carolina, about what we call the ghoul of the old jail that terrorized prisoners. That was April 18th, uh, nineteen oh eight. Um I actually uh premiered one of my movies in April and the projector broke down and that was a big disaster. I mean, I keep keep going on and going on. The st the official stone of April is the diamond. And of course, some of the most cursed, quote unquote cursed stones out there are diamonds, like the Hope Diamond. I mean, I'm telling you, April is just a crazy weird month. So I won't be so single-minded, I guess, to to say that April is a bad luck month, but what I will say is that a lot of dramatic twisty things happen in the month of April, and whether they're good or bad kind of depends on your point of view and where you're coming from. So I'm already seeing the energy. I'm already feeling the energy as we get closer to April. So ultimately, what I'm telling you is get ready. Get ready for a weird ass April. This is my prediction. Something strange, something I think especially strange and dramatic is going to occur April of twenty nineteen. So it's right here recorded, set in stone. I I think it might be one of those I told you so. So just remember that I said this is a hell of an interesting month coming up April of twenty nineteen.
